Hyrule Kingdom Southern Field, World of Trophies
As the raging battle on the field turned in favor of the defenders, the Light Berserkers, under the command of the Elite Mii Swordfighter Scarlet, soon found their numbers rapidly dwindling.
This outcome was due to the timely intervention of Link, Kirby, and the rest of their group.
The Hylian hero was laying waste to every single enemy that came his way. While he was at it, he and his allies managed to free the defenders already pinned down before.
As Link ravaged his way through the hordes, he shouted a war cry that could be heard throughout the battlefield. It boosted morale for the remaining Hylian soldiers and defenders.
He was accompanied by Sheik, also known as the Princess Zelda from the very kingdom being protected.
In the heat of battle, Link said the first thing that came to his mind. "Thank you for sticking with me Zelda, but I want you to live through this battle, for the kingdom!"
As Sheik was running by his side, she made a response with similar haste. "I promise to live, but I want you to live too Link! If you die, I will never forgive myself!"
Link could make out what she said, so he made a promise to her. "I'll live through this battle! Whatever it takes!"
Meanwhile, Matt the Oak Town Mayor, with the assistance of Isabelle, managed to follow the Hylians and free a few more allies from the enemy's grasp. This included the duck and dog duo, Robin, and Bayonetta.
The latter was especially more than relieved to see the hero she saw back on Skyworld still alive. "I thought you'd never arrive, hero! You could've come earlier."
While Link was defending the Umbra Witch, he could spare some time for a reunion. "You survived the blast! That must mean your other two friends survived!"
"Indeed." Responded Bayonetta. "One of them's unconscious in the castle while the other's right above us taking out the enemy as we speak."
Link could take a moment to look up from his position. As soon as he did, he could see the raging battle happening within the Lightspace mothership and the surrounding airspace.
When a few more berserkers came his way, the Umbra Witch decided to use her recovered strength to form a wall of Wicked Weaves around herself, Link, Sheik, Matt, and Isabelle, protecting them from any more harm.
"Thanks for the update, but I have to finish this battle first!" Link then created an updraft using Revali's Gale as he took out his paraglider. After a little ways away from Bayonetta's protection wall, he put away his glider as he plummeted down above a new horde of enemies. Making sure his sword was the first thing that touched the ground, he plunged it down into the dirt with all his might, creating a powerful glowing shockwave. This attack disintegrated anything within a five meter radius. Fortunately, no allies were caught in the blast.
Admiring his skill, Bayonetta realized that she underestimated ordinary humans, despite being one herself. Under this realization, she knew she had more to prove, so she continued to defend the kingdom from Galeem's forces. Not only for saving the world, but out of respect for her new allies.
As Scarlet, the elite Mii Swordfighter, saw the defenders pushing back significantly, she realized the battle was lost. As she was about to retreat further, she was stopped by something that grabbed her leg.
Once the swordfighter looked back in an act of shock, she could see Richter and his whip wrapped around her ankle.
The vampire slayer's strength was nothing to laugh at, so with a mighty pull, he managed to swing Scarlet back over to the battlefield. "Don't think we're done with you yet! You buried me under a building!"
When Scarlet was on the other side of the hunter, the whip let go of her leg. This sent her flying about ten meters before landing in front of a fighter she hoped she wouldn't see again.
She was flying toward Corrin, who was more than eager to get another shot in. As she was descending ever closer, the shapeshifter was ready to unleash her full power.
Once Scarlet got within attack distance, Corrin transformed into a dragon with command over the bodies of water. Within a second, she unleashed a deadly torrent that practically finished the swordfighter off.
The draconic hero then transformed back into a human to see the worn-down state of her opponent. "Now… it's over…You put up a good fight… "
The last thing the wet and beaten-up Scarlet saw was Corrin giving her one last hint of respect and closure before returning to battle the remaining berserkers. Once she was fully out cold, a few Hylian soldiers carried her to the castle dungeon.
Meanwhile, in the hole of the barrier caused by the Lightspace Tanks, Ridley was still going strong, but he knew that he couldn't hold out much longer. While the galactic terror was distracted by attacking some Hylian soldiers, a soccer ball came at him at great speed. This caught the space pirate off guard as the ball hit his head, briefly throwing him off guard.
Ridley looked toward the direction of where the ball came from, and found Emma the Fitness Trainer, more than willing to take out the last remaining commander of the Lightspace army.
