Hetty's office
'What's wrong Nate?' Hetty asked.
'Sigh. This client's been keeping me up most of the night. Not sure how to help him.' Nate replied.
'Do tell.'
'He's a soldier who just came home from war, his family didn't seem to really miss him much, he has some signs of PTSD, and he said something in our last session that really rattled me. Can I say what it is?'
'Sure, I won't say anything.'
Nate whispered it in her ear.
'Oh! Oh, That is very serious.' Hetty said, stunned.
'I know! Like, he didn't really sound serious, but the mere mention of that topic rattles me! Like, why would he even consider it? Wouldn't his family miss him? Our next session is in 2 days, and if I can't figure out how to help him, I fear I may lose a client in a terrible way. What do I do?' Nate asked, sounding desperate.
'Well, first, drink this tea. It might help calm your nerves.'
2 minutes later
'Wow. That is really good tea.' Nate said.
'Do you feel better?' Hetty asked.
'A bit. But, not sure if it'll last long.'
'Well, lack of sleep tends to do things to your brain. Like make you anxious and moody.'
'Yeah, I know. Just been really anxious to figure out what to do.'
'Well, if you want my advice, calm down! You do your best thinking when you're not so stressed out. If you calm down long enough, you might find the answer you're looking for.' Hetty said.
'I'll try. Thanks Hetty.'
2 days later
'Well, how did it go?' Hetty asked.
'It, went well! I calmed down long enough, and got some actual sleep, and I figured out how to help the guy. He's getting some real help. And, I couldn't be more relieved!' Nate replied.
'I knew you could do it!'
'Thanks for believing in me.'
'It's what I do.' Hetty said.
