IT'S NOVEMBER NOW ! Greetings to all! Here ReaderandWriter9000 and I bring you a new story. Most of all a new special for BGTY. As you may already know, this month is Thanksgiving. Although I do not celebrate that holiday (because I am not American and I do not live there) I find it interesting to try to recreate this holiday.
This story was made possible by my loyal partner mermaidf. She gave me the idea for this special, which I hope you all like. Without further ado, let's start with this new story.
Clarification: "Bubble Guppies" and its characters do not belong to me but their respective creators and Nick Jr. I write this non-profit.

Bubble Guppies Teen Years: Thanksgiving Special
Prologue
Some years ago
The month of November had arrived. A cold month, as the change of season from autumn to winter would begin. The town of Bubbletucky had that fall atmosphere. With the trees about to lose all their orange and brown leaves. With the cold winds that force all its inhabitants to wear coats. The holiday season was approaching, however, the inhabitants were more excited for another date, Thanksgiving Day. Holiday where families share a dinner together and give thanks for everything they have.
One day in November, a Thanksgiving dinner was about to begin. We will focus on a nice family, the Imani family. Composed of Mr. and Mrs. Imani, a 10-year-old Goby and Goby's older brother, Gabriel. He had just married a guppy woman with dark skin and long fuchsia hair, whose tail was the same color, named Megan. The young couple had come home to spend Thanksgiving dinner with Goby and his parents.
"Glad to see you again" Megan greeted her parents-in-law.
"We like having you here, Megan" Mr. Imani commented.
"Big Bro! Nice to see ya here!" Goby greeted his older brother with a handshake.
"Me too, little brother!" He played with his brother´s hair.
"Hahaha" Goby giggled.
"Kids, it's dinner time!" Mrs. Imani called them. She had a cute purple cap on her head, hiding her lack of hair.
"Mom….We aren´t kids!" Goby said bothered.
"Well, I'm not a child anymore ... but you are, dwarf hahaha" Gabriel commented with a funny tone.
"Bro!" Goby giggled.
"I don't care if you're already married, Gabriel. You will continue to be a child to me" Mrs. Imani answered with a smile.
"All right, mom" Gabriel rolled his eyes. His wife giggled. Finally, the entire Imani family gathered together at the table to start dinner.
"I love this party. My favorite part is the turkey!" Goby commented excitedly.
"We all like it, my love. But it's not the most important thing, you know" Mrs. Imani talked with her youngest son.
"Really?" Goby was confused. She shook her head.
"The most important thing is to meet with the family, with the people you love and be grateful for all the beautiful things we have" His mom explained.
"You are right my dear" Mr. Imani kissed her cheek.
"I'll go get the turkey that I prepared" Mrs. Imani got up with difficulty and went to the kitchen slowly.
"Mom, did you really make dinner yourself? You shouldn't do it alone. Why didn't you call me or Meg earlier to help you?" Gabriel asked worriedly.
"Nonsense, dear! You two live far away. The trip is very tiring, I did not want to disturb them. Also, only I know the secret special recipe for the best Thanksgiving turkey" Mrs. Imani answered. Her older son sighed.
"Yeah! Mom´s turkey is the best turkey in the entire world!" Goby commented happily.
"Son, you know that your mother is sometimes ... stubborn" Mr. Imani said it to his older son.
"You worry more, I can take care of myself ... Ahhhh" Goby's mom fell to her knees. They all got scared and went to help her up. Only Goby didn't react because she didn't know what she could do.
"Mrs Imani! Are you okay?" Megan asked worriedly.
"Ugh….I´m fine...It was nothing….It was just a silly fall" Mrs. Imani was able to get up alone.
"Honey...Ever since the doctor diagnosed you with cancer, he gave you strict orders. And one of them was not overworking" Her husband tried to explain her situation.
"I know! I know! But I also don't want to get depressed and stay in bed all day. I have a husband and a son to take care of" Mrs. Imani commented. Everyone didn't like the situation, but they couldn't force her either
"Just be more careful, mom. You are not as strong as before" Gabriel advised her.