The space pirate knew that utterly eliminating a few fighters wasn't on Galeem's agenda. However, he wasn't interested in Galeem's orders anymore. He just wanted to kill, regardless of who suffered. If he couldn't get Samus, he would settle for anyone.
With bloodlusted and murderous intent, he charged at the fitness trainer with astonishing speed. However, he failed to realize that his approach was a vital mistake.
A few seconds before impact, Emma shouted something that threw the space pirate off. "Now!"
This abruptly slowed Ridley down, slow enough for an opening to be made.
Footsteps soon came for him at a breakneck speed before a charged attack was prepared. "Falcon…"
Ridley turned toward the new voice in a panic, only for his face to meet the fiery fist of the oncoming attack. "PUNCH!"
Captain Falcon's powerful blow landed square on the space pirate's jaw, effectively knocking out a few teeth, not to mention his skull.
With this attack dealt, Ridley crumpled to the ground with his mind in a fog. He tried to get back up, but his body was failing him.
Emma decided to thank Captain Falcon. "Thanks… I'm glad the plan we came up with worked!"
"No problem, Emma." Replied the captain politely. "I honestly haven't felt this good in a long time. It's good to be back in the heat of battle."
"We're not done yet." Countered Emma as a new berserker horde was coming their way.
Captain Falcon then got in front of Emma out of a sense of protection. "I'll handle them."
He then stuck out his hand and made a 'come here' gesture with it. "Come on!"
Once the horde came close enough, he landed consecutive punches on each one. Meanwhile, Emma was dealing with any stragglers that the captain might've left unchecked.
Using every last bit of strength he had left, a downed Ridley tried to attack both Emma and the captain from behind. However, before he could do anything, he was knocked down by one last attack. A powerful punch from Bowser that no ordinary being could survive. The Koopa King was confident that Ridley could though.
This effectively ended the threat that the space pirate posed, as he was knocked unconscious for good. Bowser used this opportunity to taunt his defeated opponent. "That was for knocking me down earlier, you scum."
The Koopa King volunteered to take the unconscious space pirate back to the dungeon. He chose to do it because he had a bone to pick with him. That, and the creature was too heavy to be lifted by almost anyone else.
Lightspace Fleet
As the fighters were all heading back for the transport, Meta Knight took one last look at Kirby, who was fleeing the craft on his Warpstar along with being accompanied by the two angels. With this last glance, he managed to get himself back on the transport.
Daisy managed to get a wounded Luigi on board with help from Yoshi while Bowser Jr. was carrying Amelia with what little fuel was left in the Koopa Clown Car.
Donkey Kong found an unconscious Diddy Kong bruised up. However, seeing as he already had his hands full carrying K Rool, he knew someone else had to pick him up. After calling for help, the Ice Climbers came with a sense to help their comrade back to the transport.
Fox, Marth, Lucina, Cloud, Greninja, Pac-Man, and Snake all got on the transport without delay. The same couldn't be said for Wario, Olimar, and Roy though.
However, the remaining fighters and Sheikah warriors could see them on the horizon as a motorbike was coming their way, much to their relief. Wario was driving the bike while Roy and Olimar were hitched on.
Once they all got on the transport, Snake made sure there were no stragglers. "Is that everyone?"
Meta Knight was the first to respond. "I can confirm we are all accounted for, Snake!"
"Then let's get outta here!" Replied the stealth ops soldier. "Have our defenses and fleet let loose on that thing once we're clear!"
He then fired up the transport and left the fusion cannon mothership at the mercy of Hyrule's firepower.
Back in the sanctum, Zelda saw the strike team transport craft leaving the ship. This was when she gave out the order. "All airships, guardians, and artillery, fire at the remaining enemy aircraft!"
With this order, hundreds of cannonballs, bullet bills, and laser beams significantly overwhelmed the ship. Despite the shields taking the brunt of the damage, it was only a small matter of time before they gave way.
Eventually, the shields came down after roughly a minute of continuous firing, causing the ship to explode downward in a brilliant burst of flame.
With this massive fireball seen throughout the kingdom, the fighters and soldiers knew that victory was almost theirs.
With no leaders to manage them effectively, the remaining berserkers were too disorganized to form an effective strategy. This left them at the defenders' mercy, who effectively dwindled their numbers by the second.
Zelda was overseeing this from the sanctum, and soon realized that victory was within reach. She gave out one last message to everyone over her frequency. "Do not falter just yet everyone! Until the last enemy is destroyed, victory is still not ours!"
With support from Link and Kirby in the land and air respectively, the defenders, along with their allies, knew that the battle was almost won.
