THE LUXIO AND THE LUXRAY

Present

Charga remembered the first time she met Recharge as a Shinx, it was on her trainers birthday. She had been defending her fellow Shinx when in the process of the fight a ball had hit her on the head. Charga was really upset at the time with the human female for having been ripped away from her family and friends in the wild. Charga had isolated herself away from the other caught Shinx's and Pokémon at the time. It was when she was approached by Recharge on that day that it seem to turn...for the better.

Past

Charga...that was the name she was 'gifted' by her new master. The shinx didn't like it...

She shivered as the temperatures dropped in the last couple of hours. She sat off to the far left away from the group currently surrounding a bonfire that kept them warm.

"Being upset for this long isn't going to help you Kit." Recharge stated as he came up beside her. The shinx blushed and jerked her head to the left in an attempt to ignore him. Recharge chuckled and procced trying to get the young shinx to join the group near the heat of the fire.

"If your Master hadn't caught me in the first place I wouldn't be." The shinx growled, fur standing on end as she shook from.

"My 'Master' only catches Pokémon that are loners more than pack oriented, if anything you where caught by accident. Overtime you will move on and come to one day call us your family and friends." Recharge whispered in a calm tone.

"She could just release me!" Shinx nearly shouted.

"It is not that easy. My trainer's human law's prevent her from doing so. It is why you haven't been released, she also feel's responsible for you now." Recharge's confessed as he turned to leave the disgruntled shinx to her own thoughts.

"Is that why she kept you because of your eye?" The shinx snorted, knowing the massive scar surrounding his right, now blind, eye and face was a sensitive subject. Recharge paused and looked back, half turned, to regard her. It made the shinx's feel smaller then she already was.

"That was due to my own foolishness." Was his answer. Recharge proceeded to walk over and sit next to his trainer and fellow team mates by the campfire. Charga stubbornly followed soon after. The respect for Recharge grew just a little bit that day.

Present

Charga laughed at the memory. She tried to admit at the time she said she hated the name but in truth. She liked it. It was her bullheadedness' and hatred that prevented her from admitting the truth in the past. And it was the recklessness on her part that upset Recharge that day. Charga frowned at the though.

The breeze picked up and she caught that familiar scent. That scent sent her mind to another distant memory.

Past

A year later she had gotten over being caught and came to call those around her friends and family. It was also around the time she fell in love with Recharge and evolved into a Luxio. Charga had felt stupid for getting separated from her trainer over an argument with Luxray's friend Born, the Empoleon. She couldn't even remember what it was about anymore as she was running through the forest in anger. She managed to trip on uneven feet and went tumbled down a hill, crashing right into a Growlithe. Charga could still see the surprised look in his eyes as her body crashed into his, no sooner afterwards did she see anger. Growlithe sent a Ember her way and she a spark. It was useless as she felt the heat on her face to her feet. Growlithe tackled Charga flew back soon after. Charga slammed into a tree making her yelp in pain, then, falling to the ground with a thud. She hissed as she Charged. Growlithe howled the proceeded to run at her with a tackle. She dodged him prior to sending a spark his way. Growling Growlithe turned around and delivering her a Bite to the neck. Charga cried out as he swung her across the field. She slid across the ground scrapes littering her side. Getting back up she released a roar. A weird sensation overtook her along with a familiar blue to near white light. She was Evolving!

"Luxio." Charga howled out, sending a spark Growlithe's way. Growlithe dodged it countering it with an ember. Charga hunched her back as the ember left a burn on her left shoulder, causing her to flinch. Growlithe sprinted at her with top speed.

A charge of electricity engulf it's body leaving it' paralyzed. Growlithe fell with a thump as it hit the ground. Recharge went to her side and looked at her injuries. A poke ball flew through the air and tapped Growlithe on the head before encasing him inside. It shook once before pinging closed. He had been caught. Charga growled in outrage.

"Why did she catch him!" She barked out. Recharge face softened as he stared at her.

"This Growlithe has been the cause of a serious problems for this town, she did him a kindness." He calmly replied as he licked her burn mark near her neck. Charga blushed. She should have known her trainer wanted to help not only the town but mostly Growlithe.

Present

Charga face heated at the memory of his lick across her burn. The scar from that day faded, although, it never went away.

She was currently resting on top of a massive bolder. Her yellow eye's scanning the field that resided beyond the backyard of the her trainers home. They had settled down form a long journeys rest. frowning again as she spotted Recharge walking along side another Luxray named Thundra. She was a new addition and had already fully evolved during her time spent in the wild. Thundra had fully adapted to life with the team and held no animosity towards her new trainer. Charga felt jealousy whenever she spotted the luxray. Thundra took task's on with confidence compared to her.

The stone, that prevented her evolution, was nestled between her paws. Charga had always debated on simply tossing it away. The desire to evolve tempted her within the last couple of months. Charga never gave into the temptation because she would be doing it for the wrong reason's. It would have been for Recharge and not for herself. It's the sole reason the stone still stayed with her. Heaving a sign, Charga managed to slip the stone back into her bandana pocket on her neck. She didn't believe she would ever feel the need to evolve again.

A shadow casting over her form caught her by surprise. Recharge and Thundra stood in front of her. The stare they gave her always intimidated her, each for separate things. Charga lowered her head in reluctant submission.

