Wow!
I've managed to get another chapter up within 24 hours! That sure is rare! But I am eager to finish this story then I can work on new stuff thats been a long time coming!
Last place we left off Diablo and the Disciples were about to unleash carnage on the Cult and Jake is trapped in the Church with them and was unable to let the Chicago Knights and Mona outside know what was happening as he had dropped his phone!
How will things fare here? Well put down your drinks! Get reading!
Chapter Fifty-Eight
We Meet Again
Back outside, the Chicago Knights and Mona waited to hear from Jake.
"Aww man, what's taking so long?" Percy asked impatiently.
"Give him a chance man!" Jack snapped "The kids got guts going in there, and nothing's happened yet."
"Maybe Diablo was never going to attack the church anyway?" Sharky suggested.
Mona chewed her lip and looked at Tyroth who checked his phone.
"Nothing yet." He answered.
The Lizard Lady sighed.
"Maybe Diablo was never going to attack after all." She said in defeated tone as she looked at her fans, starting to feel she had made everyone worry back home for no reason at all.
Sephie patted Mona's shoulder comfortingly.
"Hold the phone Geisha Warrior!" Devina said as she looked over the rooftop "I see something!"
"What?" everyone asked and jumped up grabbing their weapons.
"What's going on?" Tyroth asked, but he soon saw Devina leap off the roof and down into the street.
"Hey wait!" the Dragon called but Devina had already disappeared off into the darkness.
"What's she up to?" Amber asked then saw Mona leap off the roof and follow the Vampiress.
"Hey wait! Mona!" she shouted, but Mona didn't respond yet continued to follow Devina.
What the Knights didn't realise was that Devina had spotted the two men running from the church and decided to confront them.
The Vampiress swiftly made it down into the street then stopped at a corner where the men were heading, then she stealthily stepped out and as she did, she collided with one of them and went flying.
"Whoa!" Devina shouted as she fell on her backside and the two men practically jumped out of their skins!
"Oh gosh! I'm so sorry m'am!" the first man said, "We didn't see you there!"
The second one held out his hand and pulled Devina to her feet to which the Vampiress nodded in thanks.
"It's quite alright!" Devina said "My fault, I should be paying attention." She paused as she looked at the two men.
"Goodness me," she said "What frightens you so much? You look like you've seen a ghost?"
"Huh?" the first man asked "What?"
The second man wiped his forehead.
"Oh man, I uh…?"
Devina looked over their shoulders at the Church behind them.
"Did you just come out of there?" she asked.
The two men looked over their shoulders.
"Uh," the first one said "Yeah, but we're not part of it anymore!" he added quickly "We just left!"
"Yeah!" the other one added "It's evil in there! We wish we'd never gotten involved! They're sinners! They all are!"
"Ricky!" the first man said.
"Sorry!" the second man cried "I just…I just wanna get away from there! I've gone mad! I'm sure of it!"
Then before Devina could question what was going on, the two men grabbed each other's hands, and they ran away as fast as they could into the darkness.
"Hey wait!" Devina called, but the men didn't look back and they soon disappeared into the streets.
As the men vanished, Mona stepped out of the shadows.
"Devina?" she asked.
The Vampiress turned to the Lizard lady.
"They seemed terrified." She said, "They looked like they'd seen the most horrific thing!"
Mona read Devina's face and thought hard for a second.
Analysing what Devina had said to her, she looked up and glared.
"He's there!" she cried "No doubt about it!"
"What?" Devina asked.
"He's in there!" Mona shouted "Diablo! If those men looked that terrified, they must have seen him!"
"But…how come Jake hasn't responded?" Devina asked "Wouldn't he have let us know if he did?"
Mona took a breath as she thought of that option, but then she remembered that when Jake had searched for Diablo before, he was successful, but his two disciples, Rex and Samson had managed to sniff him out!
If there were there too, maybe they had smelt him and managed to subdue him!
