A/N: My first entry for this year's Sokkla Saturdays. Thanks to everyone making this event. Hope you'll enjoy my short stories. Some chapters will be part of my Kim Possible AU Fic "Only You & Me"
Snow. The white flakes were not usual in their lives. Yet a part of them still, since a member of their family came from a place with lots of snow and ice.
Today was the second time the children experienced snowing. Although they barely remembered their first time with the white flakes, since they were too young.
For their mother, it was the third time. Azula visited the South Pole with Sokka once. Back then, when she has become a full member of the chief's family and of the Water Tribe.
The second time was after her marriage with the love of her life and after becoming parents. Their children were much younger back then.
And today was their first day of vacation in a northern island. Azula needed a break from all the stress. Sokka surprised her with the idea of taking a vacation. Both decided it would be a good idea to travel to a place with snow. That way they would introduce their children properly with. It would also be a change of season for the married couple. A short break from the hot temperatures of the Fire Nation Capital.
Here they were now. Running around happily and playing snowball fight.
The view was beautiful. All dressed warmly. Their friends were there too, but right now it was just the small and happy family. The family Azula and Sokka made together.
"Now we'll try to catch mommy okay?" Sokka kneeled to their children and whispered.
Azula gave them a judgmental look from afar and understood what their plan was "Yeah, alright."
All of them ran towards her, throwing snowballs at her. Sokka reached her quickly and jumped on her, holding her in place. Laughter and joy filled the island.
No matter how much time passed. No matter if they got a little older and became parents. Nothing changed in their love for each other. Sokka never neglected her, even if she was a mother and as selfless as she had to be now, couldn't spend as much as time with him as she wished. But he was always there. She was never alone. Never did they fail to cuddle in bed in the evening and through the night. Never did they fail hugging and kissing each other. Be it for goodbyes, hellos, or something else.
He still prioritized her no matter what. He loved his children with all his being. But his wife was always his all. After his parents and sister, Azula has been the only one he felt this enorm of power of loving for. No matter what, he was her's.
Every time Azula felt that heartwarming smile on him, she smiled back and was grateful. He would look at her from afar and thank his life for being so lucky to have her.
At the evening, skies in the northern island darkened earlier than in the Fire Nation. Their children already went to bed.
Azula and Sokka were huddled together, looking at the romantic view in the island. A blanket over them and hot chocolate. Sokka's head resting on top of her's, his nose taking in her scent. Azula rested on his chest.
"I love you so much" Sokka said, closing his eyes.
"I love you Sokka" Azula replied, looking at him.
A kiss made the view of that island much more beautiful and filled it with warmth in the cold winter.
