It's been a while hasn't. Life happened and I couldn't continue writing, but I'll try to update more. Been getting messages over the year of people saying they liked the stories I've been writing and I appreciate it. Writing the new chapter of "Stand up high school life" rn, hopefully I'll finish it soon. Thank you for sticking around.
It was one of those nights where Chrono couldn't sleep a wink. He'd woken up to go use the bathroom, but now he couldn't go back to sleep. He took a look at the clock and saw that it was already around 2 a.m. He attempted to try and relax, to take his mind off of anything else, but to no avail. Now, he's given up and is blankly staring up at the ceiling.
"I'm hungry." He got up and went straight to the kitchen. He opened the fridge, but soon remembered that he hadn't bought any groceries.
"Tch. The one time I don't remember."
He thought it through and decided to go buy some things. He might as well, not like he'll sleep anytime soon and the convenience store is pretty close.
He quickly changed and left the apartment building. He got to the 8/11 soon after, it was basically the next block over. He looked through the store and bought whatever looked appealing to him. By the end, he had three bags full of snacks (definitely bought too much).
He walked out the door, the sliding doors chiming behind him. He looked up to the moon, feeling the warm summer air, suddenly wishing that someone was here with him for some reason unknown. Mikuru was out of town on a business trip so she's been gone for a good while. Maybe he was just lonely?
"Whatever, I should get hom- Eh?" He suddenly felt someone was digging through his bags. He immediately turned to see who it was, but no one was there.
"What the…"
"Yahoo!" The person was suddenly behind him, turning to see Tokoha smugly holding up her stolen prizes, a soda and a bag of chips.
"Seriously Chrono, you shouldn't be spacing out. Someone might rob you or something," she teasingly stuck her tongue out.
He was confused, she didn't say anything about this. "Tokoha? What are you doing here?"
"Oh, I wanted to come here to surprise everyone, but my flight came a bit too late, so here I am." She opened the stolen soda can and was chugging it down.
"Hey, that was mine," Chrono whined.
"Hm, I'm just getting a soda you owe me," she stated matter of factly.
"Huh?"
"Back in middle school, you asked for a soda and I got one for you, so it's only fair I get one now."
He remembers now, he forgot his wallet that day and was dying of thirst, so he did ask her for one. She said he didn't need to pay her then and he… kinda forgot, whoops. "But that was just a soda, not soda and chips."
"I'm charging interest."
"Interest? I didn't know there were any interests." He smiled at her ridiculousness.
"I guess you didn't read the fine print." She began snacking on the chips.
He just shrugged, he hasn't seen her in a while so he can think of it as treating a friend. "So what are you gonna do now? It's pretty late right now."
"Oh, well that's true," she said with her mouth full (rude). "I don't want to bother my parents this late so I don't know."
"Hm, that is a problem…" An idea popped in his head, but was hesitant to say it. Like, what type of teenage boy would ask a girl to stay overnight in his apartment with no one else inside.
As if reading his mind, she asks, "hey, is it okay for me to sleep at your place for the night?"
He stared back at her baffled while she opted for her innocent look. 'Of course she'd be okay with it.'
"Fine, you can just get Mikuru's bed then. I'd doubt she'd care anyways."
"Alright! It's a sleepover then, hehe."
Chrono rolled his eyes. "Sure, sure. Don't want you getting harrassed by some asshole."
"Hey! I can take care of myself!"
The two teenagers walked to the swirly hair boy's apartment, talking about their day along the way. As they get there, Chrono hopes that no one comes out and sees the two of them together. It'd be a pain if gossip started going around about him inviting a girl over in the middle of the night.
"Make yourself at home," he said as he opened the door. Tokoha walked in, setting her suitcase aside.
As Chrono put his grocery away, the green hair girl turned on the TV and then leaped onto the couch. 'Hm, she gets comfortable way too quick.'
"Soo, what's got you up so late?" Tokoha asks, finishing the rest of her chips.
"You're asking now?"
She shrugged in response.
"I just wasn't sleepy, couldn't fall asleep."
"Really? Nothing wrong?"
"I'm fine. Anyways, if I weren't awake, you'd still be outside right now."
"Mm, touchè."
He walks to the couch with a sandwich from the convenience store in hand, only that the girl had laid herself to where he had no place to sit.
"You mind moving your legs?"
"Oh, but it was such a long airplane flight, I can't feel my legs!" She whined, clearly screwing with him.
"Fine then." He plots himself on top of her.
"Alright! Get off of me!" He giggles to himself as she squirms away.
Tokoha eyes his sandwich. "You know you shouldn't eat so late, you'll put on weight like that."
"Huh? I don't want to hear that from you who just downed a bag of chips right now."
She puts her hands on her hips. "Hey, just so you know I don't get fat for as much as I eat."
He glances down to her chest, remembering when her breasts suddenly got massive from the few months that she's been in Paris. 'Well, I know exactly where all that fat goes to.'
"You're thinking of something inappropriate, aren't you?" She squints menacingly at him.
"Oh you're mistaken, I was- Ow!" She jabs at his ribs.
"As an apology, you should give me the other half of your sandwich."
"...You just wanted part of my sandwich."
"No idea what you're talking about."
He halfheartedly gives the other half to her, which she gleefully accepts. They spent the time watching a rom com anime of the high school students in love with each other, but too afraid to ask each other out. It became frustrating at some point because of how obvious it was.
"He should really just man up and ask her out if he likes her so much," she grumbled at the screen.
Chrono shook his head. "She should just be straight with him, rather than just dropping small hints on him. He'll never get it."
"Then they're both dumb."
"Yep, dumber than bricks."
They stared at each other before looking away with a slight blush on their faces.
"You mind if I just change the channel," he mumbled.
"Please do."
They continued to watch the TV, now on a crappy American action movie. By this point, Chrono is now getting more and more sleepy, nodding off before he even knew it.
Tokoha felt something on her. She looked to see Chrono now sleeping and resting his head on top of hers. For as much as she wanted to throw him off, she couldn't. He really does look way too cute like this.
The green-haired girl felt more and more like she couldn't keep her eyes open. Not long after, she drift off to sleep.
Chrono was half awake now, enjoying the comfort of whatever he's sleeping on. He's too lazy to get up and he doesn't want to give up the comfortable position he is in. As he becomes more and more awake, he notices something… off. He's holding onto something warm in his arms. He ran has hands over the thing, it was sort of squishy in some places. Eventually his hands ended at the lower bottom of it, it felt like something round.
He opened his eyes to see a heavily blushing, scowling Tokoha. Right then and there, he put two and two together and immediately pulled his hands off her.
"Now let's calm down and think things throu- Oof!" The girl slams her fist on his head.
"You big idiot!" She storms out the room, grabbing her suitcase along the way and slamming the door.
Chrono stared at the door with a blank face, still processing. His face becomes almost as red as his hair and facepalmed.
"I regret waking up."
Tokoha meanwhile is curled up in front of the door, too embarrassed to even show her face and unable to get get the feeling of his hands out of her head.
"Why did he have to grab my ass like that?"
It was awkward for a bit, but they managed to make up at the end of the day.
