Deeks noticed his wife had been more unhappy as of late. He wanted to do something to cheer her up.
He decided to take up juggling small rubber balls. One day, he decided to show off his skills in front of Kensi, and he not only was bad at it, but he almost fell over.
Kensi smirked. 'That's adorable.'
'Wait till you see what else I've got planned!' He said.
The next day, Deeks showed up wearing clown makeup. He began telling jokes when Kensi started laughing.
'Hey hey! Does you laughter mean this is working!' Deeks asked.
'No. I'm just thinking about what Sam will do if he sees you in that clown makeup.'
Knowing his big friend's fear of clowns, and not wanting to find out what he did to clowns if he met them, Deeks ran.
The next day, Deeks was determined to use final attempt to get Kensi to laugh.
In the gym
'What's this?' Kensi asked.
'Ah. Kensilina. I am going to attempt to beat Callen and Hetty at dodgeball!' Deeks said, proudly.
'2 against 1? Doesn't that seem kind of unfair?'
'In theory. But, here's a twist: Hetty doesn't have her glasses on. So in technical terms, it's me against Callen.'
'This should be good.' Kensi thought.
Deeks thought he had chance. Except 1 and a half minutes in, he found out the hard way that Hetty can still see without her glasses, it's just a bit blurry: by getting nailed in the stomach by a well thrown ball.
Deeks groaned and went down like a sack of flour.
Everyone started laughing.
'Maybe I should just stick to writing bad poetry.' Deeks thought, in pain.
That night, in the bullpen
'Hey listen, thanks for all your attempts to cheer me up, I really appreciate them.' Kensi said.
'You're welcome. (groan).' Deeks said.
'Still hurting?'
'That woman, has the most vicious aim I've ever seen!'
