A Drift in the Dark
Anger was boiling to the surface. His frustration mounting as his metal feet dragged through the hot sand of the forsaken planet. He could sense the man he was looking for at the edge of his mind. Yet he still remained allusive. Years he had always wanted his revenge and it was at the tips of his fingers. But every time it felt like he could grip his hands around it, it slipped through his grasp. He could no longer contain his anger.
"Kenobi!" Maul screamed into the sky. "I'll find you Kenobi!"
However, as he dragged on and the hot day turned to a cold night, Maul collapsed onto his knees. Breathing heavily from the long days track. His hand digging into the sand. Vengeance was so close yet he couldn't catch it. Kenobi remained allusive. Out of reach. Maul growled at this fact. He would never find the accursed jedi at this rate. Doubt crawled into his mind. He had lost so much. His place by his master's side. His brother at the hands of that very man. His rulership over Mandalore. The rejection of his apprentice. Now his revenge was being denied. Was he just destined to fail at everything? As the fog of uncertainty fell a small bit of light pierced throw it.
Yes, he would continue to fail if he continued on his own like this. However, there is another way. His failures were because he was on his own. But if he had another he could succeed. And there was only one who could help him.
Bridger. Maul grabbed his staff with both hands as he pulled himself back to his feet. I'll coming for you.
Maul turned around and began the long walk back to his ship. The boy had rejected him but his defiance couldn't last forever.
You will soon see things my way. A toothy grin crossed Maul's face. "One way or another my apprentice."
A fog swirled around her as she stood in a cold dark abyss. Was she dreaming? She had been having a lot of disturbing dreams lately. Something about this one just felt off.
"What have we here?"
She spun around to find herself in a dark hallway with a dark figure standing over her. A flash of red crossed her vision. She then was suddenly on the ground.
"Where is he?" The figure growled at her with their hand over her face.
A scream echoed through the darkness. She could swear it was her own.
"You don't know the power you have." The voice said in wonder. She was in a room with broken monitors. Her arms and legs restrained to a table. "I will show you."
More screaming echoed around her.
Her surroundings changed once again to a cold white mass nearly enveloping her. A dark hand reaching through towards her.
The dark room she was now in lit up with a green and a black light. The black one moving with her hands. It clashed against the green. Repeatedly. Each strike feeling more vicious then the last. The the green light fell replaced by blue eyes. They were filled with confusion and pain. She raised the black blade higher into the air.
"Sabine?" Sorrow filled the voice of the blue-eyed boy on the ground before her.
Then she began to bring the blade down on Ezra.
Sabine shot out of her bed. Her breath heavy. Her clothing sticking to her skin. She looked around confirming that she was in her room aboard the Ghost. Sabine kicked her bed sheets aside to let the cool air grace her hot skin. She flung her legs to side of her bed so she could sit up probably.
"It was just a nightmare." Sabine said to herself while trying to get her breathing under control. She ran her hand through her sweat soaked hair. "Just another damn nightmare."
A growl escaped her throat. Sabine grabbed the nearest thing she could not even knowing what it was that she had got a hold of. She didn't really care. She flung the object across the room and a satisfying thunk met her ears. The satisfaction was short lived as the reason for her frustration was still present. The nightmare.
Sabine had been plagued by them ever since Dathomir. Having been possessed had shaken her. Watching through her own eyes as she attacked Ezra and being unable to stop herself. The Mandalorian was helpless as she unleased an assault against her friend. It was only thanks to Ezra's quick thinking that she had been freed of the Nightsister spirit. However, the experience had stuck with her. The nightmares played out differently but always ended the same. With her standing over Ezra preparing to strike him. Something was different about this nightmare. This one left her feeling cold.
Sabine looked at her clock and seeing how early it was she let out a sigh. The past week had told her that she wasn't going to be getting anymore sleep. She might as well get to the refresher and wash off all the sweat while everyone else was asleep. The sooner she got off the ship to make her rounds on Chopper Base the sooner she could avoid anyone's questions.
She got up from her bed and was about to gather her things before heading to the refresher when she noticed something on the ground. The very item she had grabbed just moments before and threw across her room. The very item that plagued her dreams. Sabine walked over to it and grabbed the hilt, and picked it off the floor. She rotated it in her hands eyeing every detail. The Mandalorian knew what it was. What it meant to her people. What it symbolized. The Darksaber.
