The next day at school, Billy exits the cafeteria kitchen carrying his lunch plate full of food and enters the cafeteria room. He is still sorrowful from the failure of his first date with Chinah last night and regretful of pretending to be a fancy rich gentleman to win her over. He tried to apologize to her twice in the morning and during recess, but she was unwilling to listen to him and would leave. She is still angry at him for lying to her, and, honestly, who can blame her? Billy looks around the room for Chinah, hoping she would finally give him a chance to listen to him. He will apologize for his actions, and he will make them up.

Soon, the Canadian boy finds her socializing with her friends Claudette and Jackie as usual. He approaches them. As he got closer, Jackie and Claudette noticed him and immediately stood up, blocking him.

"C'mon, ladies!" Billy pleaded. "Let me through!"

"No can do, jerk. You've caused enough damage already," says Jackie sternly.

"I just want to apologize."

"Even if you do that, she doesn't want to talk to you. Heck, she doesn't want to look at your face, so foutez le camp!" Claudette orders, pointing at the left.

"Lay off, ladies!" Lola suddenly comes over, carrying her lunch tray along with Cricket.

"Yeah. He just wants to apologize for what he'd done last night," adds Cricket.

"Sorry, ladies, but we just told him that Chinah won't hear it," replies Jackie.

"Alors il doit partir," adds Claudette.

"Voir. Je sais que Billy a fait mal, et Chinah a parfaitement le droit d'être en colère contre lui." Cricket clears her throat. "I mean, look. I know what Billy did was wrong, and Chinah has every right to be angry at him, but she can't be mad at him forever. She'll have to find it in her heart to forgive him somehow."

Jackie and Claudette look at each other and nod in agreement.

"Alright, fine," Jackie says to Billy. "You can talk to her."

"But do anything funny, et tu es mort!" Claudette warned him.

The girls then leave, leaving Billy on his own to ask Chinah for an apology. Billy takes a deep breath before looking at Chinah who then looks away, refusing to look at his face.

"Look, Chinah," he begins. "I know you are mad at me, and you have the right to be, but the reason why I pretended to be a sophisticated gentleman was because I thought you did not have a thing for guys like me. I'm not as rich as you, and I'm not as talented and successful as you. I am way out of your league, so I pretended to be within your league in order to win your heart, but as we both saw it failed. It's alright if you're not interested in me because of that, and it's also alright if you're mad at me and don't accept my apology."

Chinah did not move a single nerve, not even react to Billy's apology.

Billy sighs in disappointment. "Fair enough. I'll be going now." He turns around and starts walking. Before he can complete a foot's length, Chinah suddenly grabs his shoulder and shouts "Wait!" Billy turns back around to face her, his once dejected expression now replaced by a look of surprise.

"You…" Chinah begins, "could've told me before. I wouldn't mind."

"You wouldn't?" Billy asked, still surprised.

"Yeah. Sure I may be rich, and you're not, but I don't care about wealth or money. I could care less if that boy is a rich gentleman or not; heck, I would go as far as to not care about that person's gender! All I care about is that person treating me with kindness and respect."

Billy could feel his lips forming a small but warm smile.

"Sure," she adds, "you didn't show both, but an apology is enough for me to show you are capable of achieving kindness and respect, and I am willing to give you a second chance."

"You mean it?!" Excitement arose in Billy's voice.

Chinah nods. Then, to her surprise, Billy embraces her in a hug. "Thank you," he states. She returns the hug.

"So… what do you say? Wanna hang out after school?" He asks.

"I would love to!"

With a holding of each other's hands, they leave the cafeteria together. Lola, Cricket, Jackie, and Claudette watch them leave in awe.

"Well, guess those two did work things out after all," Jackie comments.
