Jade Octavia Wolfin, was walking down the streets of New York trying to out run the memory of her broken heart. She had lived at the Xavier school for gifted youngsters for five years. But then she met him, he had come to the school looking for answers, due to amnesia from an adamantium bullet to his head. She didn't take any of his bull crap when he went off on a tengent. After she had put him in his place He and Jade had gotten close. She thought they were more than friends , until she caught Him and Jean Grey making out in the garage . He heard her gasp behind him. He pulled away from Jean and looked at her " Jade, I uh..." she raised her hand to cut him off. " Just Don't . Spare me any lies that come out of your mouth. You knew how I felt , but you still chased after her when she is engaged to another man. And you! How dare you call your self my friend and a role model to the other girls when you've gone and done this!! I'm done, I want no part of this drama when Scott finds out about you two." Jade stormed out , taking the stairs two at a time to get room. She quickly threw her meager belongings into a duffel bag. A knock on the door stops her for a moment. " Jade suger? It's me Rogue." Jade ignored her and finishes picking her things. The door opens and Jade locks eyes with Rogue. " You running again?" Jade raises an eyebrow at the question. "Nope, if I was running I would've left without giving you me cell number. " Jade hands Rogue a piece of paper " Do not under any circumstances give this number to anyone." Rogue gulps " I Won't." Jade stares at her for a moment and nods her head . " walk me out? Professor is downstairs waiting to say goodbye." They make their way downstairs to see Storm , Scott , Beast, along side the professor. Jade looked at her friends, her family and knew this was the right thing to do. " Jade are you sure this is wise? Asked Xavier. She places a hand on his shoulder " you know this is the only way. I have to leave . I can't watch him chase after her every day. I have to much respect for myself to wallow in self pity. I strong and I will get over this.Just know if you need me I'll come running ." " I shall hold you to that my dear." I lean down and hug him"thank you Charles ...for everything." He embraces me for a quick hug . He pulls back and clears his throat. " Take care of your self, Jade." I smile at him and move on to Storm. " My friend I Don't understand the circumstances to the abrupt departure but I wish you well and much happiness. " she places a kiss upon my forehead and says " May you find whatever your looking for ." I smile at her as I Move to my best Friend " Hank, take care of yourself. And don't be sneaking anymore Twinkie's after midnight. " his blue fur on his face turns purple in embarrassment " You were the only one who could get me away from the lab when I over did anything. Whatever am I going. To do without you?" I shrug " I'm sure your wife will take very good care of you." Storm chuckles and leans into Hank . " I will do my best. " she turns to Scott and sighs " Your really leaving?" I nod at him " why ? Have any of us done something wrong? " you freeze at his question. " who is it Jade? Who could have hurt you this badly to leave your home?" With tear filled eyes I locked eyes with him and waited till it finally clicked. " she's cheating on me ...isn't she? With him." I look away quickly and whisper" be glad you know now before you actually married her Scott. You deserve someone that will love you unconditionally." He sighs and walks away. You watch him walk until he disappears around a corner. " he'll be alright Jade. Time heals all wounds. Even broken hearts." You look at Hank and say " it may heal Hank but, there will always be a scar." I bend down and grab my bag and head out side towards my Kawasaki ninja 400. I strap my bag down, grab my helmet and place it on. Climb on and look around one last time. " Goodbye, Jade." I smile at Rogue " don't worry I'm only a phone call away if you need me." She smiles . "Jade? ." I freeze at the sound of my name coming from him. " what's going on?" He asks . I ignore him going to start my bike; he grabs my forearm hoping to stop me. I shake him off . " where are you going?" I growl at him. " I'm leaving Logan! I want nothing to do with you or her. I said I was done and I meant it! I don't want to be around you any more, I'm not your friend! ...I don't think I ever was. Hank I'll send you a message when I make it to my hotel." I start my bike and take off not looking back as he Screams my name. That was 3 years ago. I've kept in touch with Rogue , Hank and Storm. They've kept me up to date on the goings on at the mansion. After I left Scott confronted Jean and Logan, he broke off the engagement . Logan and Jean , openly flaunted their relationship until Professor asked them to leave due to the disruption of the relationship or to end it. Logan dumped Jean when the professor gave them that ultimatum . Jean being Jean crawled back to Scott but it was to late he had moved on from her lies and games. He is now happily married to a lovely young woman by the name of Rebecca. She can