-1The Pond was silent. The frogs were croaking, but otherwise, it was quit. A 9 year old child, stood over the pond looking fearfully at her own refelction. The water was what she was really frightrednd of. But this was the only place to hide from her family.

Because of course, she was green.

Elphaba was hiding from her parents, they wanted her to return to that hateful school lof hers, not wanting to return there, she had hidden in the somewhat safe havan of the lake. This was the last place her parents would ever come looking for her. It was also an escape from the horrors that ensued her from the outside world.

Oz had fallen into a slump, the wizard had just taken over the former Ozma, well, the child anyway. Some say she is still alive in hididng but others say she died. His new polices to Oz were positively outrages! The taxes were way to high, and he was deamding money from all the people alike. And also demanding the slaughter of harmless Animals. He was also planning do dig the ruby's eep in he quadling swamps.

Some say the wizard was insane, some think he is a true visionary for Oz. Both of them were wrong.

Elphaba slowly creeped from under a big rock byt the side of the lake to an oak tree. She wondered how long it would be before her parents find out. It probably wouldn't be until after school, her teacher never cared about her, she was green. Everyone was always gawking about Nessarose, her armless sister, just because she had no arms! The only time they ever gawked at Elphave was when they wanted to kill her! It wasn't any better at home, all she heard was her father crooning over nesse. He would call her his pet, he never called her anything.

She had come her out of, not only her own will, but others. They all hated her, and wanted to kill her. Whenever they tried to insult her, she would yell at them, then the teacher would have to come out and explain to her it was bad. "think of what the Unamed God would think?" she would holler. Then Elphaba would have to explain she didn't bealive in him. The teacer would then press her about, then do u believe in Lurline? She would ask. No, Elphaba would reply. Then the teacher would get mad and samck her hands until they were purple.

Elphaba seemed this was the only place that she fit in, with the frogs and everything.