"Enough of the regrets ... Are we going to enjoy this Thanksgiving dinner or what?" Goby's mom asked with a great smile. Without saying anything else, the others helped Mrs. Imani bring the food to the table. After that, everyone sat together around the table. Goby stared at the delicious turkey with desire, normal for a hungry child his age.
"Goby….you know the rules" His mom glared at him.
"(sigh) I know….First give thanks, then eat" Goby said with a reluctant tone.
"That´s my boy! So...Who wants to start? Maybe you, Megan. What are you thankful for?" Mrs. Imani asked.
"Okay...ejem...I am grateful for your invitation to this dinner. I am thankful for the great husband I have. And for my family and job" Megan said.
"Hehehe nice! It's your turn, Gabriel" Mrs. Imani asked.
"I am thankful for my great parents. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be a good man. I am thankful for my little brother, who has been my confidante, despite being much younger than me" Gabriel confesed.
"Hey!" Goby said. The rest giggled.
"And I'm obviously grateful to have an amazing woman in my life like Megan" He kissed her wife´s lips.
"Awwwww" Mr. and Mrs. Imani said very happy.
"Yuck!I hope I don't have a girlfriend" Goby commented with the typical kids reaction. The rest giggled again.
"It's your turn, Goby!" His mom asked.
"Mmmmm….I am grateful to have the best parents in the world. I am also thankful for my older brother. He has always been my best example to follow. And well ... I don't know if to say this but ... I'm also grateful to have met the Bubble Guppies and Mr. Grouper. Well, they have been my best friends ... and of course ... I wish to see them again one day" Goby explained. He remembered his good times with his band.
"Yeah….That was very good. What about you darling?" Mrs. Imani asked to her husband.
"I am grateful for my whole family. For my two sons, my daughter-in-law, and my loving wife. I really feel that I have everything" Mr. Imani commented.
"Awwww...It´s my turn. I am grateful for all of you, my family. And I'm grateful to the one above, because even though I know I don't have much time left, every day there is always a reason to smile. My children, my husband, there is always something to be happy about. I am grateful that I can live each day as if it were my last" The others got a little sad. Mr. Imani, Megan and Gabriel perfectly understood what she was saying. Well someday, that damn disease was going to kill her, sooner or later. Goby didn't understand much. His family made the mistake of not telling Goby the whole truth about his mother's illness "But cheer up! It's time to eat!"
"YUHUUU!" Goby said happily. Everyone began to share the great food on the table. Mr. Imani was in charge of splitting the turkey into several parts to distribute it. He gave each one a good portion of turkey and everyone enjoyed that delicious delicacy.
"Mom! It is the most delicious turkey you have ever made!" Goby said very excitedly.
"As rich as ever, mom" Gabriel added.
"It is very delicious, Mrs. Imani" Megan commented.
"You never let us down my dear" Mr. Imani hugged her.
"Hehehe it was nothing. Eat more, dears!" She said with a big smile.
"Mom, you have to teach me how to do it. Someday we will prepare a great turkey together, with the secret recipe of the Imani family" Goby said it excitedly.
"We´ll do it, my little Goby. I promise you that when you grow up, I will teach you the secret family recipe" Mrs. Imani smiled at him.
"Really!?" Goby was very happy "Thanks, Mom!"
"You´re welcome, my child!"
And that's how the Imani family held a Thanksgiving dinner in Goby's childhood. The little boy still had things to learn, like the true meaning of Thanksgiving. Remember the promise of Goby's mother? Well, unfortunately, that promise could not be fulfilled. Because ... a few months later ... Mrs. Imani would lose the fight against that deadly disease, leaving her husband and her son Goby alone. The boy never imagined that this would be his last Thanksgiving dinner with his mother. That was a tough time for little Goby. For a long time, the legacy of Mrs. Imani remained lost ... until now.
Wow, a bittersweet introduction huh? I admit that a tear came when I wrote it. A bit of excitement was necessary to start this special. During this month, I will be working on this special, so stay tuned. Leave your reviews and I will gladly read them. See you in the next chapter
