I'm baaaack!

How have ya'll been?

Dark couldn't post the chapter tonight due to a stressful situation, so sorry it's late. I was/am getting very stoned.

Anyway, hope ya enjoy the chapter!

"But whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhy though?" He hears Roy whine before he hears a hard thunk, unable to help his snort.

"Because tests are supposed to be passed?" Jane questions as he rounds the bookshelf separating him from Chibi-Chan's study group.

"Oh, so the mouse does squeak." Roy huffs as he props his head up on his hand.

"Leave her alone." Carlos sighs as he scoots slightly closer to the girl who was red-faced and staring at the book in front of her as if it were the most fascinating thing ever written, "You're just mad that she's right."

Roy sighs before his eyes look between the two with a pout, "But-" He blows air out. "I don't want to pass." He grumbles.

"You've got a C average, you just need a C or higher on the test." Carlos points out before he plucks a page from his open binder and passes it to Roy, "And here, a study guide."

Roy groans as he pulls the stack towards him petulantly. "Why do you choose to be like this?"

"Because I care about you and want you to succeed." Carlos smirks, "Duh."

"Of course you'd say that," Roy rolls his eyes. "GT." He sticks out his tongue childishly.

"Meh." Carlos shrugs, "If it works it works."

"GT?" Jane whispers almost to herself.

"He's saying I guilt trip him into studying." Carlos explains to her, "I mean, he's not wrong."

"Oh." Jane blinks with another bold blush before she glances at Roy, to Carlos, to her book again.

He cringes.

Just watching her was painful.

Noted.

Malgon's sis needed some serious work if she was going to survive.

Both life and the pack.

He shakes his head before he steps out of the aisle he'd been hiding in. "Chibi-chan, Red, Squeaker." He nods his head in greeting, his hands casually resting in his pockets.

Jane squeaks in surprise as the three look up at him.

"Hey, Dad." Carlos grins.

Dad. His grin widens.

It was still fucking weird.

But with Chibi-chan calling him it?

It made him nothing short of thrilled.

"Fucker," Roy glares, "I knew I heard a snort."

"You didn't feel him watching us?" Carlos tilts his head to the side.

Roy sticks his tongue out again, "Not all of us have six senses."

Carlos frowns before he looks as if he wants to say something but shrugs and turns back to him, "What's up?"

"Jus' wanted to play a game of round up." He grins, "C'mon, Chibi-Chan, you need a break and I heard you wanted some letters sent."

"Oh!" Carlos jumps up from his seat.

He chuckles before he looks at the other two, "See you two later," His eyes narrow at Roy, "An' Red, play nice with Squeaker."

"I'm sure Jane won't mind a break. She's pretty awesome at CoD."

"Oh? I am?" Jane smiles.

Carlos nods as Roy pffts.

"Better than Mal." Roy chuckles.

"I'm sure that's not true." Jane quickly shakes her head, "Mal's amazing at everything."

Carlos rubs the back of his head, "She'd have you think that, wouldn't she."

Roy shakes his head as he stands and pulls Jane from her chair, "No time to answer, CoD calls."

He chuckles as Roy all but carries Jane from the room in his haste.

"He really hates studying." Carlos sighs as he walks around the table.

"Oh?" His eyes full of mirth, "He looked like he was lovin' it to me."

"Maybe we should ask Baymax to give you a check-up." Carlos grins up at him.

He snorts, "I should probably add a psych program, shouldn't I…" His eyes narrow.

When they brought those kids over.

It would definitely help the rest of his Ohana figure shit out if Baymax could run diagnostics on disorders and conditions and whatever the fuck else they were called.

"He downloads databases almost every time we talk." Carlos explains absently as he pulls a neatly folded paper from his jacket, "I think he likes to learn."

"Oh, he totally does," He grins, "But he needs a base understanding to add to."

"Would it be okay if I watch when you do add one?"

"Duh." He ruffles his hair. "Would'ah been concerned if you didn't."

"One day I want to help, but not on your original." Carlos shakes his head.

"Fair." He nods as he leads the way out, "Know where the others are?"

"Um. I think Evie's working on the Queen's dress. I saw Doug heading that way with a Chem book after class anyway. And Jay mentioned getting some training in with Lonnie while they studied. So I think they're at the range."

He nods, "And Malgon?"

"She's been…" Carlos scrunches his face, "Weird."

