Today, the gang begin an unforgettable adventure as they approach an intriguing landmark in the far reaches of the Johto Region.
Ember looked ahead and saw a canyon. The gang ran ahead and stopped to see the great landmark.
"Wow." Ember and Misty awed.
"Purity Canyon, the Johto Region Greatest Natural Wonder." Brock said.
"Soooo, how do we get across it?" Ember asked.
"Well, it's says here it's impossible on foot and the only way to get across it is by bus." Brock answered and then he frowned, "Oh no."
"Oh no? What oh no?" Misty asked.
"The bus that comes here only makes a trip once a month and it leaves today." Brock replied.
"What? No offence, but we don't want to wait here for a month." Ember said.
"We better go now if we want to be able to catch it." Brock said.
The gang ran down the path, hoping they would catch the bus before it left. Rain started to pour down at that time and it was heavy.
"Rai/Pika!" Tesla and Levina whined at the rain.
When the gang got to the bus stop, they saw a woman there wearing a pink rain coat.
Ember walked up to the woman, "Excuse me, but has the bus that goes to Purity Canyon arrived here yet?" She asked.
The woman gave her a small smile with a sorry expression, "I'm afraid that you all just missed it." She replied.
"Oh great," Ember groaned, "Now what are we supposed to do?"
"Is there anyway to cross the mountain?" Misty asked.
"Not when the weather becomes like this. The wind and rain are treacherous here and the road becomes incredibly dangerous." The woman answered with a serious expression on her face, "It's harder enough to make it on bus, on foot you don't have a chance."
"This is a problem." Brock said.
The woman smiled and looked towards her log cabin, "Why don't we get out of this rain?" She questioned.
The gang blinked and nodded.
Ember knew that this mountain was where Mewtwo and his cloned Pokémon lived. She would have to be prepared when Giovanni shows up. Even though she should stop him, but Mewtwo would come first before Giovanni.
Back at the log cabin, the woman introduced herself as Luna Carson and explained that she was a biologist and studied Pokémon habitats.
"The company that built this log cabin about ten years ago, people who misses the bus, stays here till the next one comes around in a month." Luna explained.
Ember groaned as she took a sip of the tea Luna made for them, "Luna, is there anyway to cross Purity Canyon? I don't mean to sound impatient but I don't want to stay here for a month to catch the bus." She said.
"Well, you could take a canoe ride down Purity River at the base of the canyon and get across the valley that way." Luna suggested.
"Wow I would love to take a canoe ride down there, Luna. My family runs a water Pokémon gym and I just I love being around water." Misty beamed.
"Uh excuse me Misty," Ember interrupted, "You wouldn't like this canoe ride."
"Why?" Misty asked.
"Because lots of bug Pokémon live down Purity River and they're said to be the guardians of Purity Canyon and Mount Quena." Brock replied.
"Oh some bugs won't stop me down on the river." Misty declared, confidently.
"Yes it would, Misty. Every time we do see bug Pokémon, even by any lakes or streams, you would scream like a maniac and run to get away from them. Don't forget about that time in the Orange Islands when we saw some Caterpie by a pond, you ran away from them like crazy." Ember stated.
"Yeah and that time in Kanto when we were near a stream you ran away from some Paras and Venonat. And not long ago you ran away from a lake because some Metapod and Kakuna were living in a tree." Brock added.
"Okay, okay I've got your point." Misty grumbled, who didn't like being reminded of those times.
"It may be best that you don't go down Purity River then," Luna suggested, "but since you do like water Misty, I will introduce you to the water we have here."
When the rain stopped and the sun is out and shinning brightly, Luna led the gang outside, towards the balcony.
Luna led a bucket down to the stream next to the log cabin and lifted it out again and then she filled a metal cup full of water from the bucket.
"Have a drink Brock." Luna offered the metal cup.
Brock took the metal cup and took a sip from it, "Um. This water is absolutely delicious! This is the most devastating delicious drink I have ever encountered!" He anime cried and had a weird smile on his face, after trying the water.
"Hey, I wanna try some, too!" Misty grabbed Brock's mug, takes a sip, and stars appeared in her eyes, "Aaahh! It makes me feel refreshingly alive and tingly!"
Ember was really curious now, she took the metal cup from Misty and took a drink, "Incredible, this water feels like it cleansed your soul." She said.
Then she handed Tesla, Levina, and Togepi some of the water. All of their eyes brighten up.
"Raichu!"
"Pikapi!"
"Togi Togi Togephriii!"
They all said, dreamily.
"It looks like they like it." Ember said, amused.
"Maybe we can go over Mount Quena to leave Purity Canyon." Brock thought.
Luna shook her head, "Oh no, you can't do that." She rejected the idea.
"How come?" Misty questioned.
"Mount Quena is the highest mountain in the whole Johto Region. At the top of the mountain is Clarity Lake, it's goes on miles and miles and the water is incredibly clean and clear, it's beautiful." Luna answered as she looked up at the mountain, "But humans could never live there. The height of the mountain and the weather even keeps visitors away. The only ones that live up there are some wild Pokémon, ones that can thrive in the extreme conditions."
Ember then got an idea, "Maybe our Pokémon can help?"
"That might work." Misty agreed.
"Raichu Rairai!" Tesla smiled as she looked towards the moon.
The gang and Luna looked up towards the night sky and saw a flock of Butterfree.
