WOODS. DEAD WITCHES HOUSE.
His worst nightmare was happening. Kol knew. At least, for now he knew that Kaylah had been alive this whole time. He also knew she's been in a coffin, a dagger through the heart for some amount of time. And quickly enough, she will rise (just like his siblings had), she'll awaken and tell his little brother the whole truth. And Kol would never forgive him... For all these years Klaus had tried so hard to keep his baby brother under control, to keep him away from harm, protecting him sometimes even from himself; and deep down he knew that loosing magic and Kaylah had taken a tool on him but he could've recovered, right? Had he simply tried he could've-
His thoughts were cut short as Kol's voice echoed again, abnormally low and calm. "You owe me some explaining, Niklaus, don't you think?" He knew his brother enough to see the rage swirling in his dark eyes. "Why the bloody hell is my wife's body in one of your dirty coffin, a dagger through the heart?"
"Your wife?" Damon repeated in surprise. He hadn't seen that one coming.
None of the brothers spared him a glance. Kol's dark eyes stuck onto his older brother.
Klaus raised his hands up in surrender, in the vain hope that he'd understand he didn't want to fight him. He just needed a bit more time, yeah, time. To figure out what to say, to beg her not to breathe a word about it, to- to calm him down. To make him understand he did this for him, for their relationship, not to loose him but the words wouldn't pass through his lips so he said absolutely
"This is family business, brother." He start softly, carefully. "I understand your shock, and I will explain everything to you, but I think it's mostly time to take her home."
"She's one of us, isn't she?" He could see he was struggling to remain calm and was about to explode. "She wasn't dead. For all this time, you knew she wasn't dead."
He's known for a millennium but he couldn't exactly tell him that, could he?
"Kol-"
Klaus tried but before he could even formulate a constructed sentence, Kol threw him across the room. The Original passing through the wall, grunting as he harshly hit the ground, head first, in the next room. He closed his eyes for a short second, before he lift himself up on his elbow, trying to get up again. Niklaus loved his little brother-his family-more than they'd ever know but that didn't mean he wouldn't show that little prick who was the oldest brother here and hit back. It didn't matter that he may have a legitimate reason to lash out, Klaus wouldn't allow him to beat him up nonetheless. He'd teach Kol his place.
But before he could manage to do just that the youngest Mikaelson was in front of him again, his delicate traits disfigured with rage as he kicked him harshly in the side, sending him flying backwards again. He zapped in front of him and sent a kick into his face. Klaus' head harshly hit the ground, blood pooling into his mouth. He spit it out, violence never did work well with Kol.
"I would've told you!" Klaus shouts as he threw him off him again, but it did no good as Kol came back charging. He even managed to pin him against the wooden wall, trying to strangle him, his knuckles turning white from squeezing his throat. Klaus gasped, needing all of his strength to push back on him; apparently rage was giving him wings because he couldn't fully push back. "I simply wanted to get the coffin back before, that is all...!"
"You're lying to me!" Kol snapped, pushing back. "How long have you had her under your thumb, you bloody bastard?!"
The youngest male stopped insisting and punched him in the face, blood dripping down Klaus' nose (seemingly broken taken the odd angle it took) as he send yet another punch in his brother's stomach; Klaus folded in two due to the force of the hit, air caught in his throat for a second - Kol clearly wasn't holding back. He was out for blood. "Purposely keeping her away from me! She was the only light of my life! How could you do this to me?! What were trying to hide?!"
Klaus gasped before he finally managed to break free of his brother's firm hold, violently pushing him off. Kol stumbled lightly and went to face him again, trying punch him, aiming for the face but this time Klaus stopped his hand. He hit back and threw him off his feet. Kol's body hit the ground in a loud thud before he growled, zapping back up on his feet.
"Will you bloody listen to me?!" Klaus shouted, before cracking his nose back in place. "I found her, alright? She was outraged, acting like some bloody animal!"
Kol stopped in his tracks, narrowing his eyes at him. Klaus pointed the previous room they were in as to press his claim. "You saw the dry blood onto her clothes, didn't you? She was out of her mind! Killing everything and anything at hand's reach. She didn't even recognize me. Didn't speak. She was like an animal-"
"Stop calling her that!" Kol snapped. "It's my wife you're talking about!"
"Fine! It's like-like she was possessed, I didn't have another choice but to dagger her! I was seeking a cure for her before telling you all. I didn't wanted you to see her like this!"
Kol stayed quiet, looking at his brother. He was lying, wasn't he? Kaya wasn't like that. Sure enough, vampirism could turn the softest sheep into the deadliest wolf but not his Kaya. Right?
Klaus remained on his guard as he watched his brother's interior conflict, walking back and forth a few feet away from him. Had he believed him? He nearly believed himself. That story will do for now. Then he'd have to go to great length to make sure it remains the one and only story there is to tell.