His brow crinkles, "What's weird for her? She handin' out cookies or something, cause I want some."

"That would be awesome, not weird-" Carlos's brow furrows in confusion, "Okay, maybe a little weird, but so so worth it." He holds up his finger for emphasis.

"Agreed." He chuckles. "So let's collect Scary lady first."

Carlos nods as he pulls out his phone, "Got it, message Doug to warn E."

He rubs the back of his head, "Good idea."

"I'll text Ben and see if he's seen Mal. Other than that, I think she got some new paint so she might be working on something down at the Tourney field."

"Kay," He nods, "Best to go collect Jay first then, "Doubt he'll hear his phone over firing and flirting."

Carlos snorts, "It's kind of funny to see him actually tripping with Lonnie. He and Harry were the best hunters on the Isle."

"I can see it," He nods.

"Uh-huh." Carlos ducks under his arm as they head outside, "Apparently he's really lucky too." He looks around before he leans in closer, "Did you know sex can make you sick?"

He pauses as he does a double-take, "What!?"

What the fuck did his Chibi-Chan know about sex?

Why wasn't he informed?

How?

He was so-

Please, for the love of Kami, just let that be a random fact he'd picked up.

He schools his expression when his thoughts try to go to a darker place and quickly slams that door shut.

Don't overreact.

Don't act.

Don't do anything.

Let the kid explain.

Let him explain.

Let him explain.

"Jay told us he and David had a talk about how hunting on the Isle isn't the same thing as dating here in Auradon," Carlos shrugs, "David like, freaked him out because he told him you can get sick from having sex."

"Ah," He lets out a deep sigh of relief. "Yeah, they're called STDs," His brow crinkles, "or STI's now, maybe? It's been a while…" He shakes his head. He'd been such a slut before he'd met Lilo, "Not the point. You don't have to worry about that shit for like-" He studies Carlos, "til, your like… Something? Not now though. Definitely not right now."

"From the way Evie explained sex, I'm not interested. It sounds complicated and babies are scary."

"Oh thank Kami," He lets out, "Wait-" His eyes widen. "Yeah, yeah babies are scary. Terrifying even." He nods emphatically.

"And who wants to hurt a girl like that?" Carlos sighs, "Babies can kill people."

He blinks.

"What?"

"Don't they?" Carlos looks up at him as he awkwardly rubs the back of his head, "A lot of my friends don't have moms."

His chest constricts at the implication,

"I mean," He rubs his neck, "Yeah, that's true, but it doesn't really…" He closes his eyes as he takes a deep breath.

"Isle thing?"

"I mean," He frowns, "Did you guys not have, like, medical supplies or like, doc-" Nope. Already knew that answer. "midwives?"

"Facilier is a doctor, but I don't think he's that kind of doctor. But what are midwives?"

His eyes narrow thoughtfully, Facillier. Facillier. Facillier?

Nope.

Nothing.

"Doubt it." He shrugs, "But uh, yeah, midwives are people who help women go through childbirth so there aren't any complications. Doctors more so. People don't really die from birth anymore. At least not here. Used to though, like all the time back forever ago."

"It's good it's not normal."

No shit.

He nods, "And uh, while we're on the subject, sex should never hurt a girl." He shoves his hands in his pockets.

Carlos frowns as he looks up, "Sex shouldn't hurt anyone."

"Oh thank kami," He turns to him, "Accurate."

"Are you okay?" Carlos pulls him to a stop and puts a hand to his forehead.

"Um, so-so." He admits sheepishly, "I just- You're like a teenager. I didn't, I never- Um, sex talks and stuff. Didn't think about it…"

"Oh." Carlos shrugs they start walking again, "It's okay if you don't want to talk about it."

"No, no, it's cool. Just never, ya know, thought about it."

"How about if I have questions, I'll ask?"

"Perfect." He nods, "That one."

Carlos grins up at him, "You're the best."

"Most of the time." He agrees easily, "But, you're better."

He smiles when Carlos's answer is to wrap an arm around him as they continue walking.

He relaxes as the conversation eases into science until they reach the range.

He chuckles at Carlos's excitement when he talks him through the steps of opening the door. Enjoying the way his face lights up with awe over the level of security.

But then he flinches at the gunshots echoing through the open door.

Shit.

Nope.

Didn't think that one through.

