Still no info on the rest of the pieces, Cain sighed.

He wondered when he would finally be "complete", as he walked through the classroom door.

Tuning the rest of the students out, he made his way to his desk, before drawing out his chair and slumping over the desk, his face flat against the wood surface.

Kuoh Academy was well-known for being one of the best high schools in the country, recognized internationally as a great school. Of course there were shenanigans going on in the background, but he couldn't care less. Afterall, Sera and Zechs wanted the best for their siblings, and attending a "prestigious" school would only help them. Not to mention, going to a good school meant that there would be less "unsavory" type of people on campus.

So the year before Rias and Sona moved to Kuoh, the school security miraculously cracked down on drug dealers, teachers with a criminal past were transferred to different schools, Kuoh Academy received a massive private grant, and the local police received more funding and began to clean the town up.

It just so happened that it was the same time that Sona and Rias decided to move to Japan. Just a coincidence of course.

There were exceptions, of course, such as the Idiot Crew, or whatever they called themselves, but

Cain honestly really couldn't care less. Because, no matter how many hands the Maous greased, and how much money they invested into the school, Kuoh was still a hellhole full of teenagers.

Meaning that while it was good relative to all the other high schools, it still sucked, by virtue of being a high school. A shiny turd still smelled like a turd.

Honestly, he still didn't really know why Serafall was so insistent on enrolling him as a student. Keeping a close eye on Rias and Sona was important, but the fact that he had to enroll as a student was kinda insulting.

There was the mission that she had given him, but it didn't require him being a high school student.

Sure he was technically a middle school dropout, but that was more circumstantial rather than his own choice. And after he had the chance to return to school, he had honestly changed too much to go back.

He laid on the couch, with Serafall cuddling against him, his arms wrapping around her smaller frame, tightly pressing her against him.

He enjoyed these moments, as rare as they were, to simply enjoy her presence. They could sit in silence like this for hours, just relaxing and letting time pass.

Despite the image Serafall gave off, of an airheaded magical girl whose mental stability was questionable at best, Serafall Leviathan was more than met the eye. She was the Head of Forgein Affairs of the Devil faction, the woman who represented the Devils in politically important meetings. That meant that she often had a lot on her plate, juggling relationships with other factions, looking over documents, and soothing any ruffled feathers, wasn't an easy job, so she would often come home tired and drained. Often wanting nothing more than to have dinner and go to sleep.

Today had been a rare day off for Serafall, where she could take a break from all the meetings and political jargon, which was a nice change of pace, one which she decided to spend on a day outside the Underworld with him.

It had been an enjoyable day, exploring the city of London with Sera.

But it was nearly midnight, and he was ready to head off to bed, with the magical girl in his arms.

Serafall lifted her head from Cain's chest, violet orbs staring at Cain, with a certain….. expression on her face.

Cain froze.

Last time the woman had made that face, she had suggested something that he was sure borderlines on a war crime.

Cain acknowledged that dating Serafall was one of the best decisions he had made, there were plenty of upsides that came with dating the Demon King, or rather Queen in this case, but expecting logically sound conversations, sadly, weren't one of them. It was honestly a miracle that he was still sane.

"Cain-kunnn~"

He might've wanted to marry the woman, but goddamn did she scare him.

She stared at him, violet eyes full of joy, with a hint of madness.

"Wanna enroll in So-tan's school?"

He stared at her, did she really think he would say yes?

"No".

A firm, definite, response. Better to shut her down and stand his damn ground before she got too far ahead. Serafall didn't become the head of diplomatic affairs for no reason after all. If he let his guard down and gave her enough time, she could probably talk him into getting into a magical girl costume. Again.

The first time was scarring enough goddammit.

Serafall smiled, before crawling on top of him, straddling his waist. He could feel her lower half pressed firmly against his crotch, gently rocking back and forth.

He could feel himself growing hard. It would be a pleasant night indeed….

"Then no sex for a month!" Serafall chirped, a happy look on her face, paying no attention to the "rod" digging against her privates.

