CHAPTER 5: TRUTH OR DARE

╚═══━━━─── • ───━━━═══╝

Dabi and Himiko have their seat away from the corner where Dabi was content to do so. Those judging eyes and curious stares are getting enough of him, to the point that he wanted to incinerate this place badly for good if it weren't for Himiko herself, who kept on nudging him and annoy him to the extent. If it weren't for Himiko's suggestion, Dabi would have thought they are wasting their time here instead back at their homebase, cooking their plans.

The girl named Sagi was a hell of an interest and Himiko was here to prove what kind of girl she is. Dabi continued smoking nevertheless to his pleasure and it began to annoy the customers. While Himiko was unbothered while waiting for their meal, Dabi was delighted upon the customers' reaction. They were obviously not used to having a choking atmosphere since the shop has small windows, some of them already coughing and yet they continued to ignore him for fear of retaliation. Dabi already looked intimidating enough.

It's his 4th stick this day and intended to smoke through two packs later on. No one can stop him. Himiko was still tapping her fingers on the table while her eyes were set on Sagi, who was busy serving for the other customers here.

Finally, Sagi approached their table with disdain marked on her face with Sagi's heavy steps only serve to warn what kind of mood Sagi has . Himiko meanwhile was overjoyed that they finally have her attention. Sagi faced Dabi with sternness. Dabi only wondered what Sagi would do to him.

"Sir, can you please stop smoking in our establishment?" Sagi quickly scolded, which stunned the whole customers. Never have they thought that Sagi has the guts to do so. They could only watch Sagi as she interacted with Dabi with absolute silence.

Dabi only smirked wickedly. "Make me." He dared. Never have Sagi thought that Himiko's friend was as hard-headed as he was and she wondered how they had become friends.

"Well then..." As if accepting the challenge, Sagi quickly gathered her breath. "Stop smoking in this establishment or I'll call the police!"

Suddenly, Dabi felt tingles on his back and froze. Then he dropped his lit cigarette down the floor and proceeded to stomp on it until it was getting mushy enough and then with his trembling hands pulled out his cigarette packs. Himiko continued to observe Dabi's action in wonder, her eyes twinkling as she found herself chuckling everytime Dabi looked a little confused.

It seemed that it reinforced Himiko's claims that Sagi is somewhat extraordinary.

Sagi only continued to watch Dabi throw the entire cigarette box on the floor in agony, scattering all its content abroad and once again stomping on it. She was feeling a little overwhelmed since Dabi was doing it overboard. All she wanted to do for him was to just stop smoking and that's it. She was still clueless on what was going on. Himiko just clapped everytime He stomped on the box.

When everything seemed to calm down, Sagi thought it would be the right time to return to the kitchen when Dabi literally caught her arm, making Sagi freeze. Did she accidentally pissed off the wrong guy?

Indeed, Dabi was aggrieved at the outcome and seeing he wanted to loosen up, he wanted to put his resentment into good use. Dabi proceeded to stand up and leaned by Sagi's ear.

"Woman, I want you to order me not to burn this restaurant." Dabi gritted his teeth.

"Huh?"

"Just do it!" He ordered.

Sagi was already panicking, did Dabi intend to burn the establishment? Oh hell no. Sagi immediately tightened her resolve and was very angry. "Don't you dare burn the restaurant, you rascal!" Sagi exclaimed. It is just awfully similar to how she encountered those thugs and she doesn't want anyone to destroy this place whenever they please.

The customers around them devolve into murmurs and whispers about a certain rascal and Dabi was now extremely agitated and now he has an excuse to turn this place into ashes as much as he pleases.

Only that he couldn't start a spark. He somehow had difficulty starting his quirk. Dabi felt the displeasure rising within.

*tsk* So this is what the nut job was referring to… can't even use my quirk here right now!

Dabi's curious eyes then set at Sagi, who was currently looking a little pissed off at his suggestion to burn the restaurant. His eyes twitched instinctively. He tried to activate his quirk several times but to no avail. What's even worse is that nobody noticed it, even Himiko.

Even felt bad at being called a rascal… so this is the extent of her quirk, huh?

Looking around, the customers then just turned to their usual routine, assuming that the 'rascal' was just joking about burning the whole place down. They weren't even deterred by the pressure that Dabi released. He immediately left the table, leaving Himiko alone and exited the restaurant.

"Excuse me..." He said toward Sagi before disappearing.

Sagi wondered what's the deal with that person and found herself being patted at the back by Himiko. "Don't worry about him… he's just a little bad that he smoked inside the restaurant and threatened you to burn this place." She smirked after that.

Sagi continued to watch the door hanging ajar due to Dabi improperly leaving the establishment.

"But what about his serving?"

"Ah, I'm expectedly a big eater so I can eat his portion and pay for him… please don't bother him for the moment." Himiko said with a grin. Afterall, she was satisfied with the events that happened here today.

Dabi was waiting outside, a little bit far from the restaurant. He was currently underneath the shade of a tree. His hands were currently in his pocket. Eventually, Himiko exited the restaurant and went to Dabi's location with a toothy grin. She was obviously filled and burped upon nearing the Cremation user.

"Uh, so full right now..." Himiko was literally huffing. "You idiot… I have no choice but to finish up yours too."

"Who said you need to finish mine too you wacko."

"Me! I can't just let Sagi down…!" Himiko reasoned.