He puts his hand on his shoulder before he guides him back outside. "Why don't you stay here, it'll only take a minute."

Carlos nods before he sits with his back to the wall and pulls his knees to his chest.

He sighs and pats his head, "Be right back." He promises before he quickly accesses the range and rushes down the hall, committed to not leaving his son alone after that for long.

He lets out a loud whistle, "Yo, Sumūzuna Washa,* He greets with a partial grin. "Huntress." He nods to Lonnie.

"Safety and down," Lonnie says as she follows her own instructions before she turns to him with a smile.

"Hey Hiro," Jay greets with a grin as he turns and pulls his earphones down, "S'up?"

"Letters to the barge, interested?"

"Fuck yeah! "bout time everyone finished." Jay nods as he pulls the headphones off and stashes them under the firing counter.

Lonnie chuckles as she lowers her headphones around her neck, "Enjoy." She kisses his cheek. "I needed to study anyway. I'm aiming for a hundred on my exams. Someone's gotta give Carlos some competition."

"Have fun with that," Jay grimaces, "But um, let me know if I can help."

"Kay," She pats his head, "See you after dinner then."

He smiles before he's back out the door. "Beta's on his way out."

"Cool. Cool." Carlos nods before he pushes himself to his feet, "So um, I don't think I like guns if that's the sound they make."

He sucks his teeth, "Fair." He nods, "How bout bows?"

"Roy did offer to teach me."

"I mean, it's only fair ya let him if you're forcin' him to study."

"He kills me, dad," Carlos whines, "he's so smart, but he doesn't like, care if people know he is or not."

He chuckles as he ruffles his hair, "He's also a Junior that should be a Senior."

"He reminds me of that all the time," Carlos rolls his eyes, "because he doesn't want to graduate ahead of us."

He snorts, "Oh," He nods, "Good, cause I already know that kid's gonna bomb."

"He is not." Carlos bristles, "He would not do that."

He ruffles his hair, "Kay."

"No, he's…" Carlos tilts his head back until it almost cracks into the building, "Why did you say that?"

"Kid was desperate for friends and found 'em," He shrugs. "He doesn't want to leave this place before you guys."

Carlos frowns as he looks at him, "Why would graduating make a difference? We'd still be friends."

"Yeah, but not like, able to chill so easily friends."

"Oh." Carlos drops his eyes to his feet, "I guess I didn't think about that."

"Just don't be too disappointed in 'im is all I'm saying." He offers gently.

"I mean, that's forever away anyway."

"How long have you been here?" He lifts a brow.

"Including today? One hundred and forty-nine days."

He grins. Of course his Chibi Chan would know the exact number, "How long does it feel like?"

"A long time." Carlos sighs, "But, some days moved faster than other days."

He frowns as he nods his head, "Makes sense," He rubs the back of his head, "Time is pretty relative, but I would imagine if you asked Red the same question, a long time wouldn't be his response."

"Oh." Carlos frowns.

"It's an Isle thing, C." Jay explains as he closes the door behind him, "I had that talk with Cobra. People in Auradon and other places plan whole lives out sometimes. Or like years."

"What?" Carlos tilts his head to the side, "Like, really?"

He looks between them as a sadness constricts his chest.

These kids…

Fuck.

The images from the videos try to surface before he shuts it the fuck down.

Compartmentalize.

Compartmentalize.

Shove that shit in a box right now and compartmentalize.

"Last day of school is a school and career fair." Jay explains as he settles his bag on his shoulder, "Cobra thought it might help us to check it out. Apparently if you like something you should start planning the school you want to go to for it."

"But we have two years before that-" Carlos frowns as he looks up at him and then away.

"Yeah," He agrees slowly, "But once the rest of you are here, that'll fly by quicker than you think."

Just like the fucking months they'd cut.

Fucks be damned.

This shit was killing him.

End of June was go time, and only because an operation this size did need a lot of planning and fine-tuned details.

It would be fucked to just drop a fuck ton of kids in a new place and just go, 'have at.'

Fucking Cobra.

Fucking logic.

He could feel the tightness in his jaw all over again.

"Is your school going to be at the fair thing?" Carlos asks quietly.

He snorts, "No. Why would I bother?"

"Oh." Carlos sighs.

Pain suddenly bursts from the back of his head.

"Lolo." Jay growls before he starts pulling the two of them back towards the campus, "He wants to go to your fucking school."

