Prologue

Octavio Smyth was an ordinary boy growing in La Push.

He is the son of a boxing champ who was a hero to him. His dad's name is Romeo Smyth, the native American boxing champ. He looked much like the Quileute tribe. His mother, Angelina Fell, was a white woman from Folks. Octavio inherited more pale skin like his mom, but instead of blonde and blue eyes. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Growing up wasn't exactly easy for anyone.

Octavio had a normal childhood even though he did have asthma briefly.

He grew up and noticed something was off.

Octavio liked playing with dolls; his friends were girls and even acted like one. He was bullied but felt it was harder to act like a boy.

So, one day he went to his father and asked him, "Will you teach me to box?"

His father was gapped but surprised.

His son never showed much interest in boxing lessons. Thou, his father, had always believed his son was more books brilliant since he wanted to get into a good school and education.

Octavio worked hard and kept his mental focus.

That is until, by the time at thirteen years old, Octavio felt something was wrong with his stomach that had gotten so bad.

They rushed to the hospital.

That Doctor Cullen gave his diagnosis.

"You are I.S."

Octavio and his father questioned him.

"As you can see that I.S. is a term for Intersex means that they are neither male nor female. You said that you noticed your chest is growing a bit."

"Yes, I thought it was because of fat," Octavio said. It was the truth.

"Well, we checked that blood test was that physically you are a boy." His dad cut him off. "Wait, what do you mean physically?"

"Physically, he looks like a boy, but DNA and signs of breast growth. He is a she?" That was what the Doctor told father and son.

"I would suggest making a decision soon because you will need hormone pills and surgery if you wish." For the past few days, Octavio wasn't sure what he wanted.

Octavio didn't even want to go to school since he feared what people would look at him now.

One day, his father decided they should go for a walk.

They went to the cliff over the ocean as his father said to him, "Octavio, you know your mother was something else. Always happy, energetic, and giggles every time something makes her want to laugh. We married despite the protest of others and when she was pregnant. They wanted us to have an abortion."

'Abortion?'

Octavio feared that they didn't want him.

"The doctors said it was because her body was frail and poor health. Your mother." Romeo laughed a bit. "She just told him. 'You can kiss my ass!' She grabs her purse and me. Her little hand had quite a grip on my arm and yelled in the hospital. "You shouldn't go to Dr. Harper no more, for he likes to tell women to kill her unborn children." I'm pretty sure that we terrified everyone, and the last thing I heard was that Dr. Harper was embarrassed to see the patient since that day. I had never seen such an angry face she made, and despite the fact, I was worried. She told me, "Honey, I want to give this child a better life than I ever had. Please, let's give our baby a chance."

Octavio sniffs and cries. Romeo hugged his son and said, "Live proudly and never regret your decision. Boy or girl. You are my and your mother's child."

Octavio couldn't sleep that night. He stayed up and made a list of the pro and cons of being with a boy or girl.

So finally, he decided to be a girl.

Romeo had paid, and their insurance had covered everything.

It was the head surgeon doctor is Carlisle Cullen, who performed it and became a success.

Now he looked somehow more beautiful and, oddly enough, looked like his deceased mother. They had to change his legal documents and name to Brenna Angelina Smyth. Though everybody in town knew who she used to be and was dubbed as Freak.

It hurts, but she knew that someday they would accept her as who she was.

That is until Embry Call imprinted her.

Reviews are welcome.

I figured they bring a much-needed drama, so yes. This is happening to people who were born or discovered later in life.

Fact: Intersex is a general term used for various situations in which a person is born with reproductive or sexual anatomy that doesn't fit the boxes of "female" or "male."