Dabi wasn't even listening to her right now, instead, he was looking at the last stick of cigarette he had quite forgotten inside the pocket. Himiko only wondered.

"So how's meeting with her, my precious friend?" Himiko asked.

"Don't know, can't explain it either..." Then he stretched out his arm, with the cigarette holding it. Suddenly, it burned with bright blue, reducing it to smithereens. Afterwards, Dabi intensified the flames pouring out and pointed out at the said restaurant with his index finger.

He clearly put the intent to burn the small restaurant down and immediately the fire sputtered out into smoke and then into nothingness. "I was quite worried that she somehow has a cancelling quirk but turns out to be even worse." he chuckled as he observed his hand that refused to burn the building..

"So how would you rate her?" Himiko said with glee.

"Like I said I don't care..." Dabi exclaimed. "... but if you manage to convince her to join our group then that might be a great boon for us."

Himiko could only grin. She was excited that she would have a new sister to their ragtag group whether Sagi liked it or not.

Miryah and Sagi were already closing their shop since it's already dark. While they were about to leave, they were surprised that Himiko confronted them eagerly.

"H-Hi, there!" Himiko started waving at Sagi specifically.

"Himiko? What are you doing here this late?" Sagi asked.

"Nothing? I just want to meet you… and talk to you for a little bit." Himiko reasoned.

"Is this about your friend Dabi?"

Himiko swayed her head in response and waited for her, standing awkwardly. Sagi looked at Miryah in concern.

Miryah then remarked. "I think Himiko really wanted to talk to you..." then she shifted her attention toward Himiko. "... and that excludes me, right?"

Himiko was unsure of what she tried to say next. "Yeah, I am so sorry." She said with downcast eyes and while twirling her shoes.

Miryah only chuckled in disbelief. "Kids these days..." she muttered. Then she turned toward Sagi and said something. "Why don't you two go somewhere private?"

"Miryah-san!" Sagi tried to scold Miryah for her undertones and Miryah was just chuckling at her and before she could argue any further, Himiko already dragged Sagi away from Miryah using her arms.

Himiko was just chuckling in delight while Sagi was just confused as heck but let Himiko dragged her toward somewhere.

"Sagi-san, be at home when you two are finished!" Miryah commanded before she went on her way on her own this time. She was confident that Sagi already knew the direction where their house was.

At least, Sagi managed to gain a friend in a short amount of time.

Sagi found themselves in a park full of trees. She could only watch the trees being gently nudged by the night winds. She was thankful that she was wearing some thick clothes she borrowed from Miryah. As for Himiko, she doesn't know what the girl was currently feeling.

Himiko sought a swing and sat upon, calling dibs. Sagi followed and sat at the other swing.

"Weeee!" Himiko shouted in joy as she swung at the great height while Sagi was content not making any movement while sitting alone. In fact, they were very alone underneath a bright moon.

"So what do you want to talk about, Himiko-san?"

"So straightforward, Sagi-san." She said while still swinging. "I just want to talk about everything, anything!"

"I see… then how about you talk about yourself and then it will be my turn."

Himiko suddenly lessened the intensity of her swinging. She widened her eyes from Sagi's proposition. "R-really?"

Sagi only nodded in confirmation and it was obvious that Himiko was getting giddy in getting to know her own friend.

"Then I'll go first." Himiko cleared her throat. "My name is Himiko Toga, age 16 and my quirk is called Transform!"

"Transform?" Sagi was interested in Himiko's quirk. "How do you transform?"

"It's simple! I ingest the blood of someone I need to transform into and kablam! I became them." she explained. "Also, the more blood I drink, the longer I have access to their form. Drinking multiple types of blood also allows me to take on multiple appearances!" She finished.

Sagi immediately claps her hand. "That's an amazing quirk of yours, Himiko-san! That could be really useful!"

Himiko was really happy that someone appreciated their quirk. "R-really? Even their downsides?"

"Downsides?" Sagi thought that no matter how amazing their abilities are, she didn't expect Himiko to have one. "Would you tell me what is the downside of your quirk?" She was really curious about it.

"Hmm? I don't really consider it as a downside though-" Himiko gave a quick glance at Sagi, who was still curious as heck why her quirk would have a downside. "I have an intense pleasure in anything that resembles blood… People found out about it and they were quick to look at me in disgust… I mean I couldn't just help it-"

Himiko didn't manage to finish telling her about the downside of her quirk when Sagi eventually wrapped Himiko's head with her arms and pulled her into a hug. Himiko was promptly surprised, for the first time.

She really did expect Sagi to be disgusted by her behavior, just like her parents but Sagi just caressed her head like a mother. She never felt this comfort ever before, even if this is just for a moment. She could smell Sagi's fragrance and she intended to remember it forever more.

Himiko's eyes threatened to tear up.

Sagi immediately released Himiko from her hold, looking confused. "I-I'm so sorry, I just didn't know what came to me." Her eyes were still set on Himiko with hints of worriness. "From what I could understand… you really have a hard time living due to your own quirk."

Himiko just played it straight and nodded in assurance. "Don't worry, I'm living my fullest." she sniffed.

"Really… I thought-"

Himiko had enough, Sagi is the person that can be trusted fully. "Can I tell you one more thing?"

Sagi then just nodded.

"I'm also a Villain by the way." Himiko said confidently.