"Well, duh. It's awesome." He blushes, "And I mean, I didn't realize- I mean, I just assumed-"

"Really?" Carlos instantly brightens back up, "So, then you'll help me get ready? Or, can you not because you're the Dean, you're the Dean of the school right? I just, looking online about how to get accepted can only get me so far."

"You come up with the idea, I'll help find you the components. But I have no doubt you'll be able to get in."

"Cool, cause if we can plan that far out, then I already know I want to be a scientist. But like, with technology," He rubs his hands together thoughtfully, "like you."

He grins brightly, "Nice. I was afraid you were gonna go chem-" He holds up his hands, "Not that you can't double-dip but… I wanted you to- uh-"

"Make the choice myself?"

"Yeah, that one!"

"You two-" Jay rolls his eyes, "are ridiculous."

He snorts, "You know you love us," He chuckles as he wraps an arm around Jay and gives him a noogie.

"Duh-" Jay easily slips from his hold, "ridiculous or not, still the best Ohana."

"Right?" He grins stupidly, "Speakin' of though, Doug's talkin' down Scary lady, but do you know where Malgon is?"

"I do." Jay nods as his jaw tightens.

He tilts his head to the side, "S'up?"

"Ben told her about the council meeting," Jay explains with a casual shrug.

"Ah…" He looks away. "So she with the prince then?"

"Has been since last night."

He falls silent, content to simply listen as Carlos launches into an explanation about Ben's latest proposal plans and how Mal must be helping him out.

"Do you mind grabbing my letter from the desk when you go in to get E?" Jay asks Carlos once they reach the dorm.

Carlos rolls his eyes, "Yeah yeah." He sighs before he takes off ahead of them.

Wait?

What?

Noooo-

A weird noise leaves him as he reaches out for Carlos.

"Did you want me to ask questions in front of him?" Jay rolls his eyes.

"No?" He sighs before he turns to him somberly.

Resigned.

He should have seen that coming.

"We figured you have to be the one looking over the cameras," Jay shrugs before he looks around, "who the fuck else would Ben trust with it?"

He looks away, "Yeah."

He hadn't lied to these kids once, and like fuck was he going to start now.

Jay sighs before he crosses his arms over his chest, "Look, I don't want to make you weird or uncomfortable, just, have you seen them?"

"Yeah," He nods. "I have."

"Like, all of it?" Jay asks, his eyes going wide with a strange mixture of awe and fear.

"It hasn't been easy. They only keep a few weeks of data saved, though I'm working on getting into its backlogs…"

"Oh." Jay breathes out in relief as one hand braces on his shoulder, "Cool, cool, cool. That's cool."

"But I am me, so I managed to isolate some fragmented data groupings." He sighs, "Um, I did have a question. I ran facials on everyone Deez sent a pic of-"

"So you've been able to see people?" Jay blinks at his hand on his shoulder before he pulls it back, "See the others?"

He nods, "T was a bit harder."

"Fucking hoodies." Jay rolls his eyes.

"Right?" He snorts, "I've found like, four wearing them over the past three months?"

Working the way he was made it hard to entirely know the timeline. Some data included it, others were missing a timestamp.

"Four wearing the black hoodies?"

"Well, three wearing the solid black hoodies, one has a giant spider on the back." He corrects. "So, I was hoping you could help me a bit, since you already know."

Which, seriously Ben?

Omitting was a thing for a fucking reason.

Jay nods, "I, well I think I want to see the cameras, but Cobra said only with him if I do."

He holds up his hands, "If Cobra okayed it, I mean, I'll show you. But only with him."

"Did something happen when our OVs escaped?" Jay asks after taking a deep breath and rubbing at his eyes, "Like, I know they're tough and are doing what we always did, so I think I'm having a hard time telling if you're looking sick because it's the normal Isle or if something worse than the normal Isle is happening to them."

Fuck him.

Fuck him so much.

These kids were so fucking perceptive.

But, they wouldn't be here if that wasn't the case.

Not if that was where they lived.

The stupid fucking Isle.

Still, fuck him.

He was so screwed right now if Jay asked the right questions.

"A lot of the cameras went down when that gong rang."

Jay nods.

Redirect.

Redirect

Re-

"Does Mal have a brother?"

Jay's brow furrows, "No."

"Oh."

"Why?"

He shrugs, "Maleficent claimed the kid in the spider hoodie as her son."

