There Is a secret among Forgewings that is kept from the other tribes that are true hermaphrodites. Gender is determined on which reproductive organ they urinate from.
Razor scales: when a Forgewing is born under 1 to 2 moons. Those born with Razor scales can control how sharp their scales are. Their teeth are so sharp it can puncture a forgewing with tungsten scale.
Warning: be very careful when in the presence of a razor scale when they start to lose their teeth. Razor scales lose their teeth every 3 years. When their teeth fall out, a new row of teeth grows in.
Tungsten scales: when a Forgewing is born under 1 to 2 moons. Those born with tungsten can swim in lava and magma. The scales are harder than diamonds. The teeth of tungsten scales are often used to sharpen weapons.
Rarely a tungsten scale is born with animus magic, but they are immune to the negative side effects of animus magic.
Lava scales: lava scales are exclusive to only royal Forgewings. Forgewings born with lava can melt tungsten.
When a regular Forgewing is born under the 3 moons they are born with both tungsten and razor scales but when a royal Forgewing is born under the 3 moons they are born with tungsten, razor, and lava scales.
Forgewings are known to be overprotective of their hatchlings.
