Everyone stares blankly at what they are seeing outside: a little girl floating there. She has pitch-black hair that is so long it's covering the upper half of her face and wears black-and-white striped dress that's reminiscent of a prison uniform.
"I don't get it. What's a little girl doing out there?" Toji asked.
"More importantly, how is she even alive out there? The time vortex isn't exactly the safest environment without the right equipment." Adam states. "If you go out there without some form of protection, your body will be atomized; your very essence spreads throughout time and space without any hope of being restored." He moves towards one of the terminals on his left. "The scanner isn't picking up anything either, it's like she's not even there."
"Um, Adam?" Adam turns back and sees what got everyone so shocked.
The girl is gone.
"What the!?" Adam approaches the group and frantically looks everywhere. "Where did she go!?"
"This is just too weird…" Kensuke mutters.
"What if that was a ghost!?" Toji flails around. "What if we're hunted, man!?"
"Get a hold of yourself, Stooge. There's no such thing as ghosts!" Asuka scolds the jock, though if you'd pay close attention you could see her body shaking a little.
"Then how the hell do you explain what we just saw!?" Toji rebukes.
Asuka looks anxious. "I-It was just an optical illusion! Yeah, that's what it was!"
"Bullshit! Admit it, you're scared too!" Toji said.
"I am not!"
"GUYS!" Adam cries out, grabbing everyone's attention. "The girl is back."
They all look up to see the black-and-white striped girl floating calmly though further away then where she originally was. "What is going on?"
Suddenly, the girl turns around and starts to float away.
"Where is she going?" Shinji asks out loud.
"I don't know, but we're going to find out." Adam glances at the driver's seat. "Punch it, Hikari."
Hikari does just that. The Weltall charges at full speed towards the ghost girl, however, no matter how fast the ship went, it is nowhere close to catching up with her.
"Come on, go faster Class Rep!" Toji yelled.
"I'm going as fast as I can! That girl is just too fast!" Hikari said.
The ghost girl then goes through a wormhole with the Weltall following suit, but after going through it the ghost girl has disappeared.
"Eh? Where did she go?" Kensuke said.
"That was so bizarre." Shinji said.
Asuka stumps the floor. "She tricked us!"
Adam leans back in his chair. "It doesn't matter, we can't turn around so we might as well see where this wormhole will take us this time."
The Weltall exits the vortex and the first thing her crew sees is darkness. Darkness as far as the eye can see. But then they notice the stars surrounding them, like Christmas lights blinking in the night. It is then that they realize where they are…
"We're in SPACE!?" Asuka exclaims.
Shinji and Kensuke are in awe with their own stars in their eyes. "So cool!"
"Well, I genuinely did not expect this." Adam remarks.
"Will we be alright?" Hikari anxiously asks.
Adam nods. "Yeah, the Weltall should be able to withstand the vacuum of space." But then the entire room violently jerks back. "What the hell!?"
"We've been caught in a gravitational pull. We're being pulled in!" Kensuke states.
"Full power to the engines!" Adam orders.
"No good, the pull is too strong!" Hikari cries as she struggles to keep the ship steady. "We're going to crash!"
"Not again!" Asuka cries.
"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"
Adam slowly opens his eyes and lets out a pained moan. He grabs the seat of his station for support to pick himself up and as he does, he sees that the power is out and almost everyone is knocked out.
Shinji comes to but notices that he was touching something soft with his hands. When he looks, his face explodes in red as his right hand is grabbing Asuka's chest very tightly. Shinji tries to move it but this just gets the German redhead to moan as her eyes slowly open before snapping wide as she sees Shinji's hand squeezing her breast; not too soft or too aggressive.
"PERVERT!"
*SMACK*
'Oh boy.' Adam sweat drops. He notices something from the corner of his eyes and sees Rei getting up.
"Are you okay?" Adam asks concerned.
Rei looks up and slowly nods.
Adam manages to stand and walk towards Rei helping her stand. "Lets help the others."
