Set somewhere in season nine, but Harm and Mac are married and Mac is about seven month pregnant with their first child.

It was a cold ad snowy day in the middle of December. The streets were congested with cars barely moving in the thick snow layer that hadn't been removed yet. The Admiral had given them the afternoon off at it would be impossible to get home once the snowing started again in the late afternoon. Mac was looking out of the window while Harm did his best to control the car on the icy streets. Letting out a deep sigh, Mac faced Harm and asked

"Do you know the only good thing about being pregnant in the middle of winter?" "No, but I am sure you will fill me in".

"In of the baby books says that being pregnant in summer is killing you, the sweating is supposed to be unbearable." Harm turned into the parking-lot in front of their apartment and gave her a cocky smile "Does this mean our beach activities were timed perfectly?" Mac slapped him on his arm and blushed slightly, the memories of that vacation, their honeymoon, were still pretty clear in her head.

She looked out of the car window and gently stroked her rounded belly, while Harm was getting out of the car and around to her. Two years ago, Sarah Mac Kenzie had never thought about waiting until a man opened the car door for her, but since she was pregnant they fell into that habit for no particular reason. He opened her door and helped her out of the car, searching for her lips as soon as she stood. They shared a passionate kiss until Harm felt something kicking his stomach. He looked into Mac's eyes and down on her belly, wondering in awe what their child might look like.

When they entered the building and once again saw the red sign 'out of service' on the elevator doors Mac's heart sank.

"Not again" she sighed, "I really need to get out of these shoes soon."

Harm looked at her, smiling slightly "You know I could carry you."

"Get that damn smile off your face. I am very capable of climbing these stairs, I'm just not in the mood for exercise right now" Mac countered harsher than she intended.

'Ouch, hormone alarm' Harm thought, "Then lets just get over with it, the hot tub is waiting for you."

Mac knew that Harm hadn't intended to make fun of her in any way, but she was way too uncomfortable for jokes right now. Sighing she started going up the stairs. While Harm searched for his keys after they had reached the apartment doors, Mac tried to cool down. Half a year ago she would have never expected how exhausting a few stairs could be.