Sabine was at a lost what to do with it. The weight of what was in her hands seemed too much to her. Maybe she should give it to Kanan. He would know what to do. But would that offend her ancestors. To give this legendary Mandalorian weapon to a jedi. With a bit of frustration, she walked over to her pack in the corner of her room and stuffed the lightsaber into it. Until she figured out what to do with it it was best to just keep it hidden away.
Once she was in the refresher, she noticed the bags under her eyes in the mirror. Hopefully she would be done and off the ship before anyone saw her. Once she was done, she suited up and made sure her helmet was securely on as she exited the Ghost into the arid air of Atollon.
Making her way to the shooting range she started to inspect her WESTAR-35 blasters. Sabine set up her target and took aim. After several shots she took a look at her work. To her dismay none of her shots hit the center of the target. They didn't miss the target entirely but still far from her best work. She set up another target, then another and another. Each time it seemed she was getting sloppier. Sabine was starting to grit her teeth when she felt some sort of tingle before she heard him.
"Wow." Ezra said with the sightless hint of sarcasm. "Nice work."
Dank farrik. She turned to face her friend. Why him?
At least she had her helmet on so he didn't see her frustration. Or see how tired she was.
"I'd like to see you do better." Sabine challenged holding out one of her blasters. She was giving him a cocky smile only to remember she still had her helmet on.
"Well," giving a smile of his own walked up at took the blaster, "if you insist."
His confidence seemed to be oozing out of him as she watched him set up his target. Once he was ready, he opened fire on it. She could see that all of his shots either hit the center or close to the center of the target. Sabine let out a huff waiting for Ezra's smug boasting but instead he turned to her with a look of worry on his face.
"Sabine," Ezra's voice was soft as he seemed to stare straight through her helmet and into her eyes, "are you alright."
Damn. This was what she had been hoping to avoid. The last thing Sabine wanted was everyone worrying about her over her lack of sleep. Especially Ezra. Least he finds out that he was part of that reason.
"Of course, I'm alright." She tried to state firmly. "Why wouldn't I be?"
"The rest of us have barely seen you in over a week." He pointed out as he stepped towards her. "And you're wearing you helmet all of the time I see you."
"I'm a Mandalorian." Sabine attempted to use her faith but even she could tell her excuse was halfhearted.
"Sabine." Clearly, he didn't buy it either.
Damn Jedi and their knowingly concern nature. Ezra's soft voiced prodding was beginning to break her resolve down.
"Ezra, I-" Her tongue was beginning to betray her. Ready to spill her burden. He wouldn't mock her or belittle her. None of them would. Then the call came in.
"All Specters," Hara's voice came through their commlinks, "report to the briefing room. Commander Sato has a mission for us."
A moment of silence followed between them before Sabine was able to say anything.
"Well, we should get going."
"Yeah," he sighed, "I suppose we should."
Sabine had come so close to spilling everything to him. Her nightmares. Him coming near to his end by her hand in them. The strange feelings she always got afterwards. She couldn't help but debate with herself on whether or not to just tell him everything as they walked in silence to the main building.
Hara was already in the briefing room with Commander Sato and Chopper at her side by the time Kanan and Zeb arrived and joined them around the holoprojector table. Now they were just waiting for the youngest two of their crew. Hara was a little apprehensive at seeing one of them. Sabine had been avoiding them. That much was clear to her. It was like when the young girl had first become part of her crew. Reclusive and slow to trust. It concerned her. When Hara brought it up with Kanan he said he had sensed something off about Sabine ever since Dathomir.
This had only made her worry more. Little was known about the planet. What stories came from it were of a dark and twisted world inhabited by witches and dark magic. When Kanan described being possessed by a spirit it scared her. Cold and dark anger emanating from the spirit is how he had described it. That had scared Hara. Kanan seemed to have handled it well enough but she didn't know how Sabine was doing.
When Ezra and Sabine entered the room Hara noticed her Mandalorian crewmate had her helmet on. The young girl was hiding. She shared a look with Kanan and could tell that he picked up on it as well. Hara couldn't deny that it aggravated her that Sabine was closing herself off. Maybe it was something to do with her Mandalorian culture or maybe the girl was just to stubborn to talk about her issues. Force knows how long it took to get Sabine to open up when she joined them. Now Sabine seemed to falling back on her old behavior. Hara was going to rectify that.