"Wow, it's a flock of Butterfree's." Ember smiled.
"Pika!" Levina smiled.
"Some people says that Butterfree's came to lay their eggs on Mount Quena." Luna commented.
"Togi Togi!" Togepi smiled.
"I would sure like to see were those Butterfree's are headed." Brock spoke up.
KNOCK KNOCK!
"Good morning!" A female voice called out from the outside.
"Um." The gang and Luna looked towards the door.
"Hello?" Luna said.
"A visitor?" Ember questioned.
"At this hour?" Misty questioned.
Luna opened the door, revealing a young female and a male.
"I said 'good morning' cause even it's after midnight, if I say 'goodnight' you might go to bed." The female said, cheerfully.
"Huh?" Luna blinked in confusion.
"We hate to bother you, but we've been doing some exploring and needed a place to spend the night." The male explained. "Oh by the way, my name is Cullen Calix."
Luna was surprised, "I know that name. You're the famous researcher in Professor of Medicine." She said.
Cullen nodded, "Yes and if my guess is correct you're Luna Carson." He smiled, "I've read dozen of your research paper on Pokémon. It's a real pleasure to meet you in person."
"Please come in." Luna said.
Cullen and the teen girl walked in.
"Oh wow, I can't believe I'm meeting the Luna Carson. I'm like totally off the hook fan of yours. I wanna be exactly like you when I get old." The female said, very cheerfully.
Luna sweat dropped, "... Great... And you are who?" She asked, wide eyes.
"This is Domino, she works for the Pokémon Institute." Cullen introduced his friend.
"Hi everybody!" Domino cheerfully waved at them all.
Ember raised an eyebrow at the girl named Domino, her personality seems odd. But she knew who this girl really was. She had to admit that her so called cheerfulness was just plain weird.
Brock suddenly appeared in front of Domino kneeling down, "Oh, Domino, what a beautiful name. So black and white, yet so playful," He took Domino's hands and stood in front of her, "Please, let's find a quiet spot to line up and find out if we're a match."
Domino sweat dropped.
Misty grabbed Brock by the ear and pulled him away, "Haven't you learned by now that you shouldn't play if you can't win?"
"Ow, ow, ow!" Brock grunted in pain.
Ember and Tesla sighed.
"I'm afraid I have some bad news. The bus won't be bad in another month." Luna said.
"Oh, I didn't come here to take the bus. I came to study the water." Cullen replied.
Luna blinked, "The water?"
"Yes. I've been studying the purity river for some time now and I've discovered that it's water contains a number if rare minerals that have the amazing effect on both Pokémon and human volunteers." Cullen explained as he took out a small vile that contains the water, "Here's a sample I took today. I came here to explore Mount Quena and unravel the secret of this miraculous water."
"That's too bad." Luna spoke, sadly.
"Huh?" Cullen looked at Luna and he was shocked.
Luna looked upset, "If the water does heal people, they'll come here from all over the world, thousands of visitors will start coming to Mount Quena, Purity Canyon. They might accidentally destroy the very thing they are looking for." She explained.
Ember had to agree with Luna. There are times when humans would accidentally destroy the thing they've been looking. Not to mention that it would bring some bad consequences as well. But some people just don't realize that. As Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider had said, 'Some things were not meant to be found'.
"I see what you mean." Cullen said.
Luna then looked a bit happy, "Then again, Mount Quena is practically impossible to get to." She smiled.
CRACK CRACK CRACK!
Suddenly, firecrackers went off in the cabin. Everyone turned around and saw Team Rocket. They announced their motto.
"Team Rocket!" The gang exclaimed.
"What on earth do you three want?" Brock asked.
"Today's the day we capture your Raichu and Pikachu!" Jessie announced.
"Huh!" Ember scoffed, "You never succeed."
James smirked, "Don't bet on it twerp. Go, electricity absorbing wire!" He used a wire rope and grabbed the two electric mouse Pokémon.
"Pikachu!" Levina struggled in Meowth's hold.
"Raichu!" Tesla struggled in James's hold.
"Tesla! Levina!" Ember called out, "Give them back Team Rocket!"
"Not a chance twerp. James, Meowth, it's time to depart!" Jessie ordered them.
"Right!" James and Meowth nodded.
Team Rocket jumped into their hot air balloon that had two rockets attached to it.
"You can't go. The air currents in this valley are treacherous. If you launch that rocket, there's a good chance we'll never see you again." Cullen warned.
"Finally, a man with intelligence, intensity, and a ruggedly attractive stubble who cares about me passionately. What could this strange sensation be? It must be love! But our love can never be. I have already given my heart to Team Rocket," Jessie put out her hand as if to stop Cullen, "Please, don't try to beg. I must leave you."
"When it comes to romance, she's got a pretty vivid imagination." Meowth commented.
"And that's all she's got." James added.
"I'm not finished yet!" Jessie yelled at James and Meowth, "Now we must go our separate ways, but I hope that when you think of me, as you most certainly will, remember that there is something good in "good-bye". She pressed button on remote control that ignites the rockets, causing Team Rocket to fly off in the balloon.
"The weather's changing again. Taking off in a balloon like that is careless and reckless." Luna said.
"You forget to mention brainless as well." Domino added with a flat expression.
"We have to do something though, otherwise we won't be able to get them back." Ember said with determination.
