Sorry for the wait, but here it is! The final confrontation! Mona Verses Diablo! Hope this was worth the wait!
I spent a lot of time listening to 'Don't Let me be Misunderstood' from the film 'Kill Bill' as well as Within Temptation's 'What Have you Done' to get the feel for this scene! Have a listen and you'll see how they fit in a way!
Chapter Fifty-Nine
Sibling Showdown
Mona stared Diablo down, her fans drawn and bent in a fighting stance, and Diablo held up his taloned hands as well as opened his large black wings.
Jake kept his gun on the Raven, his finger on the trigger, if he was to shoot his brother, he decided to aim for the wings, or his legs, at least he could injure him enough to get the Knights to jump on him.
The Knights and the Disciples wondered what was going to happen, as they watched, the church was slowly starting to catch fire due to Tyroth's fire breath and they knew it wouldn't be long before the police arrived.
Regan snarled and stepped forward to help, and Samson and Rex also put their fist up ready to fight.
"Stand back…" Diablo hissed out the corner of his beak "This is my fight."
The Panther and Doberman looked hesitant.
"That's an order!" Diablo growled "Get out of here! I'll deal with my brother and sister!"
Glaring and curling his beak into a sneer, he cawed loudly and flapped his wings making smoke and debris fly up into the air making the Knights cower to cover their eyes, and Mona and Jake were also thrown off guard.
The Disciples also jumped back, Diablo then cawed again loudly, then threw himself towards Mona before she had a chance to move and grabbed her throat before flying out through the church doors with her!
As he did so, Mona in shock dropped her fans and she grabbed his wrist as he took off with her.
"MONA!" Jake shouted as he turned and started firing his gun at Diablo before he could get away, yet the bullets missed and embedded in the walls of the church!
The other Knights ran outside to follow the Raven as he dragged his sister outside.
"Mona!" Sephie shouted as she drew her bow and arrows to try and shoot Diablo down, yet the Raven flew up higher above the church with Mona in tow!
As the Knights were distracted, Ravage turned to the Disciples.
"Quickly!" he shouted grabbing their attention, "Follow me!"
He then led the Disciples to a side door.
"The fire escape is this way!"
At once, the other Disciples knew they had to get away whilst the Knights minds were elsewhere, and they followed Ravage to the side door.
"We got to help Diablo!" Chastity cried wincing slightly as some of her feathers were burnt from where Tyroth had blown the door in with his fire breath.
"You need medical attention!" Samson said with worry as he looked at the Dove's singed feathers.
"I'll be alright!" Chastity insisted "I can heal faster as a mutant than when I was human! Let's just get out of here!"
As the Disciples ran out the other door, Tyroth watched as Diablo flew up with Mona onto a high rooftop.
Sephie fired her arrows up at the Raven yet she missed several times.
"Get back here Devil!" she screamed and fired another arrow, This time, the arrow hit Diablo in the wing and he cawed in pain before landing on the high roof with Mona!
"I got him!" She shouted triumphally.
"Good shot!" Tyroth shouted he then turned around to the burning church to make sure everyone got out safe, and he saw the Disciples escaping out the back doors!
"Jack! Kate, Heather, Sharky, Sarah! Percy! Amber!" he shouted "Get after the other Disciples! The rest of us will help Mona!"
Jack gripped his weapons.
"On it, boss!" He shouted "I can smell them a mile away! They won't get far!"
He motioned for the Marine Igauna, Viper, Shark, Dragonfly, Cheetah, and Grasshopper to follow him and Tyroth turned to the others.
Devina transformed into her Beast form and Jake jumped on her back before she flew upwards.
Sephie then leapt onto Tyroth's back and they followed the others to the high roof to see where Diablo and Mona had landed.
After Sephie's arrow had struck Diablo's wing, he had dropped down onto the rooftop and he and Mona landed in a messy heap.
Mona rolled over several times and jumped up just as Diablo shook off stars and recovered, ripping the arrow out of his wing, and holding it tightly.
Glaring and realising she had dropped her fans, she crouched and clawed her hands, ready to use the aggressive and lethal tiger style Kung Fu.
"We don't have to do this the hard way Diablo." Mona said softly keeping her fingers clawed and at eye level.
"I know…" Diablo sneered "But since you won't let up, the hard way is the only way!"
"Very well." Mona snarled "One shall Stand, one shall fall!"
