After everyone but Jada leaves, I lay down next to Will on the hospital bed. He's asleep right now, the only sign that he's alive being his shallow breathing and the steady beeps of the monitor.

Jada places one of her ribbons on my shoulder. "He'll be alright Trixie... No one knows better than you and me that he has a soul stronger than anything else on earth."

"You're right but... I'm still scared. He's barely alive right now, and Vanessa..." I curl up on the bed, my mind in the past.

Jada let's out a sympathetic sigh. "You had no choice. It was self defense. Had yours and Will's roles been reversed, he wouldn't feel any remorse and would be focusing on how to help you get better."

"But I can't do anything to help... All I can do is just pray and hope..."

I close my eyes, and there's an awkward silence between us.

"Hmm? What's happening with the lights?"

"What?" I open my eyes and notice it's considerably darker suddenly. I suddenly remember the clip from Will's and Vanessa's sparring match. Will's jewel absorbs light when he's using his psychic abilities.

I look over to Will, and see nothing new or different with him... What's happening?

Suddenly we hear his voice above us, but it's distorted. "Woah... That's trippy."

Both myself and Jada whip out heads upward and see another Will floating around towards the roof... But he's like a phantom; we can see through him, and he's shimmering somewhat.

Both myself and Jada react saying the same thing at the same time. "WILL?!?! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!"

He just gives us a strange look as he floats. "Y'all need to stop doing that, saying the same thing in unison like that... It's kinda creepy."

Jada and I turn and look at each other with surprise. I didn't actually notice that we were doing it... Jada must not have either. It really was kinda creepy now that he says that. I shake it out of my head for now.

"Will! What's happening? How are you... WHAT are you doing?"

"To be frank, I don't know the how or what myself. I'm glad I am though. And what Jada said is true, had it been you laying against that rock and me holding the knife, I wouldn't feel bad. It's cold, but she was trying to kill us, and had you not been there I would have bled out and died. You're the reason I'm alive right now."

I can feel tears of a mixture of emotions swell up in my eyes as Will says this... He's right. "Please, tell me what I need to do to help you more. I can't bear to see you lying here unconscious..."

He let's out a sigh. I guess he was expecting that question and didn't look forward to answering it. "And that's something you yourself were right on... There's nothing you can do to help me more... But I still want you to come up here and see me when you can. Even if I'm not doing... Whatever this is, and talking back to you, I can still hear you. Do that, and I'll be happy. You've put yourself through a lot to help me as is."

Jada smiles between myself and Will. "Besides, I think me and you should hang out more... Talk girl things without Will here listening!"

Jada giggles, Will looks at her flustered and annoyed, and that makes me giggle too. "Sure thing Jada, I'm looking forward to it!"

We talk a bit more and I notice Will's... Ghost? Apparition? Spirit? Whatever it is, start to distort in color and shape. "Are you feeling okay Will?"

"I feel a little strange but otherwise fine, why do you a-"

Suddenly he disappears, spinning around into a single point like water in a sink drain. Terrified he just died I look over to his heart monitor, and see it still beeping... But it's irregular. Although chaotic is a better description, beating with no discernable pattern.

"Should... Should we get a doctor?"

For a moment myself and Jada hesitate, unsure what to do. As we were about to go get help the room suddenly goes pitch black despite the power still being on... Just as suddenly as the lights going out, a beam of light shoots out from Will's gem, and the beam widens and forms what can only be described as a hologram in the air.

Fragments of images appear in the hologram... Strange shining stones of an unknown material, sparkling in a rainbow of colors, a bright light of the same rainbow surrounding various people, now Pokemon, followed by said people laying waste to the town in an uncontrollable rage, their eyes glowing red as their bodies take on an altered form.

As the final images disappear the hologram itself and the shadow that enveloped the room quickly disperse, leaving all as if nothing out of the ordinary happened.

I look back at Will's heart monitor and it quickly becomes normal again, Will still unconscious.

Jada looks at me, terrified. "Wh-... What was that...?"

I should be unsettled at the very least, but I'm surprisingly calm. "That must have been one of Will's visions..."

"Did he seriously just have a vision of the entire fucking town getting DESTROYED?!"

I hesitate for a moment, trying to choose my words carefully. "I'm afraid so. We have to do what we can to change the future, to make sure that doesn't happen. For everyone's sake."

"But how do we even start?! We can't take on those guys that're coming, we don't know the first thing about Pokemon! The only ones we know that know about Pokemon is Will's unconscious ass and-"

Jada stops mid sentence and groans, slumping down in annoyance. "I can't believe we're going to have to go to my brother for knowledge... The kid with ADHD that's barely even passing in school and he's the only one that can help us save our home..."

We say goodbye to Will, and head to Jada's house in search of Dylon. We quickly find him in his room, several Pokemon books strewn about, him looking between the books and his phone, presumably looking at online sources of matters relevant to the current world situation.

He notices us as we enter, abandoning the books and turning off his phone. "Hey, what's up? You guys look like you're scared or something." He hands me a notebook and pencil.

So Will has visions of the future right? Well while we were up there by ourselves he had one, and it came out as a projection and we were able to see it. The entire town is in danger, and we need your help.

