Silence. Lark didn't expect Lloyd to be so silent as the walked around the Monastery. Misty and Stone with meeting Wu, theyll be getting figured out. Cracked open.
Lark looked to her side and looked at Lloyd. He seemed stressed and quite shy. Though she had no idea how to help with that. As they walked around Lark finally decided to just sit down on the grass. Her legs were not used to this.
Lloyd started at her before sitting down next to her. "Sorry." He apologized.
"No, it's fine. Friends just need to get along and have fun. We dont need to do anything in particular while we wait. What is Wu doing to them anyway?" Lark asked, looking to Lloyd.
Lloyd leaned back and pressed his hands against the grass as he stared up at the sky. "Depends. He could be testing their strength, trying to get them to use their powers, or their abilities. Depending on what they are. Maybe he's just talking to them. He could be trying to make them learn Spinjitzu. It all depends on what he feels they need to learn. Maybe he's asking about their family."
Lark nodded and said. "I guess that makes sense."
The two fell silent before Lloyd asked. "Are you afraid of heights?"
"A little?" Lark said, it was a statement but she made it sound like a question.
"Good enough." Lloyd pushed himself up and heaved Lark to her feet. Suddenly he ran off the cliff.
"Lloyd!" Lark shouted in horror. She covered her eyes when a bright green light appear. She didn't want to look.
"You can open your eyes." Lark heard Lloyd chuckle. Lark peeked through her fingers and her jaw dropped as her hands fell down to her side.
A dragon. A green... dragon... made of nothing but power. Lark has never seen their elemental dragons in person. Her gaze was filled with awe as she watching Lloyd land it. "C'mon! Get on!"
Lark stared at it before hesitantly moving and pulling herself up, once Lloyd could reach her he pulled her up on the dragon and said. "Wrap your arms around me."
Lark never liked to touch celebrities. But he was telling her? So it had to he okay? She slowly snaked her arms around his waist, though once the dragon began to take off her grip tightened and she buried her gave in his shoulder, making him chuckle slightly.
"Favourite colour?" Lloyd asked as he began to just soar the skies.
"Huh?" Lark snapped her head to peek over his shoulder. "I like Lavender." She answered. "You?"
"Emerald." Lloyd answered, Lark smiled. She looked over the dragons side but quickly hid her face once more.
"Favourite thing to do?" Lark asked, her voice muffled.
"I..." Lloyd trailed off and frowned. "Read comics." He finally answered after a few minutes of silence. He didn't have a lot of free time. "What about you?"
Lark smiled softly and answered without hesitating. "I love to bake."
Lloyd grinned and said. "Nice."
Lark laughed slightly and the two fell silent as Lark began to enjoy her ride. The wind in her hair, the feeling of security she got from Lloyd. She felt safe. Even all the way up in the sky. She didnt have the courage to look though. She wouldnt be able to do that.
"We're here." Lloyd's voice broke her thoughts and she peeked up slightly to see that Lloyd was landing the elemental dragon in a clearing.
Lloyd landed his dragon and said to Lark. "You're gonna have to get off first."
Lark nodded and placed her hands on the back of the dragon and slowly slid off, hitting the ground with a "omph".
Lloyd leaped off, the dragon turning into a bunch of little green speckles as it vanished. "Are you okay?" He asked his hands felt cold against hers but she didnt mind. He pulled her up and Lark steadied herself.
"Sorry." She apologized.
"Dont apologize. It takes practice." Lloyd smiled. "Come, let my show you around."
Lloyd grabbed her hand and began to lead her through the clearing. The grass was soft and was a lovely dark green with a soft light green glow from the sun hitting it. There were a few White Oaks dotting the grounds.
"This is where I go sometimes. You cant reach it without flying. I keep trying to find a way up without flying, but no luck at all." Lloyd explained. "I figured this might he a nice spot to sit about and learn more than being in the sky." He told her, turning to face her. "And no, it isnt a secret. All my friends know of this place. It's one of the locations I suggest when you need to find me."
Lark smiled and said. "It's beautiful, Lloyd."
Lloyd chuckled and said. "Come sit, let's continue our questions."
Lloyd walked over to a smooth, very pale gray, rock that was next to one of the Oaks. Lark followed after and sat next to Lloyd once he was seated.
"Favourite... book?" Lloyd asked.
Lark was thoughtful for a moment. "I like any book with a mystery or horror, as much as a scaredy cat I am."
She looked to Lloyd who smiled and said. "You'll have to suggest some books to me. I dont read that often. Mostly comic books since they're all I really own."
"I can take you to some Book shops one day and we can get some new books." Lark smiled.
"I'd really like that." Lloyd murmured.
"So would I." Lark smiled weakly. "Do you like to draw?"
Lloyd shook his head. "Not particularly, I do like to carve though. You?"
"I like to paint more." Lark responded. "Do you carve often?"
"Not that much anymore since my training." Lloyd admitted.
"Training? Weren't you always training?" Lark asked, confused. Though the frown Lloyd made immediately made her take it back. "I'm sorry! Ignore I said anything!" She quickly apologized. She should of kept her mouth shut.
"No-" Lloyd sighed. "It's okay. You just made me realize how much training I've done. I never noticed how I never do much other than train since I was discovered to be the green ninja... even a six month break was too long without training. Wu was so upset... the longest we went without training was maybe four days since then." Lloyd admitted. "They've slowed down as they have lives now, but not me. If anything I'm training even more now."
Lark gazed at him and slowly placed a hand on his back and rubbed it.
"I never... realized how little I do things for fun until now. And soon..." Lloyd trailed off before shaking his head furiously. "Ack. It doesnt matter."
Lark gaze was filled with concern and she simply said. "I wont force you to talk, but do know if you need a place to 'work' and get away from training I'll happily let you in my shop. That way you can atleast make an earning. You have a future. You barely make new friends, and dont forget one day you might fall in love and have kids. You need time to yourself."
Lloyd looked at her with a smile and said. "Thank you. I might take you up on that offer. You can teach me how to do flower arrangements."
"Anytime!" Lark laughed. "Except when I'm off or closing. Then Misty or Stone might deal with ya."
"To answer your question though." Lloyd said looking to the sky. "I'm training to be a sensei."
Lark tilted her head and asked. "Do all decedents of The First Spinjitzu Master just become Sensei's?"
"Apparently!" Lloyd smiled.
"Alright." Lark sighed. "You shares your pain, I'll share mine." She told him. She gazed at Lloyd and asked. "Mind if I lean on you?"
"Not at all." Lloyd responded. Lark shifted her body a bit and stared up at the sky and leaned back against Lloyd's chest.
"I've had a Significant Other in high school. Me and my friends, spare for Stone and Misty, assumed we were to get married one day. But... soon he started hurting me... I left him, but he took all my friends with him spare for my two best friends." Lark sighed. "It's not something I hide from my friends." She told Lloyd. "But like... of prefer to not talk about with others. Stone and Misty keep it to themselves, and I'd like to ask for you to do the same."
"Of course!" Lloyd answered. "It'd be cruel for me to talk about that. I won't tell a soul or speak to anyone about it. Thank you for trusting me with this."
It felt so.. natural. Lark didn't feel the need to hold back. She could share things with him freely, Lloyd felt the same way. It was weird. He didnt want to keep secrets from her. But... if he one day meets that ex... he might have to keep the secret of beating him up.
The two of them continued chatting and laughing as the sun slowly began to set, cracking jokes and learning more about each other with every sentence.
