Bubble Guppies Teen Years: Thanksgiving Special
Chapter 3 FINAL: Families Meeting
Thanksgiving night finally arrived. A special night where the family gathers to give thanks for all they have and share dinner together. However, it was a different night for the Bubble Guppies, because all their families would gather in one place for dinner. It would be a very big celebration. Molly, Gil, Oona, Zooli and Urchin were in the Bubbletucky Communal Ballroom. They had to come hours before the evening to clean up and set up the tables, chairs and lights.
"Man….That was a lot of work. I had never cleaned so much in my life" Gil said as he stretched his body.
"Yes, I know. But you'll see that it will all be worth it" Molly commented with a smile "By the way, has anyone heard from Goby? He would take care of the turkey, the most important thing. He hasn't said anything"
"Deema went to look for him, but has not returned or told us anything. I guess she had some inconvenience" Zooli answered.
"They had better come soon. Because all our families are almost here" Urchin adviced.
"Speaking of guests...What about Nonny?" Gil asked.
"I do not know. He said he would come soon" Oona said a little worried. Until a black car parked in front of the guppies. Two people got out of the car. It looks like the car was one of those services like Uber. One of the people approached the guppies. It was someone very familiar.
"Hi, guys" He said with a calmed tone.
"Nonny!" Oona hugged him softly.
"Nonny!" The rest hugged him too"
"Agh...I need space" Nonny said as the others hugged him tightly. They broke away from him immediately.
"How is your special trip going?" Gil smiled at him.
"I am doing very well. They let me come back for Thanksgiving. I'm sorry I didn't get there sooner. There were delays at the airports" Nonny explained. He started with a special trip months ago (Details revealed for Season Three) "By the way, I brought a special guest"
"Hello, Bubble Guppies!"
"Nicole?!" Gil, Molly, Zooli and Urchin were shocked.
"Nicole!" Oona said with a smile and hugged her. After all, she was her mother-in-law.
"This will be uncomfortable"Gil whispered in Molly's ear. Well, Nonny's foster parents were coming to the party too, and they didn't get along with Nicole. Molly nudged him lightly so he wouldn't say anything about it.
Families began to arrive at the Community Hall. The first family to arrive was the Gentilella family. They take punctuality seriously. Miriam, Robert and Mia arrived and greeted Molly, their beloved daughter/sister, with went in to take their seats. Then came the Lee-Rivers family. That is, Urchin's parents. His dad hugged him while his mom just greeted him formally. Urchin led them inside. Then came the Shaskan family. Which consisted of Oona's mother and her older brother Ichiro. Both were greeted by Oona with a tender embrace. They accompanied her inside.
"Please, Goby. Come soon...we're almost ready to start dinner!" Gil said it to himself.
The next family to arrive was the Pirruccello family. They were Nonny's adoptive parents. They greeted Nonny with hugs and kisses. They greeted Nicole politely. Some tension was noticeable, but they didn't say anything about it. Nonny escorted them to their respective seats. Then came the Imani family. They were Goby's father (he was using crutches to get around. His tail had been injured), then came Gabriel (Goby's older brother), Megan (Goby's sister-in-law) and their three unruly children: Gabe, Gary and Gilbert (or as they call themselves: "The Naughty Three").
"Hello! Welcome to our Thanksgiving holiday party! One question...Have you heard from Goby and Deema?" Gil asked worriedly.
"I don´t know" Gabriel admitted.
"They are busy with the turkey, but they are almost there" Mr. Imani said.
"Oh my...Oh my...The night is ruined!" Gil was starting to panic.
"Gil, calm down! They´ll come soon…. They will come if they know what's good for them" Zooli said.
Goby´s family entered the building uncomfortably as they watched Goby's best friend's reaction. Curiously, the Waller family arrived. Deema's parents along with Dylan and Daniel, her younger twin brothers. The children spotted Goby's nephews and conflicting looks between the two groups of children were inevitable. Obviously their parents were not going to let them fight and so they sat apart. Then came the Brooks family, that is, Zooli's family. Which only consisted of her aunt Khloe. Unfortunately, pets were not allowed, so they got someone who could take care of them. Zooli escorted her to a seatThe last family to arrive was the Gordon family. Gil's mom hugged him tightly while the father (divorced from Mrs. Gordon) gave him a firm handshake with his son.