"Let's go." Luna headed inside and place on her climbing gear, "I know Mount Quena pretty well, so I'll lead you up there. I'm ready when you all are."
The gang, Cullen, and Domino agreed with Luna.
Luna, the gang, Cullen and Domino climbed up Mount Quena altogether by rope.
"Oh, this is so-so scary." Domino said.
Cullen looked back, "You knew this would be tough. You've stay back at the cabin." He told her.
"Staying there alone would've been even scarier." Domino retorted.
Suddenly a strong wind and rockslides happened.
Domino had a serious look on her face as she dodges it.
Cullen was able to avoid it, "Domino!" He called out.
"Here I am."
Cullen looked behind him and was surprised by her.
"I'm pretty lucky that big rock just missed me by an inch." Domino said, cheerfully.
Cullen just blinked, flabbergasted.
Ember had seen what Domino had done. She knew that Domino would reveal herself soon.
Meanwhile Team Rocket was continuing to having trouble with their balloon in the harsh wind,
"I think we should have used our gliders for this." James said.
"You should have thought of that sooner!" Meowth shouted, annoyed.
The hot air balloon began to fly sideways in the wind once again.
"It's getting windy!" Luna shouted out, warning the others.
Suddenly Team Rocket balloon flew to where Luna, the gang, Cullen and Domino were and ended up crashing into them.
The hook that held the climbing rope, clung onto the balloon and soon everyone was holding tightly onto the rope.
The harsh wind blew in and the hot air balloon flew higher into the sky and soon it was flying over the top of Mount Quena.
"The wind just stop." Jessie said, all the sudden.
Ember looked down at the island in the middle of the lake. She knew that's where Mewtwo is.
"Copy. Over and out." Domino obeyed, placing away the walkie talkie and she began to climb up the rope with amazing skills, all the way up into the balloon.
"Hey, who are you?" Jessie asked.
Domino took out the walkie talkie, "009 to Team Rocket Combat Unit, proceed to coordinates." She ordered.
"The Team Rocket Combat Unit?" James questioned.
"They're here?" Jessie asked.
"Where?" Meowth asked.
Team Rocket looked in the distance and saw lots of yellow blimps with the red symbol 'R' on them.
"There they are." Jessie said.
"Pretty impressive." James said.
"Where's the Meowth head balloons?" Meowth questioned.
"Ah!" Team Rocket, expect Domino yelped as the basket was tipped.
Luna, Ember, Misty, Brock, and Cullen all climbed up to the balloon, hanging on the sides of the basket.
"Domino, what are you doing?!" Cullen asked.
"Domino?" James questioned.
"Is that your real name?" Jessie asked.
Domino held her cap, "I don't reveal my true identity, that's a secret I keep to myself. Things are... simpler that way." She looked up, "But with the nearly breaks of Team Rocket, I have an identity that is know to all." She took off her disguise, revealing a Team Rocket uniform underneath, "My fellow agents known me as 009 Domino, but my adversaries known me as simply the... Black Tulip." She held a black tulip in her hand.
Everyone, besides Ember, was surprised by that.
Ember cursed in their heads.
"Black Tulip? But you me that you work for the Pokémon Institute." Cullen said.
"I do, but Team Rocket has agents working everywhere." Domino announced, "You just never know. You may look innocent but the friendly face maybe hiding our fiercest foe."
James puts on a smile. "Look at our faces." He said.
Jessie has a smile as well, "They're friendly." She said.
Meowth smiled, "And foe-y."
"All I see are the faces of losers." Domino falls backward but hangs on sideways with her foot anchored on a railing, "Here's a little souvenir." She threw the black tulip to the balloon, which pierced it and sent the gang flying, "Bye. Nice to see you go. Ha ha ha!" She jumped off and activated her hang glider from her backpack to fly away.
Luna, Cullen and the gang ended up falling into Clarity Lake, while Jessie, James and Meowth just flew away towards the ground in the balloon. Jessie, James and Meowth ended up crashing on the ground next to a mountain cliff.
Luna, the gang and Cullen had just come out of Clarity Lake, which they landed in.
"Is everybody okay?" Brock asked.
"I'm alright." Misty replied and Togepi chirped, "Togepi's fine, too."
Ember was annoyed, "I'm fine, a bit. But I'm worried about Tesla and Levina." She answered.
Cullen looked towards an island in the center of Clarity Lake, "Team Rocket's balloon was headed towards for that island." He said.
"We can get there." Luna smiled and pointed towards a giant tree trunk, "See that giant tree trunk over there, we can build a canoe out of it."
"Sure. And we can use our Pokémon to help." Misty said.
"Well, let's get started! Cybele, I choose you!" Ember released Cybele from her Pokéball.
"Quill!" Cybele appeared.
"Victreebel, come on out!" Brock released Victreebel from his Pokéball.
"Victreebel!" Victreebel appeared.
"Use Razor Leaf to make that tree trunk into a canoe." Ember ordered.
Both Grass-type Pokémon used Razor Leaf attack at the giant tree trunk and soon the Razor Leaf shaped the giant tree trunk into a canoe. They also made some paddles.
Everybody help place the canoe onto the lake, they got in and paddled it at once.
Misty looked up, and saw the Team Rocket blimps and one helicopter, "I hope that Team Rocket doesn't see us." She said, quietly.
"Philotes, come on out." Ember took out Philotes from her Pokéball.
"Togetic!" Philotes chirped happily.