Dylon stares at it with surprise and rising fear. "... Oh. And since you're here talking to me and say you need my help that means it's Pokemon related isn't it?"

I give a nod, taking the notebook and pencil back.

In the vision there were these spherical stones that had a rainbow coloring to them, and they exuded a light of the same look that surrounded people, giving them a new form as they proceed to attack.

Dylon's face grows stern. "That sounds like mega evolution... Only certain Pokemon can do it, and even then it's supposed to be hard to control and maintain... First off, let's get this out of the way. Which of these did you see?"

He pulls out his Pokemon cards, showing us several Pokemon species that he says are capable of mega evolution. Jada and myself comb over the list, pointing to the ones we saw in the vision, and he pulls the cards we point to out of the list, combing over them as he mutters the species name.

"Charizard... Gengar... Houndoom... Banette... And Lucario..." He looks to us, and then back to the cards, groaning and facepalming. "We're fucked... These Pokemon have all sorts of type advantages against you two and only Jada has two type advantages, potentially three depending on which mega evolution this charizard is, one of which is cancelled out because of dual typing... Our best hope is praying that Will wakes up and gets in fighting condition before this happens."

Jada looks to me, fear taking over her. "This is terrible... There's no way Will can get back up in fighting condition in time! What are we supposed to do?!"

There's no point in sugar coating this, hell I don't think I could. "... We fight. We fight with every fiber of our being, and if defeat begins to come for us, we run like Satan himself has come for us."

A oppressive silence fills the room, none of us brave enough to break it. After a few moments I make to leave, and Jada follows behind me wordlessly. Neither of us say a word to each other, and I lead us to the church that we've had so much history with in the past few weeks, before I finally speak again.

"Our only real hope is training ourselves and getting even stronger than them. The first step of that is conquering our fears, so that we can face them without any hesitation."

Jada looks to me and appears like she's about to say something, but unable to find the right words as she stands there gawking. I walk slowly into the church, my chest tightening making it harder to breathe and my steps becoming more and more heavy the farther I go in. I practically force myself farther in, before reaching the center of the church, on the verge of a panic attack and running out screaming my head off.

I stand there, looking around slowly and hardening my will to the fear. It isn't for several minutes until I start to see the beauty and serenity in the place that I once saw what feels like an eternity ago. Remnants of painted glass windows, depicting important scenes in the Bible, worn down and abandoned instruments that I once occasionally played in my time here, the cross hanging near the back wall, with a much larger painted window behind it, miraculously undamaged as it shows what the artists interpreted of Golgotha at the time, the hill that Jesus was crucified and buried on. The English translation name of the hill... Cavalry.

It's when I fully take in the undamaged mural of Cavalry that my fear begins to dissipate. I kneel down facing the cross and give a wordless prayer to God, and walk out of the church with a tempered and sharpened soul.

Jada paces outside waiting for me, and gives a relieved sigh when she sees me. I give her a soft nod. "And now it's your turn to conquer your fears."

Jada bites her lip and looks away, uneasy. "You'll just laugh..."

"I promise I won't Jada. I'll help you in any way I can."

She hesitates for a moment before speaking again. "It's Will... In the entire time we dated he refused to argue, gave me tons of gifts just because he thought I'd like them even when I told him not to get me them, and would blindly follow me to hell and back just to make me happy..."

I look at her confused but attempting to understand, as these were all good things in my eyes. "You're afraid of him and that's why?"

"N-no, it's not quite that... I was afraid that with all the good he showed me and refused to show his bad to me, that he would end up mindless or end up being a monster after getting married... I'm afraid of what he hides about himself... And I can tell he's doing the same with you."

An awkward silence hangs over the both of us momentarily, before I sigh and break the silence. "I can't argue that's what he's doing with me... But he's genuinely a good person. After his mock fight with Vanessa, he realized his tactics were ruthless and lacked any mercy, and he was upset enough because of that to run away from everyone and shut us all out in, what I can only assume, fear of unintentionally harming us."

"Too bad that ruthlessness and lack of mercy is what's likely gonna get us through this mess... We're not gonna get anywhere with words and diplomacy."

"And that's exactly why we'll fight. Why we'll defend our home as best we can. For our families, friends, and even the strangers we have no connection to. Everyone is someone else's child, and no parent should have to bury their kid. Especially when the world is in such of a chaotic mess as it is now."

For several days we train ourselves, consulting Dylon with Pokemon moves and practicing them, visiting Will every day in hopes he wakes up. We find out that the 4 move limit that was in the games doesn't seem to apply, and we're able to master multitudes of moves before learning to chain them together for enhanced effectiveness.

I myself take extra care into learning Swords Dance, using it in combination with Double Kick, Quick Attack, Bullet Seed, Iron Tail, and Leaf Blade. Jada masters using moves like Disarming Voice, Swift, Moon Blast, and grudgingly Draining Kiss, as well as moves that hinder the opponent like Charm and Sand Attack.

It's on a break day from our training after visiting Will in the hospital, who's woken up but in no condition to so much as get out of bed, that a street gang of elementals comes into town, demanding money from passerbys as they laugh at the mention of calling the cops.

A Charizard, Gengar, Houndoom, Banette, and Lucario.