"With everyone present lest begin this briefing." Sato's voice broke her from her thoughts. He pushed a few buttons in front of him and activated the holoprojector. A map of the Atollon and sounding systems came into view. "About an hour ago we picked up a faint signal in a neighboring system."
"Any idea what it is?" Kanan asked.
"No," Sato shook his head, "but it is on a repeating cycle."
"Hmm," Zeb scratched his chin, "that could prove to be problematic."
"Yes." Sato nodded in agreement. "If the Empire picks it up and investigates it-"
"They might investigate the surrounding systems." Sabine pointed out.
At least she was getting involved much to Hara's relief.
"Leading them straight to us." Ezra added.
"Correct." Sato said with a smile, seemingly pleased with the young rebels' assessment. "Captain Syndulla has requested the Ghost Crew to take on the mission to investigate the signal. You are to leave immediately and find what is broadcasting the signal. If you find it to be a threat to this base deactivate as you deem necessary."
"Yes, sir."
It didn't take them long to get airborne and into hyperspace. It would only take an hour to get there. Plenty of time to get through to the stubborn girl.
"Sabine." pushed the button to activate the ships intercom; she looked at Kanan sitting beside her. He nodded. "Could you come up to the cockpit? I need you help with something"
"Alright, I'm on my way."
Kanan got up and left the cockpit. They had agreed that she would be the one to talk to Sabine.
"What do you need, Hara?"
She turned around to see that Sabine was still wearing her helmet. Which only told Hara how much Sabine was trying to hide if she was still wearing it even here.
"Yes," with a push of a button, the cockpit door closed and locked, "we need to talk."
"Have a seat, Sabine." Hara stated firmly staring hard at the girl. She saw Sabine tense up and just stand there before a moment before she gave in and walked over to the copilot seat. "Helmet off."
"What?" Sabine's voice stuttered. "Why?"
"Why do you have it on?" She countered.
There was a moment of silence between them. The two just staring at each other. Hara was prepared to push harder to get Sabine to do as she asked. However, it was unnecessary as the Mandalorian began to slowly remove her helmet. She was taken aback at the sight before her.
Sabine's hair was a mess. Her skin was slightly paler than usual. There were bags under her tired eyes, which were also bloodshot.
"I didn't want anyone to see me like this." Sabine said softly. Hara gently placed her hand on the young girl's shoulder. "I haven't been able to sleep well since Dathomir."
She started to describe what it had been like to be trapped in her own body. Unable to stop herself from attacking Ezra. It was like how Kanan had described it to Hara and how unsettling it was but it appeared that Sabine was taking it a lot harder.
"I have been having nightmares ever since." Sabine sounded exhausted. "This last one felt so… different."
"Different how?" Hara asked while giving Sabine's shoulder a gentle squeeze.
"Like I'm trapped in my own body again but not." The girl was trembling at this point. "The feelings I feel are cold and dark but they are my own instead of something foreign. The only thing that's the same is-"
"Is what?" Hara asked quietly. She didn't want to be to forceful and have Sabine to retreat back into her shell.
"I…" Sabine hesitated for a moment. "I'm standing over Ezra and about it strike him with a lightsaber. Then I wake up."
Hara was a little shocked to hear that detail. Over the years since Ezra had joined their crew, he and Sabine had become rather close. The idea that either of them, let alone anyone of her crew, hurting one another was ludicrous. She pulled Sabine into a hug.
"Could I just stay here." Sabine asked. "Just the two of us until we get there."
"Of course."
It wasn't long before they exited hyperspace into the sector the signal was coming from. Hara called the crew to the bridge. Sabine put her helmet back on before they entered. Hara couldn't help but sigh at that. As the crew walked into the bridge, she pinpointed the single and head for it.
"We're approaching a ship." Hara stated as they drew near a rather large freighter vessel. "Transponder reading it as the Mare."
"Seems someone turned the lights off." Zeb pointed out as he peered out the window.
Hara looked closer and saw that indeed that there were no lights coming from the Mare. The engines were dead. The ship was just drifting through space. Yet it was still emitting a signal. She tried to hail them.
"Mare, this is the Baku." Hara began to broadcast on any channel, using the codename Sato assigned for the mission. "Are you in need of assistance."
The crew waited and waited but no answer came through. Not even static. There was nothing but the quiet void of space as they got closer to the Mare.
