Bella lay on the exam table. The pack's doctor was a Dr. Laughlin, Josette. She was a witch, but she helped supernatural pregnancies because she was trusted. She was a beautiful woman, dark hair, and brilliant slate eyes, that seemed to swallow you. She was pleasant and nice, and Bella really did like her.

"Alright, go ahead and lift your shirt." Josette said, her voice still airy, and sweet. Emmett stood with Bella in the exam room, his hand was tucked in Bella's, but he released it when she pulled her shirt up. He took her h and again, while Josette took the wand to the machine and started swirling it around over Bella's belly, with jelly. He watched the monitor as the grey and black images appeared on the screen. Bella was watching too, almost holding her breath as she watched the screen, nervous, and anticipating seeing the baby for the first time. They tried to do some math, and at the very least she was 9 weeks pregnant, but at the most, she could be 14 or 16 weeks, because that was from the first time, they ever were intimate with each other.

Josette stopped and typed something and took some measurements. "So, here is the heartbeat, and the sac for one." She said, indicating on the screen. She then moved over to another blip. "And number two. Heartbeat and sac."

"What does that mean?" Emmett asked.

"Twins. Fraternal." Josette said with a smile. "You are about 12 weeks. Or that is what the measurement is showing, but with you both being wolves, you're likely 10 weeks. We'll get some blood, run it, get your levels."

Bella was staring at the screen. "Twins?"

"Yes. This is rare. I have never seen a twin birth amongst wolves." Josette said with a nod.

Emmett looked at Bella, taking her hand in his, squeezing it lightly. "Everything looks okay?"

"Yes, perfectly healthy. Of course, it's higher risk, but we can monitor everything. Looks like you're due December." Josette said. "But of course, twin births typically come early, so you're looking at around the late part of November, early December."

Bella swallowed and nodded. Josette printed the images and helped Bella lean up, handing her the pictures. "Thanks."

"No problem. The nurse will take some blood, and then you two can go. I want to see you in here again in two more weeks." Josette left Bella and Emmett alone.

Bella looked at the image of the twins that Bella was carrying. "Twins." She murmured.

Emmett smiled and then leaned over and kissed the top of her head and she leaned against him, his arms circling her. It was always a comfort for him to be here.

[4 months later]

The announcement of Bella's pregnancy spread, and it was even celebrated. She was the first wolf to ever be pregnant with twins. At the last doctor's appointment, they found out they were having twin girls. Something that frightened Emmett, but he was just as nervous and scared as Bella was, bringing two lives into the world.

"Girls are so special." Caroline said as she walked through the Target in Mckinney with Bella. Bella was showing now, being 25 weeks pregnant now. She was doing great, and had hardly any nausea or complication since the first trimester, and she was feeling the girls move around a lot.

"I don't know. I think Emmett is dreading having two daughters because then he's really going to be outnumbered in the house." Bella joked. She looked at a few things. She had grown accustomed to being dragged through shopping places by now, and now she really did enjoy it for looking at baby things. She was excited for the girls to finally get there. She had 12 more weeks until Josette wanted to induce since the girls were measuring pretty big. The manor already was prepped with the nursey, compliments of Caroline and Elena. Elena was really sweet, and Bella really did like her. Sometimes being friends with Caroline was exhausting, and with Elena being a wolf too, it made things easier for Caroline's energy to go between more people, than just her.

Caroline picked up a frilly pink dress that said daddy's princess on it, and then went awwww and showed it to Bella before putting two of them in the cart. "You're going to match them all the time right? Twin girls are so precious. Oh I hope me and Ty have a girl too when our time comes." She nearly squealed.

Bella chuckled a little at her best friend. "I don't know. I want them to have their own identities. When they're babies, it's cute, but as they get older, I want them to be themselves."

Caroline smiled. "That's true too. Oh, you're so wise." She said, and then found some more onesies that looked cute and put them in her cart.

They spent way too much money in Target, and bought way too much stuff, but by the time they checked out, Bella's feet were just killing her. The one thing about pregnancy that she didn't like, was that she did get swollen feet, but Emmett would massage her feet for her when she got home.

Caroline parked at the manor, and then Tyler and Jasper were coming out, helping get the bags out of the car.

"Jesus babe, did you buy the entire store?"

Jasper smiled. "This shouldn't be a surprise anymore Ty." He said and hefted bags inside.

Caroline only giggled, and then helped Bella inside. Sometimes it was hard to get up from sitting low, and Caroline's car was smaller than Emmett's truck and Bella's Jeep by far. But then she had a hard time stepping up into things as well, so the car was the lesser of two evils.

Emmett came out of his office, Damon walking with him in the same stride, talking about something, and then stopped when they saw Bella.

Bella saw more of Damon lately because he was on the council, even though it was against his will. After Emmett and her did the union ceremony at the Summit and marked each other, she had no pull to Damon at all, which is how it should be. Damon didn't have any feelings for her either way, so it didn't matter to him. He was very casual about the ordeal. Now that he was being forced from his cave, he was grumpier, but tried not to be when around Bella or Emmett, because he was at least trying.

