Hey guys! I'm back again with a new chapter that further explains the side stories many of the fighters have in the Kingdom of Hyrule. What adventures will they have? Read on to find out!
Also, I've been keeping busy on other unrelated projects but I promise to all of you that I will keep this story going until the bright end so stay tuned! I won't let a pandemic stop me from completing this!
Before I continue, I want to discuss a bit about the new fighter Sakurai revealed today! Min Min! for the arms character, I was expecting either Ninjara or Twintelle, but Min Min's good too. I bet people are somewhat hyped but as for me, I never really got into Arms. I never bought it and let its hype kinda die down. Hope it's still worth buying if people are saying it's still good though. Although I'm conflicted about whether I should get Xenoblade remastered or Arms. Right now I'm playing my way through Animal Crossing and the Isle of Armor for Pokemon Sword/Shield. Both loads of fun so I don't know if I'm gonna get either of them. Anyway, I don't really mind the new Mii fighters that are introduced. I really wasn't expecting the Fallout Vault Boy to make an appearance. Although, some people may be disappointed if the Heihachi costume diminished the chance of the real deal getting in. (Jin may be the better Tekken choice though.) I'll like Min Min as a fighter, and she'll probably operate as a hugely longer range Little Mac. Although, there is still one fighter I'm hoping to see if he somehow makes it in. I won't say his name, but he wields a powerful key in battle. Hopefully Sakurai let him in. However, I won't complain if he doesn't make it.
As always, don't forget to fave, follow and review! Now, without any further delay, let's get into this brand new chapter!
Disclaimer: I do not own Super Smash Bros. It is owned by Nintendo and Masahiro Sakurai.
Hyrule Kingdom, World of Trophies
Every fighter who had arrived within the royal borders each had a determination that would not stop until they stopped Galeem first. However, they each decided to pass the time by making any necessary preparations or simply killing the time before they left the kingdom to stop the Lord of Light.
Some fighters decided to head down to the castle town to roam around and shop for anything that may be worth buying.
Others chose to stay within the castle walls and make any improvements to themselves or their overall forces.
Castle Town Marketplace District
The mayor Matt and his secretary Isabelle were walking through the lively area of town and were amazed at how the town had its own form of business.
"You know, under different circumstances, this would be an excellent place to live in." Said Matt.
"You're kidding right?" Responded the secretary. "I can't believe such a town exists!"
"Yeah. I admire the livelihood of these people." Replied the mayor. "I can't help but feel like Tom Nook and his kids would be jealous about this town blowing ours out of the water."
Isabelle chuckled at the notion before seeing something that caught the secretary's eye. "Hey! Let's get some fruit here! I see a lot of ones that look familiar!"
Matt was about to go to another shop before he felt his stomach growl. "I guess you're right. I'm getting a little hungry right about now."
The mayor then followed his excited secretary into the nearby fruit shop, where they both would experience flavors beyond the fruit they grew back in Oak Town.
"These cherries are amazing!" Said Isabelle in pure joy. "I've never tasted anything so sweet before!"
She then turned her head toward the shop owner. "Where do you find most of your fruit? It's great!"
The owner was a bit hesitant but Isabelle's cute look made him spill. "Alright. I go out on expeditions to the Faron Jungles located in Southeast Hyrule, but ever since that light, we've been limited in our supply, so get them while they last, puppy."
Isabelle realized what she needed to do after hearing that. "I will buy ten of them!"
She took out some rupees she had exchanged from bells beforehand, and gave them to the owner.
The owner looked pleased with the payment. "Thank you! Please come again!"
Matt couldn't help but smile at the secretary's enthusiasm.
Isabelle then ran past him as she saw another shop that looked like it sold souvenirs. "Come on! Let's go to that one next!"
The mayor realized that enthusiasm was why she was made to be his secretary in the first place, so he still continued to follow her to her heart's content.
In another area of the marketplace, more specifically the smithing area, Luigi rented a space to tinker with his Poltergust vacuum while also stocking up on mushrooms in case he needed a power boost.