"What?" Jay's arms tighten over his chest, "Why would Maleficent-" His eye widen before he closes them, "Oh, fuck… No…" His arms drop to his sides, "Noooooo. That- No?"

"Right," He nods, "I mean, was just checking.."

"That seriously happened?" Jay questions sternly.

"Why?"

Jay rolls his eyes before he taps his fists against the wall, "Because if that's true it means T's on the Isle trying to hold shit together as the goddam leader."

"Ah." He grimaces. "And, you got there because…?"

"T's obsessed with the fucking spider guarding the restricted section of the library at Dragon Hall. And Maleficent is obsessed with T, and scared of him."

"That's fair." He mumbles.

That kid had taken out quite the number of grown-ass men in a month.

At least, that was what he was starting to make of the images.

Sure, the other one had helped but…

"So, if there was another kid in a hoodie traveling with him that would be-?"

"Harry." Jay rolls his eyes, "They were both wearing black hoodies on the video chat."

"And if there was a tiny one that would be-"

"Tiny one?"

"Yeah, like barely made it to half the windows tiny."

"Deez if it's alone." Jay presses a hand to his chest, "They better not be letting Dizzy wander around on her own."

Noted.

"So, if there were more, It would be Dizzy?"

"Is there a camera on the Curl up and Dye?"

"The hair salon right?"

Jay nods.

"Oh, then no. That kid only leaves with the big guy- Gil and the tiny hoodie."

"Definitely Deez then."

"Ah…" He nods.

So, he'd been right then.

Cool.

"Do not tell Mal." Jay presses his hands to his temples, "She always thought T was going to start a cult or something with the way he dressed. And she was fucking livid when she saw Harry. I knew Deez had a black hoodie, but I made her hide that shit."

He can't help his snort, "Yeah, I could see the whole cult thing being a fear."

Jay leans back into the wall as he takes a deep breath.

"Brah," He frowns, "You good?"

Cause he certainly didn't look it.

"I always thought T would be the death of me. One way or another."

He looks the other boy over, "Why? I mean the kid looked like he could hold his own."

"Because he's a fucking idiot that doesn't fucking take care of himself." Jay snaps at him, "kinda like you sometimes, man."

"Oh," He grins as he waves dismissively, "Then he'll grow out of it."

"You didn't!" Jay glares up at him as he slides down the wall.

"Ah," He drops his finger. "I mean, sure, but I grew outta most of it." He rubs the back of his head.

Jay's eyes widen again before he shakes his head and waves him off. "I can't with you right now."

"Same."

"What did I do?"

"Oh no," He holds up his hands, "I meant, can't deal with me."

"Fuck, help me up before Carlos and Evie get out here." Jay asks as he holds his hand up.

He quickly grasps his hand and pulls him to his feet, "You really gotta learn to take smaller bites, brah."

"I'm not eating pizza, brah."

"Choking is choking, brah."

Jay narrows his eyes, "I can handle shit-"

"Didn't say you couldn't, but maybe next time wait to eat."

"No." Jay shakes his head, "It gives you time to think."

"What's wrong with having time to think," He crosses his arms.

"You're better at schooling yourself when you have warning."

"Oh, eh," He blushes, "Uh, fuck you?"

Jay shrugs, "I have to know things. It's my job." He sighs, "But, can we continue this conversation later?"

"Would be my preference."

"I'm sorry if I pissed you off." Jay purses his lips as he looks away, "Sometimes you just, really remind me of him."

"You didn't." He rubs the back of his head. "And-" He tilts his head to the side.

Him?

Oh.

T.

It wasn't the first time one of these kids had made the comparison.

"I'm sorry?"

"Don't be. T's actually pretty awesome," Jay chuckles lightly, "just also a pain in the ass."

"Huh," He tilts his head to the side.

That's not the impression he usually got about the kid.

I mean, yeah, pain in the ass, he'd definitely picked that up quick.

But- He sighs.

"If you wanna know more, just, like, hit me up with Bubbles later. I ain't qualified for this shit, and I get pissed about it. So, that's probably what you're picking up on."

"That's how I felt when I had to deal with emotions on the Isle." Jay shrugs, "I get it."

He sighs, "Sorry, I'm usually a lot less volatile."

Jay smiles before he hugs him, "Liar."

He snorts as he wraps his arms around him, "I never said I'm not usually passionate. Just, ya know, not so… Pissed about everything."