"What are you doing, Ember?" Cullen asked.
"Since Team Rocket is here, I have a really bad feeling that they'll do something terrible here. We're going to need help." Ember answered and turned to Philotes, "Philotes, listen I need you to go and gather up all the Pokémon that live here, to help against Team Rocket."
Philotes nodded and took off to find all the Pokémon that live around here.
"That was a great idea Ember, Team Rocket is bad news and we need all the help we can get." Brock said.
Ember knew that Pikachutwo would be gathering the other clone Pokémon to fight against Team Rocket. She hoped that Tesla and Levina were okay.
Soon enough Luna, the gang and Cullen had just arrived at the other side of the lake and came to an area of Mount Quena, where there was a large spring lake.
"Wow." Ember said, amazed by the large spring.
Cullen took a sample of the spring and examined it on his minicomputer, his eyes widen when he saw the analysis, "Wow, it's off the chart." He turned towards Luna, "Luna, this spring must be the source of Purity River, the water chemical makeup is astounding."
Luna looked at Cullen, "I knew it would be."
"The human body in fact all living things are made up of mostly water. Water is essential for life and the quality of water helps determine the quality of life." Cullen explained.
"Yes. This place is bursting with life, that's because it's clean here, untouched, pure and the source of that purity is the spring." Luna stated.
"Maybe this spring isn't just the source of the all water in Purity Canyon, it could be the source of a whole new way to bring health and happiness to the whole world." Cullen smiled, with excitement, "We maybe standing on the edge of the important discovery of medical history."
Suddenly some baby Nidoqueen and baby Rhyhorn, came out from the bushes.
"Nido Nido Nido Nido..." The baby Nidoqueen said, as they walked.
"Rrrr rrr rrr rrr..." The baby Rhyhorn said, as they walked.
"Dawww~ Cute~" Misty squealed.
"Wow, without a Pokémon Breeder around its amazing they all look healthy." Brock complimented.
"A habitat as clean as this one, it couldn't help but grow up strong and healthy. The air, the food and the water, are all natural." Luna pointed out.
Ember smiled, she as she knelt down when a baby Nidoqueen and baby Rhyhorn came up to her. She gently gave the baby's a tickle under their chins, which she earn a purring and cooing sound from them.
"I wonder if their parents are nearby." Misty said.
Brock saw a larger Nidoqueen and Rhyhorn, "Up there." He pointed.
"They are all very protective and very proud." Luna smiled, "The babies here are living happy and healthy lives."
Ember recognized those two Pokémon, 'They're the Clone Nidoqueen and Clone Rhyhorn from New Island, that Mewtwo created.'
Ember remembered Mewtwo and the event on New Island. Her memories didn't get erased by Mewtwo for some strange reason. She guessed that it might have been her new psychic power that protected her from Mewtwo's power.
"They look just as happy and healthy as their offspring do." Cullen commented.
"I think we should go now, they might get nervous." Luna looked at the couples, "We need to find Tesla and Levina."
Ember agreed with that because she wanted them back. So everyone left the area and started to walk down the stairs of the path back to the lake.
Then the gang, Luna and Cullen were running the stairs, all the sudden they were trapped by metal rings.
"Woah!" Brock said.
"Ah!" Misty yelped.
"What's this?" Ember questioned.
Luna and Cullen were shocked.
They all looking down the stairs and saw Domino, with Team Rocket agents behind her.
"Unfortunately, your being here is very inconvenient for us." Domino commented, "We can't let anyone interfere and prevent for reaching our objective. We can't let you leave till our operation is over."
Ember glared angrily at Domino.
Domino and the Team Rocket agents took the gang, Luna and Cullen back to the area where the spring is.
The Clone Nidoqueen and Clone Rhyhorn both watched as the humans enter the area.
"Aren't they just adorable!" Domino said, she pick one of the baby Nidoqueen.
"Those Pokémon are just babies leave them alone!" Luna shouted.
The Clone Nidoqueen and Clone Rhyhorn came down from the hill to protect their children's from the human.
"Aha!" Domino threw her black tulip at them and it released a shocking electricity, shocking the Clone Nidoqueen.
A metal ring came and captured the Clone Rhyhorn, while shocking it.
Both parents lost consciousness from the attack.
"Stop it!" Cullen said.
"What on earth did you do?" Ember asked, glaring.
Domino picked up her black tulip, "I know trainers capture their Pokémon inside their Pokéballs, but I prefer our methods." She looked at one of the agents and gave an order, "Make sure not a single one gets away! These Pokémon are just going to be used in experiments and as bait for Mewtwo. No sense in wasting Pokéballs."
Ember glared at Domino, "Team Rocket is more disgusting than I though you were. Especially that Leader of yours Giovanni." She said. She remembered that Giovanni was the Gym Leader of Viridian Gym in Kanto.
"Yeah!" Brock and Misty agreed.
Domino smirked, "Say what you want, but it won't change a thing." She said.
A few moments later, Team Rocket's helicopters arrived and the member began making a new building for Team Rocket. While they were doing that, Domino and the Team Rocket agents had taken Luna, the gang and Cullen into a cave.
As they were all walking, the other Pokémon's that came with Mewtwo appeared.
Tesla spotted her trainer, "Raichu!"
Levina called out. "Pikapi!"
Ember turned around and spotted Tesla and Levina, helping another Pikachu and Raichu, "Tesla! Levina!" She said, happily, as she ran towards them.