He was hard at work and was almost done repairing the device after his battles with Ridley and the Lightspace Army.
This was when Daisy, Princess of Sarasaland, visited him. "Hey Luigi!"
The princess unknowingly startled the plumber. He jumped in the air and knocked him out of his mental working zone.
"Oh! Daisy!" Said Luigi as he was catching his breath. "I didn't-a see you there!"
Daisy felt bad and decided to apologize. "Sorry about that! I should've realized you get surprised when you're in the working zone!"
She expected Luigi to get back up from his work station, but he didn't for some odd reason.
"Luigi?" Asked Daisy worryingly. "Is everything ok?"
"You saw it yourself-a Daisy." Responded the plumber. "I don't-a know if we'll-a win this-a one. Even with-a the numbers we have."
"Where's this coming from?" Asked the princess.
"We've-a both faced powerful enemies in the past. Tatanga, Bowser, King Boo, but this-a time we're facing someone with-a powers similar to a god."
Luigi was about to break down in fear before Daisy grabbed a hold of his shoulders and stared into his distraught eyes.
"Listen! I'm scared too. We're all scared, but that doesn't mean we just give up and let the enemy win! We're all better than that! You're better than that! You're one of the Mario Bros! You've survived impossible odds before so what's one more time?"
The plumber was about to say something, but soon realized Daisy was right and embraced her in a hug of comfort.
"It's getting late." Said the princess. "It's about time we head back to the castle."
Luigi realized he could work on the Poltergust tomorrow, so he went with Daisy, back to the castle to get some rest, comfortably holding hands along the way.
Hyrule Castle Barracks
Cloud Strife was training all he could on a nearby dummy. In fact, he was training so hard that the dummy he was wailing on was his sixth one that evening.
With one powerful slash, he cleaved the fake target in two, rendering it useless.
He was about to go ahead to the main area to get another dummy to practice on. Once he got there, he could see other warriors training with one another to improve their skills for the battle ahead.
Marth was fighting against Ike while Simon and Richter faced each other with their whips. On another side, Ryu was giving his all on a hanging punching bag.
Just when he was about to take another step forward, a voice called out to him from behind. "Looks like you could use a partner."
Cloud turned around and saw a red haired boy in his late teens. He looked like he was experienced in sword combat and held a fiery passion the Avalanche member couldn't help but admire.
"The name's Roy." Said the warrior as he stuck his hand out.
The buster sword wielder couldn't help but introduce himself as he took the boy's hand. "Cloud Strife."
Roy decided to inquire about the sword he had. "By the way, I've never really seen a greatsword like that before! Mind if you draw it?"
Seeing no harm in doing so, Cloud drew out his buster sword for the warrior to take a look at.
"Amazing!" Exclaimed Roy. "I've never seen something so strange, yet powerful! Where'd you get it?"
This unfortunately struck a nerve inside the Avalanche member, remembering the good friend who gave him the blade before dying on the ground.
Roy could see the distraught look on Cloud's face and realize what he had done. "Oh… I am so sorry! I didn't know there was some bad past behind it!"
The blonde warrior could understand that Roy didn't mean any harm. Because of this, he recovered in only a few seconds. "It's fine. You didn't know."
Cloud then stepped onto an open space and readied his blade. "Ready to spar?"
Roy couldn't help but oblige. "You bet."
The two swordsmen then clashed blades as the sound reverberated across the chamber.
Both were holding their own with their own techniques keeping both of them in the ring. Even after a few minutes, it looked like neither fighter was going to give up.
Hyrule Castle Town Outskirts
Some fighters chose to remain outside the kingdom and work on their respective armies and inventory. There was a wide enough space where the visitors' aircraft would be properly stationed and protected. Additionally, Zelda had some soldiers, led by Robin, to protect them if any enemies were to come.
One of the fighters that chose to stay was Meta Knight, who was overseeing his crew perform necessary maintenance and repairs on the Battleship Halberd, even commanding some of the absent King Dedede's Waddle Dees.
