We come back to the Battle of Hyrule where the tables of the battle have turned in the fighters' favor! How will the defenders launch their counterattack? Read on to find out!

Hyrule Kingdom, World of Trophies
A few minutes ago, the fighters defending Hyrule were at the Lightspace Army's mercy. The ground defense forces were overrun by the fearsome Light Berserkers led by Scarlet, the elite Mii Swordfighter. Along with that, the air strike team failed to shut down the fusion cannon in time, resulting in the destruction of Palutena's barrier and the Goddess of Light herself being out of commission once more.
Just in time though, the tide of the battle turned back in the defenders' favor. This was when a newly powered Link and his allies arrived on the battlefield, more than ready to lend their aid.
Overwhelmed with a sense of fury and resolve, the Hero of Hyrule led a charge that broke clean through the enemy forces.
Accompanying the Hylian warrior were Kirby, Sheik, Shulk, Pit, and Young Link, all of whom joined the defenders in driving the enemy back.
Link was brandishing his newly powered Master Sword at any Light Berserker that came his way. Additionally, the sacred blade emitted rings of pure energy to cut down more enemies that were farther away.
These rings freed some fighters that many of the hostile forces had pinned down.
Ike was the first one Link had freed from the enemy's grasp. When the Radiant Hero got a good look at the Hylian's face, he could recognize him almost right away even though he looked a little different. "Link…? Is that you?"
Caught up in the heat of the fight, Link came up with a half-baked response. "I am, but I'm not the one you might know!"
"Good enough for me." Said the greatsword wielder as he got back up.
The two swordsmen were then joined up by Incineroar, who was freed by an approaching Captain Falcon.
For any defenders that were still pinned down, they were soon rescued by Young Link and Shulk.
Meanwhile, Sheik found Corrin still defending her line out on the far side of the field. She rushed over to where the draconic hero was. Just when a horde of Berserkers started to come her way, the Sheikah warrior threw a cluster of grenades that exploded in front of the horde, effectively obliterating them.
"It seemed like you required some assistance!" Said Sheik in a friendly tone.
"Thanks for that!" Replied the shapeshifter. "Let's turn the tide back in our favor!"
Meanwhile, Young Link noticed Ness still trapped under a few Berserkers, unable to move a muscle.
Seeing the situation playing out, the young Hylian decided to fire volleys of arrows at the enemies, carefully aiming for their eyes, noses, and mouths. "They're wolves right? So their facial features must be super sensitive."
After the young warrior shot a few fire arrows, they hit the faces of the Berserkers holding Ness down. After a few more successful shots, they let go of their prey to hold down the pain. Once they saw their attacker, they all ran toward the young Hero of Time with murderous intent.
As Young Link was ready to swing his sword toward the first enemy, a shout came from behind the oncoming creatures. "PK Flash!"
The berserkers all turned their heads only to be destroyed into pieces with some green PSI energy. Walking through the resulting dust was Ness, looking beaten up, but still determined to fight while gripping his bat. "Thanks for providing me with that opening. Come to think of it, you look like a friend I used to know, only younger."
"I'll explain everything later!" Replied Young Link in a hurry. "Let's join the others first!"
Lightspace Fleet, Above Hyrule
Kirby, the ever powerful Star Warrior, had his Warpstar head for the aerial battle above the fields. He knew he was outmatched at his current level, so he brought out something that he hadn't used for a while.
He possessed what looked to be several feathers, a pair of wings, and a beak-like tip. The warrior then put away his Warpstar as the pieces assembled to form a new mode of fast aerial transportation. The powerful Dragoon. This was not only a reliable mode of flight, but also a weapon of mass destruction. One that the Subspace War participants knew all too well.
As Pit was watching the puffball assemble the Dragoon, he got out of the way in time before Kirby increased his speed tremendously.
"It's good Kirby's able to help me. Link's sword also allowed me to fly, so I might as well use it to protect whoever's left up there!" Thought Pit as he headed for the mothership. The angel was following Kirby, more than ready to help the puffball and other fighters in the battle further ahead.
As a few Light Jet Primids were coming the angel's way, a dark streak flew by, effectively bisecting them without a moment's hesitation.
When the angel got a good look at the source of that attack, he was instantly overwhelmed in a combination of relief, ecstasy, and hope. He could see the dark angel that saved him, one that Pit didn't expect to see in the flesh again.
"Pittoo! You're alive!" Pit flew toward his dark counterpart to hug him tightly.
Despite the history they shared together, Dark Pit accepted the hug due to their shared history.
Pit decided to ask even more questions right off the bat. "How did you survive? How'd you get here? Where's Lady Palutena? Is she alive too?"
"It's a long story, but let's finish this first." Replied the dark angel before looking back at him one more time. "And yes. Palutena's still alive. If you want to see her again, we have to finish this battle, for her sake!"
"Right with you Pittoo!" Responded Pit out of a sense of hope.
With that said, the two angels made their way toward the fusion cannon mothership to fight the battle above them.
Lightspace Mothership
The remaining fighters were still attacking the ever increasing onslaught of Light Primid Infantry and plasma cannons situated on the exterior hull. Additionally, there was a team of fighters still trying to break through to the command bridge.
Meanwhile, in the surrounding airspace, Samuel was still fighting the combined force of Bowser Jr, and Amelia the Inkling. Even though the gunner was still holding his own, the same can't be said for the opposing duo. Jr's Koopa Clown Copter was running low on ammo, not to mention Agent 4's ink reserves.
"You two can't keep this up forever!" Shouted the Elite Gunner as he continued his assault. "I can tell you're both running low!"