And obviously we can't forget tonight's special guest. Mr. Grouper had arrived and was well received by the guppies present. Finally everyone was in their respective places. Each family brought something for dinner. The only thing missing was the desired Thanksgiving turkey. That worried some of the guests. The time was approaching and there was no sign. Everyone was waiting. Some were talking to each other. Others were making sure that neither Deema's twin brothers nor Goby's naughty nephews were up to any mischief like eating dessert before the hour or fighting with each other, whichever came first.
"Guys...everything is okay? Where is the turkey? Rather... Where are Goby and Deema? I haven't seen them" Mr. Grouper asked to Gil and Molly.
"They were both taking care of making the turkey. They didn't tell us anything" Molly answered.
"They must arrive now! Otherwise the party will be lost!" Gil added panicking.
"Don´t worry, Gilly...They will be here soon" Molly said. Some were not liking the wait.
"Very good...why is it taking so long?" Mrs. Lee-Rivers asked. Finally, the doors opened and Goby and Deema appeared. They carried a rolling table with several Thanksgiving turkeys. Everyone was excited for their arrival.
"Hello everybody! The turkey is here!" Goby said with a big smile. The guppies immediately greeted him. Without wasting any more time, they placed the turkeys in the center of the table to start the feast "Sorry for the delay. We had a few hiccups but finally managed to cook the best Thanksgiving turkey ever. I really want to start today by remembering my mom"
The others kept silent to respect Goby's speech. His father, brother and sister-in-law paid more attention. He was a little nervous, Deema put her hand on his man. That small gesture helped him to start his speech.
"My mom's favorite celebration was always Thanksgiving. She would brighten up that celebration. Her delicious turkey, her amazing recipes, her stories and jokes...Wow...I miss those times. This year I wanted to do the same thing my mom did: prepare the perfect turkey. I got so obsessed with the turkey that I forgot what made that day special...Be thankful for all that we have and gather together as a family and with our loved ones. I thought the turkey was the most important thing...and the truth is, it's not. The best thing is knowing that you will be spending dinner with someone special. We were able to recreate Mom's special turkey thanks to her recipe book. She made this book to share her legacy with the whole family. To strengthen the bonds. I hope you enjoy it, but more importantly, I hope you enjoy it with all your loved ones... I have so much to be thankful for! For my dad, my older brother, my sister-in-law Megan, for my nieces and nephews, my best friends and for my girlfriend. You are all very important to me and I am grateful that you are still by my side. Also...I will never stop being thankful for the mom I had. Even though she is no longer by my side... I know she is still in my heart. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!" Everyone applauded Goby's speech.
There everyone gave thanks for what they have. After that, everyone enjoyed the great dinner. Everything went well. The dinner was perfect and many families lived together. Even Dylan and Daniel started to get along well with Goby's three nephews. Finally, the Bubble Guppies got together again.
"Everything was a resounding success! I knew you would make it, Goby" Oona said.
"Yeah. I never doubted you, my friend!" Gil smiled nervously. The rest rolled their eyes in a funny way.
"I just made the turkey together with Deema and was the organizer. All of us made the feast together" Goby commented.
"And... how do you feel now, Goby?" Molly asked. Seeing that Goby said a lot of things in his speech, Molly could not deny that he missed his mother.
"Now….Now I feel….free" Goby looked to the night sky.
"….Guys...I think it would be better to leave Goby alone... for a few minutes... He needs a moment" Nonny ordered. The rest left him. Deema gave him a quick kiss on his cheek. When Goby was left alone, he looked up at the starry sky with happiness. Tears ran down his cheeks.
"Th...Thanks, mom!... Happy Thanksgiving!" Goby said to the sky. A few minutes later, he wiped away his tears and returned to the party. He would spend the rest of the celebration with his loved ones. And so ... I say to all of you...Happy Thanksgiving.
The End
