Sorry Guys, I'm going to get you all caught up on chapters. So first...
Kai, he loved this.
Loved how easily Jay fit in with them.
He'd known this would be a good fit.
Just knew it.
And after all Jay had been through, all the shit he'd dealt with?
All the anxiety.
Fear.
Concern.
He deserved so much.
So very, very, very much.
And he was looking forward to providing as much of it as he could.
He looks over to his wife, smiling brightly as she gives Jay pointers.
They both were.
It was crazy to him. Surreal even.
Never in his career would he have guessed he'd adopt one of his clients.
He and Nani had decided so long ago that they didn't want kids after they'd guided Lilo into adulthood-
Pretty well, in his opinion, but still, it had been a lot.
Like a lot.
But with Jay?
Wanting to adopt him had just clicked.
He'd never met a kid like Jay, and damn he'd met so many kids through the years.
Jay was just different.
His pack, and from the sound of it, the other kids still on the Isle were just different.
But Jay?
He knew they could help Jay.
And because they were counselors, he knew they could help the others, which was important to Jay.
All these damn kids deserved to find a place where they would be wanted and loved.
His smile tightens when he sees Jay look over Nani's shoulder, back towards the beach.
Back towards where his phone was waiting on his towel.
He knew it was a lot for him.
Being separated from his pack like this.
But, as much as he wished he could have adopted all of them- Keeping them together would've been unhealthy.
They were already so codependent with each other.
Not that it wasn't understandable with all they'd been through together.
He sighs.
The knowledge that he didn't even know the half of it only made it that much worse.
He'd be lying to himself if he and Nani weren't hoping that Cobra could get him to talk about it more.
He'd had so many small moments with Jay.
Moments where Jay opened up and talked about his past without fear of judgment.
But, he always did it to help others.
Like when he talked about being locked up.
He only did that to help him work through his theory on T and Faustina's situation.
And it stopped when Jay realized how much it pained him to hear what he'd suffered through.
He'd called it a dad moment, but truly he knew it was a counselor moment.
Jay hated the thought of hurting people he loved, and now he and Nani were two more people he didn't want to hurt.
Even with his past.
So, hopefully, he'd find Cobra's analytical approach more appealing, but he also knew that would take a while.
Cobra was intimidating to people who didn't have their son's-
Kai, son!
He grins all over again.
It was still so crazy to think about.
He shakes his head.
Cobra. Intimidating Cobra.
And Jay's killer instincts.
Cobra was the best in the field.
And that wasn't even him being biased. It was just a fact.
Sure, it usually took time for him to build trust with his cases, especially the teens, but once he had it…
He had it.
He turns at Nani's laugh and watches as Jay emerges from the water with a wide grin. He pulls himself back on the board with surprising ease.
All while Nani watched him, pride shining in her eyes. "Almost got it."
"It felt better that time, less like the board was trying to jump out from under me." Jay rubs the back of his head sheepishly, "Thanks."
He grins. So far, this was turning out to be one of the best long weekends of his life.
It had been fun watching Jay look at them in disbelief when they'd brought him to the hardware store to pick up the paint for his room.
He'd been so bewildered at first, but after some gentle prodding, he finally decided on the colors he wanted.
It had been amusing watching him try to delicately explain he wanted to wait before they painted.
Not that they were surprised.
Mal would do a much better job at whatever Jay had in mind for the designs.
And the furniture store had surprisingly been a blast. Walking around together as a family, talking about the things he would need in his room.
Jay got so overwhelmed with all the choices. It had been both cute and sad.
But the look on his face when they hadn't argued or complained about him wanting two sets of bunk beds for his room had been absolutely priceless.
He knew it was easily argued as inappropriate and definitely enabling, but-
It wasn't like Jay's pack had any intentions of having sex with each other.
And it wasn't like the others who'd stepped up to adopt the rest of his pack hadn't agreed to set up space for the four of them to house hop during the summer.
He could already picture Cobra's 'are you serious?'.
But he couldn't separate the pack like that.
Wouldn't.
"Here, I'll show you an easier way to correct your stance when you feel unstable." Nani adjusts on her board.
He chuckles as he paddles closer. "Brah, you're really gettin' the hang of it."
"Yeah?" Jay grins as he shifts, the movements easier and less stiff.
He nods with a bright smile, "For sure."
Nani beams in agreement, "You're really finding your balance," she laughs, "must be the years of parkour workin' in your favor."
"Or having excellent teachers." Jay shrugs as he flicks water in her direction.