"NO!" she cried "Oh God Jake!" she ran past Devina and towards the church.
"Mona, wait!" Devina shouted but Mona was beyond reasoning as she ran towards the church.
Devina looked up at Tyroth who was looking over the rooftop and signalled to him.
The Dragon glared then looked at the others.
"Let's move guys!" he ordered, and he flew off the roof with the others behind him.
"Damn! This isn't what I planned!" he lamented.
Inside the Church, Diablo cackled and cawed as he watched the Disciples walk around the church terrifying the members.
Some had tried to escape but were caught by Ravage, Samson and Rex who would either give them a few shoves or punches or Lamia would use her electrical touch on them.
Regan had scared a few by snapping at them and showing her fangs threating to bite, yet until she was given permission to bite, she kept her distance.
Chastity continued to stand at the doors of the Church blocking everyone's escape and used her wings to knock a few people back as well as peck with her beak or swipe and slash with her talons.
Looking down at the Preacher, the Raven saw the man about to regain consciousness.
"Ah good." He smirked "You're awake again, about time!"
"You fag!" the preacher choked "You child raping fag!"
Diablo glared then slammed the Preacher's face down again, this time giving him a broken nose.
"You narrowed minded bigot!" he cawed "You think me to be someone you discriminate in disguise? This is no disguise!"
He pulled the Preacher close, so he was beak to nose with the man.
"I am no human! I am Diablo! The one sent to punish you for your sins! You've spent your life bullying and discriminate others for your own personal gain! You lead others to follow you, to bully and hate! And all in the name of God?"
He cawed again in the Preacher's face then ripped his shirt exposing his chest.
"You claim to be a man of God! You are no man of God! You use religion as an excuse to bully and discriminate! You speak not the words of God, but your own disgusting views! And Such sins must be punished!"
He held up his talons and he clawed them before pressing them against the preacher's chest and running them down his skin drawing blood making the man scream.
"NO!" the man shouted in pain "No! Please God!"
"This! Is God!" Diablo cawed "Feel the pain! Feel the agony! You deserve it!"
In the aisle, Ravage towered over his mother and smirked.
"You claimed to love me, you fucking bitch?" he snapped "You claimed to love your son? But you made him suffer with harsh punishments just because he wanted to do stuff outside this disgusting cult?"
The woman looked up at Ravage and tried to back away.
"Patrick…" she begged "Please!"
"I'm not Patrick!" Ravage screamed "I'm not your son! Not anymore! Dad said it himself!"
He kicked his mother in the ribs and she rolled over crying out in pain.
"You're a shit mother! You were both shit parents! You cared more about this fucking cult than me! You're supposed to love me and protect me! Support me! But you did none of that! You're shit parents! I hate you! I hate your fucking guts! You go to hell!"
Chastity continued to shout from her position at the doors.
"There is no escape!" she screamed at the top of her lungs as she threw her wings at anyone who got close to her.
"You are sinners! You will not escape judgement! God is not here! God was never here! You will burn forever in the flames of hell!"
At the same time, Rex and Samson continued to walk up and down the aisle and snarled and snapped at the members if they tried to escape, some who tried were instantly pushed or punched back by the panther and Doberman, or Lamia would touch their skin and shock them into a painful seizure or into unconsciousness.
Regan meanwhile snarled and hissed, especially at the frightened children, her fangs were aching as she was desperate to bite and drink their blood, but she was told by the older Disciples not to attack unless she was given permission to.
As the Disciples walked around the church, scaring and assaulting everyone and Diablo was torturing the Preacher, the members cowered in their seats, as well as hugged each other in fright.
"Mercy! Please!" many begged but the Disciples each shouted back with the words.
"There is no mercy for sinners! You all deserve to be punished for your evil ways!"
Diablo smirked and revealed in the fear of the members, then he lifted the preacher by the scruff of the neck for everyone to see.
"See what happens to those who sin!" he cawed "You will all suffer the same fate! All of you!"