"I'll take pissed over awkward." Jay admits as he pulls away, "Our whole Ohana tried to hide it, but I know it pisses you off when we talk about that shit."

He ruffles Jay's hair, "I like to think about it as righteous fury,"

"Sure." Jay chuckles as he bats his hand away and runs his hands over his hair.

"Oh come on," He pouts, "Chibi-chan lets me do it all the time."

"You had three seconds."

He snorts, "Three clearly tortuous seconds."

"Nah," Jay drops his gaze, "I like it, just-"

"Ha! I knew it." He pumps his fist victoriously.

Jay blushes.

"I won't do it in halls anymore." He chuckles, "I get it, my brother used to embarrass the shit outta me with that crap all the time."

"You don't embarrass me." Jay looks up in confusion.

He tilts his head, "No?"

Jay shakes his head.

"Huh, good." He nods in approval, "Cause I'm a boss ass uncle, and everyone should be jealous."

Jay takes a deep breath before he looks up and nods, "Yeah, duh."

He grins. "Damn right duh."

"What's duh?" Carlos asks as he and Evie join them.

"That I'm boss." He turns as his grin widens.

"Yeah, duh." Carlos holds a letter out to Jay.

"I don't know," Evie looks him over, "Your hair could really use some work." She pulls a brush from her bag as she stands on her tiptoes. "Just come here for a second."

He laughs, "No fucking way."

Jay snorts as he holds his hands up, "She's your scary girl."

"E. My dad is awesome, take it back." Carlos demands before he grabs his hand and starts dragging him down the hall.

"I mean awesome doesn't have to be mussy," Evie follows them, "What's wrong with you and Mal? Just brush it."

"Mal doesn't brush her hair?" He turns over his shoulder curiously.

"She does now." Jay chuckles as he pulls Evie to his side and wraps his arm around her shoulders.

She pouts, "It'll only take a second."

"Lil' liar." He snorts.

"I like it all spiky." Carlos frowns before he pinches one of his curls.

"Thank you, I style it every-" He pauses, "Time I wake up."

Carlos stops so suddenly he runs into him.

Shit.

"So every day then?"

"Uh…"

"Remember when I said T is awesome, but also a pain in the ass?"

"I seem to recall that, yes."

Jay snorts before he gestures to him with his free hand.

Evie huffs, "T would let me brush his hair."

"That's because T is wrapped around your fingers." Jay shrugs.

"Because he knows wicked when he sees it." Evie nods. "Unlike some heathens."

"Oh no scary princess, you're wicked for days." He holds up his hands.

"Hey, you're sleeping every day now, right?" Carlos pulls his attention again, "Like you promised me you would."

He turns back to Carlos, "Right." He nods, "What I had meant to say was, that, I style my hair like every couple of days, I just didn't want to piss the scary one off."

"You need a little Baymax babysitter."

"What do think your mom is for?"

"Oh. Okay." Carlos turns and starts walking again, still holding onto his hand.

"Wait. Wait, I don't like that tone." He looks down at Carlos in concern.

Evie and Jay both grimace.

"You shouldn't."

"Yeah…" He hangs his head. "Yep."

Noted.

Evie titters, "I wasn't the only one who had T wrapped around my finger."

"I'm so screwed." He sighs in resignation.

"Only if you don't take care of yourself." Carlos glares over his shoulder.

"So, like, he's screwed then." Jay chuckles.

"At least until I talk to mom."

"Or, hear me out, a peanut butter cup vending machine in your room?"

"You mean a fuck ton more to me than peanut butter cups." Carlos pouts.

He opens his mouth, before the words register and he stops dead in his tracks.

Aw.

He pulls Carlos into a tight hug.

Carlos breathes out as he hugs him back.

Jay claps him on the back as he walks past, "Yep, screwed."

"We'll get Ben and Mal, meet you outside?" Evie continues.

"Yeah," He nods, "Big spaceship, can't miss it." He teases.

"I like the hug, but I'm still telling mom. You both need to sleep. And don't married people sleep together. Shouldn't you guys be doing that?"

He stutters, "I mean we do."

"When?"

He blushes, "Like five times a week."

"You guys only sleep five times a week?"

He hears Jay die down the hall.

"We're working on it." He rubs the back of his head.

"Mom said it was the first time in a long time that you guys actually got sleep in the same room when we made the fort."