"Well, this isn't creepy at all." Ezra voice deadpanned.
"Now's not the time, Ezra." Kanan scolded the boy.
"I'm with the kid on this one." Zeb said still eyeing up the ship. "This is just unnerving. This thing being so close to home base."
"Zeb run a scan on the ship." Hara chose to ignore the boys' nervousness and stayed focus on the mission. "I'll keep trying raise them on the comms."
"Marethis is the Baku. We picked up your signal. Are you in need of assistance?" Her continued attempts her met with further silence. "Zeb?"
"I'm detecting limited power reading." He informed her. "I'm picking up life readings as well."
"Why aren't they answering?" Ezra was starting to sound uneasy.
"They could be having problems if they only have limited power." Hara pointed out hoping to put the boy at ease.
"Well, we could find out." Sabine said, her finger pointing at a particular part of the ship. "They got a small hanger."
Hara looked over and indeed there was a hanger but there was a problem.
"The shield is down." Which meant it was open to the vacuum of space.
"Chopper should be able to take care of that." Hara said. "He should be able to go out and see if he can get the shield up or doors close then pressurize the hanger."
Chopper began waving his manipulator shanking side to side while letting out beeps and wumps. Sabine's head fell on the dashboard.
"The ship isn't haunted, Chopper." She groaned as Hara moved the ship into the hanger. "Just go in and get it done. There could be people who need our help."
Chopper mourned as he turned around and head for the cargo bay. After sealing him in Hara dropped the ramp to let him into the hanger. It wasn't long before the hanger doors were closed and the bay was pressurized.
"Good job, Chopper." Hara praised her droid. "See if you can look up any records on what's going on. Everyone else gear up and head in. I'll stay here keep the engines warm and keep trying to see if I can get anyone on the comms."
As most of them left, Kanan stayed behind.
"So?" Kanan ask letting the word hang in the air between them.
"You should talk to her when you get the chance." Hara said softly.
"How bad is it?"
"She shaken. She needs some support."
"Alright. I'll talk to her once this mission is done."
"What do you mean you can't find any records?" Zeb asked Chopper as the group stood by a console by the exit out of the hanger.
Kanan could sense his uneasiness.
Chopper responded with some peeps and wumps. The records seem to have been erased.
"Why would someone do that?" Ezra asked is voice slightly tense.
Kanan had to admit this was getting highly suspicious. A ship getting so close to there home base. No answer to hails. Just enough power to have life support and emergency lights. And now all the records were gone.
"Can you get a map of the ship?" He asked the droid. Chopper was quick to confirm and gave a projection. The ship was quite extensive. Several large cargo bays spread out across five decks. All connected by halls. The engineering room was at the back behind them. A second hanger on the other side of the ship. At the front of the ship was living quarters for the crew and the bridge.
"So, how should we go about this." Sabine asked.
"Sabine, you'll head for engineering, maybe you can get the power back up and running." Kanan directed. "Zeb, Ezra, the two of you will search the cargo holds. Chopper and I will head for the bridge see if we can figure out what's going on. Being on the lookout for the crew. Maybe they'll inform us on what's going on. Understood everyone?"
They all nodded and they left the hanger. They went their separate ways at various junctions to do their assigned task. It wasn't long before Kanan made it to the living quarters. He was met with silence. Although he could sense that there was something nearby.
"All Spectres." He quietly said into his commlink. "I think I may be getting close to the crew."
"Roger, Spectre One" Sabine's voice came back, "I'm almost to engineering."
"Roger, Spectre Five." Kan said. "Spectre Four and Six stay on task."
He got a confirmation from both of them. Kanan continued on, with Chopper at his side, the force guiding him through the hallways. Eventually he made it to the blast door to the bridge. He could sense the life forms on the other side. Being so close now he could sense their emotions. Overwhelming fear.
Cautiously he pulled out his lightsaber and signaled to Chopper. The droid rolled up to the door and began working at the controls until the blast door opened. He was met with the sound of sparks. The force showed him the destruction that had been done to the bridge. Consoles were torn to pieces. Chairs tossed aside. There was no way this ship was moving anytime soon.
"Power is about to come on." Sabine said over his commlink. A hum passed through the room as the lights came back on. "I think someone sabotaged the ship."