"Come on…" Diablo hissed.
Mona nodded, then ran at Diablo, who did the same, with the arrow as a weapon.
The siblings ran towards each other, then started to fight in hand-to-hand combat! Mona struck with her clawed hands trying to grab at the Raven, yet Diablo dodged and blocked her moves using his wings as extra limbs and Mona also used her tail to try and strike.
At the same time, Tyroth, Sephie, Jake, and Devina appeared, the flyers putting their non-flying comrades on the roof and watched the fight.
Tyroth wanted to step in, but he respected Mona's wishes to take down Diablo.
Jake glared and held up his gun, yet he hesitated as Mona and Diablo were close in combat and even if he had a good shot, he could hit Mona by accident!
All he could do was watch and hope to get an opening.
Sephie stood next to him, her eyes narrowed in determination.
Tyroth and Devina also stood back yet with great restraint, they wanted to help but they still respected Mona and Jake's wishes to stay back and let them deal with Diablo.
Mona and Diablo fought close and hand to hand, though Diablo tried to catch Mona off guard with the arrow.
Yet the Lizard Lady wasn't going to let the arrow strike her, she had fought hundreds of gang members with different weapons with her own hands and tail, she didn't always need her fans to help her out.
Diablo flapped his wings and tried to come down on her, yet Mona would either didge or flip out of the way, her tail colliding with his beak stunning him, yet he moved away as she tried to go for him.
"We'll be at this all night!" Diablo growled.
"I can keep this up all night!" Mona shot at him as she tried to strike with her tail, yet Diablo used his wings as a shield then opened them making Mona roll backwards, yet she rolled onto her feet and jumped up ready to fight again.
"I can read your moves Diablo!" Mona shouted as she threw another punch.
Diablo blocked another punch and pushed back.
"If you can read my moves?" the Raven snarled "Then read this!"
Mona glared as she aimed a kick, but Diablo moved around until he was behind the Lizard lady and held up his talons slashing her back!
Mona screamed in pain as she felt Diablo's talons rip at her clothes and skin, and she stumbled toward.
"Mona!" Sephie and Jake shouted in horror, and Devina and Tyroth gasped in shock, but Mona managed to stay on her feet, pulling a kunai knife out of her belt.
Jake glared as he saw blood erupt from Mona's back and soak her pink top through where the talons had ripped her clothes.
He held up his gun.
"Diablo!" he shouted then began firing bullets at the Raven.
Diablo cawed and flew upwards avoiding the bullets then held his foot talons out to Jake to bring down on him.
Jake gritted his teeth and kept firing at Diablo trying to hit him with the bullets, Diablo cawed in pain as a couple went through his wings, but it didn't stop him as he landed on top of Jake sending him flying to the ground!
"NO!" Tyroth shouted as Diablo held up his taloned hand to bring down on Jake, yet the Raven yelled in pain as he felt something sharp get thrown into his shoulder!
He turned and saw Mona with her hand in a throwing stance showing she had thrown a kunai knife at him!
Diablo cawed in anger.
"Get off him!" she shouted and ran for him, and Diablo leapt off Jake.
Sephie instantly ran to Jake's side.
"Are you okay?" she asked to which Jake nodded and looked towards where Diablo was running towards Mona and the Raven jumped into the air and aimed for Mona.
"Mona! Look out!" Jake shouted as he jumped up, Sephie standing with him.
Yet as he shouted those words, Diablo cawed loudly and landed on top of Mona who screamed both in shock and fear.
"MONA! NO!" Tyroth shouted as he stepped forward, Devina not far behind.
Diablo landed on top of Mona and struck his talons at her face and Mona turned away to avoid them and she felt a breeze brush past her face and some splintering stone fly up and graze her cheek as Diablo's talons struck the ground!
She gasped in shock then she heard a gurgle and gasp above her!
The Lizard Lady opened her eyes and she saw Diablo's taloned hand close to her face, almost a whisker away from where he could have stabbed her with them.
She followed his black feathered arm then looked up to see the moonstone eyes of the Raven as he looked back at her.
"Sis…" he rasped painfully "What….What have you done?"
Mona gasped as she looked at Diablo's face, which was pained and appalled.
She then felt something warm, wet and sticky on her hand and she soon saw her hand was grasping another Kunai knife, and it was embedded deep in the Raven's chest!
