Hey Descendants,

This week has been a major struggle. I lost my fur baby Monday night and it has hit me so hard.

So, I dedicate this chapter to Gnosis, my beautiful derpy cat of 8 years.

She was this adorable little black cat that got stupid excited every time she saw me and loved to sit in my lap while Twisted and I wrote.

She fetched all kinds of things and proudly dragged them to me before vocally demanding pets. Everything from cat toys to pens. It was always hilarious when she dragged things bigger than her.

She was also fiercely protective of all the little humans in the house and loved to snuggle them.

I am going to miss her so much.

Anyway, if you're still reading this, thank you for letting me tell you about her.

Lots of Love!

-Dark-

He was still having a hard time letting Hiro and Lilo out of his sight.

It felt selfish.

He was worried about the Isle.

About his friends.

He couldn't stop thinking about them, wondering how they were eating or what they were doing.

The worry never stopped.

But when Hiro told him he deserved better, tried to send him away-

He wasn't even sure how to describe what happened.

It was like-

Desperation?

Panic?

Survival?

Whatever it was, he knew one thing at that moment.

He needed Hiro and Lilo.

He needed his pack too, but Hiro and Lilo were-

What he always dreamed about on the Isle.

At least, something he dreamed about after he and Deez started visiting Yensid.

Borrowing books.

Borrowing books with stories in them.

Books with stories about families.

Families with moms and dads.

Parents.

Parents that didn't hurt their kids.

When he'd first met Hiro, he'd been star struck.

Hadn't known what to say to the genius of the century. The man, well, on the Isle, he'd believed that Hiro was still a kid, but still, the man who invented. Who was the youngest to graduate from San Fransokyo Tech.

Who built robots.

His inspiration.

Who he wanted to be just like.

And the man thought he was special.

Him.

His vision blurs as he looks over at Jay.

He wasn't sure what an Ohana meeting was, but he was happy to be included.

He finds himself holding his breath at the tightness in Jay's lips.

The set of his jaw.

The way he was walking.

Jay was not okay.

Better than yesterday, but not okay.

Last night, David had texted that Jay was staying with him and Nani, which he understood after seeing him now.

His hands were heavily bandaged, which was honestly unsurprising.

After the fifth pole, he'd seen red smears.

He bites his lip.

Despite how bad his hands had to be feeling, though, he still had them half balled into fists.

Stressed.

Tense.

Worried

He races ahead to knock on the door, but Jay doesn't wait before he turns the handle.

He winces but follows him into David's office.

"Iki Brahs," David greets with a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes.

"Chibi-Chan!" Lilo grins brightly as she bounces to her feet and runs over to him, her arms wrapping around him tightly before she looks over his shoulder, "Jay," She bites her lip as her eyes swim with concern.

Hiro chuckles as he drops a hand in his hair. "S'up." He grins.

They were still here.

They hadn't left.

He lets out a sigh of relief as he hugs Lilo back, burying his face against her shoulder to hide his burning eyes.

"Chibi-chan," She whispers as she hugs him tighter, "Sorry, your dad is just a hottoheddodikkuheddo."

He can't help his snort.

When Lilo said something, he had a hard time not believing her.

She just said everything with so much confidence.

"What's that mean?" He asks as he pulls back enough to look up at her.

"Hot-headed dick head." She nods curtly.

He presses his lips together tightly and bites down to contain his laugh.

"That's a way to put it." Cobra deadpans as Hiro flips him off.

"Bite me."

Nani smiles weakly, waving as she steps away from Jay with her other arm still snaked over his shoulder.

"It's okay. Yesterday was just-"

But he can't finish.

Yesterday had been too many things, and all of them were crowding his brain.

"-a barge full of bull shit." Hiro offers darkly.

"Yeah." He rubs the back of his head.

Jay presses his lips together before he sighs and looks away, "Sorry. For what I said."

"No big," Hiro waves him off, "Shocked ya didn't say worse."

David smiles as he rests a hand on Jay's shoulder, "Well, now that everyone's here," He squeezes before he walks over to the center of the room and plops. "I'm sittin'."

Nani snorts before she walks over and pulls herself up on the counter, taking Jay with her.

Cobra doesn't leave the wall he was leaning against.

He looks up at Lilo as she turns them to follow Hiro, who takes a seat on the couch.

