Too Long

Second Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye of Eastern Central Command Center slowly walked to the office that she and Colonel Roy Mustang shared.

Roy Mustang, the gorgeous firestarter, was the heartthrob of East HQ. Even Riza had to admit that she liked him, more than a subordinate for that matter. She shook her head to clear those thoughts; the thoughts such as those are forbidden.

She walked into the office and saw the colonel already sitting at his nearly invisible desk. Paperwork sitting in piles on his desk surrounded him.

"Good morning Colonel," she said to the overwhelmed colonel.

"Heh, if you call it good,' he grumbled. Riza smiled and went to her desk.

When she got there she saw a sky blue envelope lying on her desk. She picked it up and she saw her name written on it in the handwriting of her colonel.

She sat down and opened the envelope; pulling out the note, she read.

Riza,

I don't know what prompted me to write this letter, buts it's been too long that I've had these feelings. Too long have I suppressed my thoughts of you, too log have I stolen glances at you, too long have I heard you talk in your sleep and have not comforted you, too long have I shared meals with you and not take a chance to ask you what you thought of me, and too long have I watched you cry tears of loneliness and not held you.

You plague my thoughts all the time now, I cannot stop thinking of you. I cannot stop thinking that if I told you my feelings I could be holding you in my arms right now. So I'm telling you now,

Riza Hawkeye

Second Lieutenant of Eastern

Command Center,

Ay faithful, loving, and respectful

Subordinate and friend,

I LOVE YOU

Tears fell from her eyes as she read. "it was too long Riza, I think now it is time," Roy's voice said from behind her. She jumped, she hadn't heard him come up behind her.

He took her hands and pulled her to him, he held her in his arms as she cried. And he will for all time.

The End