"Raichu Rairai!" Tesla said and looked at the Cloned Raichu who collapsed beside her.
Levina looked at the Clone Pikachu who collapsed beside her, "Pika!"
"Oh..." Ember picked up the Clone Pikachu and Cloned Raichu, "What happen to you two? What did they do to you?" She questioned, as she saw the injures.
Clone Pikachu groaned in pain, "Pi..."
Cloned Raichu groaned in pain, "Rai.."
Cullen thought of something, "Luna, get spring water that is the vile in my back pocket. It could revive them." He told her.
Luna nodded and took out the vile from Cullen back pocket and he opened it, she knelt down, "This might be just what Pikachu and Raichu need." She gave the spring water to the Clone Pikachu and Raichu.
The Clone Pikachu and Raichu drank the spring water and their injuries were vanishing, they opened their eyes and perked up, "Pikachu/Raichu!" They smiled, fully healed.
Cullen was astonished by the water, "That water is just incredible." He said.
Luna agreed, "I knew it was healthy but it's healing powers are absolutely amazing." She said.
Ember place the Clone Pikachu and Cloned Raichu down, "Glad you're alright, Pikachu, Raichu." She said.
Clone Pikachu looked up, "Pikapi!"
Clone Raichu looked up, "Rairai!"
Domino appeared, "Stop muttering and start walking. You can't stay here, have a place all prepared." She told them.
"And where's that?" Cullen questioned.
Soon everyone including all the Pokémon's were place behind bars, that Jessie and James were originally kept in.
"Now you'll be staying here, while we build our new Team Rocket laboratory here." Domino said, as she held her black tulip.
"You can't do that. This place belongs the Pokémon only." Misty spoke up.
"It did belong to the Pokémon but now it belongs to Team Rocket. Bye." She left.
Ember, Misty and Brock started to get really angry with Team Rocket.
"Team Rocket is getting more and more worst." Brock said.
"Its bad enough that Team Rocket invade the Pokémon home but now they're trying to build a laboratory here." Ember stated, "I hope that they'll get what's coming to them."
"Yeah, it's going to get worst." Misty said.
"Let's hope that Philotes was able to get help." Ember prayed.
Just then the clone Pokémon in the prison cell started to speak.
"Hey what's wrong?" Luna asked.
Tesla's ears twitched, "Rai."
"They say they're coming, and they're very angry." Meowth translated.
"What are you talking about? Who's coming?" Misty questioned.
"The bug Pokémon and lot's of them. Philotes did it!" Ember cheered.
"Well, Bug Pokémon's home are near clean lakes. My guess it that Team Rocket is polluting the water as they're building." Brock explained.
"That's right and they're all coming to stop Team Rocket." Meowth added.
The Butterfree's flew over the Team Rocket agents and uses Sleep Powder, making the agents who are there fall asleep.
Scizor's and Scyther's fired Hyper Beam attacks towards the larger building area, causing a massive explosion.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The Beedrill's charged towards the agents and stung them.
BOOM! BOOM!
Everyone in the prison cell heard the commotion.
"What's going on?" Misty panicking.
"The Bug Pokémon's are overthrowing Team Rocket!" Ember grinned.
BOOM! Another explosion appeared and destroyed the bars to the cell.
"Ah!" Everyone covered themselves.
They all looked and saw the bars of the cell, destroyed.
"We're free!" Misty exclaimed.
"Okay everybody out." Ember ordered.
At that moment Philotes turned up.
"Togetic~" Philotes smiled.
Ember smiled and hugged her Happiness Pokémon. "Well done of gathering the Bug Pokémon, Philotes. Thank you." She said, and then she returned her.
The gang and the all the Pokémon ran out of the cave. Luna and Cullen ran to where the spring was, hoping it had not been contaminated.
As Team Rocket was distracted by the bug Pokémon, the gang and the two Pikachu's, two Raichu's and two Meowth's had a chance to go where Mewtwo was. Mewtwo was still struggling within the electric orb and was getting weaker by the minute.
"Pikachu!" Levina called out.
"Pika Pika!" Clone Pikachu called out.
"Raichu!" Tesla called out.
"Rai Rai!" Clone Raichu called out.
Mewtwo looked back and saw the gang and three cloned Pokémon, "(I am glad that you are safe.)" He said, in relief.
Clone Pikachu smile, "Pika!"
Mewtwo groaned, "(But I cannot handle this much longer!)" He growled out.
Ember looked up, "Mewtwo." She said.
Mewtwo looked at Ember surprised, "(How do you know my name?)" He asked.
"We heard you from Meowth." Ember replied. "You protected Tesla and Levina from the Team Rocket Leader."
"Thank you for protecting them. What can we do to help you?" Misty asked.
"(Stop these machines.)" Mewtwo replied, as he feels his body is weaken even more and pain is expanding.
Ember took a look at these machines, "These machines are sealed up pretty good." She commented. "I suggest Mewtwo, you don't try to attack from within the sphere because you're already weaken and they'll damage you more if you attack from the inside. You might not survive."
Mewtwo barely gave a nod.
"Leave this to us, Natsu!" Ember called out her Fire-type Kanto starter.
"Roar!" Natsu appeared with a roar.
"Natsu, Dragon Rage." Ember pointed toward the red machine, "Raichu, Tesla, Levina, and Pikachu. All of you use Thunder." She pointed toward the dark navy blue machine.