actually help Scott control his powers. He's come along way. Hank and Storm married last year, I was invited to the wedding but decided it wasn't the right time to return. Especially since I knew he was In the he wedding party. Storm knew that I was finally at a good place in my life. Do I regret distancing myself from my friends and family yes, but it was the right decision. I took myself out of the situation and didn't look back. A man steps into my path out of no where . I see a black sedan behind him. He has a kind face " Ms. Wolfin? My names Agent Phil Coulson I work for S.H.I.E.L.D. I need you to come with me. " I look around " ok Agent listen here this is how it's gonna go... " I take several steps towards him and invade his personal space. " you tell me why or you either Send Clint Barton or Natasha Romanoff to come fetch me cause there isn't anyway I'm getting into that government vehicle not with what I've been through in the past. I don't just trust someone who walks up to me on the street and says they're from some secret government branch. " he nods and speaks into a mic for a second and looks back at me " Ok completely understandable. I've got Barton and Romanoff enroute." I smirk at him " why didn't you just say that in the first place?" He shrugs " I guess I wanted to meet you myself." I shrug "understandable I am pretty awesome." He chuckles. We turn , at the sound of a Harley pulling up behind the sedan. Natasha and Clint climb off and walk towards us. I smile as they draw closer. " hey you two. This guy says I need to come to headquarters. Can you verify that?". Clint crosses his arms and smirks at Natasha. " so how long you been in New York Jade?" I roll my eyes. " you both know I've been here for a while so cut the chitchat and let's get going." Nat rolls her eyes at us, As she makes her way back to the Harley. " Love you too Widow!" I holler at her . She flips the bird at me and continues on her merry way. I turn to Coulson , " well I guess I'm riding with you." He shrugs as he climbs into the car. We follow Clint and Nat back to the compound. I haven't been here since the early days. I see a man flying around with what look like Metal bird wings . Huh? Who would have thought? " that's Falcon aka Sam Wilson. Brought in by The Captain a few years ago. He's been a great asset to the team." I roll my eyes . Why do I get the feeling he's a total suck up?" I'll introduce you to every one after the briefing." I nod my head in acknowledgement. " sounds good." As We pull up in front of the compound , I jump out looking around for any danger. I say bye to Clint and Natasha I take another look around and stop when I see a man with a metal arm watching from a third story window. I access the internet through my cybernetic link quickly Pulling up information about him
James Buchanan Barnes " Bucky " formerly known as the Winter Solider. Age: 106 years old. Goes by the White Wolf. Name given to him by the Wakandans. He is currently Captain America's second in command. He was captured by Hydra and experimented on, thus resulting in him being the second super solider in history. He was brain washed and made to be Hydras top assassin. Steven Rogers went against his teammates and fought for Barnes freedom. Huh interesting.
I notice that we had stopped and that Coulson was staring at me funny. " Sorry I spaced out you were saying?" He stares at me for a few minutes then continues into a conference room. " I said would you like some lunch ? I can have something ordered and brought to you." My mouth starts salivating at the thought of food. " I'll have the biggest steak you can order well done with a loaded sweet potato and some broccoli salad. And two slices of strawberry cheesecake. Extra strawberries. With a Large Dr.Pepper to drink. " he smiles at my order " alright Jade I'll get that put in to the chefs downstairs and it should be up by the end of the meeting. " I kiss his cheek in appreciation " You are the best thing about this place so far." He chuckles " Have a seat the others will be here shortly." I grab a seat, one that faces the door. I sit down and notice no one will see me until they take a seat across from me, due to the fact that I'm sitting Shadows. I know my eyes are glowing in the dark due to my other half so I pull out my sun glasses and put my hem on . I hear foot steps coming down the hallway along with arguing. " with all due respect Sir , we don't need another member added to the team." Says a good looking blonde man. He has to be pushing seven feet tall Fury stalks to chair at the head of the conference table. He briefly looks my way and subtly nods his head. " I disagree. We need fresh blood and I believe The Red Vixen would be an added asset. That's why I asked her here for this meeting to get a feel for you all. It's up to her to decide to sign on with you misfits." I watch as they all look around , looking right over me. All except the white Wolf . He locks eyes with me and he tenses . I cock my head to the side. He slowly sits across from me and stares me down. " well then where is she?" Asks the good Captain. I smile at Bucky and I see a slight