Rei and Adam go to wake up the others through various means. Adam smacks Toji and Kensuke awake, making the jock try to punch out of retaliation while Rei lightly shakes Hikari until she wakes up.
"Are… we alive?" Hikari asks sluggishly.
"Alive, yes. But stuck in who knows where." Asuka remarks. "If I was in that seat none of this would have happened."
Shinji sighs. "Does it matter now? We're alive."
"Shinji's right. For now, let's focus on getting the ship up and running again." Adam goes up to his station and begins working with the controls, after a couple seconds the power comes back on as well as the monitor showing them where they are. The first thing they see is barren land, empty and grey with what look to be craters scattered everywhere. However, what draws their attention is how unnaturally dark the surface is.
"Weird, it kind of looks like the moon but... charred black." Kensuke remarks.
"A black moon…" Shinji said.
"..." Rei said.
"Well, it doesn't look like we'll be going anywhere for a while." A hologram of the planetoid appears. "For some odd reason the gravity here is about as strong as Earth's, which shouldn't be possible given its size."
"That is weird." Kensuke remarks. "So how do we get out of here?"
"Simple, really. Much like rockets do it, we just need enough thrust to break through the gravity well." Adam said. "But first, why not go for a space walk?"
"A space walk? You've got to be kidding me…" Asuka groans.
"C'mon, Red Devil. Where's your enthusiasm?" Toji asked.
"By the door, along with my hopes and dreams." Asuka retorts.
"You're a sad and boring person, Asuka." Adam quips.
"Sh-Shut up!" Asuka exclaims.
Adam stands up and walks towards the doors. "If I remember correctly, there should be space suits being stored in the hangar bay. If another wants to come just follow my lead." Everyone looks at each other before they all begin to follow Adam.
Outside the ship, a loud hissing can be heard as a small latch extends and opens outward and from within a white suit begins to walk out of it. Soon after, six more suits begin to appear in succession like clowns coming out of a car. They all begin to walk around, some try to jump but they are pulled back to the ground as quickly as they jumped.
"Wow." Shinji gushes out, his voice muffled by the suit's speakers.
"I can't believe I'm the first kid to ever venture into outer space." Kensuke said while holding his camera.
Adam is seen sitting on a rock. "Technically since we're in the distant past, you're the first living being to ever be in space."
"That's even better!" Kensuke exclaims.
"Humph, who cares about some barren rock floating in space?" Asuka grumbles.
"You know, you could show a bit of enthusiasm. After all, it isn't everyday a couple of teenagers that go into outer space." Adam states.
Asuka scoffs.
Adam's eyebrow twitches before he gets an idea. "You know, since space travel isn't even a thing yet, you can technically say that you are the first woman to ever travel into outer space. And the best part is that we have physical evidence to prove it."
Asuka's eyes widen before turning to Kensuke, who is recording everything with his camera. She smiles as my words sink in, 'the first woman in space... no one can deny me that title!'
Rei stares blankly at the barren wasteland. For some odd reason, she feels a pull to this place, something nostalgic and comforting.
Like she has come home.
Meanwhile, Shinji is hanging out with Kensuke when he notices something is off… or lack thereof. "Um, Adam."
"Yea, what's up?"
"Where did Ayanami go?" Shinji asked.
Adam blinks and soon looks around, realizing that the bluenette is nowhere in sight. "What the hell?"
Toji and Hikari walk towards him. "What's wrong?"
"Rei is missing."
"Wha- where did Wondergirl go!?" Asuka exclaims.
"Hang on, hang on." Adam pulls out a device and turns it on. On the screen, six red dots appear. "The space suits have trackers placed inside them, in case one of us gets lost or trapped." He points to a dot that's further from the rest. "The one furthest must be Rei."
"One of us needs to go after her. The question is who." Kensuke said.
"I'll go. Adam said. "Asuka and Shinji can come with me. You and the others stay and guard the ship."
"Why can't I come!?" Toji demands.
