During lunch at the school cafeteria, Billy drums his fingers on the table beside his lunch-filled tray as he could not take his eyes off Chinah, his crush, who is sitting at a table in front of his table with her friends Jackie and Claudette. She is chatting with them and giggling. In his eyes, Chinah's orange ponytail waves around as it sparkles with beauty.

"Oh Chinah," says Billy, "has anyone ever told you you have beautiful hair?"

The girls hear Billy and turn around to face him, giving him weird glares. Realizing he said his compliment too loud, he immediately grabs his sandwich. "I mean!" He takes a bite of it. "Mmm! This school got some good peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!"

The girls face each other and shrug before they resume their conversation. Billy swallows his bite and sighs in relief.

"Mind if we sit here?" said a female voice. It is Cricket.

"Uh, sure."

Cricket and Lola take a seat next to Billy and place their lunch trays down.

"You must be the new kid. Billy, right?" asked Lola.

"Yes."

"I could not help but notice that you seem to never take your eyes off of Chinah," comments Cricket. "Do you have a crush on her?"

"What?" Billy starts sweating profusely from the nervousness. "No way! I barely know her. Why would I fall in love with some random stranger?" He laughs uncomfortably.

"You don't have to deny it. It's obvious," says Lola.

Billy sighs in defeat. "Fine. I like her, but I'm too scared to talk to her. Plus, from what I've heard, she comes from a wealthy family who were descendants of German immigrants during the first wave of European immigration of the early 1800s. She holds the record for the most titles won before age seven, and she's even a young model who plays a harp! A harp I tell you!"

"How'd you know that?" Cricket asked curiously.

"I might've… umm… spied on her and her friends." Billy giggled nervously. "Anyway, because she is rich, she's probably more into fancy rich guys than guys like me. I want to win her heart, but I don't have anything impressive compared to what she has." He sighs in defeat. "Guess I'll have to let this crush go."

As Billy packs his lunch and is about to stand up, Cricket suddenly stops him. "Wait! I know how we can help."

"You do?!" Billy suddenly brightens up.

"You're talking to Cricket van Doren, a pageant queen with a sophisticated background who won the title of Little Miss Ice Flow in Antarctica. I can help you win a sophisticated girlfriend."

"ALRIGHT!" Billy shouts in utter excitement. He shouted so loudly everybody in the cafeteria heard him. They all face him with confused looks on their faces. Having embarrassed himself once more, he giggles nervously and resumes eating while Lola and Cricket pretend they never spoke to him.
