Boris glared at himself in the mirror. His fingers mingled in his tresses, the locks that sprouted from his head and fell just short of his eyes, those bangs he tugged on, the lavender strands. Why were they such an odd, pale and ashen color, tinted lilac? Why was he so different, from everyone else around him?

Even his eyes, they were a gray, sometimes, a mauve hue reflected off the surface of them. They were silver; the color that always finished second. In the last tournament, his team finished second... and the other team won gold. He could faintly remember someone else's eyes being that color.

It had been a year since that day when everything came crumbling; their blades, their hopes and their lives. They felt their lowest at that moment just before change came and...changed everything. They had to let go.

His fingers picked up the scissors and for a last time, he ran his fingers through the lilacs. They were darker now, because of the water from his shower. He had to clean himself; every day he felt dirty. His grown body always felt filthy. He was much taller now and broader in the shoulders. His voice was deep and his face could smile now, even if barely.

He began to cut and watched as the strands fell into the sink. By the end, his hair ended just below his pierced lobes and the top was much shorter and spikier. He was not done. Next, he took the dye on the counter top and squeezed it onto his head. Gray drips stained the sink and swirled down the drain as he rinsed the color out.

His hair was gray now. Gray was neutral, not black nor white but the shade in between. It added age to his young, ivory features. However, his silver eyes were now lost behind his darker bangs. He looked down as he grabbed yet another box. Inside was the solution. He stared for a long moment at the green emeralds in his palm.

He blinked, his long black lashes swooping down and as they lifted back up, he saw a new color in the mirror. The jade color stared back at his new appearance and that faint smirk reappeared on his rose lips. They twitched as he gazed for a long time at himself. He was complete.

There was a knock on the door and he opened it, stepping out a new person.

''B-Boris?'' Blue eyes looked at him in amazement.

Yuriy was stunned. He tried to speak, but no more words came out.

''I wanted to change.'' Boris stated and grinned in satisfaction.

''But Borya...''

He silenced his lover with a kiss and murmured quietly against his lips.

''I changed my exterior...for me, but I did not change my interior...that will always be yours.''

Yuriy smiled. ''Good...I would not want you to change what made me fall for you...''
