Getting to meet Farah took significantly longer than it did to meet Aliana. Irene was not having an easy time after giving birth, and Ronin was extremely stressed, which was, of course, understandable. Luckily Lark and Lloyd would get to visit Farah tomorrow, or today they should say since it was currently four am.
Lark groaned in discomfort as she once again shifted in their bed. Lloyd sleepily raised his head to look at his girlfriend. "What's wrong?" He rasped.
Lark sighed and immediately ceased all movements. "Nothing is wrong, go to sleep."
"That's a lie." Lloyd responded pointedly. His hand gently brushed Lark's hair out of her face. "What's wrong?"
Lark felt awful. She woke up her very tired boyfriend, and now he wouldn't fall sleep until she spoke to him. "I just can't get comfortable, I think I'm coming down with something." Lark smiled sheepishly. "Just a few stomach pains though, nothing to worry about."
Lloyd frowned slightly and watched Lark cling onto his body. "Are you sure?" He asked pressing his face against the side of her neck.
"Yes, Lloyd, I'm sure." Lark smiled weakly. "A bit of discomfort never killed anyone. I'll be okay, really." She tried to reassure him.
It didn't work.
If anything it made him more worried. His hand trailed down her body, before stopping on her stomach. He began to rub it, to which she absolutely melted into, she could feel herself dosing off right then and there and soon, she was asleep, Lloyd following shortly after.
When Lark woke up, Lloyd wasn't in bed which was okay, considering that the two of them she got up and stretched, grunting in pain a bit. Lark loved stomach bugs. They were just the funnest thing ever. But nothing some Gravel couldn't solve so she rubbed her eyes and grabbed her hair brush, brushing her hair and staring out the window as she did so.
Lark quickly threw on her clothes and brushed her teeth, leaving to head down to the living room.
She looked at Stone who waved at her cheerfully and went back to reading a book. She smiled at him and heading into the kitchen, stopping in front of the oven and opening the cupboard ro pull down some Gravel. She sighed before turning to another cupboard to bring down a glass so she could fill it with tap water. She chugged her water after taking the medication and turned around to jumped in surprise to see Wu and Misako at the kitchen table... just staring at her. "This is my own medication I paid for? If that's the issue." Lark squinted her eyes at the two as she spoke. "I'm not committing a war crime, am I?"
"No, of course not." Misako spoke quietly, looking away. "I just... wanted wanted apologize to you for the cruelty of my words. Lloyd was right. It isn't your fault I failed him."
"Staring at someone isn't a really good way to apologize." Lark shrugged, raising an eyebrow. "I guess I'll accept it though, but try not to take your anger out on me. I don't know what family drama is happening and I don't really want to be involved." Lark sighed. "Just... keep it between you three. I have other issues to take care of." Lark looked at the clock hanging on the wall and immediately shouted out. "Oh shit I'm going to be late."
With that she quickly ran outside outside grabbed Kai's attention from where he and Cole were training. "Can one of you guys give me a ride to my shop? Please I overslept, and I don't want to be late." Cole and Kai exchanged a look and Cole said. "Sure. I don't see why not." He smiled. "We'll finish this later?" He turned to Kai who nodded. "Sure, I'll go visit Aliana and Nya. Give me a call when you're back!" Kai told Cole before heading off to go inside, probably to fetch a present for his neice.
Without much else exchanged, Cole summoned his dragon and flew down to Ninjago City where her shop was. Once they landed, Lark thanked him profusely, to which he just waved off with a chuckle and said. "It wasn't a big deal, plus Lloyd would kill me if I didn't." He laughed. "Have a good shift Lark, give me a call if you need a ride home."
"Will do! Thank you Cole!" She called out and waved as he summoned his dragon once more to fly back home. She smiled softly as she watched him fly away. She turned to her shop and entered it, quickly clocking in with a sigh of relief when it showed she was just in time.
"Hey, Lark. What's up?" Misty's voice from behind her scared the living daylights out of her.
"Oh my First Spinjitzu Master!" Lark exclaimed, spinning around to face Misty. "You startled me!"
"I noticed." Misty snorted in amusement. "You're usually a lot earlier than this, is everything okay?" Misty asked her.
"Yeah, I just overslept." Lark sighed rubbing her eyes. "Cole gave me a ride, thankfully. I'll have to repay him somehow. He and Kai were training when I asked."
"That was sweet of him. Honestly if I found out he didn't I would of killed him." Misty smiled warmly.
Lark tilted her head. "Huh. He said the same thing about Lloyd." She giggled.
"I'd beat Lloyd to the punch." Misty smugly answered, winking at Lark as she said so. "Im sure a little water could him down."
