Thanks for the review already:) This chapter will just be to finish the last story, and if you have any prompts I will try to write them.

The first thing Merlin registered before fully waking up was the pain. It felt as though hot coals were embedded into his leg, burning through the bone. He has had worse but there was something about waking up the first time after an injury. You think it can't get any worse no matter how minor or major it was or seemed. Right now, it seemed awful.

With a groan he opened his eyes to see the sun shining through the little window in his chambers. Chambers? Why was in his chambers?

Then it hit him, the knife. The hot firey hell. With a groan, Merlin pushed himself up to his elbows.

" Oh hey, you're awake. Gaius went out to collect herbs, he said he'd be back soon," Gwaine said bringing in a cup filled with nice cool water.

Merlin immediately took it, his throat was so parched he wasn't sure he could talk if he wanted to. The cool water did help to sooth the dryness and helped to wake him up.

" Thanks. How long have I been out?" Merlin asked. It still seemed to be day. It was really hard to tell now a days. It took longer to get dark in the summer.

" Just an hour. More or less." He shrugged.

There was a moment of awkward silence where neither knew what to saw. A small bang from the main chamber grabbed both of their attentions.

" That would be the princess. He's been really worried about you Y'know? I think he wants to talk to you,"

Merlin gave the knight a cocky but knowing smile. "Always knew he was a softy,"

" I'll tell him you're awake," Gwaine said walking out and telling the king his servant was fine and talking.

A few tense seconds of awkward waiting later, the guilty looking kind opened the doors of his servants chambers and sat down next to the bed. He didn't know what to do and decided to fiddle with his hands. They were suddenly the most interesting thing in the room.

Arthur cleared his throat," Merlin. I just-well I was thinking and-well, I was thinking that maybe I shouldn't have been so-uh harsh." He said uncertainly. He hated this, admitting things he does wrong. Kings should do things wrong. Nor have to apologize.

" Harsh?" Merlin questioned.

" Yes Merlin, an action that is often-"

" Yes I know what harsh means you prat. I was questioning what you meant by being harsh. I though that me saying it in that context made it cl-"

" Alright alright, I was wrong okay. Don't make me say it again." Arthur grumbled, but it did feel good to apologize despite what it did to his self esteem. His friend was worth it. Leaving his best friend vulnerable to untrained knights was a bad idea, even for him.

" I shouldn't have made you such a target during training," Arthur said outright.

" I know Arthur, you wouldn't do something deliberately to hurt anyone. And neither would the knight that hurt me. It was an isolated incident. Don't be too harsh on him."

Damn the man, he was too kind. Arthur wanted to put the knight in his place, stocks would do some good to him. He'd feel even more guilty going against Merlins wishes though. So, he nodded instead.

They sat in mutual silence for a moment before Arthur started to talk again.

" I-I was scared Merlin," Arthur finally admitted. It was very strange. He had never said anything like this to anyone. Merlin too looked stunned but eventually smiled.

" I was too,"

Hope you liked the ending!
