A/N: IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Due to dissatisfaction with how I originally handled Ariadne's Train Rides POV, I have rewritten it and changed the chapters up, and now there is an extra chapter of content: the Reaping Recaps. That chapter is Chapter 10, which until now was Ravinstill's post-Reaping POV. Please review both the Reaping Recaps and the new version of the first part of the Train Rides, which is now Chapter 15. Thank you for understanding!
Strong trigger warning for mentions of rape in Lamar's POV.

Train Rides
The train doors close behind me, and the train starts moving. I look around, amazed by how clean and futuristic everything looks.
"Orion and Camilla should be here soon to talk with you two," Maribelle says. "Feel free to do anything you want on this train, just note that the first Reaping Recaps are at 12:30 and supper is at five. I'll show you two to your rooms, but do you have any questions for me?"
"I do," Scorpio says. "What is there to do on this train to pass the time? We won't need much discussion or coaching because we've had plenty of that back in Two. We'll still watch the Reaping Recaps, but other than that and meals I don't think anyone will need me for anything."
"Well, there's snacks and beverages available from the Avoxes," Maribelle says. "There's TV available to watch, both here and in your room. Books and video games too, if you're interested."
"Can I see what you have, in terms of books and video games?" Scorpio asks. "After Orion and Camilla have said to us whatever they need to say, of course."
"Yes, I'd be happy to show you where to find those, just yell for me at any time," Maribelle says with a smile. "Ariadne?"
"Are there animals on the train?" I ask. "Fluffy white kittens or puppies to look at?"
"I'm afraid not," Maribelle says. "We probably have some books about animals, though."
"No thanks," I say, uninterested in reading about animals. I'm only interested in looking at them.
"Alright then, I suppose we'll wait for the mentors now," Maribelle says. "Please, take a seat if you want."
"I'd rather keep training," I say with a frown. "Hey, Scorpio, let's wrestle."
"Might as well," my District Partner says with a shrug. We get into our stances and start grappling, Maribelle stepping out of the way. We haven't gotten too far into our practice when Scorpio yells to stop.
"Camilla and Orion are here," he pants.
"Oh," I say, disentangling myself from Scorpio. "I didn't notice."
"Hello Ariadne, hello Scorpio," Orion Garcia says. "Feel free to continue your wrestling after we talk to you, but we just need to make sure we're all on the same page."
"Okay," I say.
"Ariadne, aren't you going to face us when we talk to you?" Camilla asks in confusion.
"Oh, okay," I say, not really understanding why this is a question but facing Camilla and Orion so I can hear them better.
"The first thing we need to ask is whether or not to coach the two of you separately," Orion says.
"That would be preferred, thank you," Scorpio says.
"I don't care," I say.
"Alright then Scorpio, come with me," Orion says. "We can talk in my room."
Scorpio follows Orion out of the compartment. I turn to Camilla.
"There goes my wrestling partner," I say. "Can you spar with me?"
"I'd be happy to," Camilla says with a smile. "Is there anything you'd like to discuss with me? About the Capitol, the Games, anything?"
"There's a zoo at the Capitol, right?" I ask.
"I'm afraid not," Camilla says.
"Bummer, that's all I wanted to know," I say. I get into a combative stance. "Come on Camilla, let's fight."
"Are you sure you don't have any questions or anything?" Camilla asks as she gets in position.
"I already know everything that's going to happen," I say. "I want to keep training."
"Okay, fair enough," Camilla says with a smile. "Let's rumble."
The two of us wrestle until Camilla asks to take a break. I follow her to the bar, where she orders two bottles of sports drinks.
"Your dedication is admirable, Ariadne," Camilla pants, wiping sweat off her brow. "I'm having a hard time keeping up."
"All I do back in District 2 is train, and that isn't going to stop now," I say with a smile.
Camilla and I are silent as we finish up our sports drinks. I'm up and ready soon after.
"Ready for another round?" I ask my mentor.
"I need a few more minutes," Camilla says, sipping her drink.
"Alright then, I'll do some sprints," I say.
"Suit yourself. I'm beat."
I start running, and pretty soon I'm sprinting back and forth along the train. It's a really tight space, but training is training, and I'll take it. Soon I'm back at where I left Camilla, and we wrestle for a few more rounds. I happily win every time.