He then threw the preacher in front of the aisle and jumped onto the alter opening his wings.
"The Devil is within!" he cawed "You are all marked by the Devil! Heaven will never welcome you! You are all damned! You will all burn!"
The Members screamed and Diablo cawed again then looked to Regan who looked at him expectantly.
"Regan!" he hissed pointing a taloned finger at the preacher "Feast on his flesh!"
Regan smirked and licked her lips.
"Thank you…" she snarled before going over to the Preacher then leaning down and sinking her fangs into his neck!
The Preacher, still dazed after being beat up by Diablo, he gasped in pain, but he didn't have the strength to struggle against the little Vampire bat as she drank his blood.
Meanwhile, as all the carnage was happening within the church, Jake kept trying to reach for his phone.
"Come on! Come on!" he cursed as he felt around, and then he finally felt the familiar plastic and glass and he pulled it towards him!
Yet no sooner did he grab it than he saw a foot stamp on his wrist, and he looked up to find himself face to face with Rex!
"Shit!" he cursed and before he could try and pull back, Rex grabbed him by the collar and pulled him up before subduing him in an armlock against the wall!
"I thought I smelt something familiar!" Rex growled "Did you really think you could hide?"
Jake struggled against Rex.
"Get off me!" he protested "Get your paws off me Dog!"
"Negative!" Rex barked then slammed Jake's body against the wall dazing him then dragging him to the front.
"Diablo!" he shouted, "Look what I smelt out here!"
Diablo who had been standing over the Preacher watching Regan feed on him looked over to Rex and saw the Doberman throw Jake before him.
The Raven's eyes widened as he saw his brother, despite the clothes he wore and the beard he had grown, he recognised his older brother right away!
"NO!" he gasped "Jake?"
Jake shook his head shaking off stars and looked up at Diablo.
"Ca…Ca…Callum?" he stuttered trying to regain his composure.
Diablo glared and stepped over to Jake.
"I am not Callum!" he roared "Callum is dead! Callum doesn't exist anymore you idiot!"
He punched Jake then grabbed him by the throat and lifted him up.
"Why do you hound me, Jake?" Diablo snarled.
Jake choked and grabbed Diablo's wrist.
"Brother….please…" he gasped.
"Brother?" Diablo scoffed "I'm not your brother! I ceased being your brother when I became this!"
Jake coughed and shook his head, tears erupting from his eyes.
"What have you done? What have you done?" he gasped "Why do you do this?"
Diablo snarled then dropped Jake to which the young man coughed and tried to crawl away, but Rex stood in his way.
Jake looked back at Diablo who placed his taloned foot on his chest.
"When are you going to get it!?" Diablo shouted "I lead my own life! These bastards are sinners, and they are to be punished! My disciples will make them pay for their disgusting views! They suffered due to the attitudes and actions of people like this! And we will get satisfaction!"
He then looked over to Regan who was still drinking from the Preacher.
"Enough Regan!" he said, "He has suffered enough!"
Regan looked up at Diablo and licked her lips, blood dripping down her chin then she stood up and stepped over to Jake.
"Thank you for letting me feed on that bad man!" she smiled up at the Raven and nuzzled him.
Diablo smirked and stroked her hair.
"You're welcome child."
"Will you allow me to have more?" Regan asked, her eyes flashing.
Jake gasped in fear.
Diablo smirked.
"I can allow you to have more." He said then looked down at Jake whose eyes widened.
"NO!" he shouted "Callum! Please no! this isn't you! Please!"
Diablo curled his beak.
"I warned you to stay out of my business Jake!" he snarled "Yet you choose to ignore me!"
Regan bared her sharp teeth and stepped over and leant over Jake.
"I've given you many warnings! Many Chances!" Diablo shouted "Yet you choose to ignore me! Now I will make you pay the price!"
He pressed harder on Jake's chest and Regan leant closer to Jake, baring her fangs as she lowered herself to his throat.