Adam gives Toji a look. "After what happened last time, do you honestly expect me to take you somewhere with a babysitter?"
"I do not need a babysitter!"
"The past says otherwise." Adam retorts making Toji grumble.
Adam and the EVA pilots proceed to track down the missing First Child, leaving their classmates to watch over the ship.
"So… wanna take a space walk down those hills?" Kensuke suggests.
Toji groans.
The group walk through the barren wasteland and they follow the locator beacon. "According to this, Rei is just 5 kilometers ahead of us."
"Why would Ayanami come all the way out here?" Shinji asked.
"Who cares, Third? Wondergirl probably saw something shiny in the distance and wanted to check it out!" Asuka states.
"She's not a dog…" Shinji grumbles under his breath.
"What was that!?"
"N-Nothing!"
"Quiet!" Adam cries, getting the pilot's attention. "We're almost there…"
They soon see a figure in the distance but as they get closer, they become perplexed. In front of them is Rei staring at what looks to be a long red pole that seems to be sprouting out of the ground. The thing that is perplexing is that she is simply standing there frozen like someone has pressed the pause button on her.
"Why is she just standing there?" Asuka asked.
"I don't know." Adam replies.
Suddenly, Rei raises her arms and grabs the pole. She begins to pull and with a single tug, the red pole comes out of its spot causing Rei to lose her balance and fall to the ground. Its structure is twisted in double-helical shape. Most of its length is straight and composed of two strands which are tightly twisted all-together
"Ayanami!" Shinji cries out and rushes towards her with the others quickly in toe.
Rei blinks and shakes her head in confusion as she notices her surroundings. "Where… am I?"
"Rei!"
Rei turns to see Adam and the other EVA pilots running towards her. "Adam…?"
"Are you alright!?" Shinji asks.
Rei nods.
"What the hell were you thinking, Wondergirl!? Waltzing out on us like that! We had to come all the way out here just to find you!" Asuka yelled.
"Is being harsh the only setting your brain defaults to?" Adam rhetorically asked.
"I am… sorry." Rei said.
The pole in Rei's hands suddenly begins to unwind and form a double-helical shaft and a defined spearhead implanted with a green gem leaving everyone surprised.
"What…?" Adam muttered.
"How the hell did it do that!?" Asuka exclaims.
"I… do not know." Rei said.
Suddenly, the ground begins to shake violently as cracks form all over the surface.
"We gotta get out of here!" Adam grabs Rei's hand and pulls her up. "C'mon!"
The group of four ran away as fast as they could, however, if they had stayed long enough they would have seen something writhing from the hole where the spear was and from within, a red eye blinked.
Kensuke, Toji and Hikari are standing by near the Weltall when everything suddenly starts to shake violently. Kensuke falls and Toji and Hikari hold onto each other for support.
"What's going on!?" Toji yells.
Just then they see the figures of Adam, Asuka, Shinji and Rei running towards them with Rei holding onto a bizarre-looking lance.
"You found her!" Hikari said.
"We need to go!" Shinji exclaims as he helps Kensuke stand up and walk inside.
Toji looks on as Asuka and Rei rush inside with Hikari and then turn to Adam. "What happened!? Did the Red Devil screw up again!?"
"Surprisingly no, now let's go!" Adam grabs Toji's arm and drags him inside as the hatch closes.
Console Room
Adam and Toji are the last to arrive as they frantically take off their suits and take their seats.
"Get us out of here!" Adam exclaims.
The Weltall rises from the ground and takes off in barreling speeds into the vortex, causing the entire planetoid to deviate from its path. The entire surface cracks and breaks down revealing what looks to be a massive structure that resembles a cup, with craters in several parts of its body. The structure begins to descend onto a nearby planet, however at the same time, a similar structure begins to descend as well; pure white contrasting the black.
The two structures clashed... and then there was light.

Finally finished. This chapter turned out to be pretty short, though I had a hard time keeping focus which is why it took me so long to upload.
