Lark blinked open her eyes and gasped in shock. Warmth... there was another body in bed with her... wait. This wasnt her bed. Fear filled her as she tried to think back to what happened last night.
Lark slowly pushed herself up, but the other body had one arm draped over her body. She didnt want to wake them. What if theyd get mad? What if they'd hurt her.
She shakily flopped back into the bed and tried to keep her breathing steady, but she just couldnt. She was scared.
"Hrm?" A male voice groggily mumbled. "Oh shit." It, no... he breathed out, he took his arm off Lark and shook her.
"Please dont hurt me." Lark whined out quietly, which made the other one jolt back slightly.
"What?" He questioned. Lark could recognized that voice... it was Lloyd. "I'm not going to hurt you, Lark."
Lark looked up and met Lloyd's confused gaze and she slowly sat up in the bed. "Erm. You know how this happened?" Lark asked.
"Nope. I remember us hugging then watching a movie, we must of fallen asleep during it." Lloyd hummed.
Oh... that made sense.
Lark nodded slowly and said. "Yeah.. that... makes sense."
"Are you okay?" Lloyd asked. Concern was in his green eyes as he looked her up and down. Lark hugged herself tightly and stared at Lloyd for a moment before throwing herself against him.
"I'm scared..." She forced out. "I've been thinking. If Misty and Stone become students... who will help me in my shop? How can I pay all these bills? I only have Misty and Stone working for me, no one else has ever applied except for one.. and they... were really... good.. and now I'm so worried. What do I do? What can I do? Do I have to leave Ninjago City?" Lark felt the tears begin to slip down her cheeks as she choked. Not in front of Lloyd... she couldnt cry in front of him.
"Hey, hey... don't cry." Lloyd gently hugged her, much like she did for him. "You can live here." Lloyd told her. "It's unfair to seperate you from your friends, and if Wu has to train Misty and Stone then he wont have much time to train me, meaning I can help you in your shop. It won't be much, but I'll do the best I can to make sure you'll be okay. This is a huge change in all our lives and it's important that we make sure everyone has the support they need." Lloyd quietly told her. "We all will work things out. Even if I have to argue with Wu, I wont let you suffer from a choice he makes."
Lark gazed up at him, her cheeks red and her eyes puffy and red and as she stared at him she made a small smile. They were friends. Good friends. They shared their pain with little issue, they didnt seem to disagree much.
Lloyd slowly unwrapped his arms from her as she shifted around and he smiled weakly. "We'll make it work." He reassured her.
Lark blinked slowly and then slowly pulled back. Her eyes glued on his. "Okay." She quietly forced out. "Okay."
Lloyd and Lark slowly got out of his bed and Lloyd walked over to a wooden dresser, it was a deep red with green tinting resting over it, which she didnt really expect.
Lloyd pulled out a white t-shirt and light gray sweat pants and threw them to Lark, who barely caught them.
"There's a bathroom across the hall." Lloyd said without looking up as he continued to dig through his clothing. "You can get changed in there, come back in here when you're done."
Lark nodded shyly and said. "Thank you." Before leaving Lloyd in his room alone. Lark quickly changed in the bathroom and stared at herself in the mirror. The clothes were quite baggy on her but it was nice of Lloyd to let her borrow his clothes. She quickly combed her hair with a brush, that scarily had her name on it, though she recognized Misty's writing. Once Lark was done she washed up her face and hands and left the bathroom, walking back across the hallway and opening Lloyd's door. She blushed slightly when she noticed Lloyd was just pulling a shirt over his head. She gazed at his body before she managed to squeeze her eyes shut and walk into the room and opened them again.
"Hey, Lark." Lloyd waved. "Didnt think you'd finish up so quickly."
Lark smiled and said. "Heyo, yeah. It didnt take too long." She slightly looked down his body, and then gazed up at his face again.
Lloyd raised an eyebrow to which she laughed it off awkwardly and said. "Dont mind me. My eyes are always a bit... wandery." She joked.
Lloyd shrugged it off and said. "That's understandable, not much I'll disagree with that."
"So... Misty and Stone?" Lark pryed.
"Ah, right." Lloyd nodded firmly. "Let's go see if they're here and what the plans are for the future."
When the pair made their way to the kitchen they didn't expect to walk into the middle of an argument.
"What about Lark?" Misty hissed to Wu, making a pit grow in Lark's stomach and slightly buried her face into Lloyd's side.
"She can do whatever she pleases." Wu said lowly. "It's really important for you two to train and get a hold on your powers. If unchecked they can be very dangerous." Wu said. "We'll be starting to work out cleaning out some of the rooms, though we also have Yang's Temple available too."
"If we're training then Lark wont have someone to run her shop with her. She needs employees." Misty argued.
"She needs a place to live. Bills are expensive and Lark already has three jobs." Stone growled.
"You have three jobs?" Lloyd said in shock."
"The other two jobs have no set schedule. They're commission based." Lark explain, her voice muffled slightly by his body.
This made the three realize that Lark and Lloyd were there."
"Oh.. hello..." Wu said, raising an eyebrow. "I'm sure you heard that your friends are worried for what you'll be doing since theyll be training under me."
Lark eyes widen slightly when he spoke to her. She looked up to Lloyd and met his gaze... it was soft...
"I'll be living here and continue working while also looking for more employees for my shop." Lark declared.
Wu looked to Lloyd and Lark. "You two will be sharing a space I assume until Jay and Nya move out?" He asked.
"Sure." Lloyd smiled. "I dont mind." Lark smiled weakly and slowly seperated herself from Lloyd.
"Jay and Nya are moving?" Lark asked.
"Yes. Since they are starting their own family they believe it's best to move out and start up the next step in their lives. Skylor has moved in with Kai while Pixal and Zane have decided to stay here and continue to live in the Monastery as they have no plans as of now." Wu explained.
"Stone and I are getting some of the extra rooms, but the other extra room is a storage room so there isnt another for you until someone moves out." Misty explained.
"And the temple hasnt really been a place where we've all been staying lately." Lloyd admitted. "We've chosen to use it only when we have too, it doesnt feel right to use the temple like we have in the past."
"Well... it's decided." Lark said. "We'll just have to sell our old house."
Misty and Stone nodded. "Fuuun." Stone breathed out.
Lloyd rolled his eyes slightly and smiled weakly while Lark just let out a laugh.