Jake tried to get away, but it was impossible, and he soon felt Regan's breath on his cheek. Closing his eyes, he waited for her to clamp her teeth on his throat.
Just then a scream was heard from the front followed by an explosion as a large fireball appeared at the doorway throwing Chastity forward!
Diablo, Samson, Ravage, Lamia, Rex and Regan looked up and saw a large wall of fire then they saw a figure leap into the church.
"Fuck!" Diablo shouted "Disciples! Fall Back!"
Jake looked over and he saw to his relief Tyroth had arrived! If anyone could create that kind of fireball it was the Dragon Mutant!
Looking at the figure that entered through the flames, he recognised the silhouette.
"Sis?"
Diablo's eyes widened as he saw within the light of the flames it was none other than his mutant lizard sister Mona!
"Diablo!" Mona screamed as she held up her bladed fans and leapt over to him, despite the gasps and shocked cries of everyone around her, both the members of the church and the Disciples.
"Not you too!" Diablo growled.
Mona glared and stepped over to Diablo.
"You think I wasn't going to sit back and let you cause havoc?" she demanded "You've gone too far!"
Diablo took his foot off Jake and stepped back.
"You got a lot of nerve sister!" he hissed "You were no different from me from what I remember, all those years ago!"
"Don't even go there!" Mona screamed "You've gone too far! I plan to put a stop to your crusades!"
As the Lizard Lady walked up the aisle to get closer to her Raven mutant brother, Tyroth and the Chicago Knights followed close behind.
As they did, the members of the church weren't sure of what to do, then they saw the walls of the church were starting to burn due to Tyroth's fire breathing.
Sephie and Amber walked on either side of Tyroth and seeing the church was starting to burn and that a fight might break out between Diablo and Mona, they encouraged the members to run.
No sooner did the members get that sign that they ran for the open door both relieved but also severely traumatised at what they had witnessed.
"We Repent!" they screamed as they ran "We Repent! We Repent"
As the last of the members left, Mona turned to Diablo.
"You got nowhere to run Diablo!" she growled "You're cornered! You and your followers!"
Diablo glared and the Disciples gathered around him.
"You want to take us?" Diablo challenged "Then fine! But we will not go down easily!"
Jake stood up and pulled out his gun.
"It doesn't have to be this way Diablo!" he said as he held up the gun "Surrender!"
Diablo glared.
"Not likely!" he spat "I will not give up my mission to punish sinners! Or live the life I please!"
"Likewise!" Samson growled "Let us be! And we shall leave you be!"
Tyroth growled as fire appeared between his teeth and he stepped forward, yet Monalisa and Jake stopped him.
"He's ours to deal with!" Jake barked "Stand down!"
Tyroth glared yet he respected Jake's wishes and stood back, giving the same order to the Knights who lowered their weapons.
"Boss?" Jack asked.
"We must respect the wishes of Jake and Mona!" Tyroth said sternly "Please! We must obey!"
The Knights glared but they reluctantly agreed and lowered their weapons, but they were ready just in case of anything unexpected.
Mona held up her fans and stepped towards Diablo.
"Stand down Diablo!" she hissed "I won't let you continue your reckless behaviour and put us all in danger!"
Diablo held up his taloned hands.
"Oh really?" he asked, "And you are willing to fight me?"
Mona just glared and Jake kept his gun up.
"Come on Mona." Diablo asked, "You don't want to do this, do you, big sister?"
"No, I don't," Mona answered softly in an honest tone "but I have to…it's the only way!"
Diablo glared and got into a fighting position.
"So be it!" he growled.
So The confrontation has begun! The Freeman Siblings are reunited, yet a fight is about to begin!
Who will Stand and who will Fall? (A Transformers quote may I add there! lol!)
Also, for those who didn't notice, when Diablo says to the Preacher ' .God!' it's a quote said by Freddy Krueger in the first 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' Its an old film but one of my favourites in horror!
