This is my eighth chapter of Complicated Lived: Part 3
Pairings: Kodi/Kirby, Balto/Steele (Slash)
It was quite a while for Dusty to start building her Chakra up. "Aniu told me to stay and concentrate," He said to herself, but images of Ralph surrounded her mind. "No, I gotta figure out who I am" She tried to get away and stay focused. She breathed in and out, but she eventually gasped when she saw some images of strange animals with glowing red eyes. She panted hard like she was going through a fierce battle. "once again, she closed her eyes and felt instant peace until a beautiful singing voice can be quietude like behind her. Opening her eyes, she quickly turned around. "Who's there? She started to look around but passed a little field mouse. "Oh *she walked up and leaned her head down* "Where did you come from, little guy? She asked. The mouse looked up and howled then was carried away with the wind.
"Wha-"She looked ahead and saw a multiple wolved coming tree by tree. "There's more? She asked, assuming Hank and Keno gained an army. She quickly thought that judging by energy; she wasn't that strong as Kirby or Ralph, so they are differently going to tear her apart. He knew her only strategy and howled. In the boiler room, Kirby was sleeping under the self, and his beloved was sleeping under him until Kodi's ears picked up something. 'Kodi, what's up? His partner asked. 'My wolf senses are tingling. Kirby got off of him "You hear that howl? He asked, trying to squeeze out and turn to him. It took Kirby a while to remind himself that his mate is part-wolf and told Kodi. "I kinda forgot as well, but Dusty is in trouble? He started towards the entrance. Kirby got up and stretched his body, Kodi waited and stared "Damn, I'm one lucky dog to be able to hit that" He said in his mind. After he was done, he walked by his side. "Aren't you going to stretch? He asked. No offense, Kirbs, I'm not old yet" He said. Normally, those keywords would unset him, but since it was not Ralph, he didn't mind him saying it. In fact, he accepted it and licked his cheek. Kodi couldn't leave his mate without a gift so he gave him a little shake of his hips. "Teasing this old dog? He asked
Kodi laughed. "Let's go, Prince Charming," He said before running towards the boathouse to tell his father. 'I wonder how Coleman is doing? Kirby asked before catching up with his mate. Balto and his boyfriend, Steele, were talking about how his son and Kirby came to be. "It all started at the hospital. Kodi told me that a hammer fell on his head, then one thing led to another. Judging from the tiny details, Steele can already read between the lines. "Dad, Steele," Kodi slowed down, and Kirby panted as he was coming up. "Kodiak, what's the matter? Balto asked. "Dusty is in serious trouble; I heard the tone of her howl." He said. 'Say no more, what is it you need? Steele stepped in. "Steele, I thought you wouldn't bend on glory and fae anymore, Jenna asked. "Sorry, old habits die hard,' He explained to his ex-love interest. "If I know better, I bet that Hank and Keno have sights on her. "I'll go, I've got a score to settle with them," Kirby said, wanting to prove he's still strong. He said.
Everyone looked at him, including his mate. "Uhhh, why are you all looking at him like that? He asked dimwittedly. "Kirbs, I saw what they did to you, how strong they are,' he said. "Kodi, you know that they took my dignity from me" He started to run, but knocked by Balto. He slowly got up until he froze by Kodi, who pinned him. "I get that, but after witnessing that massive pile of blood, I cannot risk losing you again. "But we did everything together, and we face those evil dogs once before. "That was cause we had some support," Kodi explained. "Kir-son *Balto came up and lowered his head* "Kodi's right, I can tell that he loves you deeply and saw how sad he looked while dating Lily, he couldn't stop thinking about you even if he moved on. "I agree with Balto; you mean the world to Kodi. Kirby surrendered those words and started to think this through.
Kodi slowly got off of him as he felt he got the message in his brain and waited for him to stand up. "Please, I lost you once, I don't wanna lose you again, especially since our pup has arrived" He pleaded. "Kodiak *Jenna talked up by her son* "did I hear right, you're a father? She asked. "Mom, the correct word is again," He said. "Huh, I'm confused," Jenna raised an eyebrow. "Kodi got Lily pregnant," Balto explained to her. "Really, that's great," She happily said. But I told her that I'm still deeply committed to Kirby, so my mate at the time had agreed to co-parent" He gave full details. Jenna's kept smiling cause she lived with Lily now. "Anyway, Kirby, Coleman will grow up without one of his fathers, and I can't bring him on my job at the age he's at" Kodi was telling his mate about the severe efforts.
"So, am I setting a bad example for our son? Coming from my perspective, I thought Balto would seal my spot and claim fame and glory, but I ended up letting it go to my head, so to protect my title, I had to prove my worth" Steele came up. Kirby heard what he was saying and whimpered. Kodi, you don't know how much of a jerk I was being, I don't want people to see me as weak," He said. Kirby signed, and Kosi allowed him to get up, Kodi affectionately nuzzled his mate. "You're strong enough to me so what if you don't do the mail anymore, I'll always be my number one. They parted, "Besides, you would've been outnumbered even with Steele" He made a valid point. Kirby laughed and walked passed him and sat down by Jenna and Balto while Steele stood by Kodi.
"Make sure you give Hank and Keno hell for me," Kirby said as a last resort. "Of course, nobody messes with my mate," He said, seeing him as his most treasured possession and told his parents to watch over Kirby. "We won't let you down, Kodi," Balto said. "Steele, please don't show off again," He added. "Ha, you think I'd let you hog all the glory? The former baddy said, chuckling which Jenna annoyingly rolled her eyes. 'You better come back alive," Kirby demanded. "I love you to my Prince Charming," Kodi said, bring jokingly sarcastic to his comment. He gave Kirby a quick heartfelt nuzzle before the two ran off to save Dusty.
Y'all thought that Balto would go too, but now that Kirby is part of the family, Balto felt the need to spend some bonding time with him. Two years and I got around to this, and hope the fandom will accept me back onto their ship (get it). Anyway, This chapter features a very familiar character, Muru, and there'll be more from Wolf Quest. The song "Who You Really Are" fits perfectly with Dusty's discovery. There's also a particular fan-favorite duo next chapter. As expected, this will be Hank and Keno's last day in the world and is going to be a memorial service for ArcticWolf91, who disbanded from Fanfiction in 2006. I since carried on his legacy as well as CatWhoHas14Tails.
ArcticWolf91 & CatWhoHas14Tails may return in the future, but A Story Of The Forbidden Love really changed how I viewed the two dogs and an even greater inspiration on Kodi and Kirby's relationship. Not to mention that the story helped me which path I shall take.
