Title: Mighty Glad You Stayed

Kouga tapped his foot impatiently while waiting the train. He had already missed the first train and he did not plan on missing this one. At the sound of the approaching metal beast Kouga stood from his spot on the hard wooden bench and slung his coat over his shoulder.

Stuck on you

Got this feeling down deep in my soul that I just can't lose

Guess I'm on my way

Picking up his bag Kouga walked to the train, and quickly claimed his seat. The conductor walked by, checked his ticket and moved on. Sighing with relief he loosened his tie think of the ride ahead. It had been over 8 months since he had seen his love. Stupid business had dragged him away and finally he was free to return to her. He had been surprised she had agreed to postpone the wedding for him. She was always doing that, putting him first. She always thought about what was best for him and not her own selfish wishes. She was always a friends first and lover second. That's what he loved about her.

Needed a friend

And the way I feel now I guess I'll be with you till the end

Yes I'm on my way

Kagome had waited for him.

Mighty glad you stayed

He had been stupid not to have married her sooner, but he knew better now. Come rain, snow, sleet, or hail he wouldn't make her wait again. She had been overly generous, as was her nature, but now he would return the favor.

Stuck on you

Been a fool to long I guess it's time for me to come on home

Guess I'm on my way

He didn't even know why she liked him to begin with, he was overly possessive, demanding, foolish, and completely hard-headed, but she had chosen him as her man. Of course he being as shocked as he was at this development had cleaned up his act a bit, but still it was hard to hide him natural qualities.

So hard to see

That a woman like you could wait around for a man like me

Guess I'm on my way

She hadn't even cared he was a demon. In fact she embraced it. When he had told her she even seemed to love him more for trusting her enough to reveal such a secret.

Mighty glad you stayed

Kouga stared out the window of the racing train. He was finally going home, well almost. Since this train didn't go home exactly he'd have to catch another one tomorrow, but it'd be worth it. Planes were way too much of a hassle and he could wait a few more hours, for Kagome.

Oh, I'm leavin' on that midnight train tomorrow

And I know just where I'm going

Packed up my troubles and I've thrown them all away

If she asked him to stay after he got home he'd throw his career away in a heartbeat, she meant that much to him, in fact he should quit. His job didn't pay nearly enough and he would have to leave her again. With a curt nod he smiled, he would get a job in town nearer to her.

Because this time little darlin' I'm coming home to stay

Kouga closed his eyes and imagined arriving home. She'd be at the station waiting anxiously to see her fiancé with a handful of roses and grin. He'd tell her he loved her and he's show her. She deserved that and so much more.

I'm stuck on you

I've got this feeling down deep in my soul that I just can't lose

Guess I'm on my way

They would be married as soon as possible and they'd live happily ever after as friends, as lovers, and as husband and wife.

Needed a friend

And the way I feel now I guess I'll be with you till the end

Guess I'm on my way

Yes he was on his way home, and she would be waiting.

I'm mighty glad you stayed

No idea what I was thinking when I write this one. Shrugs I just needed some more Kouga goodness.