His chest puffs up, "We are pretty awesome."
"Way to let a compliment make you lolo." Nani chuckles as she splashes back before she nods at Jay, "Here, watch me on the next wave."
Jay backpedals on his board until he's floating beside him, the two of them watching as Nani paddles out to wait for the next choice wave.
"This has been-" Jay sighs as he looks around them, his gaze stopping just short of the barrier surrounded Isle in the far distance, "One of the-" He purses his lips before he shakes his head, "Actually, I think it's the best weekend. My best weekend." He awkwardly rubs the back of his neck again, "So, I um, thank you. Both of you. Sorry if I've been weird or whatever."
"Ya ain't been weird, brah." A bit uncomfortable, maybe but-
He couldn't blame him. He and Nani could be pretty overwhelming when they were excited. "An-" He grins widely, "I'm stoked to hear that."
Honestly, he was also surprised to hear it.
He would've thought Jay would be on his phone constantly checking to make sure his pack was okay.
But he'd been so good about it. It was only every hour or so.
"It's just, I never really stopped to think about the things I like, you know? What I wanted. So, it was weird having to actually do that work. I mean, other than like sports and teams, I never really thought like, hey, this is me."
His chest tightens at the thought.
This fucking kid.
He splashes Jay playfully, "Still technically a sport, brah."
Jay chuckles as he splashes him back, "Yeah, but I was talking about my room. Like, it's my room. Just mine. And it gets to be what I want it to be. Because you and Nani said it could be. So, yeah, thank you."
He smiles, "Our pleasure," His eyes soften, "seriously, it makes us happy to see you actually chill for once. You're always so concerned about everyone else. It's nice to see you enjoy something that's just for you-" He chuckles, "Even if you were still thinkin' of your pack."
Jay snorts, "Aww, it's like you know me or something." He shakes his head before he looks away, "It's hard not to think of them. Even with us agreeing to keep texts to once a day except for emergencies."
He nods, "I know it's hard." He frowns, "So that makes hearing it's been the best weekend of your life even more special." He adds sincerely.
"I really like hanging out with you and Nani. Even without the room and the shopping. And surfing is so fun and challenging. I can't wait to get better at it."
"Wait til' you an' Lonnie can share a board." He winks, "There's nothin' like surfin' with your girl."
He chuckles at Jay's grin and blush.
"It does sound fun. I got a long way to go, but that's going to be awesome when I get there."
He nods, "We need to get her out here more so she can practice too."
Jay grins as he shrugs casually, "I wouldn't hate that."
He snorts as he splashes Jay again, "Next long weekend, let's invite all the lolos for another luau."
"Really?"
"For sure, brah, it's gettin' warmer."
"That was a lot of fun when you guys did it last time." Jay grins as he watches Nani line up for a wave.
"It's a lot better warm."
"Everything is a lot better when it's not cold." Jay nods as his eyes narrow in focus. "Cold sucks."
He nods somberly before he grins- "You an' your pack are gonna love Hawaii this summer."
"We're going to Hawaii this summer?" Jay turns to him with a frown.
He shrugs, "Only for a week or two, was plannin' on playin' round robin with you four… Maybe eight- or nine rather."
"Right. Jane." Jay sighs, "Mal said she wanted to start including her in more things."
"She seems like she needs better role models, and I can't think of a better group than you guys."
Jay snorts, "You are a damn good counselor, so it's not like I can argue, but that still sounds funny to hear. In Auradon, a group of VKs is considered good role models." He snorts again.
He grins, "You're all good kids-" He chuckles, "And from what I understand, you were a good one on the Isle too."
Jay's eyes dart to the Isle, "I'm not sure about that."
"Oh?" He questions with a raised eyebrow, "T seemed to listen to you pretty well."
"It was a dominance thing."
He snorts.
"I'm serious." Jay frowns, "I knew for years, or, well, for years I thought T was a girl pretending to be a boy." He sighs, "And, I mean, no big on the Isle. I got it. Mal, Uma, and Cora got their gangs because they were badass bitches with powerful parents, but T was a nobody. Being a boy nobody is a hell of a lot easier to deal with than being a girl nobody. But, I-" He folds his arms tight to his chest as he continues to stare at the Isle, "I was hard on him, fuck, T. I was hard on T. I pushed him, got to know him so I could trick him. I saw his value and wanted it for the gang, but I also saw that- I don't know, crazy energy? Whatever it was that made him get up after every fall or hit with a sword."