Natsu fired a Dragon Rage and Raichu's, Tesla, Levina and Clone Pikachu all fired a Thunder attack. Both attacks hits the machines and destroyed them.
Mewtwo was free, but he didn't have enough energy to levitate and he collapsed onto the ground.
"Raichu!" Clone Raichu and Pikachu ran up to Mewtwo.
"..." Mewtwo lay weakly on the ground.
"Raichu!" Cloned Raichu, tugging on his hand.
"Pika-Chu!" Clone Pikachu said, tugging on his other hand.
"The spring?" Ember questioned.
"They're saying come to the spring Mewtwo." Meowth translated.
"Of course, the water healed Pikachu and Raichu maybe it could heal Mewtwo." Brock said.
"Then we better get going." Ember suggested.
"You're not going anywhere." Giovanni's voice appeared from behind them.
The gang and Pokémon turned around and saw the Leader of Team Rocket, Domino and many Team Rocket agents.
"Mewtwo belongs to me and I alone will be the one to decide weather he will survive or not." Giovanni stated.
"We have to reject that!" Ember shouted at him.
"Like we're going to listen to you!" Misty yelled.
"We won't let you!" Brock added.
"That's right!" Misty agreed.
Misty and Brock released their Pokémon to battle against Team Rocket agents.
"You take Mewtwo, Ember." Brock said.
Ember nodded, "Lucario!" She said, and one of her Pokéball shook itself releasing the Aura Pokémon.
"(Ember.)" Lucario said.
"Lucario, help me with Mewtwo." Ember said.
Lucario nodded and helped the clone Pokémon, staring up, placing his right arm over his shoulder and they began to walk.
"No!" Giovanni shouted out.
Then all the Clone Pokémon and Bug Pokémon appeared and surrounded Team Rocket.
"What!" Giovanni growled out. "So you wish to defy me as your Leader has. Very well then, I'll crush you too." He smirked.
Ember was carrying Mewtwo with the help of Lucario to the spring.
"It's been a long time since we last met, hasn't it Mewtwo?" Ember questioned with a smile.
Mewtwo looked at Ember in surprise, "(... How?)"
"New Island, the first and last place we met. I'm glad that you and the other Pokémon are safe... Well, not right now." Ember responded.
"(How can you still remember when I used my powers to wipe out everyone's memories of me and my clones?)" Mewtwo asked.
"Technically you did wipe out everyone's memories involved but mine didn't. Somehow my Psychic powers awakened and protected my memories." Ember answered.
"(Why are you helping me?)" Mewtwo asked.
"Because you saved Tesla and Levina, so I'm saving you in return." Ember replied.
"(You are a unique human)," Mewtwo said, "(One of a kind.)"
Ember blinked, then she smiled, "You're one of a kind too, Mewtwo."
Soon they reached the spring. Luna and Cullen were at the spring. They turned around and saw Ember with two unknown Pokémon with her.
"Ember!" Luna said.
"What Pokémon is that?" Cullen asked.
"This is Mewtwo, he's really weak. He needs the spring water fast." Ember answered, stopping in from of the spring.
"Ember, wait! You can't place that Pokémon in the water, it might contaminate the whole spring. This water has minerals human do." Cullen protested.
Ember frowned and gave Cullen a slight glare, "Mewtwo is a Pokémon and no matter what I refuse to let him die! Lucario!" She shouted.
Lucario nodded and tossed Mewtwo into the spring.
When Mewtwo was in the spring water, as he sunk down, he was thinking, 'I've seen this place. I've been here before. Was it in my dreams, but this is no dream. I fill, new life, raising within me.' He saw a image of Mew looking at him and then flying past him, 'Mew... If these waters have the same restoring effect on me, as they do on other Pokémon... Pokémon who belong to this world... Could it be, that this world is my rightful place to...' He opened his eyes.
BOOM!
Ember looked up seeing the Leader of Team Rocket helicopter, "He's here." She said.
"Tell me where Mewtwo is!" Giovanni demanded and fired a red ball beam.
"Lucario, Aura Sphere!" Ember countered.
Lucario launched an Aura Sphere, cancelling out the attack.
"Stop it, you can't come here to destroy the spring!" Cullen shouted out, angrily.
"Yes I can. This place belongs to me." Giovanni stated with an evil grin.
BURST!
Mewtwo emerged from the spring water, fully healed and restored of full strength, "(You will not defile this place! It does not belong to you! Anymore than I do!)" His eyes glowed blue and he used his power.
Mewtwo powers continued to raise.
"(This place has given me new life!)"
Mewtwo's Psychic powers surrounded the whole of Purity Lake.
"(Now I should use all my powers to defend it!)"
Soon the light died down.
Clarity Lake, the spring and all the Pokémon were inside Mount Quena. Brock and Misty were inside too and so were Jessie, James and Meowth.
Brock was impressed, "This is incredible. Mewtwo must've move the lake and spring of Mount Quena here, so they can be protected from humans." He explained.
Misty noticed that Ember wasn't with them.
"Where's Ember?" she asked.
"I don't know," Brock replied, "and I don't see Tesla, Levina or Mewtwo anywhere either."
Mewtwo was with Ember, Tesla and Levina in another cave of Mount Quena.