"Uh," He blanks, "Let's go to the ship Chibi-Chan." He picks him up, slinging him to his back before he starts walking. "You have to tell mom on me, remember? Let's do that."

Carlos tilts his head to the side, "What did I miss?"

"Nope." His ears burn.

Why? Why had he thought he'd thought that's what Carlos was asking.

He lets out a deep sigh.

"Do you guys just live on the ship now?"

"Yep." He nods.

Carlos frowns, "Is it because you're afraid to go home?"

He tilts his head to the side, "Well, our home is kinda here now."

"But your school is in San Fransokyo."

"I mean, Wasabi's kinda loving the power." He shrugs.

"I can walk."

He pouts.

Carlos's legs lock around his waist and his arms tighten around his neck, "Or not."

He grins, "Sorry, if you wanna walk you totally can."

"Nope."

He chuckles, "Well, there goes your one chance."

He shrugs, "So, are you gonna buy a house here like David and Nani did?"

"After I tell the king what's up, yeah, that's our plan."

Carlos smiles happily before he frowns.

"S'up?" He nudges his head with his.

"You guys are making a lot of changes for me."

"Worth it."

"I'd feel bad about wanting you to sleep every night, but no." Carlos shakes his head.

He chuckles, "There are worse things."

"I just don't want you to always be tired. Or end up in the hospital. Again."

"It's not always like that,"

Carlos gives him an incredulous look, "Baymax told on you."

"Fucker." He grumbles. "Et tu Baymax, et tu."

"Et tu?"

"'And you' in latin. It's a history thing. A king got betrayed by his most loyal friend, and it was his last words or something."

"Really? That made history?"

He nods, "History is dumb."

"I mean, I like the stories, but-"

"But, that's the thing, they're stories. Usually very subjective stories."

Carlos nods, "Yeah. History class on the Isle and here are way different."

He closes his eyes, "Bet they are." He shakes his head before he turns to Carlos with a lop-sided grin, "That being said, I'mma make sure I give them a lot of shit to work with. It's gonna be a roll of the dice." He chuckles, "Either way, they'll be writing 'bout me for damn sure."

Probably all of them with the stunt they were going to pull once they got all the kinks worked out.

It was just a little over a month.

Fucking Cobra.

Needing plans.

Dumb.

"They already write about you." Carlos hugs him tighter as he rests his head on his shoulder to watch him, "And not just because you're smart."

"I do enjoy living on the edge."

"Apparently, you're in the newspaper almost everyday."

"What can I say, people know greatness when they see it."

"Then greatness should take breaks."

He snorts, "Now, where would be the fun in that?"

"My sanity." Carlos shrugs, "No big deal or anything."

"Chibi-chaaaaan" He whines, "Don't be like that."

"You knew what you were adopting." Carlos grins as he points a finger at him accusingly, "I warned you. I tried to talk you out of it at one point."

He chuckles, "Don't be a baka, naggy lil' badger or not, best decision we've ever made."

Carlos bites his lip, but the smile doesn't fade.

"'Sides one of us needs to be an adult." He teases. "Jus' ya know… Don't tell anyone."

"Just so you know, David already mentioned that to me. So he knows and it's not my fault."

"So does Cobra." He sighs. "When Lilo brought me home, he just let out a long heavy ass sigh followed by really? Doing the whole pinchy nose thing. And then told her, the love of my life, the sakura of my eye, 'the drug dealer was entrapanural'." He snorts, "Asshole."

Carlos blinks before he lets out a slow breath, "Yeah, that checks."

He glances him over, "He's a great guy ya know, sure looks a bit scary." He shrugs, "He's got a stick up his ass the size of Auradon."

Carlos snorts, "He's pretty cool. The first time he saw all of us together he played CoD with us."

"Course he did." He mumbles.

Fucking sly mother fucker.

Why?

Why had he introduced that man to CoD?

He pouts.

Cobra had spent months dedicated to playing with kami damn handguns. Who the fuck did that? It defeated the whole purpose of the damn game.

Mr. Stealth extraordinaire walking around like he fucking owned the maps.

Asshole.

He'd been so fucking pissed.

When they reach the ship, Carlos taps him on the shoulder, "I want to open it."