He falls silent as he drifts on the board, glaring at the Isle as if he were searching for something.
"I don't think it made me a good person there. I just ended up making different choices than the ones I started out making." Jay finally admits.
"I have to disagree, from how I see it." He breathes as he runs a hand through his hair. "On the Isle, it sounds like it was hard to make friends- allies, and despite that. Despite you knowing better, knowing that it might end up biting you in the ass, I think on a level you could recognize that T, despite being a protector, needed someone to look out for him. Even if you couldn't admit, or maybe even see it at the time, you went out of your way for him. Stuck your neck, and harder still, your rep out for him. So what if you started out with different intentions," He looks over to Nani, "What matters is that you saw something, someone, who needed an ally. And through time, grew to respect them and change how you viewed them. That's what makes you a good person, brah. Intentions matter."
Jay's lips thin with his frown. "I really hope that's true. Cause I've done a lot of stupid, shady things for what I hoped were the right reasons, at the time and now." He finally tears his eyes away from the Isle.
He smiles, "Stupid and shady shit, ey?" He chuckles, "I'm guilty of some of that too, maybe not to the same extent, but still." He shrugs. "I think they served me well in the end though. You're always so critical of yourself, brah, but luckily, you have me an' Nani to set you straight." He winks.
A smile slowly brightens Jay's face. "I do feel extremely lucky to have you guys. "
"Same." He grins as he pats Jay's shoulder.
"Can I ask you something? I've been kind of avoiding it because I really don't want to ruin this."
"Doubt that's possible," He shakes his head, "and always. I love your questions. You're always so deep." He chuckles. "Even if you can't see it. I really admire your mind. Never met such a philosophical athlete."
"Oh, well, not really that kind of question this time. Sorry." Jays rubs the back of his neck, "But good to know you like my questions too."
"I like being kept on my toes."
"Do you?" Jay snorts before he sighs, "I wanted to ask about the new building, and the training Cobra offered me."
"Ah," He leans back, resting his weight on his arms as if he were in his office instead of balancing on a board, "That was a long-"
Fight. Not that Jay needed to know that.
"Conversation." He settles on.
"Are you really okay with it, though?" Jay continues, leaning towards him as he grips his board tightly, "I know you've said guns aren't your thing. And I get the feeling they make you almost as nervous as they make me."
"Violence, in general, ain't my thing," He shrugs, "But I'm surrounded by lolos." He glances at Jay, "And yeah, they do make me nervous, but you going to the Isle makes me even more so."
"I know you want me to bring Cobra when that happens," Jay sighs as his eyes drop to stare at his board, "and I swear I'm working on it. I know the session ended early, and we didn't even really talk about anything, and-"
"Ey-" He holds up his hand, "Don't kick yourself brah, Cobra's- He takes some time to get adjusted to. But he's a really cool brah, once you get ta know him. Scary as fuck at first though."
Jay snorts, "He's not like anyone I thought you'd look up to. He's-" Jay bites his lip, "Well, yeah. Scary. More because he doesn't even try to be. It's the way he moves and doesn't move. The way he watches, and fuck if he doesn't Deez all over the damn place at the worst times."
He can't help his chuckle, "He is rather intuitive for someone so…"
"Big?" Jay shakes his head, "Brah, his shoulders don't fit in the doors, and he has to duck."
He grins, "If you think he's big, wait 'til ya meet Gantu."
Jay blinks, "I'm good with waiting until I'm like, settled around Cobra." He shakes his head before he continues in a rush, "And I will. Don't worry."
"I know ya will brah, if nothing else, you VKs know how to adapt."
"It's just hard knowing if he wanted to, he could kill everyone around him, and there would be nothing I could do except get the hell out with whoever I could get."
He nods, "Fair..."
"Is that counselor fair or dad fair?" Jay snorts.
"Both?" He sighs, "All our Ohana is capable of killing, and some of them have. But that's in the past, before Lilo, well Lilo'd."
Jay slowly nods, "Sorry to derail the day, I just, I didn't want to do it if you'd be disappointed."
"Nah, brah. Ya didn't derail it." He shakes his head, "An' thanks for caring 'bout my feelings on the matter." He grins, "But Cobra and Hiro would'ah never built that if I'd nixed it."
"But being okay with something-" Jay sighs as he taps his hand to his head, "And being okay with something-" His hand falls to cover his heart, "Aren't the same thing. And I don't like making you and Nani worry."
"Brah," He snorts, "It's part of the package, no avoidin' making us worry."