Ember looked at Mewtwo questionably, "Why did you separate us from the others Mewtwo?" She asked.
"(I wish to speak with you all in private. When I was in pain from that man's machines and when I was being healed from the spring... I felt it all.)" Mewtwo explained, his emotions, "(I felt everything that any Pokémon feels when it is in pain or recovering, even though I was cloned from the original Mew.)"
When Mewtwo said that, Keiko let herself out of her Pokéball.
"(Hiya Mewtwo!") Keiko greeted, waving her tiny paws at him. "(It's good to see you changed.)"
Mewtwo looked at his original in shock, "(Mew.)"
Keiko blinked, "(Yes, but I'm called Keiko now.)" She chirped, happily.
"(How?)"
"(I decided to join Ember after the incident at New Island. She's pure hearted and a one of a kind human.)" She answered as she twirled in the air.
"(I see.)"
"Right, thanks Keiko... I was going to say this to you Mewtwo. Just because you're cloned from Mew that doesn't mean you're not a Pokémon. You can feel pain and other emotions just like any other Pokémon can." Ember told him, "You're a Pokémon and most of all you are who you are."
Keiko nodded, enthusiastically. "(That's right!)" She hugged his head.
Mewtwo face expression was hilarious, "..."
Tesla and Levina laughed at his expression.
Ember giggled.
Mewtwo sighed, but doesn't remove her and then nodded, "(Your eyes, speak the truth and honesty.)" He had a purple and pink Pokéball with the letter 'M' in white appeared floating above his hand.
Keiko looked at the Pokéball, "(Oh my, that's a Master Ball.)" She said.
"A Master Ball? Isn't that a Pokéball that can capture any Pokémon with trouble and fail. What's more, you don't even have to weaken the Pokémon at all." Ember said, shocked, "Why do you have one of those with you?"
"(This was at Team Rocket's Headquarters when I first became their slave. They were saving this to capture Mew.)" Mewtwo answered.
Keiko blinked, "(Good thing that I can hide and evade.)" She muttered.
"(I took it with me when I first escape from Team Rocket, so they wouldn't use this ever.)" Mewtwo shifted the Master Ball to Ember, "(I'm giving this to you because I want you to catch me, Ember.)"
Ember's eyes widened, "Huh?! Excuse me, what?!" She gasped.
"(You have helped me understand about myself, but I want to learn more and I believe that being your Pokémon will help me understand more about the world.)" Mewtwo confessed.
"..." Ember was speechless, "... But are you sure, you want to be caught? I though you wanted to be a free Pokémon." She questioned.
"(My desire and wish is to be captured by you, is my own free choice.)" Mewtwo told her, seriously, "(Please.)"
Now that Ember thought about, if Mewtwo is going to be out in the world, someone is bound to try and capture him because he is one of a kind Pokémon. Capturing Mewtwo is a safe course, so no one else can capture him.
Ember sighed in defeat and nodded, "Alright."
"(Go Ember, capture Mewtwo!)" Keiko nudged.
Ember took the Master Ball from the air and captured Mewtwo with it. "It's done. Huh?"
The Master Ball shook and released Mewtwo from within.
Mewtwo shook his head, feeling a bit dizzy, "(Being in a Pokéball is more uncomfortable than I thought it would be.)" He groaned.
Keiko laughed, "(You get use to it after a while big brother. Mine is quite comfortable!)" She said.
"..." Mewtwo looked at Keiko, "(Did you call me big brother? Why do you call me that?)" He questioned.
Keiko nodded, cheerfully, "(Yes because that's who you are now to me. I may be your original but you said it yourself that you decide your own and that's not all, I always wanted to tell you that.)" She explained, excitedly, spinning around. "(Also, no but or if about it. End of conversation.)"
Ember, Tesla, and Levina can actually see Mewtwo has the older brother to Keiko. She's very childish but she can be serious when she wants to be and that's rarely is.
Ember let out a laugh, "I take it that you would like to stay out of the Pokéball?" She questioned, looking at the Master Ball.
Mewtwo nodded, "(Yes and I wish to travel around the Pokémon world alone.)" He told her.
Ember smiled, "That's fine. You maybe my Pokémon now, but it does not mean that you don't have the right to choose what you want to do." She said.
Mewtwo then placed his hand on top of the Master Ball and a purplish glow appeared and disappeared, "(From now on, whenever you need me, just place your hand on the Master Ball and then you will be able to contact though me with telepathy.)" He told his new trainer.
"I understand." Ember said. Then she returned Keiko back into her Cherish ball, but not before she gave Mewtwo another head hug, which he grumbled at.
"(Now, I need to take care of one last thing.)" Mewtwo said and he teleported himself, Ember, Tesla, and Levina back to where the others were.
"Ember!" Misty exclaimed, happily.
"You all okay?" Brock asked.
Ember smiled and waved at them, "We're all fine." She replied.
Mewtwo turned to his fellow Clone Pokémon, "(After everything that has happened, I have now decided that all of you shall now live in the wild outside of Mount Quena.)" He told them.
The clone Raichu spoke up, "Raichu Rairai."
"(You ask me that you and the others will be living in the world where all other Pokémon live?)" Mewtwo asked.
Cloned Raichu nodded, "Rai."
"(Yes, I now realize that we all have the right to decide what we want to do with our lives, even though we are Clone Pokémon.)" Mewtwo answered, "(So you will all live in your natural habitats, in the wild.)"
