He was furious after hearing about the money. The guilt of his son doing the job at a very young age, knowing how does it feel like to do it, was eating him. His priority after getting the job was to give a carefree and wealthy living to his family. He felt the rage building up in him, but he realized it could be one of the reasons his son was not happy with him. He thought he can talk to him and sort out the matter. He opened his room door only to find an impatient Daya waiting for him.

Pradyuman: Are tum yahan kyun baithe ho aise?

Daya: (with a smile) Are baba bhool gaye aap. Aap ne kaha tha na ke yahan beach hai. Please aaj chalta hain na. Mujhe yahan ka beach bhi dekhna hai.

Pradyuman: (simply) Kisi ur din chal lein gein. Aaj thora kaam hai mujhe. Baad mein chal lein gein.

Daya: (stubbornly) Please na baba, aaj hi chalte hain, aj Sunday bhi hai.

Pradyuman saw his son's innocent face and he smiled.

Pradyuman: Acha theek hai, chalo tayyar ho jao. Chalte hain.

Daya hurriedly went to change his clothes when he stopped in the mid: Baba, bhai ko bhi lekar chalien. (Turning towards him) Main un se pooch aaon?

Pradyuman saw this as an opportunity to talk to him about everything so he nods his head in yes.

Daya went towards Abhijeet's room hoping to find him there, but the room was empty. It didn't take him any time to find where he was. The terrace was blooming with flowers, and it could be sensed that the person who owns them takes good care of them. He silently watched him watering flowers.

Abhijeet sensed someone's presence behind him. He put the watering can down, and turned around. He narrowed his eyes as soon as he got a glimpse of him. Daya saw the change of facial expressions in him but still, he smiled at him.

Daya: Wo bhai hum beach par jaa rahe hain, (hopefully) aap chalien ge sath?

Abhijeet: (sternly) Pehli baat tu yeh ke mujhe ye bhai wai na kaha karo aur dusra yeah ke (pointing his finger) mujhe tum logon ke sath jane mein koi interest nahi hai.

Daya thought he hurried it and hadn't introduced himself to him so came a little closer and forwarded his hand.

Daya: Mera naam Daya hai. (smiling) Aur aap ka mujhe pata hai bhai.

Abhijeet: (coldly looked at his forwarded hand) Tumhien bhai ka matlab pata hai.

Daya: yes, older brother probably.

Abhijeet: And I am not your older brother. Understand.

Daya felt hurt but he still politely said: Hmm. Matlab aap nahi jayien ge. (Smiling sadly) main bas aise hi pochne aaya tha, aap se abhi tak baat bhi nahi hui thi tu socha ke aap se pooch loon.

Abhijeet: (angrily) Bol tu diya ke nahi jana. You're leaving, or should I?

Daya: (quietly) I'll leave.

Daya got a little angry and hurt by his brother's action. Although he was his stepbrother, he never thought that way. He spent 20 years alone and was excited to meet him thinking he will find a companion in his brother. But it was all opposite. Abhijeet hadn't even talked to him nicely.

Daya went back to his room where Pradyuman was sitting ready. The look on Daya's face was enough to tell him the answer. Daya told him to wait for 2 mins so he could change. Pradyuman silently sat there cursing his past decisions.

The car ride was unusually silent. Daya used to talk a lot but surprisingly, he was just sitting there deep in his thoughts.

Pradyuman trying to change the environment: Are bhai tum kab se itna sochne lage. (smiling)

Daya snapped out from his thoughts: Are nahi kuch bhi nahi. Bas aise hi.

Pradyuman saw his lack of interest in the conversation so he quit.

The beach looks extra calm that day. Pradyuman tried to find peace in those harsh waves of water.

Pradyuman: Tumhein pata ahi Daya. Jab mein chota tha tu yahan apne parents ke sath bahut aata tha. We used to enjoy a lot.

Daya: Tu aap bare ho kar nahi aaye yahan?

Pradyuman: Nahi. Bare ho kar bhi aaya main utna hi. (In an inaudible tone.) woh bahut ache din the.

Daya: Kis ke sath aate the aap?

The question made him drift back into his some of the pleasant memories.