That got his attention. At the same time the fear he was feeling seemed to intensify. He turned to see it was coming from a side door. He slowly walked over to it and started to hear the hushed whispers coming from the other side. Kanan reached the door and pressed the button. He was quick to jump to the side just before several blaster bolts flew bast.
"Stay back!" A woman's terrified voice yelled. "Don't come any closer!"
More blaster bolts came from the room. With each one the terror kept rising. Kanan needed to deescalate the situation.
"Hold you fire!" Kanan tried to yell over the blaster fire but they just kept on coming. So, he decided to make a risky decision. "I'm with the rebellion."
The blaster fire stopped. The fear now had uncertainty with it.
"I'm coming in slowly with my hands up." He said calmly as he put his lightsaber back on his belt. And did as he stated. He found several people all huddled behind a makeshift barricade. A few of them with blasters.
"You're not that demon." The same woman from before said. The fear was still there but it was not directed at him.
"What de-" He was cut of when the entire ship shook. The lights went back out and the alarm began to blare. But there was more. A wave of cold darkness passed through the force.
"Kanan…" Ezra voice trembled on the commlink.
"I felt it." His own uneasiness slipping through. "All Spectres report in."
"Spectre Four here."
"Spectre Two calling in."
"Spectre Six," Ezra sounding more uneasy, "here."
There was a pause as he waited for Sabine to call in. He waited and waited but there was nothing.
"Spectre Five, report in." Kanan was getting more worried by the second. "Spectre Five. Sabine!"
Another vibration passed through the ship.
"I'm going to get her." Ezra's hurried voice stated.
Kanan was about to tell him to wait but knew with Sabine in potential danger he wouldn't listen.
"Is there anyone more of your crew on the ship?" He quickly asked the woman. She shook her head. "Follow Chopper, the droid, he'll take you to our ship."
They were hesitant at first but another vibration set them hurrying.
"Hara, I found the crew, they heading you way. I'm going after Sabine."
"Hurry." Hara sounded urgent "I think there is an overload. The ship could go at any minute."
Damnit! He started to run. "Zeb, get back to the ship!"
Kanan just hoped that he could get to Ezra and Sabine in time.
Moments earlier…
Sabine was putting her tools back into her pack. It was weird. Someone had torn the wires from the main console so no one could turn the power back on. The repair was simple enough. She found some spare parts and was able to replace the wires and reactivated the power. That didn't answer who would have taken out the power to the ship. One of the crew members? A stowaway? Why would they take out the power? This was a civilian ship. What was the gain.
The Mandalorian slung her bag over her shoulder and pulled out one of her WESTAR-35 blasters and made her way to the doorway. Sabine was going to need to get to the others quickly. If there was a saboteur then they need to find them quicky. As she walked into the hallway Sabine was about to call the others when a coldness passed over her. The hairs on the back of her neck standing up.
"What have we here?" A gravelly voice called from her side. She turned to see a dark hooded man slowly walking towards her. "I thought I felt a strange presence. No matter I'm here for Bridger."
He got close enough that Sabine was finally to make out the features that were under the hood. Maul. She quickly pulled out her other WESTAR-35 and started wildly firing both of her blasters at him. The Sith was quick to pull out his lightsaber and started to deflect her shots. Maul began walking in a quicker pace. Her shots becoming wilder by the second.
Maul stretched out his hand and her blasters were ripped from her grip. He was to close now. In an instant she ducked. A split second before he swung his lightsaber at her. Maul was quick to pounce on her. Grabbing Sabine by her arm and throwing her back into the engineering room. She cried out as her back slammed into the console. Her bag fell to the ground spilling it contents on the floor.
The Sith was not going to let up on her. He was already starting to approach Sabine. Without her blasters Sabine's eyes darted around to find anything she could use. They landed on a single item that had fallout of her back. She jumped for the hilt getting to her feet and activated the darksaber. Maul stopped in his tracks. His yellow eyes glaring at her.
"That," he growled, "does not belong to you."
Sabine took a one swing but Maul was quicker. With one move he disarmed her and with one kick from his metal foot sent her crash back into the console and collapsing to the ground. Then his foot pinned her to the ground.
"I'm here for Bridger." He knelt down and grabbed hold her helmet and pulled it off tossing it behind him. "Tell me where he is."
Ezra. It was always about him with Maul. The Sith had been hounding her friend ever since Malachor. She wouldn't let him have him. Sabine would be damned if she let Maul lay another finger on him after all the suffering he put Ezra through.
