Jean: Ahh! Watch it!

Efram: Stop squirming you damn worm, you'll worsen the wound

As Efram and Mina try their best to tend to a wounded Jean, the de facto leader of the group strategizes their navigation around the city

Hermann: Whole East is completely ruined, either by zombies or the Reds

Karl: What's the quickest way to the cathedral?

Hermann: We could try this route, cut through the buildings then it should bring us to the front yard of the cathedral

Karl: Alright, sounds good

Karl: Efram, is he good?

Efram: Good news is, the bullet didn't hit bone so he should be fine. That is, unless if he keeps spazzing around like a baby

Karl: I can see that, he'll definitely make it

Karl pulls Jean off of the sofa, the kid may be still in pain from the wound but manages to brush it off

Jean: So, care to tell us what's the next plan? If it's even one

Karl: Hermann suggests we take the alleyways, it's the only safe route we can take

Eren: Again?

Karl: If we try to take the main road, who knows the Krauts may pop out again

Eren: Fine

Karl: Okay, everyone stacked up?

Efram: All good

Karl: Okay, let's go

The group, fully recovered, exited from their shelter and navigate through the building until they made it out and into the alley. Some zombies were on the way but Karl and Eren were able to deal with them easily. Further progress and on the side of the alley, they find a dozen of the undead Wehrmacht soldiers but they were being held back by a locked gate

Boris: Easy targets

Efram: Save your bullets, the gate should hold them back long enough

Not so long, Jean came out and saw the opportunity

Jean: I got them

Karl: Wait! Don't-

Jean shoots at the zombies but could not kill even one and worse, one of the rounds landed at the gate's lock, causing the zombies to break free. Hermann and Boris were able to kill all of the zombies but Efram was left appalled by the situation

Efram: Verdammt! I said just leave them alone, there was no need for it anyway

Jean: I wanted to do something

Efram sighed in disappointment from the kid and the group advanced through the alleyways, pretending that never happened. However, along the way, a pack of more undead was blocking their way

Karl: Those zombies must be civilians; I don't see them wearing any Wehrmacht gear

Hermann: Poor folks, let's just end them already rather than leave them like that

Hermann stops to think for a second and realizes…

Hermann: Here, free targets, who wants to go first?

The confused cadets looked at each other to see who wants to go first

Hermann: You know, how about all of you go at the same time?

Jean: But-

Hermann: You'll be fine, whatever you did back at that village, just simply do it again

Jean: Okay, uh

The cadets looked at the awkward Jean, but something's spawning right behind them. A glowing occult symbol flashing in the walls and suddenly, spits out living skeletons, literally nothing left but the bone

Eren: Plan?

Karl: We'll deal with the skeletons, you deal with the zombies

Eren: Alright

OST: Zombie Army Trilogy OST – City of Ashes 2

The survivors fend off the onslaught of undead overwhelming them. The cadets gun down the swarming civilian zombies while the veterans do the same, but on the fleshless creeps. Boris improvised by using his own gun to club the bony creatures into pieces while Efram resorted to his handgun to finish off the rest in close range, and on the other side, Marco and Jean fired their submachine guns in full auto to spray the living dead with 9mm but Eren was able to put down few with a proper shot in the brain

Marco: We need to get going!

Karl: Move on, we'll cover you

The survivors sprint forward while continuously shooting down more undead beings. But during the chaos, a Suicider runs head on towards the group but Marco, in a quick fashion, shoved the Suicider aside and throwing it towards the horde behind them, where Hermann quickly killed the explosive zombie, to which it combusted and killed everything around them. They eventually made it to the other end of the alley, where they find another safe shelter but more zombies in the way, Efram was able to throw two stick grenades upon the zombies and successfully killed all of them

Efram: Come on! Get moving!

The survivors hurriedly make it to the door and into the shelter where they locked themselves from the danger behind

Karl: Anyone alright?

Eren: Good

Mina: I'm okay

Efram: Barely

Hermann pats Marco's back after what happened

Hermann: I don't know how you pulled that one bit off, but it definitely worked

Marco: T-Thanks?

Boris: I miss my grandma's beef stew

Efram: I miss Berlin not being this piece of shit

Marco: How's the leg?

Jean: I don't know, splendid?

Marco: Really?

Jean: It'll be fine, nothing to worry about

While the survivors resupply, Karl gets the perfect view of outside

Karl: Gentlemen

Boris: What?

They all looked at the view and found the cathedral

Karl: That's the place, I assume

Jean: We're going to that place?

Mina: Looks huge

Efram: Well, if that's the place, so be it

Hermann: The next question is, how do we get inside?

Karl: We'll have to find out ourselves, let's go

OST: Zombie Army Trilogy OST – Cathedral of Resurrection

The survivors exit from their shelter and outside, a small group of German zombies have broken through the gate but Hermann was able to dispose all six of them

Hermann: I got them

Boris: Sure you did

More zombies appear from the left but Marco and Jean were able to shoot them and, properly, kill them, but when the last zombie showed up, Eren took the final kill, much to Jean's chagrin

Jean: Come on! I had him perfectly lined up

Eren: You'll find more. Besides, you might not even kill him by yourself without Marco's help

Jean: What?!