He blinks in surprise when he's tugged down to the floor with Lilo and then tugged back to rest against Hiro's legs.

When he turns to look over his shoulder, he just sees Hiro smiling back at him.

He does his best to smile back before he turns around.

After a moment, everyone's attention slowly turns to Cobra without so much as a word from the man.

His eyes narrow, was Cobra the Alpha?

Cobra doesn't move so much as an inch, "Here's what we know-"

His eyes widen as his and Jay's phones go off, both with Mal's text notification.

A text that interrupts Cobra.

"Um-"

Cobra's eyebrow raises before Hiro claps his shoulder. "That's Malgon's, right?"

He nods slowly.

"She's reminding us that T was a paranoid fuck and loaded up the hideout and the ship with food and shit. Which, yeah, I forgot about that. And Deez knows about it, even if that little shit forgets."

He lets out a sigh of relief as his head falls back to Hiro's knees.

He had forgotten about that.

The weird cans stacked behind cabinets and thrown into the broken tub in the bathroom.

The bags of jerky.

He nods before he looks over at Cobra, "Silence the phones?" He asks as he does it.

He frowns, "Vibrate."

He clicks down on the volume one more time before he slips it back into his pocket.

"As I was saying, what we know is that the other children on the Isle have been without food for two months. That ten children are being brought back on the first barge out."

Ten?

As soon as the barges start up again, ten of the Isle kids would be saved?

How pissed had Ben been?

"That and apparently one of you was paranoid enough to prepare for the worst," He turns to Jay, "Rule seven."

Jay shrugs as he crosses his arms over his chest, "Rules on the Isle were different."

Cobra nods. "That being said," He turns to him, "This doesn't leave the room."

His brow furrows as he turns to look at Jay.

Doesn't leave the room?

But Mal and Evie weren't in the room.

But to his shock, Jay was already nodding.

He takes a deep breath before he turns to look up at Hiro.

"Listen to the scary man." He ruffles his hair as Lilo takes his hand and squeezes.

He frowns, but when he turns back to Cobra, he nods.

He didn't like it, but it was hard to argue when Jay and Hiro agreed.

"Excellent." Cobra looks around the room. "Though it does speak highly of Ben's stance and blunt anger towards the council that he was able to speed along the process. But, as we all agree, ten isn't good enough." He crosses his arms.

He stills when he feels Cobra's eyes on him. "We've already agreed they have until the end of the month to rectify the situation."

The end of the month?

How could anyone rectify the situation on the Isle that quickly?

They only had one more day of exams.

The last day of school was tomorrow, except for the career fair.

No school on Friday

And then the weekend.

That was it.

"But only because we have to plan this carefully." Nani interjects as she wraps an arm around Jay's shoulders, "And some of the things we need to make this work are hard to get a hold of."

"Correct." Cobra agrees as he pulls his eyes off of him. "Everyone here has been assigned a task, and I expect them to be completed by the end of the month." His eyes drop to David.

"I'm laid back, not lolo. I don't want those kids there either, brah." He holds up his hands.

"Wait." He blinks in confusion, "I- am I missing something?"

"You're with me, Chibi-chan," Hiro squeezes his shoulder. "Ready to play a simulation?"

He smiles as he looks back at Hiro.

Whatever he was doing, he was with Hiro?

And they were going to play a simulation?

"I can do that!" He agrees excitedly.

"This act will be considered treason, so if we do this too overtly, it will have dire consequences."

His head snaps back to Cobra.

Treason?

What the hell were they-

No.

They couldn't mean-

"Are, are we-" the hand Lilo wasn't holding grips his jacket over his chest.

"Fuck yeah we are." Hiro ruffles his hair again.

He squeezes Lilo's hand as he wraps his other arm around Hiro's leg and hugs tightly.

They were going to rescue their friends!

"All of them?" He asks, unable to contain himself as he looks around the room.

"Most of 'em." Jay volunteers.

"Most?"

"Fuck Atilla and Cora. Those fucking psychos would get our asses back on the Isle."

"Duh," He rolls his eyes, "I was thinking friends and like, Deez's tablets."

He smiles as he leans into Hiro's legs and pulls Lilo even closer.

They were going to get everyone they planned to eventually pull over.

At the end of the month.

Seven days!