twitch of his lips. Natasha speaks up " oh she's here don't you worry about that. She's just waiting to make her grand entrance." About that time the door bursts open and in comes my order I slowly stand and make my way through the shadows to the cart. " Nat's right . Jade isn't just your typical person. She's smart , agile, the fastest reflexes you've ever seen, and she had a cybernetic implant that allows her to download data. She can program and hack with the best of them. But that's not what makes her amazing. The amazing part is that... " I jump out of the shadows and tackle him to the floor " Now Barton, don't go spilling all my secrets. Then Where would the mystery be?" He groans " Jade , have you put on some weight since the last time we sparred? You weigh a ton!" I laugh and climb off of him. " Nah your just getting old." I turn to Fury and say " Long time now see Nick. How's the wife?" I stroll over to him and he pulls me into a hug. " still wanting to know when you are going to come make Your famous chicken pot pie." I smile at him and shake my head " I've given her the recipe a hundred times what's wrong with hers that she isn't getting down pat?" He shrugs " she says it doesn't taste the same as yours . You know Lilah, always thinks someone can do a much better job than she can." I chuckle and realize it's quiet behind us. I look up at Nick and ask " their all looking at me , aren't they?" He chuckles " you can't blame them, you did sneak attack Barton." I sigh and run a hand through my wavy mane. " Well can't let circus man reveal all my secrets now can I?" I roll my neck to loosen my muscles and I turn to the others. I see a mix of shock, curiosity and Amusement. I move past them to my dinner and take a seat to eat. As I'm cutting into my steak I notice it's still quiet. I sigh "alright you get five questions. Only yes and no questions. All right ? Spangled man with a plan you go first." I watch as he blushes , and I smile a little mischievously. " well come on Mr. Liberty and Justice . Spit it out." I watch as he jaw clenches in irritation. " uh huh, that right there is why I've been brought in. To make sure this team can function and not be swayed by personal opinions or ideas and make sure we can move past that. We don't want a repeat of Avengers civil war now do we? So get use to me pushing your buttons, American man. You don't have to like me but you will respect me understand "Steven Grant Rogers?" He clears his throat " Yes ma'am." I nod my head " so ask your questions ." " so I take it from the way you act and talk you are a higher up in S.H.I.E.L.D?" Asks Sam .!I smile at him as I fold my arms " I don't work for S.H.I.E.L.D. But I can say that I have been called upon many times to ... shall we say... give help when no one else could." Barton rolls his eyes " hey Mr. I can shoot an bow and arrow , you know it's true. I've pulled you and Nats butt out of many situations. Remember Budapest? " he groans and slaps his forehead. " one time , the one time I run out of arrows... you know what never mind." He starts and stops when he remembers where he's at. " Sorry I'm late every one Tony was holding me up in the lab and I ... " I turn at the sound of The voice . " Octavia?" I roll my eyes and groan . Big man how many times have I told you not to call me that?" Bruce rubs the back of his neck in embarrassment " Probably more than I can remember." I walk over to him and hug him. " it's good to see you my friend ." He hesitantly hugs me back at first then squeezes me tightly. " I thought you weren't coming back?" He whispers " Big man , things change . People change." He pulls back and smiles at me. " I'm glad your here I need a break at having to deal with Tony's ego." I laugh long and hard. " you are looking at the wrong woman. Try Pepper I'm sure she can wrangle him to behave." He sighs. " I'm sorry how do you know each other?" Asks Steve. " Bruce and I studied together in collage. I helped him with his physics homework and he helped me with microbiology and gamma ray studies." I realize that's four questions. " So what brings you here Lady Jade?" My smile falters and I look around the room " I'm trying to fix a my broken heart. And I do believe that's all five questions. Alright Nick I'm heading to my room. I will see you all at the gym at 5 am. Not later than 5:15 . Be prepared to work muscles you've never worked before . This is mandatory. That includes you Stark! " I yell at the ceiling " Dang it! How'd you know I was listening in. " I place my hands on my hips " Seriously Stark ? I TAUGHT YOU HOW TO HACK A VIDEO FEED TO LISTEN IN ON CONVERSATIONS!!! Be at the gym or so help me I will go full Vixen mode on you! Claws and all. " I hear a gulp and he disconnects. " now if you'll excuse me I have to run. I need to go pick up my stuff from my apartment... Wait Nick did you get some one to pack up everything at my apartment? " he shrugs . " Of course you did fine. But if there is one scratch on my Ninja I will go full Vixen and castrate someone. " I walk out of the room to go find my room . What a long day. Plus side is I'm working with a lot of very fine men.