Jay shrugs, "This is still new. You're like, actual parents. Like in stories and books that I will never admit to Deez that I loved reading with her." He chuckles lightly before he continues in a softer voice, "A real mom and a real dad. I don't want to mess that up. Break it before I even fully understand it."
His chest aches at the quiet tone. At the depth of emotion in his words.
"I promise," He states with certainly "Th-"
"There's really nothing you could do to break it." Nani finishes somberly. "We love you. At times we might hurt each other, disappoint each other, fight even, but that's never going to change how we feel about you."
Jay's glassy eyes bounce between him and Nani before he drops his gaze to his board.
"What she said." He grins at his wife, before he puts a hand on Jay's shoulder and squeezes. "We'll figure this out. Together. As an Ohana. A real one."
Jay nods before he runs the back of his hand over his face, "Thanks, both of you."
"Anytime," Nani smiles softly as she squeezes his other shoulder, "and I mean any time you need that reminder, please don't hesitate to ask for it."
"Straight up walk in the room and say you need reminders, we'll know what you mean." He adds with a grin.
"I'll remember," Jay says as he looks up with a small smile.
"Good," Nani nods in approval. "It's important to us. Probably the most important. You've earned our love twice over and then some. You're an amazing kid, and we're proud to call you ours."
"So if I start messing up, you'll let me know?"
Nani worries her bottom lip between her teeth as she looks Jay over, "We can try to come up with some ground rules if that would help?"
"Ey?" He rubs the back of his head sheepishly, "Try bein' the keyword."
Jay chuckles, "I like all this trying."
"Good," Nani smiles, "cause I think it sounds like a good start for us."
"And, a few rules might make things easier. Until I trust myself to know what will and won't disappoint you guys."
"Well, for sure no voodoo." Nani's face pinches. "It was one thing in Hawaii, but…"
"You guys are not going to like Freddie." Jay slowly shakes his head, "Or her sister Cici."
He chuckles, "The Voodoo sisters?"
"They sound very colorful from the tablets." Nani smiles, "And Evie always talks about Freddie fondly."
"Girl had a lady-" Jay blinks before he coughs and looks away.
He snorts, "You were gonna say boner."
Jay sucks his teeth, "I was, but then I thought better."
Nani laughs, "Promise, we've heard worse from your uncles."
"That's fair." Jay chuckles, "Hiro doesn't hold back on descriptions. But yeah, Freddie had a lady boner for Evie. And Mal. Probably Deez. I know Uma gave her a few tosses. Harry wanted to hunt her so bad, like the idea of something that didn't want him made it more exciting or something." He shakes his head.
He can't help his snort, "When you have a type, you have a type."
"Are you saying Harry's type is anyone who wants nothing to do with him?" Jay rolls his eyes, "Cause I can't argue that."
Nani grins, "He would know. I rejected him like fifty times."
"Ouch." He and Jay say at the same time.
Jay chuckles before he reaches out, wobbling slightly as he grabs him and Nani each by a shoulder, "Thanks, for this, letting me just talk."
"Of course," He grins.
"It makes us happy too," Nani adds as she covers his hand.
Jay takes a deep breath, "Good, cause I think I needed it." He grins as he pulls his hands back, "Think you can show me the footing trick again?"
Nani's eyes sparkle with mirth, "Gonna watch this time?"
"I was watching." Jay slaps his hand to his chest, the sound thudding against the material of his wetsuit.
Nani chuckles, "If you say so."
"Think we could get a wave big enough for both of us?" Jay challenges, "I'll show you I was watching."
Nani turns to look out at the surf with a grin, "I think so." She nods before she paddles out, "Try to keep up."
"You're on!" Jay slips down his board to paddle after her.
Competitive lolos.
He grins as he watches them both prepare for the wave.
Jay's form was nearly perfect, and he can't help his laugh at the way he was pointedly calling Nani's attention to it.
It was a beautiful sight, watching them crest the swell, laughing and smiling as they dance across the wave.
Nani in perfect control of her board.
Jay in control of his own as well, though he was obviously less sure of himself.
It was a pretty sweet swell, small compared to the ones they surfed at home, but good for a beginner.
He winces when he sees Jay wobble on his board.
Iki brah had good footing, what was-.
But before he can do anything, the board rips out from under Jay, the cord snapping with the force as it flies away.
"JAY!" He screams, scrambling precariously to his feet, "NANI!" He warns before he dives off the board.
That was no fucking wipe out.
