My mind goes blank, then, in an instant, crystal clear. I look around me, and I'm not in my bedroom anymore. My surroundings are blurry, as if I need glasses, but I know what this is. I'm having a lucid dream. I take a moment to thank God for this, as my lucid dreams have been very powerful in the past. As long as I don't force anything, it's a fairly common occurrence I see moments in time, and then, after a seemingly random amount of time in the real world, what I see in the dream happens in real life. As if I'm seeing into the future. I sure as hell need that glimpse now, because I don't know what the fuck to do.

I hear a woman's voice, it's garbled at first, but it quickly comes into focus. I can't tell where it's coming from.

"Help me! Oh God, PLEASE, HELP ME!"

I don't recognize her voice, but I sprint towards where my gut is telling me it's coming from. Soon I see a figure underneath a pile of rubble, their body seemingly fading in-between that of a human and that of an eevee. Perhaps God is telling me I'm going to meet a girl who turned into an eevee like me? No matter, her leg is stuck underneath a beam of wood, and she can't lift it. I rush to help her, but just as I'm about to grab her, someone else does. I look to who else is here, and it's... Me? I guess it's going to unfurl in front of me and all I have to do is watch. I step back, the girl and myself (shit that's weird to think) doesn't seem to have even seen me. I hear myself talk.

"Don't worry, I'll get you out of here."

There wasn't a single bit of doubt or fear in my voice, guess it's because I'm having (had?) this dream. But how would I lift it when she couldn't? I'm not that big of a guy, and from the looks of myself this isn't too far away from now. Suddenly my dream-self is enveloped in some weird energy, and I lift the beam like it's a stick, then toss it several yards away (damn!).

"How... How did you do that?"

"It's a little hard to explain, let's focus on getting you out of here. Can you walk?"

My dream self helps lift the girl onto her feet, and she starts to collapse.

"AH! The beam must've broken some bones."

"Alright, we can still make do."

Once again I see myself wrapped in that weird energy, and I carry the girl outside (outside? I don't remember acknowledging I was inside...). Being the obvious thing to do, I follow myself. We wade through lots of rubble, but eventually find an open doorway. Heading through, I look back at where we came from. A church it looks like, or at least it was. Many of the features that would have made the place beautiful has worn down, instead emanating a creepy atmosphere to the place. Suddenly I hear another voice... This one I know all too well, and would rather forget. Jada.

"What the hell Will! YOU COULD'VE DIED!"

I see myself put the girl down on a nearby rock, careful not to hurt the girl even more. Then I turn to Jada.

"Well now, could've being the keyword. As you can clearly see, I am very much still alive. Not only that but I saved the life of another person!"

Jada stands still with embarrassment on her face, clearly she was too upset at me to notice I was carrying someone (how she managed that I have no idea). "But... How did you know she was even in there?"

"A true magician never reveals their secrets." I say smugly. Haha, now that's something I would definitely say! The new girl speaks.

"Regardless of how he knew, I'm glad he did. I don't think anyone would've found me until... Until..." she goes quiet. I stop her before she can finish that sentence.

"Hey now, no need to dwell on the what if, you're alive and that's all that matters!"

The girl smiles at me, clearly that was the right thing to say.

"You're right, and thank you again for saving me. What are your names?" She looks between me and Jada.

"Well, on paper my name is William, but everyone just calls me Will."

"And I'm Jada."

"Well then, nice to meet you Will, Jada! My name is-"

The dream ends. I'm woken up by the sound of my Dad's voice.

"Will? Are you ok? You ran in so quick me and your mother barely even saw you."

"I'm fine Dad, just... A bit flustered. The only person I could think to check on was Jada, and that didn't go all that smooth if you know what I mean."

He knows exactly what I mean. He gives me a simple "ah" then leaves me to myself once more. He knows better than to press me with questions.

I sit in my bed, trying to piece together as much information as I can from the dream. In the end it's not much, as the appearance of where I was quickly fades away. No matter, I'll see it again soon. I'm about to doze off again, when I hear my mother come to my door.

"Sorry to bother you again Will, but you have visitors."

Oh fuck. Is Jada here? No sense in keeping her waiting, knowing her she won't go away on her own. Exhausted both physically and emotionally, I go to the door. First I see Dylon, then, like I thought, is Jada. Dylon doesn't say anything, guess he's just here in case there's more yelling between me and Jada.

"Listen Will... I'm sorry for how I acted earlier. I was agitated and scared because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to go back to my life because of this transformation."

At first I don't know what to say, but I eventually find some words. "I get it, I'm a little scared too, but I'm gonna try to make the best of this I can, because my gut tells me there's no reversing this."

For a moment there's an awkward silence between us, then Jada speaks again to break it.

"Listen... Why don't we go on a walk together? Just me and you."

I almost immediately respond with no, but then, something stops me.

"Sure, do you have any place in mind you're wanting to go to?"

"As a matter of fact yeah. There's this road that hasn't been used in a long while and I was thinking we could go exploring down there."