The Clone Pokémon began to cheer and cry out loudly, they all wanted to leave Mount Quena. They want to discover the outside world and live with other wild Pokémon in peace.
Mewtwo looked at the gang, "(I would appreciate it that you do not speak about this to anyone.)" He told them.
"You don't need to worry, Mewtwo." Ember assured him.
"Ember is right," Misty said, "We will never reveal this to the public."
"Yeah, especially all what happened today." Brock said.
"We won't tell anyone either." A voice spoke up from the behind the gang.
The gang and Mewtwo turned around and saw James, Jessie and Meowth.
"It's true that we are members of Team Rocket, but this is something that's worth keeping a secret even from the boss." Jessie said.
"That's right." James added.
"Yeah, even I know how to keep secrets. Also, you're making the right choice of letting all of these Pokémon leave the mountain. They deserve to know what it like out there and find out who they are." Meowth added.
Mewtwo nodded, "(I believe you're right.)"
Ember could tell that Mewtwo understood that the gang and Jessie and James would never reveal the secrets of Mount Quena, so he let them keep their memories.
But she also guessed that he intended to erase the memories of Giovanni, Domino and the other Team Rocket members of Mount Quena and of Mewtwo and the clone Pokémon. That way they would never come after Mewtwo and the clone Pokémon again, and nor would they disturb Mount Quena again.
Mewtwo would also erase Luna and Cullen's memories of Mount Quena; their desire of researching the spring would have put it in jeopardy.
Mewtwo used his psychic powers to teleport the clone Pokémon to different places to live.
"Pikachu Pika!" Clone Pikachu was speaking with Levina.
"Pika!" Levina smiled and nodded.
Clone Pikachu smiled, "Pika!" She nodded.
Mewtwo chuckled, "(It's seems like Pikachu would like to go with you, Ember.)"
"Say what?" Ember blinked.
"Let me guess, Pikachu here sees Levina and Tesla like a sister of hers?" Brock questioned.
"Well Pikachu was cloned from Levina." Misty pointed out.
"True. But she's still a Pikachu." Ember agreed. "You're not giving me a choice huh you two? Or four?" She eyed Levina, Tesla, Clone Pikachu and Raichu's expression.
Clone Pikachu nodded and pointed to Ember, "Pikachu!"
"But I'm curious. If the Clone Pokémon are able to reproduce would they be able to evolve?" Brock asked Mewtwo.
"(Yes. I have given all the original abilities of the originals. So they are cable of evolving.)" Mewtwo answered.
Ember perked up at that, "That's great. Pikachu how would you like to become an Alolan Raichu?" She asked.
Clone Pikachu titled her head in questioned, "Pika?"
Ember showed an image of an Alolan Raichu on her Rotom phone, "This is an Alolan Raichu. They are part Electric and Psychic." She explained.
Pikachu stared at the image for a couple of seconds and nodded, she pointed at the image, "Pikachu!" She smiled, brightly at Ember.
Ember smiled, "That's great. Your name from now on is Nariko." She said.
'Nariko' blinked at her new name, "Pikachu Pika!" She smiled.
"I'll take you to the Alola Region after some training." Ember told Nariko and she returned Levina back into her Pokéball and sent her back to Oak's ranch. Then she took out a Friend Ball and captured Nariko. The Pokéball disappeared and was sent to Oak's ranch.
Mewtwo smiled, "(Thank you all.)" He said. "(If we are able to look to the future as other Pokémon do. We must also be able to look to the past. The shame of that past is not ours...)"
'It's belongs to those who use our past to set us apart, to ensure the safety of all my fellow Pokémon and of this healing place. I will clear only the memories of those who seek to destroy them.'
And so together with all the wild Butterfree's powder; all of Team Rocket's memories, Luna and Cullen's memories of Mount Quena and Mewtwo were all erased from their minds.
'Only they shall forget.' Mewtwo voice echoed, using his powers.
Back at Mount Quena, Mewtwo said his goodbye to the humans and flew off into the sky to see the world.
"Be careful out there Mewtwo and good luck." Ember said.
"(I will, Ember. Let me know whenever you need my help. I'll be there.)" Mewtwo assured her.
Ember smiled softly, "Thank you, Mewtwo."
Soon enough, the balloons took off.
"See you later Mewtwo!" Ember waved goodbye.
"Good luck on your journey!" Brock waved.
"Hope to see you again!" Misty waved.
"Raichu!" Tesla waved.
The gang and Team Rocket left Mount Quena in a Pikachu head and Meowth head hot air balloons.
So Mount Quena was safe and the clone Pokémon were free to roam about in the Pokémon world.
With the incident on Mount Quena now over with, the gang could now continue their journey.
Ember had the Master Ball attached her necklace, next to Rainbow Feather, and Poseidon's Silver Wing. She was glad that she'll be able to communicate with Mewtwo if anything happens to him or she needs help.
"I find it amazing that you actually captured Mewtwo, Ember." Misty said.
"I'm surprised myself Misty... I never thought that Mewtwo would ever want to be caught by anyone." Ember said, smiling.
"Mewtwo probably found a friend in you Ember," Brock stated, "which is why he wanted you to capture him."
Ember gave a bright smile in response.
So Ember and Mewtwo were now partners. Mewtwo knew that he would never be a servant to Ember, but as her friend and family, he'll be there to help if asked and needed.
