Chapter 10
The Battle for Haven
It was night, the moon was full.
Shade was loading his weapon right before Dawn walked in.
"The time has come."
"Good."
Shade said while putting his blade back in his gauntlet.
He walked past Dawn.
Dawn followed him.
As they walked out Hiroki was waiting for them at the exit.
Shade nods at Hiroki who also responds with a nod.
The three walked outside where the rest of the group waited for them.
They slowly walked towards Haven academy.
Qrow was in front of all of them.
They walked inside and went to the center of the room.
Lionheart was waiting at the top of some stairs.
Shade's group remained behind the rest for now.
"Why hello."
Lionheart said.
"Thank you for coming. There seems to be more of you than last time."
Hiroki and Dawn glared at Lionheart.
Shade looked at them and shook his head.
The two stopped glaring at Lionheart.
"Eh you know what they say, the more the merrier. So what's going on with the council?"
Lionheart looked nervous.
"Why did you bring your weapons?"
Dawn whispered to Hiroki and Shade.
"He's trying to hide his weapon and asks us why we bring ours?"
"I'm always armed, that's my excuse."
Shade responded.
"Leo,We're Huntsman."
Qrow responded.
It was at this point Yang and Hiroki noticed a Raven on the second floor.
"Is that?"
Hiroki asked.
"Mom?"
Yang questioned.
Qrow shot at the Raven.
Raven flew behind Lionheart and returned to her Human form.
"Raven."
Ruby said quietly.
"They really are magic."
Nora said in disbelief.
Hiroki moved to the front of the group.
Raven took her mask off.
"If you're going to shoot me, shoot me, that was insulting."
Suddenly a shot grazed her hair and made a hole in the wall behind her.
Everyone looked at Hiroki who shot.
He returned his weapon to its double sided state.
"See at least he knew where to shoot if he wanted to truly hit me."
"That was a warning."
Hiroki said with a glare.
"Those eyes havent changed."
Hiroki kept calm to avoid triggering his semblance.
He knew that if more enemies were to arrive using his full power now would not be helpful in the long run.
"What are you doing here?"
Qrow asked
Raven started to walk down the stairs.
"I could ask you the same thing."
Shade readied his gauntlets not knowing what could happen.
"You've been scheming little brother, planning to attack your own sister."
Qrow turned to Lionheart.
"Leo, what have you done?"
The anger in Qrow's voice was fierce.
"Leo did what any sane person would in his position."
Raven was now standing in front of the group.
"He looked at all the information in front of him, assessed the situation and made a choice."
Raven looked at Yang then at Hiroki
"And it seems you all have too."
"You have the Spring Maiden."
Qrow responded.
"I do"
Qrow put his weapon away.
"Then hand her over and let's work together."
"She's not going to listen to you."
Hiroki said while glaring at Raven.
"It appears she's made a choice as well."
"He's right, all that time spying for Ozpin and you still don't know what you're dealing with. There is no beating Salem."
"You're wrong."
Ruby spoke up, causing Raven to look at her.
"We've done most things people would call impossible and I know the only reason we were able to do it is because we didn't do it alone.We have people to teach us, people to help us we have each other."
Shade looked at Hiroki then at Dawn.
They each nodded at him.
He nodded back in response.
"Work with us."
Ruby extended her hand to Raven.
"At least I know we'll have a better chance if we try together, please."
Raven had a scowl on her face.
"You sound just like your mother."
She quickly drew her sword and sliced open a portal.
As soon as the portal opened Shade felt something in him.
He quickly moved in front of Ruby as a fireball was shot from the portal directly at her.
Shade quickly put his shield in front of them and blocked the attack.
"I knew it."
Shade said with a glare as Cinder appeared from the portal.
"Hello boys and girls."
She said as Vernal Mercury Emerald and Yuki appeared from the portal.
"Cinder"
Ruby said with hate in her voice.
She looked at Shade who quickly put his blades in his hands.
"I'm going to kill her."
Shade said while glaring at Cinder.
The group of 6 stood in a line and Yuki stood to the right of Cinder.
"C'mon guys, is that anyway to greet your old friends."
Dawn aimed her gun blades at Mercury.
"That's the last thing I would call you."
Yang glared at Mercury.
"Everybody stop and remain calm."
