The gang were walking through a forest, when Ember noticed a sign.
"Hey look," she said, "This sign says 'Beware of ghost Pokémon and use a Psychic-type for your protection'. Well that's handy because I've got my Girafarig and my two Espurr's with me."
Misty sighed in relief, "I'm glad you do, Ember. I don't want a lot of ghost Pokémon surrounding me." She shuddered at the mention of ghost Pokémon.
"You really don't like Ghost-type Pokémon huh?" Ember asked.
"They're just as worse as bug Pokémon." Misty groaned.
Ember, Tesla, and Brock sighed at that. Then Ember released Psyche from her Pokéball.
"Brin!" Psyche appeared and licked her trainer's face.
Ember giggled and petted Psyche on her head, "Good to see you too Psyche. Listen, there are Ghost-type Pokémon in this forest and we need your help to fight them off, okay?" She questioned.
Psyche nodded, understanding. Suddenly some bushes started to rustle.
Misty yelped, "What's that? Please don't let it be a Ghost type Pokémon."
Ember slowly crept forward to see, when a brown head suddenly shot up in the bushes, the gang yelped and backed away in surprise.
Ember frowned, "Hang on a second, that's a tail of a Girafarig."
"That's correct." A young female voice spoke up, stepping out from the bush. It was a girl with purple hair. Ember recognized her as Cherry.
"Who are you?" Misty asked.
"My name is Cherry and that Girafarig in the bushes is mine." Cherry introduced herself.
Cherry's Girafarig came out of the bushes.
"Brin Brin." Cherry's Girafarig came out from the bush.
The gang introduced themselves to Cherry. Cherry noticed Ember's Girafarig.
Cherry smiled, "I like your Girafarig, Ember." She complimented.
Ember smiled back, "Thank you, Cherry."
"Bri." Psyche smiled.
"Do you have any other Psychic-type Pokémon?" Cherry asked, curiously.
"Yes I do, I have an Espeon, Delphox, Alakazam, and two Espurr's as well." Ember said, not mentioning Keiko.
Cherry's eyes shined, "Wow Ember. I wish to have an Espeon as well in the future. Maybe some other Psychic-type Pokémon from other regions."
"You really love Psychic-type Pokémon, don't you Cherry?" Misty asked.
"Yes," Cherry nodded, "Actually everyone in Len Town, where I live love Psychic-type Pokémon."
Brock looked up Len Town in the map book, "Ah, it's says here that in Len Town, everyone keeps a Psychic-type Pokémon." He read.
"That's right. It's also a tradition for everyone in Len Town to have a Psychic-type Pokémon. Ghost Pokémon who have lived in these woods for over hundred of years. So we raise Psychic Pokémon, so that the ghost Pokémon wouldn't cause any trouble." Cherry explained.
Ember understood that. Her Gengar and Morgana were a bit of pranksters. Prof. Oak sometimes calls her to complain about a certain prank those two pulled. He really didn't like getting caught in their pranks.
Cherry joined the gang for lunch in the woods.
"Are you a trainer yet, Cherry?" Ember asked.
Cherry shook her head, "I'm a trainer, but I'm not traveling on a journey yet. You see my dream is to win the Johto League and become a Psychic Pokémon Master." She said.
"Do you intend to only catch Psychic type Pokémon?" Misty asked.
"Yes I do," Cherry replied, "The truth is I like Psychic Pokémon very much."
Ember chuckled. Cherry was a bit like Misty, but with Psychic Pokémon instead of water Pokémon.
"Why haven't you started to travel yet, Cherry?" Brock asked, curiously.
"Well you see, I want to train as much as I can." Cherry replied.
"Train?" Misty asked, confused.
"They say that Psychic Pokémon and their trainer can communicate their thoughts and feelings psychically." Cherry explained.
"Like Sabrina." Ember said.
"Huh?" Cherry blinked in confusion.
"Sabrina Natsume is the Gym Leader of Saffron City in Kanto and she's a Psychic expert. She can communicate her thoughts and feelings to her Pokémon." Ember explained, seeing the confused look, "I just recently found out that I'm a Psychic myself."
She could never forget that phone call to the Saffron Gym leader.
Flashback Start:
Ember was at a Pokémon Center one afternoon. She decided to change the Pokémon on her team and sent a few of them to Prof. Oak. Then she decided to call Sabrina about the strange things that had happened to her lately. She used her Rotom phone to call Sabrina. Soon enough, she appeared on the phone with her Alakazam.
"Hey Sabrina." Ember greeted.
["Hello Ember, it's been a while hasn't it?"] Sabrina greeted back.
"It has. Listen, there's something I need to ask you." Ember stated.