"That is the goal of this mission." Cobra nods before his eyes fall back on him, "Our apologies for not bringing you in sooner-"

"Oh no, that's fine." He quickly shakes his head, "One week of secrets from Mal and Evie is scary enough."

"We're actually leaving tomorrow." Hiro claps his back. "Need your help on the new Isle since Jay's gonna be busy with his own shit."

"I don't have to do the rest of my exams?"

"Fucks I care? You'd ace them anyway." Hiro shrugs.

"So, if we don't get caught, nothing changes, right?" Jay asks after shooting a concerned look at him.

"Accurate." Cobra nods. "Which is why we have not acted."

"I still have to figure out how to get around the barrier, but no big." Hiro waves his hand dismissively, "Science is waaaaaaaaaaaaay better than magic."

Seriously?

They were getting their friends?

In like a week?

He didn't even really care how.

If this family said they were going to do it, he believed them.

His hug around Hiro's leg tightens.

"Thanks to Hiro, we have a private Isle to place them." Cobra continues. "Where they will be provided medical attention, proper provisions, an education, and have access to counseling albeit remotely. No one must act out of character after this mission has been completed. If any of them want to become Auradon citizens, when the summons is issued, we will have them come over accordingly by means of delivering them back to the Isle to be collected."

His brow furrows, "Why don't we just tell Ben?"

Cobra turns to him, "Plausible deniability."

"Oh. So, everyone knows he would want to do this, but no one wants him in trouble?"

"Right." Hiro's knees squeeze him. "S'why Malgon can't know either."

His eyes widen, "Like ever?"

Jay turns to him, "Ben said they'd have 'em all over in a year or less. She can wait 'til then to know. She's gonna be stupid busy working with Ben anyways. But with her bein' a potential princess and shit..."

"Cool… Cool cool cool-I'm not telling her. I don't even want to be in the room."

Jay snorts, "I gotcha, Pup."

He takes a deep breath before he lets it out slowly. "Good, her finding out about Book Club was bad enough."

"No worries. I'll take it. She'll be pissed at first," Jay rolls his eyes, "but when she calms down, she'll be fine."

Yeah, okay...

"So," He looks up at Hiro, "What're we doing?"

"Building a hotel with microbots." Hiro ruffles his hair.

His eyes widen as he twists to stare up at Hiro, "The thing you invented to get into the tech school in the first place? That you can control with your mind?"

"The one and only," He winks at him. "I already have some basic schematics, but gonna need your help with the rest."

He jumps to his feet only to throw himself into Hiro's side.

He was going to be helping the Isle kids and working with Hiro.

He couldn't wait to get started.

"I'll call this meeting adjourned." Cobra turns to Jay, "And I expect you to pass your exams."

"Like I'm worried about it." Jay shrugs.

Cobra nods before he turns to him, "And despite your miscreant of a father, I expect you to take them."

"I'm going to go see if I can take them now!" He smiles as he jumps up and runs for the door.

He only had three more.

The first two only took him about an hour each. And only because he couldn't help needing to recheck every answer twice.

Like really, couldn't help it.

He was going to have to talk to David about that later.

The English one took him longer, but it was his worst subject.

He had math, science, and history exams left.

Two of those would be easy.

All he needed was a teacher to watch him while he did the work.

"I'll text when I'm done." He calls over his shoulder as he opens the door, "Jay, can you ask Evie to pack me a bag?"

"I mean, I can try. But, worse case-"

The rest was cut off. "Thanks! Bye!" He shouts as he races down the hall.

Ohana meetings are the best meetings.

And look another cute chapter.

C is so fucking excited.

Are you?

Think Cobra's the Alpha of this Ohana?

One week.

One week til' the cluster fuck happens.

One week till everyone gets to reunite.

If there's anyone to reunite.

Not gonna lie, I'm a massive fan of Game of Thrones, and I may've talked Dark into… You know, George RR Martin-ing a few characters.

One more week.

Just one.

Super excited?

Super concerned?

Fave Quote:

His eyes narrow, was Cobra the Alpha?

Look Dark, I think that's like 3 for 3 of your quotes being my fave.

(3 out of 75 chapters… But, I'll take it. She's so much funnier than I am. My humor be dry. -Dark)

What was yours?

Much love and anticipation,