He chuckles as he releases Carlos to slide down his back, "Go for it." He watches Carlos's excitement with a grin. "Ya know, there aren't really any regulations for this," He pats his ship affectionately, "Or laws. So, whenever you want to take her for a spin-" His eyes light up mischievously, "Or after you figure it out, a joy ride. Feel free."

Carlos's eye widen comically, "What?"

"What?" He asks with a raised brow.

"You'll let me learn to-?" Carlos blinks and shakes his head, "Wait, no. You're okay with joy rides?"

"Fuck yeah, what type of dad would I be if I didn't and wasn't?"

"A fucking sane one?" Mal huffs, hip jutted to her side as she crosses her arms.

A devilish smirk pulls at his lips as he looks the group over.

LoLz.

Funny little Malgon.

"Mal... shhhh..." Carlos whines as he opens the panels and types in his access code, "Let him encourage me."

"Yeah Malgon," His smirk widens, "Kid needs some encouragement, so let me encourage him." He drops his hand to Carlos's head.

"It's your ship." Jay shrugs, "I mean, he drove the hell mobile well enough."

"See, Beta agrees with me." He sticks his tongue out.

"Ugh, what are you, five?" Mal rolls her eyes before her eyes settle on Carlos for a moment before she moves her glare to him. "He gets so much as a scratch, I kill you." She huffs as she walks past him.

"You seriously have no idea how many safety features Lilo has pointed out to me, so stop plotting his demise." Carlos huffs as he follows after Mal.

"A scratch Hiro." She yells, not looking back as she throws up her middle finger.

Ben covers his smile as Evie giggles before stopping dead.

"Seriously, a scratch." She states icily before she skips up the ramp.

He blinks before he turns to Jay, "Yeah," He rubs his head. "I get why you opted for Beta."

"Wait until you meet Uma." Jay rolls his eyes.

"They get worse!?"

"I'd say similar intense, different ways."

He rubs the back of his head, "Greeeeeaaaat."

Ben claps his back, "No worries, it's T you have to worry about if Carlos gets hurt."

"And Deez," Jay grins, "She catches on fire."

"True," Ben smiles, "but hates doing it."

"So, actually, you should worry about Gil."

Kami, he couldn't wait to meet that group.

He rubs his hands together excitedly, "Excellent."

The more people stepping up to protect his Chibi-chan, the better.

Jay and Ben share a look.

"Okay," Ben claps his hands together, "Officially on the worried train." He eyes him over warily, though he doesn't miss the mirth in his eyes.

"No worries, there's plenty of room." Jay pats Ben's back as he glares at him, the minute smile nulling the threat.

"What?" He blinks innocently.

"Not a thing, Uncle." Jay chuckles as he guides Ben up the ramp, "You flying us to the docks or what?"

"Waitin' on the Prince," He bows with a flourish, "And Beta, of course." He grins.

This one was super fun to write. It definitely had its ups and downs. Sad and funny. It was pretty much the perfect mesh of my and Dark's styles. I'm pretty damn proud of it. *Are you Dark?*

(Duh. -Dark)

Love how there was no reaction to Ben and Mal sleeping in the same room? Outta all the adults Hiro and Lilo would definitely give the least amount of fucks.

Speaking of, Carlos's confusion when he asks how often the two sleep together= fucking priceless.

Poor C really hates guns. Too much. Too loud.

Dark loves that the kid's all gang up on Hiro in this one, which thoroughly agree, by the way. Hiro needs some ganging up on.

He's about as immature as they come.

Love it.

Love him.

LoLz Roy dragging Jane to play CoD by the way. And yes, I know we mainly focus on CoD, but it'd be a pain in the ass to come up with more games, and Roy just seemed like an FPS (First-person shooter) type of guy.

Jane does play CoD better than Mal, by the way, if anyone was curious. It makes Mal kinda nauseous in the motion sickness type of way- Seriously any of you ever play Call of Duty? It's so hard to keep your PC (player character) from going in circles.

Those metaphors about eating between Hiro and Jay were life. It was super fun to go back and forth on that one. Did you guys enjoy it?

And at the end, Hiro's concern that the rest of the group was going to get worse? Who do you guys think is the scariest?

Uma

Mal

Evie

Lonnie

Jane

Deez or

Faustina

Please feel free to do it least to worst.

Super excited to see that one!

Oh, and outta the guys! Least to scariest? Go!

Roy

Ben

Doug

Jay

Carlos

Harry

Gil or

T