["What is it?"] Sabrina asked.
Ember explained the strange things that had happened when she was in Bark Town, Catallia City, and Azalea Town. Also her encounter with Falkner's Bird Pokémon, Pele, and Yoru.
["I see,"] Sabrina closed her eyes and blue energy outlined her body and then she opened her eyes, ["I can sense that you have psychic powers, Ember."]
"What?" Ember asked with wide eyes.
["Somehow your powers awakened. It's possible that an encounter with a powerful Psychic Pokémon is the cause of that."] Sabrina explained.
Ember remembered the time at New Island when she was hit by Keiko and Mewtwo's Psychic attacks.
"Are you sure?" Ember asked.
["I'm positive, Ember. Maybe when you're done with your journey in the Johto region, you can come to Saffron City to learn about controlling your powers."] Sabrina offered.
"I would be glad to learn from you, Sabrina." Ember accepted.
["I'm glad. Good luck on your next gym battle."] Sabrina said before she hung up.
Flashback End
"Wow! Really?" Cherry asked, excited.
"We were surprised as well." Misty commented.
Ember nodded, "Yeah, I hope to learn more from her after my Johto journey is over."
Cherry smiled, brightly, "I want to meet her one day." She said. "And maybe she can give some tips."
"I'm sure she'll be glad too." Ember smiled.
After lunch, they cleaned up and packed up their supplies and equipment.
"I'll show you around Len Town." Cherry said.
Cherry had just brought Ember and the gang to Len Town. The gang was amazed with what they saw in Len Town; there was psychic Pokémon everywhere. There was Abra and its evolutions Kadabra and Alakazam, Drowzee, Hypno and Mr. Mime. There were also Pokémon that were part psychic type; like Exeggcute and Exeggutor, who were grass and psychic type, and a Slowpoke, which was a water and psychic type.
"Wow, in all my life, I haven't seen so many Psychic-type Pokémon in one place." Ember said.
"You certainly weren't kidding when you said that everyone here has a psychic type Pokémon Cherry." Brock commented.
Cherry giggled, "That's right and this way Ghost Pokémon won't give us any trouble." She said.
"... Lp!"
Tesla's ears twitched, "Rai?"
"... ELP!"
"HELP!" A male voice was heard. "Somebody help!"
"What's going on?" Misty questioned.
Suddenly the man who was yelling for help, came running through the village, exhausted. "Help! Somebody!"
The gang went up to the man.
"What's going sir?" Cherry asked.
"It's gigantic!" The man exclaimed.
"Huh?" The gang and Cherry all had a confused expression.
"What's gigantic?" Ember asked.
"A Ghost Pokémon that is vulnerable to Psychic attack!"
"Huh?" The gang and Cherry gasped.
The man took a deep breath, "I was fishing with Mr. Mime, when this giant Gengar appeared and I had my Mr. Mime attack it with Psywave, but that Gengar reflected the attack back at us." He gasped, "And then it used its long tongue to trap Mr. Mime inside itself. So I have now lost my Mr. Mime."
"This doesn't seem right. I mean how could a Gengar become that big?" Brock thought.
"Unless it's a giant Pokémon." Ember pointed out. "But a Ghost-type Pokémon can't use Mirror Coat or Reflect."
Just then a woman came up, "Help! My Abra was taken by a giant Gengar!" She exclaimed.
"Another one." Cherry gasped.
"We attacked it, but Psychic attacks are useless against that giant Gengar." The woman took a deep breath, "And it's coming this way."
The giant Gengar soon arrived in the village.
"Look at that!" Brock gawked.
Everyone in Len Town, with their Psychic Pokémon all ran away, to hide from the giant Gengar at once. But Cherry and the gang stayed.
"Giant Gengar or not, we can't let that thing get away of kidnapping Pokémon." Cherry declared.
"But that giant Gengar looks fake. Too fake." Ember said, then she remembered that it wasn't real. "It's not real, it's a robot!" She confirmed, "If I had to take a guess, that's Team Rocket operating it."
"Huh?" Cherry, Misty, and Brock gasped at that information.
"AHAHAHAHAHAHAH!" Laughter was heard from the giant Gengar and Team Rocket appeared.
"What are you three up to now?" Misty demanded.
"Well, if you must know twerps, we wish to capture every Psychic-type Pokémon in this town." James answered.
Jessie smirked, "That's right, these Psychic Pokémon will help us control all humans and Pokémon and help us dominate the world." She announced.
"Meh?!" James yelped, "Dominate the world? I thought we were going to use them to entertain our cruise ships!"
"What!" Cherry was mad when she heard Team Rocket's plan.