He used one of his openings to take a glance at the advancing fighters. Realizing that they were beginning to close in on his command bridge, he decided to cut his losses. "All secondary warships, focus your fire on the fusion mothership. Destroy it!"
"~But sir! We'll lose our own~'' Replied a Light Primid from the other side.
"Just do it!" Interrupted the elite gunner. "I won't ask you again!"
Soon enough, all the other warships that surrounded the mothership were pointing every gun they had at the large craft.
"No!" Shouted Amelia as she and Bowser Jr could see what was happening.
Samuel used this opportunity to taunt his opponents. "Now you will know even more pain once I wipe out your friends!"
The duo went back to the hull to warn them of what was about to happen, blowing through most of their remaining fuel. They both knew that they were in no shape to fight him anymore, so all they could do now was go back to warn the others.
Back on the hull, most of the fighters took notice of the surrounding warships turning all their cannons.
Princess Daisy was the first one to take notice, becoming overwhelmed with a sense of fear. "Uh oh."
This left her wide open as a super scope Primid was able to get a good aim on her with a charge shot.
Luigi immediately noticed this and pushed the princess out of the way in time. "Daisy! Get-a down!"
This charged shot hit the green plumber instead, sending him flying about fifteen feet toward the troop transport.
"Luigi!" Shouted Daisy as she ran toward him. Once she got to him, she hastily put his arm around her shoulder as they limped back to the landing craft. "Stay with me! Please!"
Wario and Pac-Man were able to deal with the infantry following them, but they too also noticed what the warships were doing.
"They're gonna destroy the ship!" Shouted Pac-Man.
Daisy thought about her friends and allies that came with her. "We can get out of here safely, but what about the team that reached the command bridge?"
She didn't want to think the worst, but it was hard to come up with another option. As she held the barely conscious green capped hero in her arms, she would embrace the worst of what was about to happen. "I'm sorry… Luigi… I always… admired you to the end…"
Meanwhile, in the middle of the mothership's hull, Donkey Kong and King K Rool were continuing their fight when it got interrupted by the warships' sudden change in aim.
K Rool noticed this with immediate feelings of betrayal. "Samuel! You backstabbin-"
Suddenly, a well placed punch to the jaw effectively knocked the reptile out cold, courtesy of the primate. "-I had to do it, old friend.-"
Soon enough, he too noticed the warships' aim. He immediately booked it back to the transport, easily carrying the unconscious K Rool with him as well.
Near the command bridge, the six remaining fighters, consisting of Marth, Meta Knight, Fox, Lucina, Cloud, and Greninja, stopped trying to push forward after seeing the warships take aim.
Seeing that they couldn't escape in time, Lucina closely held onto Marth while the rest impulsively looked at the warship cannons for what came next.
"This is it, isn't it…" Said Fox to himself. "I'm sorry everyone… I thought we had a shot... "
As they all prepared for the inevitable to happen, something unexpected occurred instead. For the three warships to the mothership's left, a small white flash of light fleeted through them before suddenly exploding, sending their fiery wreckage descending toward the field below.
"What just happened?" Asked Cloud, confused about the sudden event.
Meanwhile, Fox and Meta Knight immediately knew what had occurred.
Another flash of light occurred with the three warships located on the other side. They too exploded in sudden bursts of flame.
"I know exactly what happened." Said Meta Knight with subtle hope in his voice. "Kirby has returned!"
"You're right on that, Meta Knight," Added a joyous Fox as he focused his eye scanner. "I can see him on the Dragoon just like when he was back then! He hasn't changed one bit!"
Kirby was about to make another powered charge toward the mothership before being stopped by a well-placed missile from Samuel, sending the Dragoon parts plummeting toward the surface.
After falling a short distance, the puffball pulled out his warpstar once more, and flew back up to Samuel's altitude.
"You may have caught me off guard with your little attack, puffball, but without your Dragoon, you're not much!" Taunted the gunner.
"Really?" Said Pit as he came from behind Samuel. "How would you fare against an Angel of the Gods then?"
The elite gunner was about to turn around, but Pit used his bladed bow to slash his jetpack. "Too slow!"
This attack left significant damage as he started flying uncontrollably. Eventually, the jetpack gave out and sent him falling down to the surface. Before he could land though, Dark Pit was flying toward the gunner at a breakneck speed equipped with his electroshock arm. "This is for Skyworld!"
Dark Pit put everything he had into his right arm as it hit Samuel's face so hard, it sent him flying skyward. After ten seconds, he started to fall back down.
However, Pit wasn't done with him yet. He used his newfound flight from the Master Sword's power to send his body toward the gunner once more. The angel focused his energy into his leg this time. "And this is for Lady Palutena!"
He soon gave a powerful kick that sent him flying downward toward the castle at considerable speed.
Due to the trajectory of his landing, he hit the ground behind the eastern gate of Hyrule Castle. The impact of the fall knocked him unconscious, but far from dead. This was where some Hylian royal guards came to the impact site. They were more than eager to subdue the gunner and place him inside the Hyrule dungeon. This victory, along with K Rool's defeat, effectively ended two enemies that posed a serious threat to the fighters. However, hostile forces were still on the surface, more than ready to cause problems on their own.
Back in the sky, Kirby came to the angels once more, more than concerned for them after that dealing of revenge. Although, all Pit could say was the first thing that indicated his new resolve. "Let's finish this. For everything we've lost so far."
"Poyo!" Was all that the puffball enthusiastically needed to respond with.
That response was all that Pit needed, while all Dark Pit responded with was a determined nod.
The three airborne warriors then flew toward the mothership, preparing to help the fighters secure the win. In their minds, they all knew that victory was finally within reach.