"I'm sure a green ball of energy could slow you down too." Lark laughed.
Misty closed her eyes and waved her hand back and forth. "Details, details."
Lark walked to the back of the counter and pulled out their order book and asked. "How many do we have to do today?"
"I did three already." Misty replied, slipping into 'business' mode. "There is about eleven more to do though, they're all later pickups so we have time. I made sure to get the early ones done."
"Thank you! You're the best!" Lark smiled as she flipped through the book, landing on Wednesday and pulling out all the sheets of paper for today. "Luckily these don't look too big." She said as she looked through the pages but then let out an annoyed sigh on the seventh page. "Nevermind." She scoffed. "Statement retracted. This is a huge order."
"Tomorrow we have a wedding order too." Misty pointed out grabbing the book and pulling out the paper.
"Are you kidding me." Lark asked. She heaved out a heavy sigh. "Fun. Thank goodness Stone and Lloyd are also booked tomorrow. We'll definitely need their help."
"I know Stone is scheduled to work today in about an hour. He's closing." Misty said to Lark. "So we'll have some extra help today too."
"Perfect. Let's get started." Lark smiled, clapping her hands together once she put the papers down. "I'll tackle this large one right away. The sooner it's done, the better." Lark hummed out, Misty nodding in agreement. "I'll take care of the ones for next pickup." With that communicated the two separated to go get what they needed, Lark setting up her station near the front to watch for customers and to help them if needed while Misty went to the back to be able to completely focus on her work.
The two of them worked hard and managed to complete five orders, one bring the large one, before Stone arrived. Stone being the adorable guy he was immediately took over customers and they all followed him about as he explain different flowers and different things about them, letting them know what would best fit their wants. Stone was just a natural despite his... rather unusual appearance considering the tail and the ears, but people in Ninjago have seen worst and werewolves haven't harmed them yet so there was no reason to fear the oversized puppy.
Eventually after much hard work, the girls finally finished off the rest of the orders and even made an extra special order just for Irene, one that Stone was convinced she would love.
Misty stayed the extra hour to get off at the same time as Lark and they both questioned Stone. "Are you going to come meet Ferah?" Misty asked.
Stone's ear lowered immediately and his tail hung low. "I can't. Irene spoke to the doctors and they're worried about my fur."
Misty and Lark couldn't help the sadness forcing it's way into their hearts as they gave Stone a hug.
"They said in about a couple of weeks, when her breathing improves." Stone added. "I better see lots of pictures though." He forced a smile and wagged his tail.
"We promise." Misty and Lark laughed, both of them pulling our their pinkies. Stone grinned and all three of them did an awkward pinky promise.
After bidding their goodbyes, they waited as Cole came to pick them up, all of them heading up to the Yin tower, the three of them excitedly entering, but very quietly at the same time.
Before they could get to the living room Lloyd joined up with them, hugging Lark before all four of them headed in to see Irene looking overjoyed to see them all. Her eyes were tired but the smile she wore showed how happy she was and in her arms was a small bundle. While they cooed over the baby, Lloyd and Misty took up to asking Irene how she was feeling.
"I'm just happy she's okay and that you guys all wanted to meet her." Irene smiled. "It was tough but worth it."
Misty looked at Ferah and looked back at Irene. "That's really good to hear." She smiled. "I'm really happy for you."
Lloyd nodded in agreement. "I am too, all of us are. I believe there is a box is sweets in the kitchen just for you." Lloyd smiled.
"Oh right!" Lark exclaimed as quietly as she could, standing up quietly to go get it.
Irene giggled and said. "It was necessary." She smiled.
"We know." Cole whispered. "But honestly you deserve it."
Misty nodded in agreement before quietly bringing up. "Could I take pictures for Stone to see her?"
Irene nodded. "Of course!" Bless Irene's soul.
It didn't take long for Lark to return. "Koda and Aliana are both sleeping in the kitchen for some odd reason. I asked Zane why and he told me they cried the minute he mentioned the bedroom so he just set up their chairs in the kitchen and gave them their pillows and blankets. It was pretty cute, but strange." She added with a small laugh.
She held the box out to Irene who took it carefully and gave a small "thank you."
"After some not so careful consideration." Cole said slowly rising to his feet. "I'm decided Ferah is the cutest baby."
Irene blushed a bit and laughed. "Thank you. I think I'm going to agree with you."
"I think, out of not wanting to get beat up by Nya, Jay, Pixal, or Zane... or Irene... and Ronin... that they're all equally cute." Lloyd nervous laughed out.
"Coward." Misty giggled out. "I think Ferah is the cutest too!"
"I'm on Team Coward." Lark also laughter. "Better safe than dead."