"Ahahaha! Thanks to our giant Gengar and it's glass mirror eyes, catching the Psychic-type Pokémon is going to be a piece of cake." Meowth stated, proudly.
"I get it. The Psychic Pokémon attacks got bounced off because of the mirrors in the giant Gengar eyes. That's a clever idea." Brock explained.
"Excuse me Brock, but who's side are you on?" Misty asked, disbelief.
"Never mind. If they think that's going to stop us then they are so wrong," Ember declared, "Psyche, Tesla let's do this!" Her two Pokémon nodded together.
"Raichu!" Tesla jumped off her trainer's shoulder, ready.
"Briii!" Psyche nodded, ready.
"We'll help." Cherry said.
Cherry's Girafarig nodded, as it stood beside Psyche.
"Girafarig use Future Sight." Cherry commanded.
"Bri!" Cherry's Girafarig's eyes glowed blue.
Ember smiled; she knew exactly what future sight was. Future sight was a psychic type move that attacked the opponent a few moments later, like a surprise.
"Okay, watch for out for that giant Gengar's Lick Attack." Cherry said. "Dodge it!"
And when Cherry warned them, Team Rocket did released the giant Gengar's tongue, Tesla and the two Girafarig were able to dodge it easily.
Meowth gawked.
James gasped, "No way! That twerp actually knew that we were coming with our giant Gengar tongue." He said, flabbergasted.
"Try again!" Jessie exclaimed.
Team Rocket tried their tongue again, but the Pokémon kept on dodging it, again and again.
"But, how?" Brock questioned.
"I heard about the Future Sight seconded ability but never got to see one." Ember spoke up.
"A second ability?" Misty asked.
"Future Sight has a second ability that allows the user and occasionally its trainer to see into the future." Ember explained.
Brock and Misty were surprised and flabbergasted to hear that.
"Break that Gengar with an Iron Tail, Tesla!" Ember ordered.
"Rai!" Tesla jumped dodging the tongue and she spun, with her tail glowing metallic color, she slammed an Iron Tail onto the giant Gengar's back, breaking container that was holding Abra and Mr. Mime.
"Abra Ab." The psi Pokémon said.
"Mr. Mime Mr. Mime!" The barrier Pokémon said, happy to be free.
Abra immediately use Teleport to teleport itself back to it owner and Mr. Mime immediately ran back to it owner also.
"Oh dear Abra! You're back!" The woman hugged her Pokémon when it appeared in her arms.
"Mr. Mime!" The man hugged his Pokémon.
"Nice work. Tesla, Psyche use Thunder." Ember ordered.
Tesla and Psyche fired a Thunder attack, hitting the giant Gengar.
"AHHHHHH!" Team Rocket screamed out in pain, with smoke coming from their body.
"... ... ...It's time." Cherry said, her voice was echoed.
Ember stopped her attack.
"Rai!" Tesla landed on the back of Psyche.
"Bri!" Psyche said.
Everyone felt the wind blow by.
After time had passed when Cherry's Girafarig had used Future Sight, the wind blew strongly and a sphere of rainbow colored energy came out of nowhere and struck the crispy giant Gengar and Team Rocket.
"GAHHH!" Team Rocket screamed out in pain.
BOOM! BLAST! The giant Gengar exploded.
"That was Future Sight?" Meowth asked, confused.
"Why didn't I see it coming?" Jessie whined.
"Now we're going." James trailed off.
"TEAM ROCKET IS BLASTING OFF AGAIN!" Team Rocket shouted out as they flew through the sky and into the distance.
"WOBAA!" Wobbuffet screamed as well.
Cherry sighed in relief, "Glad that's over." She said.
"That was a great Future Sight attack, Cherry." Ember complimented.
"Bri Bri." Cherry's Girafarig agreed.
"We did it, Girafarig! We connected psychically!" Cherry beamed.
"Congratulations." Brock congratulated her.
"It must be we're getting closer than ever." Cherry smiled.
"Bri!" Cherry's Girafarig mewed agreeing.
Ember and Tesla smiled at the two. She knew that Cherry will be a great Psychic Pokémon master.
"Rai Raichu Rai? (Do you think they'll get even stronger?)" Tesla asked.
"I know they will." Ember replied.
Soon enough, the gang said goodbye to Cherry and left Len Town.
"Next time we see Cherry might be at the Johto League Championship." Brock stated.
"Watch out, Ember. She's going to be tough." Misty warned in an amused tone.
"I know. That makes her a great rival. We'll be ready, right Tesla?" Ember turned to Tesla on her shoulder.
"Raichu! (Right!)" Tesla smiled.
Ember and her friends are now headed off towards their next adventure.