Lamar Hunter, age 17
District 4 Male Tribute
Train Rides
"Where are we?" my District Partner asks me. Our escort has left us after telling us that we can do anything we want on the train until dinner.
"We're on a train headed for the Capitol because we're about to enter the Hunger Games," I say, thinking of Delilah's question as strange.
"We are?" Delilah asks. "So I was Reaped into the Hunger Games?"
"Yeah, you were," I respond, my confusion growing. "You and me both."
"Oh," she says. "What's your name?"
"Lamar," I say with a smile, deciding to hide my confusion because of what I want out of Delilah. "Lamar Hunter. I'm a pianist, and a pretty good one too, but I guess that doesn't matter now does it?"
"I guess not," Delilah says. "I help my moms on their fishing boat. They're really cool."
A fisher who loves their parents. She's like the opposite of me, but that doesn't matter because she's gorgeous and looks strong. She can definitely be useful to my victory.
"Did they give you those dog tags?" I ask, gesturing to Delilah's accessories.
"Those what?" Delilah asks.
"Those dog tags you're wearing," I say, my confusion over Delilah returning.
"Oh," Delilah says, looking down at her dog tags and taking them in her hand to read them. "'Delilah Aberforth. West Shore, District 4. Born April 9th, 3 ADD.' And the other one says 'Anterograde amnesia. Date of onset June 2nd, 19 ADD. Contact Abilene Aberforth.'"
"So you have amnesia," I say, a sinking feeling in my chest.
"I guess so, but I don't remember anything," Delilah says.
"So you wouldn't remember anything if I fucked you right now?" I ask with a pained smirk.
"What the - what the fuck?" Delilah splutters, her face turning red.
"Just kidding, mostly," I say with a shrug. "Wait here, let me get Mags."
"Okay."
I leave the main compartment in annoyance. I don't really want to find Mags - I just want to see if Delilah really is completely useless. But I run into our mentor anyways.
"Hi Lamar," the young woman says with a smile. "I was just on my way to the main compartment. Is Delilah in there?"
"Yes, but I'd like you to watch this," I say.
"Watch what?" Mags says as we walk into the main compartment where Delilah is waiting.
"You can wait here and watch me," I say as I approach Delilah, who is looking confused as ever.
"Hello," Delilah says to me. "Can you tell me where I am?"
"On a train on the way to the Capitol," I answer with a sinking feeling. "You've been Reaped into the Hunger Games."
"Oh," Delilah says with a frown. "I don't remember."
"I know," I said with a sigh. "I was just here talking to you. Do you remember anything I said to you?"
"No, I don't," Delilah says. "Who are you?"
"My name is Lamar," I say. "Wait here. Let me get someone to help you."
"Okay."
I heave a sigh of frustration as I walk back to where Mags is waiting. She approaches me.
"So she has memory problems?" Mags asks.
"Anterograde amnesia, apparently," I say. "It says so on her dog tags, which she doesn't remember getting from anywhere."
"I see," Mags says with a frown. "I'd better keep an eye on her until we reach the Capitol, then."
Oh hell no, I think. "I can do that," I say. "I'll make sure Delilah doesn't get into any trouble."
"I think this is a responsibility I as her mentor must take," Mags says firmly.
Oh come on, I think. I open my mouth to argue because this is ridiculous. I still want to fuck Delilah - even if she has amnesia, she's super hot - and now Mags is in the way.
But I'm in the Hunger Games. If I make my mentor hate me, I'd have less of a chance to win.
"How about Zephyr watches her?" I suggest. "Because aren't you supposed to help me win the Games, too?"
"I think that's a good idea," Mags says slowly with a nod. "Let's bring Delilah to Zephyr and explain what's going on."
"Okay," I say. "He can keep an eye on her and you can give me advice on the Games."
"Good idea," Mags says with a sigh. "Poor girl. She'll have to be under constant supervision."
"Mhm," I murmur. Unfortunately.
My mind races as Mags makes conversation with my District Partner. This sucks, but it's a relatively minor setback because Delilah is just one tribute.
I'll just wait until I reach the Capitol. Then I can make the coalition I need to take on the Careers.