That was like the time Gantu tried to grab Stitch.
The time that Nani nearly lost Lilo.
But, what was it?
He'd only seen the wave.
What the fuck knocked into Jay?
Pulled him off the board like that?
He pushes himself harder as he dives deeper, looking around desperately, his eyes meeting Nani's confused gaze for the briefest moment.
Where the fuck was Jay?
He looks up. Maybe he'd already surfaced?
Maybe he was paranoid.
Just overly worried about his son.
He starts kicking to the surface, hoping to see Jay above the waves clinging to his board.
Apologizing.
Because if he and Nani were in the water, then obviously he'd worried them.
His brow furrows as something darts away.
Something blurry and above the water.
Something red.
The fuck was-
Not Jay.
He shakes his head before he turns back, swimming harder as he continues deeper.
Where the fuck was Jay?
A stream of bubbles rushes to the surface as a scream when he finally spots Jay.
Struggling.
Against seaweed?
He narrows his eyes as he waves to get Nani's attention.
No, that couldn't be right.
He points towards Jay before he starts swimming hard in his direction.
Nani's eyes widen as she shifts, kicking off the bottom to follow him.
Fuck!
What the fuck was-
He nearly chokes when he sees rope tangled around Jay's feet.
Wrapped up his body.
Thick slimy ropes trapping his arms to his sides,
His lungs burn in panic as he and Nani finally reach him.
Jay's wide, terrified eyes look into his as he struggles hard against the ropes.
His mouth moves, but only bubbles come out.
He shakes his head before he rips the small blade from the holster he always carried secured to his ankle when they surfed.
He holds it up, but when Jay doesn't stop struggling, he gives up trying to show him what they were doing.
All he could do was work the blade between the ropes.
Pull.
Push.
Saw.
Desperate.
He and Nani were both desperate.
Hacking and slicing through the slick rope keeping Jay secured to the bottom of the ocean.
What the fuck was happening?
How the fuck-
Didn't matter.
He just needed to-
A small stream of bubbles escapes Jay's lips as his struggles slow.
No!
FUCK!
He continues sawing in earnest.
Too long.
This was taking too long.
Bubbles escape from Nani as she continues to frantically cut at the ropes, clearly a cry of anguish as they continue to struggle against the unrelenting ropes.
The water around them tints red.
Jay wasn't moving.
Fuck this.
They had to have cut enough of him loose.
He tucks the knife under his arm.
He only hoped Nani would understand what he was trying to do.
That they were on the same page.
He shoves her back before he braces his feet on the seafloor and pulls with all his might.
It doesn't take long for Nani to figure it out.
Together they tug.
Nani pulls herself beneath Jay, slicing into whatever ropes were still tethering him to the bottom.
He nearly shouts in relief when he feels the resistance break, but his lungs were already burning, and he needed to get Jay air.
He and Nani kick off the ground, supporting Jay between them as they rush back to the surface.
He pulls in a deep breath and pulls Jay to rest against his shoulder.
Fuck!
He immediately starts swimming for shore.
"Fuck, David, is he breathing?" Nani screams as she does her best to help, swimming for all she was worth.
"Shore," He responds desperately, praying to Kai that he was.
When had they gotten so far out?
Fuck!
Or was he just that slow?
It didn't matter.
His lungs burn.
His arms and legs burn.
But he didn't care.
All he cared about was his son.
Jay.
The kid would be fine.
It was Jay.
But right now, he'd like to have that realization on shore.
Eventually-
Finally-
His legs connect with sand.
He groans as he pulls Jay into his arms, ignoring the way his whole body was shaking as Nani helps him carry their son's limp, restrained form out of the surf to lay him on the sand.
"Jay! Baby? Answer me!" Nani screams as she looks him over, rubbing one of his pale cheeks with her palm.
He holds his fingers over Jay's neck.
Shit!
Shit.
Shit.
Shit.
"CPR." He shouts as he shoves Nani in place before bringing his hands together and presses them to Jay's chest.
Once.
Twice.
Nani watches until the third compression and then plugs Jay's nose and breaths into his mouth.
He watches Jay's chest rise.
And then convulse.
"Good!" He and Nani work to quickly shift him to his side.
The water finally shoots out of Jay's mouth as he starts coughing and struggling against the ropes.
"Jay." He cries as he beats against his back.
"No!" Jay coughs as he thrashes against the ropes, his eyes squeezed shut as he struggles.
"Nani!" He calls out desperately.