"Recharge like's you." Thundra exclaimed with a smile, teeth flashing. Recharge's eye's went wide and he jerked his head to stare at the smaller Luxray. The male Luxray's mane seem to grow two more inches' and his tail stood straight up. Spark's of electricity flickered throughout his fur. He had confided in the female about his predicament, only for it to be thrown out in full display.

"I like him too." Charga said opened mouth, stunned at Recharge's appearance. She never seem him that bothered, unless it was in the heat of a battle. Her words calmed his expression somewhat and she blushed in embarrassment.

Charga narrowed her eye's, not in anger, but in confusion as the older female laughed.

"Not like that!" Thundra blurted between laugh's at the clueless female.

To be young and in love again.

Thundra reminisced, as she recalled the day's that have long since passed.

Recharge growled and glared as Thundra trotted away from the clueless couple.

Charga's eye's went wide with some understanding and the fur on the back of her neck rose with goosebumps. Both Recharge's and Charga's yellow eye's locked together. Recharge sighed, walking around Charga from the left to to fall and lay beside her. His head turned in the opposite direction. Charga's face heated even more as the electricity in the air went up a notch as his fur grazed hers. Charga's head turned away slightly, afraid.

"Is it true?" Charga had whispered, heartbeat fluttering as she awaited his answer.

"Yes." Was his answer. Recharge looked her way then, completely relaxed.

"When?" She asked, needing to know the answer. Charga fiddled with her paw's, a nervous habit she developed as a young shinx. Recharge place his paw above her. She stared at it really for the first time and noticed how larger it was compared to hers.

"It's when you nearly died that day." It came out as a hiss, not particularly fond of the memory.

Ah! She remembered that day...

Past

She did it again. Charga ran off like a coward again in anger after getting in a fight with Born again. This time, Charga remembered why she was angry. The Empoleon had accused her of being inconsiderate of those around her. When Charga tried to integrate herself with the group. She admitted to herself that she was still isolating herself. It was harder then she though it was to involve herself around other's. Recharge had tried to stop her that day but she had managed to loose him in the the forest area they had set up camp at.

A Drapion had found her invading it's territory in the marsh. It was near impossible to escape the raging Pokémon with the heavy rain making the ground soft and muddy. Charga's paw's kept getting stuck and was hard to pull out as it sunk into the mud. The field rendered her thunder wave ineffective as Charga tried to paralyze it. It's pincher, in a slashing motion, slammed into her from just below the neck. It had hurt and left a bruise. The impact sent her rolling as it knocked her off her feet. Charga's teeth rattled and her head ached.

She sent out a Discharge in the surrounding area as one finale attack.

It was still ineffective

The mud had covered every inch of Charga's body. The Drapion had danced around the thick mud with ease, having an advantage over the terrain. She struggled in the thick mucky water. A poison jab sent Charga flying out of the thick mud, sailing across the field. She collided into a tree, that splintered and scrapped her back. She started choking on her own spit as the Pokémon towered above her. Charga could already feel it's poison numbing her body. She licked her lips feeling the oncoming signs of nausea hit. Drapion lifted it's pincher once more to deliver a finale poison sting.

A metal tail rammed into it's side forcing the Drapion to stagger backwards.

The impact left the Pokémon dazed from the assault. It went to retaliate with a screech.

A barrage of mud slapped into it, causing the Drapion to nearly fainted from the attack.

Recharge positioned himself over Charga while Born took the front. The eletricity Their trainer sprinted to where they where at. She felt Recharge being pushed from above her. He reluctantly moved.

Born lifted his pectoral fin in warning. Ready to finish the Pokémon off in one final attack.

Drapion cried out in a finale warning, linking back into the darkness of the marsh. No doubt to mend it's wounds.

They're was a flash of light as Born vanished. Their trainer tried to return Recharge, who refused to be put back into this ball. To concerned for Charga and fearing the Drapion would return.

Charga struggled to stand as she felt a pair of hand's lift her up in the air. She closed her eye's, coming close to fainting from the the effects of the poison. She whimpered as her body jostled with each step her trainer took. Feeling sicker the further her trainer ran.

"Hold on Charga!" Recharge roared at her running alongside their panicked trainer who carried her to the nearest Pokémon Center.

Present

Thinking about it now, her and Born did butt heads more often. Recharge may have been the underlying reason for that. Now that she thought about it. She owed both of them an apology. She'll have to catch born on a later date though.

"I'm sorry, I was foolish that day." Charga admitted, watching as that same paw lifted from hers. Recharge wrapped his front leg around her shoulder and pulled her close to him. The electricity that was already sparking through the air intensified.

"Never go off on your own again..." Recharge voice was somewhat harsh, no anger directed at her. She looked at him then and smiled slightly.

"I can't promise that." Charga dismissed with a up-turn of the face. Recharge's eye twitched in irritation and he pulled her that much closer to him. Charga leaned into him, closing her eye's. Her head rubbed against his chest.

"Then I'll have to make sure you stay within my sights from now on." Recharge chuckled at her insubordination. Charga nodded her head in agreement. Her tongue flicked out across his cheek in a kiss. Recharge, blushing for the first time in front of her, returned that kiss with his own.

They stayed on that bolder together talking and watching other Pokémon frolic in the field of tall grass until dawn. Once night came they where the last to return home. A surprise gift was left for their trainer 3 months later.

I had this story just sitting on my computer so I decide to finish it up and post it since it's been a while. Sorry for any mistakes, Kept going back and fixing what I messed up on. I will be writing more one-shots in the future.