Despite the crew's differing loyalties, they all knew to work on the Halberd if they all wished to survive.
Robin chose to approach Meta Knight, most likely to learn more about his objective.
"So you're a warrior like me huh?" Asked the mage.
Meta Knight chose to play along. "Yes. Of course. I come from a region of this world called Dream Land."
"Sounds like somewhere worth visiting." Responded Robin.
Meta Knight lightly chuckled. "Trust me. There's quite a few problems with Dream Land, but there's also a hero that was born to solve them."
Robin got to thinking. "He must be well-respected."
"Sometimes he is, sometimes he isn't. Despite that though, he's the most courageous person I know." Responded the Star Warrior. "I'm just wondering where he is now."
"I should get back to the others. It's great that we had this alliance to fend off against this enemy." Said the mage as he was heading out of the Halberd's vicinity.
Meta Knight then got back to work, but not before thinking of Dream Land's protector, showing genuine concern for his longtime friend and rival. "Wherever you are, Kirby, we need you now more than ever."
Back in the castle walls, Princess Peach was getting adjusted to her new room. She couldn't help but admire the royal work done with the chambers throughout the castle.
Just when she was about to settle on her bed, a knock came at her door.
"Come in." Responded the Princess.
The door opened to reveal Zelda. "I couldn't help but notice your curiosity at me present throughout the meeting. Is there something you'd like to tell me?"
The Hylian princess decided to sit next to Peach out of courtesy.
Peach thought it best to explain it to her from the beginning. "I met a Zelda much like yourself during the time before the Subspace War. We were friends and fought side by side for years. The last time I saw her was four years ago. From what she told me, her version of Hyrule had gone through its own share of trouble in the past."
Zelda then learned everything about her other counterpart's history, from the Twilight Invasion to the Subspace War and beyond.
"That doesn't sound like the Zelda that belongs to this Hyrule." Surmised the ruler. "I have a few theories surrounding that though."
"What do you mean?" Asked Peach.
The Hylian then decided to continue her explanation. "According to the top scientists, along with some philosophers and soothsayers within the kingdom, this Hyrule is believed to have replaced a similar version that was once here before. Perhaps the kingdom you're referring to. Even more puzzling though, is that I may be the Zelda that replaced the one you had mentioned. Either me, or the Zelda belonging to this new kingdom of Hyrule."
Peach let the reality sink in before thinking the worst. "So what you're saying is that the Zelda I knew for so long may be… "
"I cannot say for certain, but that may be the most likely case." Answered the Hylian Princess.
"Don't worry." Continued Zelda. "I may not be the Zelda you know, but I try to trust you as much as she did."
She then wrapped an arm around her pink gown in an act of comfort.
This was the reassurance that Peach needed after everything she went through. "Thank you Zelda. I promise to not let you down."
The Hylian understood what the Mushroom Kingdom ruler expressed. "I'll let you tend to your room, Peach. If there's anything you may need, feel free to let me know."
Zelda then exited Peach's room, but not before exchanging a friendly and trusting smile to her new friend.
Peach reciprocated the look before the other princess left.
With that new improvement of trust, the mushroom princess felt like she could sleep a little easier in the coming nights.
As Zelda exited Peach's guest quarters, she went to the briefing room and summoned a platoon of soldiers.
She then gave an order to the captain of the group. "Captain, have yourself and your squadron travel to Kakariko Village to bolster our forces. From what I was told, the Sheikah Tribe will lend us their aid if the circumstances are this dire."
The captain decided to question the order. "Forgive me, your highness, but what if they refuse to send anyone?"
Zelda was quick to respond. "I don't think that will be the case. From the princess's study, I can see that she and the Tribe's leader Impa go way back. I believe they will more than likely help us."
With this reasoning, the captain followed the order through without any further questioning. "Understood, princess."
The squadron then left the chamber, leaving Princess Zelda alone.
Using this solitude to her advantage, she decided to start forming her plan of attack, which would involve everyone who arrived, as well as her own forces, to provide enough of an offensive for Galeem to end his universal threat for good.