"Should you be on your feet?" Damon asked, looking at how tired she was.

"Exercise is good for the babies." Caroline chimed in.

Damon rolled his eyes and looked to Emmett. "I'll see you later. I have to be in Louisiana by midnight." He said, and then fist bumped Emmett before heading out.

"What's in Louisiana?" Bella asked.

"Pack of rogue wolves. They want to become their own pack and be recognized by the council." Emmett said. "Something simple and part of council duty."

Bella nodded, and then winced a little as one of the girls moved and seemed to stomp down on Bella's bladder.

"Are you okay?" Emmett asked immediately, noticing the discomfort on her face.

"Yeah, they're just stretching their legs is all. Let's not worry." Bella said and smiled, rubbing a hand over her belly.

Caroline smiled and then looked to Emmett. "I am going to go put away everything we bought today." She said and left Bella and Emmett alone.

Emmett went to Bella, his hands going to her belly, rubbing over her gently. "Are you sure you're okay?" He murmured gently.

"I'm fine. Just them stretching. They're growing and running out of room. So you know." She smiled. "Three more months." She said, and then tilted her face up and he leaned down and kissed her.

"Three more months." He murmured back.

[3 months later]

Josette looked at the monitor. She was watching the contractions as Bella lay there, seemingly unaffected by the pain that she should be feeling. "Hmm. Still nothing?" She asked, as the screen displayed the peak point of her contraction.

Bella shook her head. "Just some tightening, but nothing painful. Not normal?"

"Well. No. I'm thinking one of the twins is positioned on one of your nerves and is compressing it. That's why, your right leg has been giving you that tingling feeling." Josette said.

"Is there anything we can do?" Emmett asked.

Josette shook her head. "No. It's fine, I was just surprised that there was no pain, or enough pain. You're dilated to 8 and will be pushing here likely in the next hour or two." She said.

"So soon? We just got here not long ago." Bella said.

"Well, you've likely been in labor all day." Josette said with a smile. "Either way, the girls will be here soon."

Bella smiled and looked at Emmett, his hand squeezing hers lightly. "We can't wait."

Caroline made it to the hospital, carrying balloons, and pink stuffed unicorns for the girls. "I didn't miss it did I?"

"No." Josette chuckled. "You shouldn't be stressing or worrying. You're still in your first trimester." She pointed out.

Last month, Caroline and Tyler managed to get pregnant, and it was still very early. Caroline hadn't been feeling any sickness, and they were worried about it not sticking, so she was taking lots of vitamins, and trying to take it easy.

"I know, I'm not stressed out. I just didn't want to miss the birth of my godnieces." Caroline said with a smile. She set the balloons and unicorns down. "Your mom said that she loves you, and she's going to try and get here, but Jake and Juliet are-"

"I know." Bella said, smiling at her friend. "I know the drill. Thanks for being here."

Caroline went to Bella, taking her hand in hers. "Of course. I wouldn't miss it for the world."

Emmett smiled. Caroline was a little too neurotic for him, but he liked how she was always there for Bella, no matter what.

After a couple hours, Bella was feeling the pain as she bore down to push the first twin out, her hands gripping Emmett and Caroline's hand tight as she pushed when Josette instructed.

"That's it, Bella. One more push and she's here." Josette coaxed, and then was catching the first baby as Bella pushed. Screams filled the air immediately, and a nurse helped wrap the dark-haired screaming wolf in a blanket while Emmett cut the cord like Josette instructed.

The nurse took the baby to the scale, weighing her and measuring her. "7 pounds, 2 ounces, 19 inches long." She announced and the baby was still screaming so loud, which was like music to their ears.

Two minutes later, the other twin girl made her appearance, not as loud as her sister, but she had dark hair as well, and she weighed 7 pounds, and 6 ounces and was 20 inches long.

Bella and Emmett cradled their daughters close to them after the nurse got them cleaned up, and Josette got Bella situated. It was a miracle. One that none of them would forget.

Gaia Lynn McCarty and Leia Marie McCarty were perfect. Their eyes were a deep shade of blue that Bella and Emmett knew would ultimately change to brown, but they were beautiful. The perfect combination of both Emmett and Bella.

Two twin wolves, born right on the full moon, strengthened the bond of the blood line that dated back to the earliest wolves. Bella would never have imagined this would be her life, and now it was, and she couldn't be happier. She was proud of what she was and who she was, and she couldn't ask for anything better. Emmett wasn't looking for a mate, when he was sent to Mystic Falls to stay. He was just following the rules of the pack, and he listened to the council when they wanted to ship him here to take over. He thought that he wasn't ready for that sort of leadership, but he was more than capable. He had a family now, one that he would always protect. Even the Cullen's who returned to the area after some time, vowed to protect the twins. They were a strong ally, but one that Emmett kept his distance from because vampires and wolves just didn't mix, but he was thankful for their loyalty.

He had everything that he needed and much more. His soulmate. His love. His…. Bella.