"On it!" She drops her knife beside him before she scrambles across the sand, racing for a phone among the pile of their things not far away.
He plucks up the knife and desperately saws against the rest of the rope.
"Jay, Jay! You gotta stop fighting. You need to breathe, brah." He orders tightly, "We got you. We got you. We got you." He repeats, not sure at this point if it's for himself or Jay. "You're gonna pass out, and you need air."
"Nani!" Jay whimpers as he looks up wildly, still struggling to talk through the panic and coughing, "Where?"
"Getting help," He quickly assures him.
He startles when a larger knife is shoved into his hand as Nani spits out orders into the phone.
His attention jumps back to Jay as he starts sawing again.
His breathing was too shallow.
Too fast.
And he couldn't tell if it was how tight the ropes were or if Jay was in the middle of a panic attack.
"D-" Jay shakes his head before he coughs again, more water spilling from his mouth and nose.
"Fuck!" He hisses as he slides the blade under the ropes haphazardly and pulls.
The ropes finally give.
Jay jerks as he tries to sit up, but another coughing attack forces him back.
"Knees and hands, now." He orders but only jerks Jay up himself when he moves too slowly for his liking.
"It's gonna be okay." He assures Jay as he continues to encourage him, banging one hand against his back as he watches him.
Jay nods before more water splashes on the sand.
"Breathe iki-brah." He orders. "Breathe for us."
"Dad-" Jay whispers hoarsely.
"You're gonna be okay," He quickly states. "You're gonna be okay."
"An ambulance is on the way," Nani says as she falls to her knees beside him.
He nods as he continues clapping Jay's back.
"We got you," Nani whispers as he slides closer to support Jay, bracing his side against her chest as they continue to coax him through coughing the saltwater from his lungs, "Everything's okay. Just breathe."
But no matter what they did, Jay's breathing didn't deepen.
Didn't slow.
And then, without warning, Jay collapses.
Falls against him and over Nani's knees.
"Motherfuckingdamnit!" He flips Jay, "You breath, I'll compress."
"David!"
He looks up at the edge in her voice.
"He's breathing." Nani sighs in relief as she collects Jay's head to rest in her lap.
His eyes drop to Jay's chest and lets out a hiss of relief before he falls back. "What the fuck was that!"
He looks up to find tears streaming down Nani's equally lost face.
"I don't know." She whispers roughly as tears cling to her lashes, "I didn't see what it was. And how the fuck did he get so tangled in ropes? How was there that much rope out there?" Her grip around Jay's shoulders tightens.
He frowns, "Great question." He glares around the beach.
What the fuck had the red been?
What the fuck had just happened?
In the distance he hears sirens turn on.
He scoops Jay into his arms with a grunt, "Can you call-"
"On it." Nani nods as she scrambles to pick up the phone. Her thumbs flying over the screen.
They were not going back out into the surf until he knew nothing else was out there.
"Uncle-" Nani breathes into the phone as the ambulance makes its way onto the beach, sending sand flying in its wake.
Fuck.
He looks around as he stands.
The guards.
Had they seen it?
Where were they?
What the fuck was the point of them if they hadn't even stormed the fucking beach?
He blinks when Nani touches his hand, "Let him go. They're going to take him to the hospital."
"Right," He nods as he slowly lowers Jay onto the stretcher, stepping back to let the paramedics swarm around him to check his vitals.
"You go with him," Nani encourages as they move Jay to the ambulance, "I'll follow."
He shakes his head, "You go, keep me posted. I need to find those damn assholes that are supposed to be looking out."
"I'll find them, David, or tell someone to find them, go with our son."
He frowns.
Damn, he wanted to argue.
But he also didn't want to let Jay out of his sight any time soon.
He squeezes his eyes shut. "You sure?"
"You were the first person he connected to lolo," Nani smiles, "so yeah, I'm sure he's going to need you when he wakes up."
He nods before he kisses her deeply.
Kai, he was so fucking lucky to have her.
He turns and hops in the ambulance.
"Adam-" Is the last thing he hears before the doors are slammed shut.
Dudez.
Like Dudez.
Like for real.
That shit just happened.
What shit you ask?
All the shit. That's what shit.
But, seriously what do you think just the fuck happened?
It started off fluffy tho didn't it?
Right until it wasn't.
Fuck.
What do you guys think?
Thank you Dark for punching up the feelz in this one. Cause fuck knows I suck at that shit.
I do the lolz.
Dark does the feelz.

He snorts, "You were gonna say boner."
