I have been playing the ever loving shit out of Divinity 2, and accidently stumbled on a bit of romance with Sebille! That was a very pleasant and a very heart-warming surprise. So now here I am with a romance, plot driven story between my lizard character and Sebille. This will follow the events of the main campaign and what I did in it. I will try to match the dialog as closely as I can, but I will probably just ad-lib a lot.
Enjoy.
There were many things Rahmius was not expecting to encounter today.
Waking up on some random ship with a magical collar around his neck; that same ship being attacked by a giant, aquatic voidwoken; washing ashore on the prison island he was being sent to on that now sunken ship.
And finally, having an elf push a unusually sharp needle against his neck as she glared at him with killing intent.
It seems today was not his day.
He glanced behind him and wondered if he should feel betrayed that his allies had not drawn their weapons to help him. But then again they weren't really "friends". More so just acquaintances. For now anyway.
There was the ever charismatic Lohse, the unusual awkward Fane, and finally a fellow kin the legendary Red Prince himself.
Oh, and the elf. Yes, he couldn't forget the elf. Not that he had a choice to really.
All he wanted to do was ask why she was crouching behind a barrel of fish, and in response to his inquiry his own life was being threatened. But there was something peculiar about this elf, and it wasn't the slave scar that adorned her left cheek.
No, it was her eyes. Not only were they striking, but the way she looked at him was a look of pure hatred. Rahmius could tell right away, this elf had a sour history with lizards.
His fellow acquaintances watched with curiosity as to how this situation would unfold, did they expect Rhamius to be gutted right before their eyes? Possibly. But they could tell from their interactions with their lizard leader that the reptile had a way with words. He could easily defuse this situation.
Hopefully.
The elf dug her needle a little deeper into Rahmius's neck. "Speak. Why are you sneaking up on me?" Her voice was sharp, and strict. Straight to the point, just like her needle.
Rahmius held his hands in the air as he answered. "I was just going to ask why you were crouching behind a barrel of fish." His voice was deep, and firm. Like that of a warrior, and while he considered himself a warrior, his true skills lay in necromancy. Finding the ability to raise skeletons and the dead far too alluring to pass up.
The elf continued to glare at him before turning around, keeping the needle against his neck as she peered over her shoulder and back towards the central market. Watching as a lizard walked away from a man peeling potatos. She turned her attention back to Rahmius afterwards.
A speck of recognition flashed in her sharp eyes. "You're the lizard from the boat, the one who asked about my little dice game."
"And you're the elf who licked my arm."
The elf smirked, if ever so slightly. "Well this time my needle will be doing most of the licking."
"Why the sudden need to resort to violence?"
"You saw me stalking my prey, you could go and warn him."
"Why would I do that."
"Your kind are always looking after your 'kin' aren't you?" She spoke the word "kin" with a hint of toxicity. Rahmius furrowed his brow.
"While I do care for my kin, not everyone deserves such gratitude." The elf raised an eyebrow at this. "Besides, I'm planning on escaping. I'd like for you to come with me."
"Is that so? And why me, pray tell."
"Someone of your talents could be of use, and I'm sure you have better ambitions than stalking lizards and holding people at needle-point."
The elf thought for a moment, the wheels in her head turning; before finally releasing Rahmius and putting away her needle.
"Fine, you've convinced me, for now." She shot out her hand. "Sebille."
"Rahmius." The lizard held out his hand and shook the elfs, a coy smile spread across lithe face for a moment before vanishing.
"The last time I shook a lizard's hand I gutted him shortly after." Sebille remarked.
"Well the day's still young."
Sebille chuckled, her laugh was gentle music to his ears, a brief reprieve from the rather chaotic day. The pulled their hands away from each other and Sebille was straight back to business.
"Now, let's go find that lizard I was hunting."
A few questions and a little tracking, and suddenly Rahmius found himself standing over a now dead kin, the kin's stomach split open and his intestines all but spilling out onto the ground. Rahmius looked up at Sebille who was wiping her needle clean, she looked over at him; a blasé expression on her face.
"Something the matter?"
There were several things wrong in fact, and the Red Prince voiced his own displeasure with the recent murder first.
"You psychopathic elf! You just killed one of my kinds esteemed dreamers!"
Sebille turned to the royal prince, her expression unchanging. "Is that supposed to make me care more? Just be lucky I had the patience to let you conduct your business with him first." The Red Prince growled. Sebille turned to Rahmius with a coy grin on her face. "A quick little chat with that Griff guy and then I'll be all set to leave this place when you are."
Rahmius was beginning to have some slight doubts on this new elf companion. The way she just so effortlessly gutted his fellow kin without a thread of hesitation, this woman was far more lethal than he could have anticipated. Sebille caught this and raised an eyebrow at his concerned expression.
"Something the matter, lizard? Not having second thoughts about me are you?"
Rahmius shook his head. "Just surprised is all"
"Good." Sebille sauntered past him and everybody else. Lohse let out a whistle. "Gotta say, you sure have some interesting taste." Rahmius ignored the mage's comment. Turning and following after Sebille to make sure she didn't gut anybody else.
Seems he would have his hands full with this elf.
A bit of a weak start, but I just wanted to have an excuse to skip Fort Joy, as we can all agree getting out of that place is more annoying then anything. Things will get more interesting next chapter though!
Until next time.
