A threat against Callen had gotten so bad, he thought the best way to draw out the perp was to fake his death.

So, he made it look like he died in an explosion. The only person he told of his plan was Sam, and he told him not to tell anyone.

A week and a half had passed, everyone was still mourning Callen's supposed death, and the one taking it the hardest was Hetty.

Tired of seeing his wife so unhappy, Granger decided to find out once and for all if Sam knew more then what he was saying.

He followed him to a vacant looking house, saw Sam leave food outside it, and saw a figure that looked like Callen answer the door and pick up the food!

The next morning, Granger cornered Sam in the bullpen and made Sam talk.

'When were you going to say something?' Granger demanded.

'If something went wrong and he needed help. Look, this was his idea, and I'm respecting his wishes!' Sam replied.

'And what about what I and Hetty have been through?! She's so unhappy, nothing I do can cheer her up for long! That man is like a son to her and he's your partner!'

'Look, I'm sorry this is how things have gone. But we're close to sniffing out the person who wants Callen dead, and once we've eliminated the threat, then he can come home.'

'I want in. And I'm telling Hetty whether you like it or not.' Granger replied.

Later on, Granger told Hetty that Callen was alive, and that he was going to bring him home. And he laso told her to go easy on Sam.

True to his word, the next day, the threat was eliminated, and Callen was able to come home.

Hetty greeted him with a big hug and a kiss.

'I'd scream my face off at you right now for scaring me this past week, but I'm just so happy to see you!' Hetty said relieved.

'It was the only thing I could think of, and I had to make it look like you all thought I was dead.' Callen replied.

'Well, I want to spend the night with you, Just let me thank my husband first!'

Then she went over to Granger to give him a hug.

'I love you so much right now!' She said.

'And I love you as well. Go be with him!' Granger replied.

That night was one of the best nights of Hetty's life.
