laws of reaction

A/N: Because Yuuta doesn't get nearly enough love in the Tezuka/Fuji dynamics. Uneditted, so uh... bewaaare the typos and bad attempts at humour. And logic.

And of course, as always, my express thanks to everyone who reads, enjoys and reviews. :3

Newton's Third Law of Motion: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

For two of the people who knew, if not necessarily understood, him the best, and whose personalities were relatively the same, Fuji had expected their reactions to be somewhat more similar.

Yuuta's jaw had dropped open to the floor, his mouth a large gaping hole that was doing a good job of mimicking one of Oishi's fish. Fuji momentarily worried that his dear little brother might choke on a passing fly. Then, Yuuta's mouth snapped shut, his throat convulsing in a desperate attempt to produce some— any —sound to convey his sheer shock. (Not disbelief, however. There was nothing he wouldn't believe of his older brother anymore. But this --! He never expected --)

"A-Aniki no baka!" It came out as more of a strangled yelp than the indignantly outraged cry he had been aiming for, and the effect was lessened for it.

Fuji beamed at his younger brother's acknowledgement.

Tezuka, on the other hand, had merely shook his head with a distinct air of resignation, and the corner of his mouth twitched, suppressing either a sigh, or a smile—Fuji couldn't quite tell. The look he'd levelled at Fuji as he'd walked over was one of long-suffering exasperation with a glimmer silent, wry amusement.

The blue-eyed tensai lifted his head obligingly to smile at the taller man standing in front of him now, and Tezuka bent to drop a small, chaste kiss on Fuji's lips. The gesture, in conjunction to the look in his eyes, told Fuji that he wasn't upset, but that he really should not have pulled this kind of thing.

Fuji responded with a light shrug, still beaming widely as he smoothed down the pale blue ruffled dress with one hand, the other going to straighten the sparkling tiara perched on his head.

It must be the two years of co-habitation, Fuji decided as he watched Tezuka lead Yuuta away to allow Fuji time to change back into his normal clothes.