He went limp.

While Cain wasn't the "insatiable beast" that Serafall would often joke about him being, he was still a man. A man who had desires and needs.

Say what you would about Serafall, but her

A month without Serafall's touch…...

Here he was, a man feared by gods and demons alike , yet…..

He sighed.

The witch's plan should have been obvious from the beginning. It was a simple, yet effective plan that no doubt many men in history have fallen prey to.

There was no shame in this right?

It's either this, or the couch. How far was he willing to go for sex, to avoid a month long dry spell?

The sad, depreciating answer was…

Far, VERY far.

"Fine"

"Yayy-"

Serafall's cheer was cut short by the fact that Cain decided to slam his lips against hers, tongue already halfway down her throat, with one hand in her raven locks, and the other exploring her body.

And judging by the sounds that Serafall was making, she was more than happy to let Cain continue.

If he was going to be forced to go back to high school in the next few months, he was gonna enjoy every damn minute he had left here.

Needless to say, neither of them got much sleep that night.

Evil magic girl trapping him with sex.

Cain had no regrets.

The teacher walked in, began the role call, and the class began.

He was honestly bored out of his goddamn mind.

The problem with school was that it had two main purposes. Teaching kids and raising them to become productive members of society. Everything else was secondary.

That was where it fell apart for Cain.

Cain had no goal of becoming a member of mundane society. He would be living in the supernatural side, where nothing the school taught him actually mattered.

Forgein languages were pointless when there was a simple spell developed for communication. Even if there wasn't, many supernatural beings spoke in languages long lost to time, dead languages that it would be surprising if humans knew of them, let alone could speak fluently.

History wasn't actually useless, but rather that it only covered human history. All of the older and powerful factions all started from before human civilization, and oftentimes, the supernatural did have a hand in mundane conflicts, tampering with human history, muddling the truth. Using outdated and heavily altered history to guide your decisions would make you a laughingstalk at best, and potentially cause an international incident at worst.

Plus, most of the goddamn top dogs were old enough to have LIVED through most of human history.

All of the other classes were the same, either pointless due to magic, or were only a fraction of the whole truth, most likely because of supernatural intervention.

Math and science were the two subjects relevant in the Moonlit world that was taught in school.

Math was needed to understand and create magical circles, and many casters who used the human system were often extremely talented in the mathematical field, with higher level math being practically required in order to break into Ultimate Class if one were to develop their magical skills beyond a certain point.

There was a reason why some of the top mathematicians in the world moonlights as magicians afterall.

Science was also extremely important, both in many fields of magic such as alchemy and practical applications of magic, where a basic understanding of science could increase effectiveness

However, both were rather pointless to study when he already had "Wisdom of the Sage". An admittedly rare artifact exclusive to him, but it didn't change the fact that school was quite literally pointless for him.

He blew his hair out of his face, before laying his face on the cold, wooden desk, ignoring the monotonous droning of the teacher.

Just another day he had to wait out.

My eye twitched.

When I heard that Sona had wanted to talk to me about Serafall, I hadn't realized that the rest of her peerage would also be there.

Resting on the very couch that I had sat on this morning, I faced the rest of the Student Council sitting on the opposite side of the table. The tension was honestly palpable.

I have to give Sona credit, if she was trying to pressure me with numbers, the way she set this encounter up was quite creative. Surrounding me with all of her peerage, almost as if it were a hearing in front of a court, peer pressuring me.

I would give it an "A" for effort, but the attempt itself? Laughable at best.

"So what do you wanna talk about?" I drawled.

Sona glared at me, as if it would somehow cow me into submission.

But after seeing how quickly the Student Council President would start blushing in embarrassment and tear up the moment Serafall showed up, any amount of fear I might have felt quickly washed away.

"You know exactly why Cain."

I leaned further back into my chair, idly playing with the string of my eyepatch.

"I have no idea what you mean So-tan."

I took twisted pleasure in the fact that Sona's left eye started twitching the moment I mentioned Serafall's affectionate "nickname", before she forced it down.

