-1A/N: I'm probably getting redundant with my stories but I like getting into the characters' heads. Maybe this is what Lee and Kara were thinking during their confrontation in "The Captain's Hand."
Disclaimer: They're Ron Moore's, not mine. I've come to terms with that.

What's Left Unspoken
"Poor Lee. Your life is so hard, isn't it?"
"Oh, you mean since I got shot?"
I know! Don't you think I know? Don't you think I feel really horrible about that? You're acting like I shot you on purpose. I would fight to my dying breath to protect you, you beautiful bastard. I thought you knew that.
Stop looking at him, you're going to start crying. Don't give him the satisfaction of seeing you do it. Turn around. Let him win the stare-down. It doesn't frakking matter.
If I was going to shoot you on purpose it wouldn't have been in the chest. I would have aimed lower. Dee? What the hell are you doing with Dee? You know you don't want her. You want to keep chasing me with the hope that someday I'll let you catch me because you've loved me since the day you met me. For as long as I've loved you.
Why aren't you walking over here, grabbing me, turning me around and kissing me? Get over here and possess me mind, body and soul. Make the world disappear until only you and I exist.
Why did you say that? Did you want to hurt her, 'cause you did. Look at her. Look at what you did. She actually looked away first. Turned away. Walked away. What? No dirty look? No 'Frak you, Lee?'
Is she crying? You idiot, you made her cry. You know she feels bad about the shooting. Why did you have to shove it in her face? Why do you have to shove all her mistakes in her face?
I'm sorry, Kara. I know you'd fight to your dying breath to protect me and I'd do the same for you, you beautiful disaster. You know I don't want Dee. Let me in. Let me take your pain away. Let me make the world disappear until only you and I exist.
All you have to do is ask. Turn around. Run to me. Throw yourself into my arms and give yourself to me, mind, body and soul.
Forget it. This is not a romance novel. Lee is not going to sweep you off your feet and take you away from all this. You blew it, you blew it, you blew it. Let's review: You killed his brother, you challenge his authority, you upstage him at the card table and in your viper, you used him as a replacement for another man, and, this is important: made it obvious that that's what you were doing, and your blossoming alcoholism almost cost him is life. You're the male ego's dream come true. What man wouldn't want you? Certainly not a man like him.
Ok, pull it together and turn around. Act like he pissed you off and not like he broke your heart.
"You wanna hear what I think happened to Buster, or not?"
Yes. But later, we're gonna talk, because despite what you think, there is an 'us.'