Pradyuman and Divya were walking on the beach with sweet smiles on their faces. The wind was blowing softly, with the smell of wet sand, and calmness. Divya saw Pradyuman staring at a couple so she punched his arm.

Divya: Aap kiya dusri larkiyoon ko dekehe jaa rahe hain.

Pradyuman: Are main kaunsa us ko dekh raha hoon. (Moving his head) Kab se khud gol gappe kha rah hai aur bichare apne pati ko kuch bhi nahi de rahi.

Divya: Kiya matlab? Aap dusri larkiyoon ki taraf dekh hi kyun rahe hain. (She tried to put her hands in front of his eyes) Mat Dekhien kisi ke bhi taraf.

Pradyuman: (removing her hands from his eyes) Are kiya kar rahi ho. Ab dekho main kiya karta hoon.

He starts staring at other girls there just to annoy his pretty wife.

Divya: Theek hai. Dekho. Jab koi marne aaye ga an tu main ruko gi bhi nahi. Kahoon gi ke maro, sahi se maro. Take in ka jo dhila screw hai who tight ho jaye.

Pradyuman face opened in an awe: Ab aisa karo gi tum mere sath. Theek hai. jao amin nahi baat karoon ga ab tum se.

Divya: Acha ahi. Jab se faltu bole jaa rah hain.

Pradyuman turned his face to another side while walking. At some moments, he felt the urge to talk to his wife but he frowned and kept quiet.

Divya was smiling looking at him knowing how talkative his husband is and how difficult is it for him to keep quiet.

Pradyuman: Acha baba maaf karo. Nahi dekhon ga kisi ki bhi taraf. (naughtily) tumhari taraf bhi nahi dekhoon ga.

Divya hit his arm again and said: Ab chale ghar, agar aap bhul gaye hain tu bata doon ke hum yahan thore der ke liye aaye the, aur mujhe ghar jakar khana bhi bana na hai.

They walk towards their home and the sun sets behind them…

Daya: Baba, maine pocha tha ke kis ke sath aate the?

Pradyuman: (hiding his gaze) Doston ke sath aata tha. (Changing the topic immediately) Yeh batao, tumhien yeh beach kaisa laga?

Daya; Its nice, different from the one in UK. But it's beautiful.

Pradyuman: Pehle tu yeh aur zyada saaf hua karta tha, ab thora ganda ho gaya hai. Kher. You want to eat something?

Daya: yes, (he pointed towards the ice cream stall.

Pradyuman smiled at him and the both wet towards the stall.

Vibha was sitting angrily on the bed while holding her head in frustration. Suresh was roaming inside the room, continuously slamming his fist on his palm.

Suresh: (angrily) Kiya zaroorat thi ye bolne ki ke woh paise hum usse nahi dete. Han. Aur bhaiya ko tu dekho. Kaise do din mein aate hi foran bete ke ho gaye. Jaise hum ne tu us ko paal pos kar bara nahi kiya.

Vibha: Are mujhe kon sa pata tha ke woh yeh kare ga. Bhai mujhe tu laga tha ke yeh batane se shayad us ka bhipra hua dimaagh kabo mein aaye. Lekin woh bhai sahab tu aur bhi bhipar gaye.

Suresh: Kasam se maa agar paisoon ki baat na hoti na toh mein is Abhijeet ko bhi kab ka maar chuka hota.

Vibha: Acha bas chup abhi. Jitni nafrat Abhijeet Pradyuman se karne laga hai na (smiling evilly) Dekhna chahe woh kuch bhi karle, Abhijeet ke niggahon mein apni jagah nahi bana paye ga.

Suresh: Maa, hamien aisa kuch karna pare ga ke bhaiya yahan ruke nahin. Woh wapis chale jayien take sab kuch pehle jaise ho jaye. Mujh se nahi hoti yeh acting acha banne ki. (angrily) Upar se yeh bhai ka alag dimaagh kharab hua jaa raha hai. Rozana koi nayi baat. (With a little tense face) Is tarah to maa sab khul jaye ga.

Vibha: (showing her hand) Ach abs chup ab. (shaking her head) Aik tareeka hai mere paas...