Efram: oh, for goodness' sake, will you two communicate with each other rather than stealing each other's targets?

Jean and Eren looked at each other in disgust. Meanwhile, Karl and Boris sweep the rest of the zombies in the streets

Boris: Chyort, this looks worse than Stalingrad in Thursday afternoon, da?

Hermann: Nothing like excess, huh?

Karl: We'll have to cross through these buildings, again

Efram: Stick close, but not bunched up. We'll make it

The survivors enter the building but one of them finds something else slips away from the group

Karl: Up the stairs

Mina: Wait, where's Jean?

Efram: *sighs* Goddamn it

Jean follows a weird static noise that leads him to a room with a radio, the source of the noise, and dead bodies around. Before he could check anything, Jean made sure the bodies are indeed dead by double tapping them in the head with his MP40, then he goes to fiddle around with the radio

Jean: How do you use this damn thing?

As Jean continues to mess around with the radio, one of the bodies unexpectedly slowly rose up but the cadet was too occupied with the radio, not realizing a dead German was about to attack him from behind. Efram showed up, and quickly shot the zombie in the head and startling Jean, who held onto his gun for a quick bit. Angry and with no explanation, Efram dragged Jean away from the room, holding him by the collar of his jacket

Hermann: Karl, check this out

Karl: What is it?

Hermann and Karl couldn't believe it, outside is the courtyard of the cathedral and what they're witnessing are German and Soviet soldiers who, despite the apocalyptic calamity ravaging Berlin, are still in a state of conflict

Karl: Fritz and Ivan are giving it all

Marco: Is that a good thing or?

Hermann: Remember when your idiocy tried to plead for help from these people?

Karl: Yeah, I don't think they're the type to get us a one-way ticket out of here, especially the Reds

Hermann: Any ideas how we can slip past them?

Karl: We could try sneaking through them and try not to get caught

Hermann: Or shoot our way through the other side?

Karl: I mean, that could be ideal, but we'll be massively overwhelmed

Hermann: Your call

After a minute of planning and the gunshots intensifying even more, the survivors opened the main door of the building and Karl scouts the area for a final time before starting the plan. He sees the Germans winning the ongoing battle and the Soviets being forced into a retreat while those who were left behind by their compatriots became fresh meals for the undead, be it German or Soviet

Karl: Looks like the Reds are backing out, now let's hurry before-

German Soldier: *In German* More!

A barrage of bullets quickly swept through the survivors, being mistaken as more Soviets attacking their ground. The terrifying roars of the MG42 fill the air and overwhelmed the survivors

Karl: Well, guess Plan B will do

OST: Sniper Elite V2 OST – Honor of the Star

The survivors jump into action, but they were not going up against mindless zombies, they're going up against the finest men of the Wehrmacht, or what's left of them. Amidst the fire, the MG42 was jammed and the two gunners desperately tried to fix the problem, Karl took aim with his rifle and killed one of the gunners with a clean shot, and the second one ducked in cover. Boris shot down three Germans with his PPSH, and when one German soldier tried to throw a stick grenade and landed near Efram's feet, Hermann threw the grenade back and saved both of themselves. While more gunfire echoes through the streets, the undead quickly swarm the area and intensifying the chaos even more, and the cadets were forced to be involved

Jean: Uhh, everyone?

Marco: Keep them off of Karl

Eren: On it

The cadets fight off the creeping undead soldiers, while Boris tackles a German soldier and beats him up with his bare hands and Karl shoots two more Germans with his 1911, but the survivors find themselves pinned down when a Wehrmacht sniper, sitting in a comfortable position at the cathedral's rooftop, maintains control

Hermann: Sniper on the roof

Karl: I got it

Karl takes a short hold of breath and shoots the sniper in between its eyes, its body losing balance and falling off of the roof and splat into the ground

Karl: He's done, let's go

Jean: Wait! Give me a moment

Mina: No time, come on!

The survivors rush inside the building at the other end of the street, Boris killed few more zombies until another safehouse was found, symbolized by a steel door and a green light. The survivors quickly rush in and shut the door. Though despite being lucky and escaping that early carnage, the survivors are concerned that the living soldiers of both armies have also become their problems

Hermann: Impossible, I thought the entire Army Group A was wiped out by the outbreak

Boris: Looks like the entire army is pushing deeper into the city, good luck to the poor cyka who has to deal with the dead Nazis

Karl: Guess someone didn't get the memo about the zombies

Jean: Are we even near the cathedral now?

Efram: We're there. So, everyone, I'd suggest you hydrate and pack enough ammunition because once we opened that door, we're officially in the shit territory

Jean: Great

Marco: Let's hope the leg doesn't slow you down

Jean: It's getting a bit sore now

Mina: And what about those "soldiers" outside?

Efram: Well, I don't like spreading news, but I suppose that means that the war is still on, despite the fact all of Germany is on its knees right now
