CHAPTER 2: POINT BREAK

╚═══━━━─── • ───━━━═══╝

Sagi was prepared to pummel the heck out of this man, even if it warrants her death. She just couldn't accept that they could have harassed the woman as easily as that. The leader already raised his fist in response to his intimidation and now attempted to hit Sagi.

"You are really a coward, do you? Hitting women as if it's nothing!"

The leader of the thugs only sneered at her instead hit the table nearest to Sagi. His intimidation methods he chuckled at the outcome and expected for Sagi to be scared once more… and it didn't work.

He sweat dropped for a moment but he flawlessly hid his dismay. "The next time my fist will surely land on you so scram!" He threatened Sagi. "...and who are you to act like her hero, huh?"

"*snort* hero he said...I betcha she's not even a Pro-Hero." The two individuals sneered at Sagi to themselves, but still enough to be heard by her.

Sagi looked at the fist that destroyed one of the tables and back at the leader. The two individuals behind the leader were just subdued. Perhaps, they think that the leader can extort the woman without any problem but seeing the scene escalate into something worse, they grew uncomfortable.

Now, the leader demands to know who she is and why she was so stupid to face the thugs. Sagi gathered her breath.

"Very well then… I am Pro-Hero Crackshot… and I will bring you all to justice!"

Crap. Crap. Crap. That wasn't what she was trying to say. She was alarmed and embarrassed when those words sputtered out of her mouth and even dared to be sound confident. How foolish of her! She was visibly sweating from nervousness.

When she recovered her sanity, she was curious why the leader did not respond at that time. He even looked dazed and confused, his compatriots also looked stupider than usual. Then suddenly, the leader panicked.

"S-Shit! It's a Pro-Hero Crackshot!" The leader stumbled back, terrified and trembling while pointing at Sagi's figure, who was perplexed by the reaction of the leader. The two bodyguards of the thug leader already scampered out of the building while leaving the leader on the floor breathless and wet by his own sweat.

When Sagi attempted to move, the leader was really scared that he had to crawl back to the door. "P-Please don't hurt me! I won't come back, I swear! My boss only ordered me though!" He said before he too, scampered out of the building, leaving the two in peace. There is not enough explanation for what was happening today.

When Sagi was certain that they were not coming back, she turned toward the woman who proceeded to hug her. Sagi was surprised by her reaction but then she hugged her back.

"I am so sorry, I'm so worried about you!"

"I-It's ok...I'm fine really." Sagi assured her.

Then she remembered that she hadn't paid her yet. Sagi remembered that the bill was still in her hand and tried to offer it to her. The woman glanced toward the money for a moment before she pushed it back to Sagi.

"I think you need that." The woman assumed that might be her only money in her belongings. "As a thank you for defending those thugs."

"Um, thanks but I really need to pay you for my meal." Sagi insisted.

The woman thought for a moment but then refused to budge her decision. "You said you need some space and a living right?"

Sagi hesitated for a moment but then relented. "Err, yes..."

"Come, follow me then..." The woman said as she looked around the interior of her cafe. "Perhaps, I need to fix this tomorrow morning." Then she looked at Sagi with pleasantness. "That's the reason why I can't let you live here… those idiots are unpredictably intruding on my restaurant, demanding for some protection money...until I realized that you are a Pro-Hero." The woman's eyes beamed with delight.

Sagi then gave her a nervous chuckle. "I apologize but I am not really a hero, Miss-"

"Miryah, Miryah Takami."

"Miss Miryah… I am just bluffing though..." Sagi added as she scratched the back of her head in confusion.

Miryah just tilted her head in question. The look of the fear of that man earlier really, really convinces her that Sagi was a Pro-Hero in denial. She then just forgot that thought. "Ahaha, I see… just like I said, follow me if you want to take a room." It is no use arguing with Sagi whether she is indeed a Pro-Hero or not as what matters is that Sagi saved her from harm and that Miryah wanted to repay Sagi genuinely.

"Umm, thank you, Miss Miryah." Sagi bowed down before she tried to trail Miryah. Miryah eventually closed the shop for repair tomorrow and then they went on their way.

Miryah's home wasn't far from the restaurant but it took them two streets away. It was just a small but fine house with a few plants here and there. Miryah opened the gate and urged Sagi to get in, which Sagi happily conceded. Even though it was simple, Sagi couldn't help herself but curiously looked around as she waited by the door.

"Sagi-san, this is my home… I hope this fits your favor."

"It's alright, Miss Miryah, your house is totally awesome." Sagi complemented.

Miryah then just chuckled as she opened the door for Sagi.

"Din-kun, we have a visitor." Miryah called as she entered her house. It was surprisingly spacious for a small house, with scant decoration on the walls and on the table. It also has a television which was set on a hero show.