"Fine. Why did Serafall decide to send you to Kuoh Academy, after she PROMISED me that she wouldn't interfere with my time on Earth?"

The bespectacled devil narrowed her violet eyes. It was obvious that she was angry. Even someone as emotionally stunted as me could tell

Eh, fair enough. Serafall and Sirzechs did technically promise to leave Sona and Rias alone, though I had assumed that Sona was at least smart enough to realize that it was more of an empty promise rather than anything else.

Leaving two of the Pillar heiresses alone was never an option. Even if both weren't direct family to two of the four Maous, Sona was the ONLY heiress, with no spare. That very fact made her many times more valuable than the average Pillar heir. The one is none and two is one philosophy was very much true.

Rias, who technically had a spare in the form of Millicas, was engaged to a member of the Phenex family, one of the richest Pillars, as well. So she was not only the main focus of one Pillar, but also important to another. Even if she weren't the heiress, she would have an incredible amount of value due to possessing the ability to pass down the Power of Destruction.

They were simply too valuable and important to be left unsupervised. Combine their value alone with the fact that they were the siblings of two overly protective Maous, they were worth their weight in fucking Phenex tears.

Serafall and Zech's mental stabilities could be questionable at times, but they weren't stupid. Leaving the two heriesses alone was downright stupid, more stupid than leaving a mountain of gold unguarded. And that was before factoring in their personal feelings.

Having a 24/7 guard shift was the least that they could expect.

Of course, the argument could be made that Sona and Rias knew this, but they had simply been unable to find proof of their guards, and were happy with this, adopting a "see no evil" approach.

However, when Serafall dropped me into Kuoh Academy for seemingly no reason, their "see no evil" approach had been forcibly shattered. And with Serafall and Sirzechs busy with their jobs, I was the only one that they could confront.

Honestly, the things I did for Serafall.

"Would you believe me if I told you that Serafall is just very interested in my higher education?" I joked.

"I'm not in the mood to joke around Cain." Sona snarled.

Apart from wanting to be "independent", Sona wasn't stupid. What would be so important, that the Maous would decide to send me to Japan, which wasn't exactly a hotspot for supernatural activities. Unlike most of Europe and mainland Asia, there weren't many dangerous factions, or many factions at that, so sending in an Ultimate Class fighter was relatively pointless. In fact, it could even be seen as an act of war, under the right circumstances.

Hell, with relations between the Japanese supernatural and the Devils being so bad, I was surprised that war hadn't broken out yet.

And as egotistical as it might sound, I might be the strongest person residing in the Land of the Sun currently. Meaning for me to be here, Serafall had to do a LOT of work behind the scenes.

I sighed, sitting up, better not to think too hard about that. Politics were never my forte.

Guess I had to own up to it at this point.

Though that did come with its own set of problems.

Annoyance and displeasure clear on my face, with a quick wave of my right arm, I projected the runes necessary to "secure" the area, ensuring that there weren't pesky familiar or whatnots.

Standard procedure for meetings with sensitive information of this level, really.

The runes hovered in the air, glowing, spinning and weaving into intricate patterns, thrumming with power, releasing a gust of wind, before fading away.

Sona's peerage gaped, the amount of magic and finesse that had just taken left the entire room saturated with magical energy. While not exactly special or complicated for an Ultimate class mage, for low and middle class devils, it was a sight to behold, a feat that seemed impossible.

I snapped my finger, bringing their attention.

"Ok, this information doesn't leave the room. And if your siblings find out, it didn't come from me. Capiche?"

Disbelief was clear in her eyes.

"What could you possibly be here for that would warrant this level of privacy?"

I raised my eyebrow. It was clear that I would not speak another word untils she agreed.

Sitting there silently, I was content to let the second tick by.

5 turned to 15, and 15 turned to 60.

And by the three minute mark, when I was ready to leave, she finally conceded.