"I won't tell you anything!" She glared at him.
"You Mandalorians are so defiant." He said with a hint of amusement. Then he glared at her and raised his hand to her face. "Where is he?"
Suddenly a wave of pain slammed into her head. A scream slipped from her lips. Sabine scrunched her eyes shut as it felt like something was trying to burrow into her brain. She pushed against it. Trying to think up some kind of a barrier against the Sith probing.
"I'm. Not. Telling. You. Anything." She said through gasped breathes. "I won't let you have him."
"Your ability resist is…," Maul sounded perplexed, "intriguing. However, futile. I will get the information I need."
The pain intensified. Now the questions were echoing in her mind. Demanding she give up Ezra. She refused to give in. Sabine won't let any harm come to him. She pushed back harder.
"Get out." She gritted through her teeth.
The propping just try to dig in deeper. She pushed back more.
"Get." Sabine growled. "Out."
Maul only intensified his pushing into her mind. The demanding voice echoing louder.
"Get out of my head!" The Mandalorian screamed.
Everything went white. A wave passed through her. The pressure on her mind disappeared. The sound of a crash and a alarm blaring filled her ears. For a split second, Sabine felt like she was floating. Then everything went dark.
Ezra nearly tumbled to the ground as another tremor ran through the ship. His heart was racing. Fear gripping him with every step. Sabine wasn't answering her any attempt to get her on the comms. His fear only heightened when he felt a familiar dark presence and what that meant for Sabine. He was ignoring the calls from Hara to get back to the ship and let Kanan find Sabine. Ezra was closer. He wouldn't, couldn't let anything happen to her. He made it around the final corner to the engineering room and stopped dead in his tracks.
Down the corridor he could see into the room. The core was a mess. There where fires burning. What really caught his eyes was the colorful helmet on the ground just outside of the room. Ezra ran for the item. He practically slid across the ground when he dropped to knees and picked up the helmet. His throat tightened. Ezra looked into the burning room fearing what he would see.
To his relieve he saw no sign of a burning corpse. That relief was short lived with the knowledge that Sabine was still missing. He starched out with the force hoping to sense something. What he felt just filled him with dread. The cold presence was from before was quickly heading away from him and there was another. Sabine.
Ezra quickly got back on his feet, clipping Sabine's helmet to his side, and ran after the dark presence. After a few twists and turns, he came upon the second hanger. And his nightmare. The Nightbrother was sitting right there. The ramp of the ship was closing. With Maul walking further into the ship. Sabine, unconscious, cradled in his arms. Disappearing from sight as the ramp closed.
"No!" Ezra yell as he ran for the ship. The engines flared up sending him crashing back.
He got back and was ready to run back at the Nightbrother back to open fire on the hanger door. Ezra was sudden dragged back by a force pulling him back out of the hanger. The door closed just before another explosion rocked the ship.
"No!" Ezra slammed his hands on the door. "No! No! No!"
"Ezra!" A hand grabbed his shoulder. He turned to see his master.
"Kanan." His voice trembled. "He took her."
"Who? Who took her?"
"Maul." Ezra partially whispered.
Kanan noticeably paled. Then the ship shook once more.
"Kanan, Ezra, Sabine!" Hara was yelling over the commlink. "The ship could go at any second!"
Kanan grabbed Ezra by the arm and began to pull him into a run. There was no time to discuss. No time to contemplate. Each tremor came more and more frequent. They got into the hanger and ran into the Ghost's cargo pay where the crew of the Mare were standing. Kanan quickly closed the ramp and informed Hara they were abord then raced up the ladder. Ezra quickly followed.
"Zeb, blow the door!" He hear Hara yell just as he entered the cockpit. The sound of the Ghost's guns firing rippled through the ship before it violently shook. "Punch it."
The Ghost sped out of the hanger. It wasn't a second latter before a shockwave hit them. Hara quickly got them into hyperspace heading for Atollon. Zeb entered the cockpit just as Hara turned to look at them. Her eyed darting back and forth.
"Here's Sabine?" Hara's asked with concerned eyes.
"Maul," Ezra said as he collapsed, unable to keep himself up after everything that happened, "he was there. He took her."
This whole thing had been a trap. Maul had come for him once more. So then why? Why Take Sabine.