Immediately, a small boy with a bowl cut emerged from the other room and hastily went to her mother. "Oh boy, oh boy." The boy then stopped and looked up at Sagi with extreme curiosity. "Hi, nice to meet you!" He greeted her.

Sagi then just waved him back. "Hello, I'm Sagi and nice to meet you too. I'm your mother's friend." She declared.

Din continued to look at her as he tilted his head, then he pulled Sagi in when he noticed that Sagi wasn't moving.

"Eh?" Sagi was just mildly surprised but let the child guide her.

"Come in, Sagi-san!" He said as he pulled Sagi's arm into the house.

Miryah just chuckled in amusement. "Din-kun must have been excited to have a new friend." she explained.

"I see…" Sagi-san said. Din just dragged her into his room, showing off the various stickers, memorabilias, and collections of a somewhat remarkable hero. The color red, yellow and blue were just too much for Sagi's eyes but it didn't matter to her.

"All Might!" He exclaimed. Sagi presumed that must have been the name of the hero plastered all over his room.

"I-I see, that's great." Sagi said as subconsciously sat on his bed as Din energetically zoomed through and fro throughout his room, collecting all of the toys scattered on the floor. Sagi proceeds to accept all of the toys that Din repeatedly puts onto her lap. Din was really excited to have a new friend.

"Ne, ne, do you have a favorite Pro-Hero?"

"P-Pro Hero?" Sagi immediately thought of Courier and the Siblings. "Well, I don't have one..." She confessed early before Din responded to another question. Her eyes darted at Din's playfulness.

"What's your quirk, Sagi-san?" Din questioned before he demonstrated his quirk. " Mine would be Cold Bubbles!" Din opened his palms and out came the bubbles.

"Oh, interesting! That's a great quirk." Sagi praised him and clapped. "I'm sorry but I have no quirk." She stated.

While both Din and Sagi were playing each other and developing a bond, Miryah meanwhile was busy watching them play and then smiled before she retreated back to the kitchen for the remainder of her work.

It was getting dark outside. Sagi just recently bathed after asking for permission from Miryah, who insisted that she doesn't need to have a permit for everything she needs to do here in the house, and she felt refreshed for the first time.

Sagi realized that the only thing she had in her possession was her clothes, wallet and nothing more. Miryah anticipated since she saw that Sagi had nothing on her so she gave her old clothes. Sagi was currently wearing a nightwear which was perfectly fitted.

Sagi had a towel on her head as she dried her hair. Since she was in a house already, Sagi was curious how she looked and found a mirror nearby. Could it be that she was possessing a different person? Who knows.

Sagi crept up to the mirror, slowly placed her face in front of the mirror.

And surprised that it was still the same. She had her shoulder-length hair with the same pink streaks and pink eyes looking back at her. She even has the same mole on her chin below her mouth. She appeared to have noticed that her appearance was before she cut her hair very short. She continued looking at her face at different angles until she was quite satisfied with her dilemma.

What a mystery.

Din was already sleeping and they had already finished their dinner. While Sagi continued looking at her reflection, she did not notice that Miryah was already beside her.

It took Miryah clearing her throat to make Sagi mildly surprised and look at her.

"Once again, thank you for saving me from those thugs… I deeply appreciated it." Miryah said enthusiastically.

"It's nothing to worry about… in fact I should be the one who must thank you for accepting me in this house when I have nothing."

Miryah just chuckled. "It seems that we have our debts paid… you can live in this house as much as you can." she declared.

Sagi attempted to correct her by saying that it would be temporary but she thought she sounded hypocrite because she doesn't know what to do next. Instead she has another idea. Sagi clapped her hand once. "Miryah-san, please let me work with you from now on."

Miryah was curious about what brought this on. "But why?"

"If Miryah-san won't let me pay, then I will work for it… besides those thugs might come back once more." Sagi did not hesitate when she said that she admitted that other than that she did not anticipate the leader's reaction, Sagi has no way to defend themselves. Perhaps, she could worry about it later on.

Miryah caressed her own chin, as if she was reconsidering things. "Maybe, you really are in need of shelter."

Sagi shrugged nervously.

Miryah then just sighed. "Of course, I won't pressure you why… maybe I do need some assistance after all."

Sagi felt relieved. "Thank you, Miss Miryah."

"Miryah would be fine." Miryah insisted. "I hope you can trust me one day."

Sagi just chuckled and then smiled back. Miryah then guided her to a room, which happened to be not in use and where she could sleep. It was messy and dusty due to being untouched for untold years. Miryah wanted to clean it immediately but Sagi volunteered to clean it alone, as she doesn't want to be a nuisance right now, much to Miryah's slight dismay.

Eventually, Miryah relented and let Sagi clean the room and arrange it according to her likeness and it was such a relief that it has a bed already. Sagi wondered who lived here before but cleared her own thoughts as she started cleaning up.

Sagi predicted that it will be a long night and that her sleep will be well earned after cleaning..