"Fine. I promise"

"The Three Factions have been considering entering peace talks and Kuoh is one of the cities the three sides are all fine with meeting on, and there are plenty of forces that are trying their best to stop this from happening. I'm here to play warden until the deal irons out."

"You want me to do what now?" I deadpanned, all hints of professionalism gone.

It was quite frankly, incredible.

You would assume that Azazel, the Governor-General of one of the largest factions, would be a bit more careful with his inventions.

Especially when one of them, a machine capable of TAKING AWAY SACRED GEARS, had gone missing. The very fact that such an abomination existed would make many question how it was that God's System failed so spectacularly. And if people started piecing things together, like how there were more and more Sacred Gear users being reincarnated into Devils, the three-way Cold War could actually be revived.

Something that nobody wanted.

The Angels, despite their natural advantage, would get their shit kicked in, with no angel even close to as powerful as the Crimson Lucifer or Ajuka.

The Devils feared an attack by the Old Satan Faction, who would no doubt attempt to try to take the throne. And with the creep Rizevim at the head, the Old Satan Faction had a good chance of actually taking control. Not to mention, while the Devils had the strongest top-tiers, they were outclassed in every other field simply due to the fact that the other two sides wielded powers designed to destroy them.

And the Fallens? They were only slightly better off than the angels due to sheer numbers, but still lacked the punching power of the Devils.

The entire thing would be a shitshow.

No doubt the remaining Archangels would be wiped out, Falbium and Serafall were likely casualties, and the chances of any of the cadres on the Fallen side surviving were slim to none. There was no scenario where it would be anything but a pyrrhic victory for any of the sides, without leaders, all three sides would crumble.

Of course, that was discounting the mind-boggling numbers of bodies that would result from this. Genocide on a nearly unprecedented scale, the war crimes that would be committed, and the amount of general chaos that it would cause…

And if any of the Top 10 decide to go for a MAD option? I would have to find shelter off-planet, an idea that I wasn't too fond of.

And in a war full of walking nukes, safety was never guaranteed.

And of course, the fact that some mooks, under Kokabiel's control, had somehow managed to steal the device, and were planning on using said device to steal a nun's Twilight Healing on Devil territory.

The fact that said mooks had actually succeeded in their endeavor, managing to somehow steal the device, somehow actually managing to smuggle it into Kuoh Town, and have somehow managed to stay somewhat undetected.

The sheer stupidity of the plan, and the fact that it seems as if it would actually work honestly hurt my head.

It was obvious that even Kokabiel didn't expect the heist to actually succeed, as the Cadre Fallen Angel was now willing to lend his forces to the Khaos Brigade if they were willing to send someone to help the mooks out.

The fallen angel had probably hoped for the mooks to die attempting to steal the machine, and use it as grounds to start a civil war within Grigori. Of course, the fact that the far-fetched plan had actually succeeded was even better for the warmonger.

No wonder the man was so desperate to ask the Khaos Brigade for help. It was no secret that the Cadre wanted to start up the Great War, and what better way than to cause an international conflict than a nun's blood being spilled on devil territory by fallens?

And of course, with the "King of Jade" in Kuoh, the chances of the mooks being able to pull off the ritual and the chances of Kokabiel getting the war that he wanted so bad would be impossible.

Damn Cyclop would rip the Fallen mooks apart if he even got a whiff of what was going on.

All it would take would be one slip, something as simple as one of the Fallens' names being revealed, for the bastard to realize what was going on. "Sage's Wisdom" was so difficult to deal with for a reason.

With an ability like that, the one-eyed bastard was the perfect watchdog.

And of course, with the bastard watching over Kuoh…..

The only person in Khaos Brigade who has the time and ability to fight him, would be yours truly.

"End call"

I would have a lot to think about.

End Chapter

This has been sitting in my drive for a while now, but I was trying to write Chapter 3 before I release this one. Which….. I have not finished writing. Been reading some fics and am writing other stories.

No clue when the next chapter of this or Sword -False- are coming out. Probably before the end of the year, but who knows.

Still looking for a beta. Cya.
