Both fighters have walked into the empty dojo. The time has come for them to face each other. To see who is superior.
They are dressed in the gis of their respective schools. Barnes represents his new dojo Cobra Kai with a black sleeveless gi with the titular snake on his back. Meanwhile, Chozen sports a white gi top with black gi pants, adorning the Miyagi-Do symbol.
They come closer to the square. Barnes shoots a smug look at Chozen with manic eyes, attempting to intimidate the other man. But Chozen stares back at him with a blank look, coupled with a determined glint in his own eyes. Emotion was weak, and Chozen Toguchi was not weak.
The time for words was over. Both combatants lock eyes with each other as they take their respective school stances.
The silence is broken as Barnes strikes first, signaling the beginning of this fated duel. His explosive speed catches Chozen by surprise as he dealt a series of rapid front kicks. Chozen barely has time to raise his arms to protect himself from the attack. Though he's pushed back, slightly hurt by a couple of kicks that sneak through his guard, his defensive training manages to save him from the majority of it. He circles around Barnes, a game plan forming in his head.
Barnes once again charges at him, intending to bury his opponent in a rain of jabs. But this time, Chozen was ready for his speed. As Barnes' fists swing wildly, Chozen methodically blocks every punch coming his way. He spots an opening and lands a thunderous left hook in his opponent's ribcage. Barnes grunts as he steps back and briefly doubles over in pain. Chozen's experience allows him to see another opportunity as he lands a spinning round kick onto Barnes' exposed face. Barnes is knocked down on his back, bleeding on his cheek. First blood has been drawn.
Chozen sneers down at him and he beckons him to attack again. This act of dominance has Barnes seeing red. Never before did he have this much trouble with an opponent. He was the U.S. national champion of karate for his age group, "Karate's Bad Boy"! But yet, how did it come to this?!
Barnes leaned back for a split second before doing a nip up, landing on his feet. He takes up his stance yet again. "I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU, CHINK!"
His opponent lets out a small bit of mocking laughter before he takes up his own stance. "Let us find out, coward*!" Chozen said in a challenging tone.
The two enemies collided. Punch met punch, kick met kick. Little did Barnes know, his style was figured out by Chozen right after the first attack. Chozen realized the easiest way to defeat his foe was to let him come to him, wear himself out, and that's when he strikes. And that's exactly what Chozen did. Over and Over.
When Mike would back off to catch his breath, Chozen would follow him. He'd land several strong hits of his own, and then step back. Mike was wearing himself out, while Chozen remained steady with his attacks never losing force. In desperation, Mike tried to leverage his aggression and straightforward offense. But unfortunately, he was tailormade for his fated opponent. In turn, Chozen leveraged his defense and footwork- blocking and dodging around his opponent's line-based attacks but striking from all directions.
Barnes backed off to catch his breath one final time. He's never felt this type of pain before in his life. His ribs were broken, one eye was swelling shut and the bridge of his nose had been split open at some point. Subconsciously, he knows he can't win. But he can't allow himself to think that. With his good eye, he looks up at his most dangerous opponent yet.
He'd landed more than a few hits of his own, too. Chozen's face bore the evidence of that. But it wasn't enough, and nothing compared to what Chozen dealt in return. Everything he learned during his career was unable to help him here. His experience and techniques were nothing. For the first time in his career, he was truly and utterly outmatched.
Though knowing it was pretty much futile, Barnes threw a desperate haymaker. Chozen slid back and out of the way, reaching out one hand to grab Barnes wrist, twisting it until something snapped.
Chozen has decided: enough is enough. He couldn't drag it out any longer. This is no tournament match combat, nor it is a game. This boy, this prized tournament fighter sought to come to terms with a Miyagi-Do warrior and has to pay the cost.
Chozen kicks Barnes' legs out from under him, leaving him kneeling on both knees. He locks eyes with Barnes who nods and he is pleased to see naught but acceptance and thanks for a fight well fought. Chozen returns with a nod of his own, one of approval and respect.
Barnes then closes his eyes, waiting for the end. Chozen draws his fist back, gathering his strength. Ready, he launches it and swiftly crushes his opponent's trachea. Letting out a few choking noises, Barnes leans forward, no longer moving.
Chozen closes his eyes as he performs a bow of respect and then walks away.
So there it is! Let me know what you guys think!