Qrow said.
Suddenly the doors behind them opened.
Hazel and Monika walked into the room.
"Oh no."
Oscar said as Hazel closed the doors behind them.
"The White Fang is prepping demolition and securing the school grounds."
"And taking their time while doing it."
Monika said to Hazel while walking towards the group with Hazel.
"This was all just a trap?"
Weiss questioned.
"It appears so."
Ren responded.
"Raven, tell me, how long have you been with them?"
Qrow asked.
Cinder responded.
"Aww don't take it personally little bird. Your sister was a recent addition. The lion on the other hand, entrance into the Vytal Festival was a real treat."
Everyone was basically glaring at Lionheart at this point.
Shade's main focus was on Cinder and planning his attack on her.
"But Leonardo has been sending Salem all sorts of useful information for a very very long time."
Cinder looked at Lionheart.
"Isn't that right Professor?"
"Stop it."
Lionheart responded.
"It was you, you sit on the Mystral Council,you had information on every huntsman and huntress in the kingdom,and you gave it all to her."
"I-"
"I couldn't find any of them because you let her kill them."
Cinder spoke up in a calm voice.
"Aww don't beat yourself about it, Lionheart. I'm sure we would have found them all eventually."
Shade was shaking in rage as Jaune spoke up.
"What is wrong with you?"
He asks Cinder
"How can you be so broken inside to take so many lives and come here and rub it in our faces like it's something to be proud of?"
Shade and the others looked at Jaune,remembering what Cinder did.
"All with that damn smile on your face!"
Jaune shouted with tears in her eyes.
Ruby and Yang readied their weapons.
"Everybody stay calm."
Qrow said.
"I think we're beyond that at this point."
Dawn said while aiming her weapon at Monika now.
"I'm going to make you pay for what you did! Do you hear me?!"
Nora Weiss and Ren readied their weapons.
"Well say something!"
Jaune shouted.
"Who are you again?"
Cinder's response was.
Jaune readied his sword with the shield attached.
Shade looked at Jaune and nodded.
The two ran at Cinder.
But before Shade could reach her Yuki jumped at him causing Shade to jump back.
"Get out of my way Yuki!"
Yuki just swung her finger at him.
"Ah ah ah, sorry but as long as my Queen has use for the Fall Maiden i can't let you harm her."
Shade aimed both blades at Yuki with his right blade aimed higher.
Hiroki glared at Raven.
He quickly aimed his blade up and blocked a red mechanical blade.
Hiroki looked up to see Kiryu above him..
Kiryu held a special pistol that was silver and blue.
He aimed the gun at Hiroki's head.
Hiroki quickly ducked to dodge the shot but was hit in the back by Kiryu's sword.
Kiryu moved a few feet back and moved his hand up.
Suddenly Hiroki was thrown up into the ceiling.
"I don't have time to waste on a child."
Kiryu said as he started floating towards Hiroki who was stuck on the ceiling.
His blade was aimed at Hiroki's neck.
Right before it reached him, Hiroki's semblance activated, pushing Kiryu back.
"This is different."
Hiroki floated in front of Kiryu.
"Your semblance is troublesome but wont work on me again."
Both sword users clashed in the sky.
Dawn noticed Monika walking towards her.
"Back off!"
Dawn shouted as she prepared to shoot at her.
Monika kept walking.
Dawn shot at her with both her weapons.
But each shot just bounced off her.
"What?"
Dawn questioned as she switched her weapon to its ax mode.
Monika pulled a double bladed green handled mechanical scythe.
When Monika got close to Dawn she launched her scythe blade directly at Dawn.
Dawn quickly spinned her ax and knocked the scythe blade back.
The blade retracted back to the handle using a chain.
"You're out of your league."
Monika spun her scythe and launched both blades at Dawn.
The chain was starting to surround her.
She quickly jumped up and towards Monika.
Dawn swung her blade down at Monika's head.
Unfortunately it did no damage and Dawn was bounced back.
"Is that all you got?"
AN:This is it everyone, the build up of this entire Volume has led up to this. Now this is only the beginning. I have a special chapter planned next time that mostly involves the conflict between mine and my friend's characters versus my Villain ocs. Also because I couldn't use a chapter in this volume to make up for it. Until next time.
